✓ Really good but bothersome until I give a revieweHas has been a really good product which I’ve have used for several years. Only a few words it didn’t have in the data base. ✓ 💩💩💩💩💩 Refused to Close with Nag Screen Open ‼️I purchased this app to answer a specific question several days ago. This morning, when I open multitasking to do some housekeeping, the app refused to be swiped closed, so I opened it, and found a “Five Star Rating” nag screen. The only logical, and appropriate, response to such arrogant software behavior, is a five poo rating‼️ ~RWG PS; While I can’t speak for my British English speaking brethren, elsewhere in the world. North American English speakers expect a “Word of the day” dialog box, to be labeled “Word of the day”. And not; “The word to learn today”! Honestly the dialog boxes for Digital English Dictionary Products, should not read like they were Coded by Someone Who Learned English, Listening to the Narration of Films, Found Under a Hatch, on a Pacific Island!.R. ✓ Lack of definitions and photosI purchased this long time ago as a student and now I use again this for reference. I frustrate this lack of terms and nothing photos for explanations. ✓ Not brilliantAs a professional therapist I have bought this app in the hope for high quality definitions. However some of the definitions are less than sufficient. For example the definition of DHEA states: An androgen occurring in normal human urine and synthesized from cholesterol; its level decreases with age. Whereas Stedman's medical dictionary states: A steroid secreted chiefly by the adrenal cortex, but also by the testis; it is the principal precursor of urinary 17-ketosteroids. Weakly androgenic itself, it is metabolized to ΄-5 androstenediol, a hormone with both androgenic and estrogenic effects, and is one of the precursors of testosterone. Serum levels are elevated in adrenal virilism. It may function as a neurotransmitter. I understand that an iPhone app does not leave room for longwinded definitions yet such a superficial definition as provided by Dorland's is not adequate for me. I do like the sound button which gives the user the correct pronounciation of the term. Also I like the provided pictures..DaifuVersion: 3.04
