✓ One major problem ⚠️ with iOS version..The OCR function is great, but there is no way to add an invoice that has been sent to you as an attachment. A simple add file button would be great. You can do it with a web browser, why not on the app?.Version: 4.8.5

✓ SCAMMY PRACTICES!!! They change your plan subscription and charge you without your permission!SCAMMY PRACTICES!!! They charged me $715.00 without my permission. When I saw this alarming cost jump in my account, I asked them why they were charging me this amount as this was definitely not my usual annual plan fee. They told me that since they no longer offered the plan I subscribed to, they decided to transfer me onto a different plan that was "suitable" for my needs. Of course the plan they decided was "suitable" for me was $500 more expensive than my last one (and nowhere near suitable for my one person small business - just the most they could charge me). The problem is I never gave them permission to change me into a different plan nor for this significant price change. They tried to defend themselves saying that they had emailed me to inform me but I personally never saw this email. Plus this email could easily be missed for anyone. Unfortunately, they prey over this and take advantage of having people's credit card information through what they claim to be "autorenewal" (when it is really them changing your plan on your behalf and charging you hundreds of dollars more than you agreed to in your old plan). This is a horrendous business practice and I would warn anyone from considering Dext. Regarding the app functionality, I spent too much money here in the past for years of me having to hire book keepers and accountants just to in the end manually fix up Dext's mistakes. My most recent book keeper said she ends up having to fix Dext's mistakes for her clients that use Dext and is confused at why her clients are spending this much money on this app when she has to fix these errors, gst misreadings, miscategorization, etc, innacurrate readings, etc. Before I hired her, I spent more time trying to work out the kinks in Dext's program than what was worth the cost by far. Additionally, support is really bad and they do not have a phone number for you to call and can sometimes take a long time to reply. Fortunately, I was never charged due to my bank blocking my card because they believed this payment was “suspicious activity”. Unfortunately this service isn't even worth the initial money let alone the money they try to charge you without your permission. Please look elsewhere..Version: 4.8.5

✓ Had to google how to cancel the app!It might be a great app, I actually don’t know, but I got it by accident and don’t need it. I wanted to cancel it and it took me a long time to find how. ✓ Good app and service, but lacks description fieldThe app does the basics of receipt submission, and sends them to the website where they can be managed. Right now, however, users then have to go to the website, look up their entry, find the right one and *then* describe it for the accountants who issue reimbursements. What would be useful is to have a simple title or description field in the mobile app so submitters don’t have to leverage the website. Even better would be a simple category pick list, managed on the web side. Haven’t seen many feature improvements lately. How is the company doing? ✓ Horrible appThis app forces you to upload a receipt in order to create a expense items. None of their competitors do something that idiotic. We all have small expenses where we either do not have a receipt, it’s not worth the effort of uploading the receipt. Which leads me to my second point… it takes forever for the app to read the receipts. I would much prefer filling in the fields manually than waiting for hours, and their AI reads it badly anyway! ✓ Different Taxes Separated?So I tried this app in 2019. It does quite a good job at bringing out all the data from your receipt, but I have to give it only a one star because I am unable to give it a try again as my free trial time was used up three years ago. ✓ Wrongful chargesI’ve been subscribed for over 3 years and used to recommend ReceiptBank to everyone - not anymore. After an account upgrade Receiptbank wrongfully began debiting my account twice per month. Noticing the error, I raised it with my account manager who confirmed it was an error on their end, and sent it off to ReceiptBank ‘finance’ to resolve. It’s now 6months later and they’re STILL debiting the wrongful charge every month! ReceiptBank ‘Finance’ don’t reply to emails or calls. Don’t trust them..Version: 3.9.3

✓ Unreliable and very expensiveThis is a disappointing service from Dext. It consistently loses receipts that have been photographed whilst processing the upload. This is not good, you have to manually cross check all the time that what you have scanned is going / has gone into the system otherwise you are losing your expenses. This causes one to have to re type each individual receipt. 2. If using the expense report option, the user cannot sort the receipts by date until exported to a spreadsheet. And then see 1. ✓ Misleading advertisementThis app claims to integrate natively with lots of vendors to get invoices automatically imported. However, a lot of those integration are not actually working. When you try to set it up, it just fails to import. Been talking to support for 3 weeks and they aren’t fixing the integration, keeps asking me to re-do the config over and over, even if it’s still not working. It’s a fine tool if you upload your own invoice however all the integrations listed are not guaranteed to work and they would rather wrongly claim they integrate with such services (DHL is a good example) instead of fixing the problem..Version: 4.4.7

✓ RubbishClunky, lots of editing. In theory taking pictures of your receipts to have the amount captured is a life saver, unless you have taxi receipts. Cannot be uploaded manually. ✓ Other Photo Folders Not AccessibleAwesome if you are using this on the go as close to real time as possible, but hugely inefficient because A) you are punished for being organized as you can not access any folders made in Photos which you have dedicated to keep receipt images, only the main general album is accessible, and when you need to go back through years worth of photos to find the receipt images it can be very painful B) there is no AI to identify receipt images for auto import from main Photos folder Correct me if I’m wrong or missing something here!! ✓ No Scan function only photoThis app could be a great tool for sending documents in but for me it’s useless as I don’t want to take photos of receipts and invoices and their backgrounds. Could Dext add a scanning facility similar to Dropbox, scannable etc. that scans only the document and then saves in a suitably compressed format?
