Very goodBut one problem iv in countered is In body copy then import in app!! Import pgp on clipboard !! Yep! Then, ALERT!! DECRYPTING KEY NOT FOUND ???? PGP MESSAGE IN EMAIL BODY Copy the entire PGP message, from the “—– BEGIN” through the “END —–” lines to the clipboard. To do this, hold your finger on the message until the “copy” button appears, then adjust the beginning and end of the highlighted section to cover the entire message, then press the “Copy” button. Switch to iPGMail Select the “Decode” tab Press the “Import” button (upper left) to import content from the system clipboard. This should then attempt to decrypt and display your message. THE ENTIRE PGP MESSAGE, FROM THE “—– BEGIN” THROUGH THE “END —–” LINES TO THE CLIPBOARD. SORTED, IT ABSOLUTELY BANGING APPRESPECT.Version: 3.6.10

WorksHope they continue to add features.. One really important feature I want to see is the he ability to copy text anywhere and by using the share option to decrypt data....Version: 3.1.6

Secure mailThis app works great to secure messages. Would love to see 1password support to make entering my passphrase easier, but hey, it works!!.Version: 2.8.0

It worksIt works, which is what you want. I suppose it could be a bit slicker. My biggest concern is with having my private key on something as easily lost as a phone but that isn't really anything that the app can change..Version: 1.27

Needs better integration with Photos and other appsWorks extremely well for basic message encryption and signatures. Needs better integration with the rest of iOS, for example, need to be able to "open" a file from one app (such as Dropbox, Photos, etc) directly into ipgmail for encryption. Having to upload to Dropbox first is not only an unnecessary step, it is insecure. Update: Can now compose messages longer than one screenful but cannot use Copy/Paste once the text is below the bottom of the screen. An odd bug indeed. Keep trying. Fix that, and improve on integration with the rest of iOS (also suggested by another reviewer) and back to 5 stars..Version: 1.44

Best PGP app on the App Store !!Once you get your head around this app it's really good ! Support up to sha512 . Simple interface . Got some really great advanced features built into which many of my desktop pgp clients don't even have.(eg. Feature to upload public keys to a key server) More I use it the more I like it !! It impressed me enough to leave a review on here and that's saying something . Highly recommended !! Definitely worth the $2!! Keep up the good work guys !!.Version: 2.0.9

Works GreatI've been a supporter of PGP since donating money for Zimmerman's defense fund. The government went after him because he gave the public access to strong encryption technology. I've long tried to encourage people I know to make use of this technology. Even with all the press of celebrities having their email hacked, most people still don't get it. This program makes it easy to use on an iPhone and integrates well with my existing email accounts. Now we just need to spread the word..Version: 2.6.5

Key updatesNice app, but could do with functionality to update public keys without having to remove them and re-add..Version: 3.0.5

Provides clean solution to a problemHi, This software does what it's supposed to and that is all it needs to do. I like the UI and the feature set. I understand if some people have trouble with the setup as the documentation isn't very clear but it works out of the box. In my case there was a small hiccup. Do NOT import your own public keys. Just the private one (which includes the public) or you will get an error message. I tried to look it up and troubleshoot instead of asking the developer. Finally I caved (manhood bruised) and he got back to me within minutes. We exchanged some nice notes and got the issue solved. As mentioned on the site, there is a crash bug which has been fixed but needs to go through the Apple process, but they are still digesting their turkeys and have some backlog. Again good app, GREAT support. Look forward to more features even though I have no clue what they could be. With my hiccups usually a four star BUT with the superb tech support, no question a FIVE. If the developer helps within minutes and makes the application work while Apple checks his fix, what more do you want.?.Version: 1.20

