✓ Top AppThis is a very clever app. As the important note mentions above...it needs a headset with built-in microphone to work. The levels on my iPod were fine, though i did use various settings to optimise them. The sound of the human voice through the vocoder is very clearly defined / nice. The ability of this imstrument to sing is pretty cool also. The library of words to use is very comprehensive, and the inclusion of vowel sounds is also useful- for monophonic choir like impressions. Entering words from the library and hearing iVoxel sing them is Great fun! At the moment I am still discovering what this instrument can do. Five Stars!.Version: 0

✓ SuperbI can't believe the vocoder (iVoxel) on my iPad 2 is better than any of the plugins currently running on my DAW on my studio computer! Being honest, until buying this, and Addictive Synth also made by VirSyn, I always felt they were an "almost there" company - not quite up to par against companies like Gforce (Imposcar, Oddity) or Arturia (MinimoogV). They seem to have found their feet on this platform and both their products really shine and have something to offer to musicians who use only IOS devices or a combination of IOS and Studio based applications. The sound quality is staggering - even using the internal mic you can get some extremely useable, and musical results. I can't find anything to fault and the price point is exactly right..Version: 2.0.0

It's amazing this VSM201 syled unit hands-down beats most outboard vocoders on the market today...such as the Electro-Harmonix V256...all for 12 dollars? ✓ Great app, even in iOS 8Used to work perfectly for me in iOS 5,6,7. In iOS 8 it runs properly but there is no longer any sound. Maybe due to Audiobus issues? Figure by Propellerheads & Junglator give the iOS 8 Audiobus error when starting but I still get sound from those programs. Please update with full support for iOS 8 with Audiobus. I want to rate this app 5* again. UPDATE: version 2.7.0 on September 19 fixed the Audiobus & no sound issues. Unfortunately the right side of the screen is now black on my iPhone 4S for this app so the keys & knobs on that side can't be operated. Getting closer. 😎I've emailed the developer so hopefully it'll be fixed soon. UPDATE 2: Version 2.7.2 fixed the iPhone 4S display issues mentioned above. ✓ A dabbler's delightIVoxel can import sounds from the clipboard, and state save under AudioBus, which makes a difference. For those still unable to make a sound in AudioBus, remember to add System Audio Output (or AudioShare or a DAW) to the bottom slot. ✓ Well I am stoked - it's back!I has been reading the reviews and saw how this great vocoder, possibly the best on iOS, just eroded away to the point where it didn't even work. Combined with how far back the last update was, I didn't take any chances and just waited. Patiently. And I knew it would happen! Well, I hoped anyway, that eventually an update would come out of nowhere and it would be back in business. So I downloaded (on sale to boot!) and it's everything I hoped it was. I see now why it was the go to choice in so many demos a year or so back. My only quip is that I've had a few times where it just stops playing audio, not sure why, and only when sampling the demo sounds/settings. That, combined with the sequencer either not working correctly or there not being good "help you get started" help contextually available... Makes it hard to give it 5 stars. A solid 4? For sure. Thanks to their team for bringing this back to life, I am super stoked and it's worth every penny! It was the missing piece I've been needing to fill for quite a while now. Nothing else out there fit the bill, at least not on this platform or anywhere near this price. Again, thank you!.Version: 2.9.0
✓ Works Just as AdvertisedFired it up and put it through it's paces and it performed flawlessly. Yes, placing voxels in the sequencer is a bit fiddly but hey, it's an IPOD ater all and with a bit of patience you can get a good feel for it. Add on effects are simply that, add ons which aren't really needed but add extra value and fun to this app. If you're hesitant about buying and have an IPOD Touch 4G then I assure you it does what it says on the tin. ✓ Expect to be amazed!I originally got this app because of it's vocoder functions and ability to manipulate vocal parts further than any other manipulation program. But what I got was so much more. You can shorten vocal samples to create the most amazing synth sounds I've ever heard. At first I though I just got lucky with a particular vocal sound but then I selected other small parts at different places and just found more and more amazing sounds, which seem to go beyond the scope of the usual subtractive analogue and FM possibilities. But then there are all the other features, just look at the list above. I guarantee this app will change your idea of what a synth can be. You're certainly missing out if you don't have this beauty..Version: 2.0.3
✓ Great but crashes...This vocal app is stunning, bit difficult to get your head round on first startup but really very well done!!! Have experienced heavy crashes on the iPad which is a shame. ✓ Great Vintage Kraftwerk SoundThis app really has an amazing sound-- it's hard to believe that I'm running it on an iPhone! Lots of tweakability and the developer has added some useful effects and a sequencer as well, plus exporting recordings using copy/paste makes it easy to get these vocoder sounds into other apps like Multitrack DAW. There is some work to be done on the user interface to make it smoother, as right now it's a little rough around the edges in my opinion, but the developer has already made an update in the short time it's been out so I'm hopeful that there is more to come. Still, the resulting sound that is so hauntingly reminiscent of classic 70's vocoders keeps me coming back for more! The Voice of Energy from Radioactivity on iOS....Version: 0

