✓ Awesome!Extremely fun game! I played JTR's Original Death Worm back in 2007 and I must say Death Worm has come a long way. Unfortunately it's iPhone debut was stolen by Super Mega Worm, which prompted people to mistake it for a Copycat. While both games are fantastic in their own right Death Worm's Polished visuals, superior gameplay and addition of Minigames is what keeps you coming back for more. ✓ Destructive FunDeath Worm may be simplistic and low in extras, but after playing the game for a few hours I would easily rank it among some of the most addictive and cheap iPhone games available such as Angry Birds or Cut the Rope. Brilliantly you play as the gigantic worm monster gaining points and upgrades while causing mayhem destroyinging cars, tanks and helicopters. That is how complicated Death Worm gets, but it kept me entertained for hours and likely hours more. My only concerns for Death Worm are the limited extras; Survival mode is a very good mode but the overall game needs more variation to stop it becoming stale in the oncoming updates. The cost of the game and the simplistic but fun and addictive gameplay however outweigh these these slight problems. Also, a previous reviewer has complained of the controls claiming them to be 'fiddly' and difficult to use use with large fingers; I completely disagree with this. Priced normally at 60p it is a very good purchase, and at the the time of this review it is free to download for a limited time so you can do no wrong!.Version: 1.01

It would be so much better if there were cliffs, hills, valleys and the like to create some variation in the game. Different backgrounds are a good start, but it starts to get a bit boring after a while. Imagine slamming your way out of a cliff face or hill top crushing all the choppers on the way down. ✓ It's no Super Mega Worm.Hardcore gamers will pick the nuanced control, deeper gameplay, and more technical nature of SMW over DW's quick, casual, and loose destruction; but casual gamers have something to cheer about. My main complaint stems from the overcrowded and undersized sprites in DW. Whether or not you go careening into a mine or bomb becomes a crapshoot (a pet-peeve for technical players) once the action heats up. This is at odds with some of the harder mission requirements. Death Worm is still a blast, but it's gameplay style is polarizing. If you must own one, SMW is my clear choice, but owning both is better..Version: 0

✓ Awesome freebie... Would pay for it now....Had seen DW before in the App Store but never considered getting it until it was on FAAD. With nothing to lose, thought I'd give it a go and so glad I did. Great great fun and way better than expected. If I had known I'd enjoy it so much I would've paid the $1.19 back when I first saw it! Love the little zoom bar and how it's designed so that you don't have to touch exactly on it to trigger zooming - a small but notable feature. The inclusion of mini games and survival mode are excellent fillers but it'd be great to have a few more campaign levels as that part of the game is too much on the short side. Despite this I'm still stoked to have gotten DW for free and I cetainly get enough out of it to justify spending $1.19 if need be. Though some people might think it should be able to zoom in more, I think that would become impractical in terms of being able to see what's to the side of your view - the closer in you get, the less of the bigger picture you see. And you need to see what's to the side. It's more important to be able to see rows of enemies rather than just one guy a bit closer in. My 2 cents anyway..Version: 1.01

Great fun, and an excellent ramp-up in difficulty as you level up. Only problem is that I've earned achievements that never show up in GameCenter, but do show up in-game. The controls couldn't be better, I can not just move my pet in all 4 directions, but also accelerate or slow down to aim precisely before jump. The upgrade system is surprisingly rich, you can choose in what direction you develop, this could be size or speed, or even the power of fire balls that the worm spits out. This even gives a slight strategy game feeling:) 3 locations is A LOT of play time, and more are promised in future updates. The thing that the game really lacks is some kind of endless mode. But leveling up feels more like a chore where mega worm really sucked me in for a while. It is very polished and runs very smooth. After really digging into both games I just dont see how anyone could say this game plays better than mega worm. The "spawning" joystick is very missed in this version for me. That feature is getting more popular and I think it is a huge plus for virtual joysticks. This version of worm destruction also feels both bland and tiny to me by comparison as well. Still i think its worth 4 stars but I had to chime in after all the comparisons to SMW. If I had to choose only one i would go with SMW however, I don't have to chose and I like both games! ✓ EntertainingIt's amusing and fun to play, though it doesn't have an immediate addictiveness. The progressive increase in difficulty keeps things interesting, though some of the levels have overly specific goals that may end up causing frustration. There are various gameplay mechanics that I find I just don't use, and a leveling system to improve those (as well as generic attributes like speed) but I'm hard pressed to notice any difference. So, it's perfectly fun just as a novelty amusement, but the attempts to add non-trivial depth were lost on me..Version: 1.01

✓ WinnerI have purchased a great deal of game apps and I place this one in my top 10. I find it hard to put down. I received it free but would have easily paid $1.99 for it and been thrilled about the purchase. I would suggest that there be a way to increase life power as well as a little assistance on levels where you have to kill a certain number of people without sustaining damage. That is difficult. My favorite of all levels and games is the mini game Super Dash, without a doubt it is the most addictive game I have ever played..Version: 1.01

✓ Good but missing somethingWhile this game is an obvious tipoff of SMW it still has it's strong points. The upgrades are cool and so are the graphics but the closed universe can get repetitive unlike megaworm - the gameplay isn't at solid as megaworm in it's execution but there is always room for improvement.
