✓ Great free appI am using the free version. It’s convenient, plays the mpv and avi files with audio, and has good features. The sound effects are fine. ✓ Great for RMVB videosThis is the only video app I've tried so far that can play RMVB videos smoothly without any lags. Regarding all the bad reviews here - I personally don't mind the ad banner on top, as this is clearly labelled as a "lite" version, which obviously means the app is for trial purpose. ✓ Very good, minor flawsWorks as advertised, and is I think the most capable free product in the App Store. Its main flaw, still minor really, is that it doesn't play indefinitely from an FTP source. It stops playing at the end of the song unless the ipad screen is kept alive..Version: 2.0.05
✓ Super App!I use a GoPro when fly fishing for Atlantic Salmon and I must have changed my setting from 1080 to 1440. Anyway, when I downloaded my videos to my iPad Air this year ... way out in the boonies, by the way ... they wouldn't play. After I got back to civilization, I did two different searches for the best video players for the iPad. I downloaded three ... or maybe it was four ... before I hit on this one. None of them worked. Well, one did, but only in portrait mode and the video was small ... across the screen ... no way to get it to work in landscape mode. Anyway, i junked them all when I found this one! Works great! Love the fact that it uses a listing interface to display all your videos. Love that I can multi-task with my videos still actively playing in the backgroud. But I'm disappointed I haven't found the audio boost that's listed in the app product description. Unfortunately there is also no search function. If you have a video file starting with the letter Y, such as "You’ve Got Mail," you must continue to scroll all the way to the bottom to retrieve it. Imagine having 10,000 files. The other issue I have is the picture in picture window disappears when the file finishes; definitely a problem if you’ve got TV sitcoms playing back to back..Version: 3.4

Takes one minute to transfer a gigabyte movie. Haven't tried transferring from iPad to pc. ✓ Best playerThis is the best player out there and it's free. There is an ad at the top but I don't even notice it. This plays everything I have thrown at it. Avi, mp4, wmv, mkv, flv. It just does it and does it well. I also have cinexplayer but find I use this more as its never crashed on me yet unlike other players I've used. If you have an iPad this is an essential app IMO. However, I have noticed that it sometimes saves your place in the video, but other times sends you back to the start. Also it's actually free AND can play dolby audio. Small advert up the top of the screen, so it doesn't actually cover any of the image because most media is 16:9 whereas the iPad is... more square. 4:3 maybe? My only complaint is that it struggles with higher bitrate media, like 1080p YIFY movies, but that might just be my home network setup- perhaps I have a bottleneck somewhere in the pipeline. ✓ View Freesat Recordings from Humax FOXSATI use OPlayer for just one thing. It allows me to watch TV recordings I have stored on my Humax FOXSAT Freesat Recorder which is connected to my home computer network. I view the recordings on my iPad3 which is usually totally useless at connecting with my home network. But OPlayer allows the iPad to communicate with the Humax seamlessly. The recordings are all in .ts format which play beautifully so long as they are in Standard Definition. I experience no buffering. It is impossible for any piece of equipment to play HD recordings from a FOXSAT as they are encrypted by the FOXSAT and have to be played back by the original recorder, so this is not the fault of OPlayer. Without OPlayer it is unlikely I would be able to experience this freedom..Version: 2.0.05

✓ Great appThis plays all files I have tried. The ad at the top is not a problem but I cover it with my screen cleaning cloth so don't even notice it. Fast forward and rewind by simply swiping left or right and a simple tap of the screen brings up the menus or turns them off again. Apple TV works perfectly as well. Pressing the in app logo seems to only transfer sound and you have to use the iPads own icon and mirror to get it working. Maybe something I'm doing wrong or just what you normally have to do. You can even set up folders to keep series or films separate. Sound quality is great and with headphones the stereo effect is noticeable. The quality sound on Apple TV is great as well.