The auto pitch algorithm is buggy in this update, last update it wasn't all over the place, it's unusable, hope virsyn fixes this, but as a vocoder it's fabulous, and it works great with audio bus.. ✓ Nice upgrade to an elegant appFantastic vocorder. Sounds great, lots of flexibility, good performance. This upgrade adds a lot of cool features and a great UI upgrade. The MIDI implementation still has some holes, but it is much improved and works very well in the background with virtual MIDI. It does need a few more cc-assignable items (you can control vibrato and gender with cc's but not the big obvious things like Volume and cutoff). That's what I need anyway.. Still, I am giving this 5 stars as a super value for the money, a usable and unique instrument leagues above other ios vocorders. Would be fun to be able to switch voxel with a foot pedal, too! ✓ Great!!!First off I'd like to say this app is great and the best vocoder app for iPad/iPhone/iPod I know it's not cheap but I'd recommend it to anyone who wants a configurable pro quality vocoder app that also let's you use it in real time with a mic as well as add other filters to it and record etc look at the info to see all features and I can not wait for updates hopefully they will add more filters/features keep up the great work and to anyone reading this buy it now you won't be disappointed! Update iOS 8.0 even after the compatibility fix its still unusable half of the stuff on the right side didn't load/show, its just black, I hope this app gets fixed soon as. ✓ Great but...Still experiencing some problems with audio in sounding clear. I'd like to be able to sing and not peak the pants off the patch. It seems to be way too hot or way to quiet and muffled whatever I do. Sidenote, I use alesis IO dock with an SM58 going into iVoxel. It would be cool as well if there were more options for just regular singing/ midi based auto harmonies replicating your clean voice. I would very much like to not have to use my tc helicon products one day if I can just have it all happen through the ipad.Version: 2.0.1

✓ Pretty goodThis app is presently not the best vox type app on the market, however it is still a great vocoder and worth it if you can get it on sale. Currently, the sounds you can create feel a bit limited to me, and some features don't work quite the way they should in general. ✓ A must for iOS musiciansAmazing. Much improved release. Outstanding control. Just incredible sound quality. You can record your own voxels and with a bit off effort to figure out the interface you can audiopaste or access recordings via iTunes. Very configurable control and the interface has been much improved as well. Very fun. The horsepower in my iPhone 4S really makes this app shine. Great job! ✓ Multi-task-alicious!Ok so load the app, switch out, load up djay (.99 right now) get two funky loops in sync, switch back and bam.. live vocoding over your DJ set... NICE! I could actually get funkbox running at the same time with djay and ivoxel but funkbox would pause for a sec and go off beat..(iPod 4th gen) Very impressed with this app after having spent $16 on that OTHER vocoder app that never really worked right.. a neat bonus is that I can have it plugged into the sound system and still use the iPods built in mic. Great app guys not sure how I missed it when it launched but glad I found it..Version: 1.4.0
✓ Comprehensive and powerful appHaving great fun getting some cool sounds and sequences out of the app so far. I particularly find the 'Edit Voxel' page helpful, where you can change the point at which the voxel is held during key press. Ideally, I'd like to see a preview button on this page, so I can instantly test out the effect of the placing of the hold point without the need to go back to the keyboard view...a preview play option might be nice on the voxel listing menu as well. Apart from those very minor would-likes, it's excellent and well worth the cash..Version: 0
✓ WowI don't really know what the few criticisms were for this app. This is better than most soft synths, it has so many built in phrases to play around with...plus realtime processing, recording, can set BPM. This is the real deal. I've been playing with this for about 2 minutes and can already tell its potential, good quality. It's not nearly as complex as one reviewer made it sound. But I guess if one seldom uses music software it could be intimidating. I think $5.99 is an awesome price for a vocoder/synth. Good job, no complaints so far. I've been hunting around for a good vocoder for PC and everything doesn't quite do it all or costs way too much money. This the price is right. However it says it's 50% off right now. ✓ Wow why is this 3 stars?This is such a great app! Jakob Haq just released a video on vocoders and in all honesty given that the app was on sale I decided to get it as he featured it A LOT. I was quite interested as I HATE inter-app audio and although Jakob isn’t as uptight about this as I am, if he was using an inter-app app, he probably had a reason. This app is a beast! Midi is glitchy It will not route audio to bluetooth (many audio apps do allow this) It will not allow audio out to be routed to my Alesis IO Dock so no direct line to my mixer with this device I know the hardware will allow for this, so the software is the problem, A few more lines of code would make this an awsome app This isn't a $1 app so I would like to see some updates to address these issues I can then rate iVoxel 5 star.Version: 2.0.0

I missed that nice pad stuttered by drum track sound that is somewhat easily accomplished and maybe a bit played but COOL NONETHELESS! Maybe there's good reason why one cannot import from the pasteboard, I don't know. It's my own fault I didn't research thoroughly before purchasing. Anyways, I haven't used the app much (since I just purchased it) so don't take this as a full review. I just wanted to point out lack of pasteboard import. Otherwise the app seems alright. ✓ Woohoo!!!This is cool when you workout the way it works,it's got live too so you can sing into iPad mic and record your voice in a sample to later play on a keyboard.. Its got lots of pre-recored samples too,you can also get them of computer by wifi.. I'm going to find this very useful in adding some voice to my mixers.
