✓ BuggyThis app is extremly useful if you are trying to find an app that can play good quality movies. It's not so good when it comes to reliability, though. Nearly every second time that I try and play a movie, the file just wont open. Disapointing, but otherwise, pretty useful..Version: 0

✓ Some good things, but some simple annoying thingsThis is basically a good and convenient player. Easy to transfer files over WiFi from your computer. I purchased the add-removal option because I think the app can easily be improved (annoying things listed below) and hope the app developer will fix it Annoying things: 1) The app does not remember the full-screen setting. When resume playing, we need again go to the menu and flip the full-screen button 2) When playing movies from a playlist, the app will not remember the currently (Or last played) movie. Next time you want to continue watch your movies, you have to go again in your playlist, try to remember which movie you were playing and start it. The app remembers the position in the movie, but not the movie in the playlist 3) you can not move multiple movies from your library to a playlist. This has to be done one by one. Very inconvenient Feature suggestion for the app developer: I use the player to watch movies at gym when on the treadmill. The iPad usually covers the display of the treadmill (also the timer). It would be nice if we could enable a simple stopwatch (or timer) on the display to help timing the running (the running time never matches with the movie time if you watch movies from a playlist and do not start playing from beginning or if your movies are shorter as your gym time).Version: 3.7

✓ Wait for AC-3 before you buy the paid versionI have tried many other players and this one is head and shoulders above the others for video streaming. However, most 720p etc. files now use AC-3 audio codec. If they get it sorted it will be the best one out there. Just wait and see if they can get the licensing in place otherwise give it a miss..Version: 2.0.05
✓ Great App, Crippled by Audio SyncThought this app was just what I was looking for. Able to transfer files by USB, could play back SD DIVX files without conversion. The video decoding looks great and the sound quality doesn't seem to have any problems, but unfortunately there is some form of sync issue between them so that words are a noticable fraction of a second out from lip movements. If and when that issue gets fixed, then I'm in for the paid version! Oh and to the guy who doesn't like the banner ad, pay for the full version! The coder deserves paying for his efforts - it's only a couple of quid!!.Version: V1.0.15
✓ Lots of bugsI have been using this product for approx six months and was very happy with the first few, however since the last couple updates it's failed epically. I go to play an entire album and it freezes and stops after one song so I have to go in and close and reopen the app. Real shame because it's really easy to use and before the last couple updates I would have given it 5 stars. ✓ Two stars from me due to no AC3 and a better alt out thereWhen I first own my iDevice, I had to convert or get iOS friendly format files to view them on my iPad/iPhone. Then I move to streaming from my computer before moving on to CineXPlayer for my internet-sourced tv shows. That lasted for several months when I stumbled upon the new app, AVPlayerHD which was a life saver. I no longer to do all the things I have to do previously. I can now just download them files transfer it to my iPad and voila! Problem solved. A few weeks back I came upon this app and noticed it got a good review so I decided to try it since it look kinda nice. Then I discovered it cannot play all my 720p HD .mkv files due to what I was told DTS restriction. Now, those files came with AC3 Dolby Digital 5.1 audio and it play fine on my AVPlayerHD app which bring me to my reason of giving this a 2 star rating: 1 for general app design (TBH I just like the green/slate colour scheme and the mesh background). The 2nd star is for the network/stream/FTP/AirPlay/web features. If you have DD audio-enabled files, buy the AVPlayerHD app. Worth it. Better than this I can assure you..Version: 2.0.16

✓ Refreshes every time you open another app?I needed an app that would let me play videos/music in the background while I worked on other things. This app does the job, however every time you open another app it refreshes and you have to go find your music again. It only happens while opening an app, not when you switch to an app already open in the background. It's quite annoying..Version: 3.8

✓ Only player with next and previous buttonsI use this player for backing tracks live on stage. There is a major shortage of functionality in iPad apps for some reason. The problem with this app is that you cannot simply swipe between videos quickly, and the next an previous buttons disappear from the screen each time you use them. ✓ Pretty goodDoes what it says on the tin. Enables you to copy Avi files onto ipad via itunes on plc and then play. Most Avi files play but not all. Some reviews say there is no point to this app which is missing the point. It prevents you from having to convert existing Avi files into an apple format. It's not that it's complicated to convert files, (there are lots of software products to do this) but it saves you the time it takes to do this. Avi files are one of the most common file formats and this app lets you play it on the ipad..Version: 2.0.05

✓ Money gone to waist!!!I upgraded the app plus all the options with it. Came to about 10$ only to find out that all my MKV ripped movie play with no sound whatsoever and my digital Sony camera that shoots video clips in a MTS format won't play correctly either. No sound and it plays in slow motion. So i requested a refund...they don't give any on the app but only the options bought with it. I wrote to Apple and to Olimsoft and got a email back from the latter to download a file onto my iPad from my pc in an attempt to make the sound work only on mkv. No fix for mts. This is way to much hassle so i bought Playerxtreme for 3$ something and it played all my movies and clips flawlessly. In short, i got shafted by Olimsoft and now app is deleted..Version: 2.1.04
✓ Keeps On CrashingI have installed this on the New iPad and then played some 720p MKV files which I transferred from my PC. The iPad played them perfectly and the video was smooth but what keeps on happening is that after about 40 seconds of video, the app crashes and just closes. Even after restarting the iPad AND/OR app, the same problem occurs. Maybe the bit rate of the video is too high for the A5X chip to handle - I don't know. Also, I have not tried it on other video formats, so maybe it'll work properly on other types. The layout of the UI is simple, very nice and files are easy to move/cut from one place to another as well as rename. Was starting to like the app but problems came in the way..Version: 2.0.03

✓ Do not purchase any bolt ons to this appI downloaded this free lite version of the app fair while back and then was happy with it so paid within the app for the full app. This has caused me issues ever since as I have the ‘lite’ app for the same price as the full app and now whenever I want to reload it I have to restore purchases and for a long time that restore hasn’t been working so I have had to start using other apps to play videos and left this one dormant. I have tried reaching out to the developer but to now avail so far. I suggest you avoid this app altogether at the moment. To be clear, the 'Restore Purchases' within the lite app has not worked for months and I therefore am stuck with the lite version for the price of the full verso n and as per the response from the developer to this review I am really struggling to get a resolution to this issue..Version: 4.3.3