Understand what you are and are not gettingThis app does what it does really well. As far as I can see the low ratings are from people who couldn’t figure out how to set it up or use it which in part is just about the inherent complexity of using PGP with email. But I’m giving 5 stars because if you can figure out how to use it, it’s the best available PGP solution on IOS and it really does get the job done when you are away from your desktop environment. That said, this app is NOT a full email client. It comes pretty close if you are composing outbound mail because it can hitch a ride on the outbound mail settings of your email client app and leave the message sent in that app’s Sent folder without having to get the mail app involved. But for decoding inbound encrypted messages it’s inherently cumbersome. You’ve got to open the message in your mail client then forward the encrypted part as an attachment to the PGP app — in my case I found that works best if I forward it via my Dropbox folder — and from there you decode it with your previously installed private key. I hope that over time the developers expand this app into a full mail client so that the extra handling steps on inbound messages become unnecessary, which would be a huge improvement for workflow. But for now it’s good enough to allow me to message securely without having to cart a laptop around all the time — for which I’m grateful..Version: 2.7.0

Bit awkward but does what it says wellNice openpgp implementation for iOS.Version: 1.31

Excellent, please add ability to save passwordWorks a treat for me using gmail and pgp. My private key passphrase is very long, please add ability to save the code in the app (but not back up to icloud).Version: 2.5.6

It worksTried Canary mail, which got pleasant UI, but was useless for PGP. This one is strictly business. I like it..Version: 3.6.12

Works well, UI is a bit datedGiven the limitations of integrating security features into stock iOS apps, this works surprisingly well. It allows easy search of keyservers, import of existing public/private keys, and does most of the heavy lifting required to get a PGAp encrypted/signed email out the door. The UI feels a bit dated, but I’m more interested in the functionality, which it delivers. Well worth the money..Version: 3.1.8

I Highly Recommend this App!It is rare in the App Store to come across an app that wraps the clumsy Apple services into a slick, efficient, aesthetic package. I was sending PGP emails back and forth within minutes. The key recognition and management features make personal cryptography a breeze on your iOS devices. With more and more stories surfacing about corporate espionage from China and our US government trampling upon our 4th Amendment rights it makes sense for IT managers to arm their people with the right tools to secure communications. For individuals, you can be sure your private correspondence stays private..Version: 1.40

Works PerfectlyIt works without any glitches. Easy to use. Does what it says it does elegantly. Highly recommend this app for protecting your communications..Version: 2.9.6

Does what it says on the tin.Easy to use, the only thing that would make it better is direct mail integration. I tried this after it was mentioned by @sggrc and its exactly what I was looking for..Version: 1.56

Fantastic message and file encryption appA lot has been written about the lack of security on the iPad and iPhone. This app provides a great solution for those who want to send and receive PGP encrypted messages or files, or who want to be able to store PGP encrypted files on their iPad or iPhone. It works for PGP encrypted MS Word, Excel, PDF and TXT files. For those who travel a lot and want to be able to store documents securely on their mobile device, this is an ideal solution. It's also great because you can send and receive PGP encrypted emails over non-secured public WiFi hotspots. Customer service by the developers is outstanding. I sent a support request regarding an issue I had in a previous version, and received an email response in less than one hour. They stayed in contact with me until the issue was resolved, and released a new version within a few days thereafter. Very impressive!.Version: 1.24

Well executedA well executed design but could use a slightly friendlier interface. Does exactly what it says on the tin. You are not required to use external servers belonging to certain large corporations either; simply ready to use. I wonder if it's a coincidence that the author has the same last name as well known lock manufacturer..Version: 2.0.2

NiceAfter working with the developer I discovered I was working with a corrupted file that would not work. All I can say is wow, easy peasy. My apologies and thanks. I was SURE it was an app problem. But it was my bad file. I'll go sit in the corner now.Version: 3.6.28

Best way to use PGP mail on iOSBeen using this for about 2 years now and it hasn’t disappointed. Now uses Face ID as well!.Version: 3.1.7

Good AppThis is a really good app; it's easy to use with good mail.app integration. In the future, I'd like to see an option to only import when selecting the import button (not every time you open the app, which can get annoying) and an option to not save decrypted files - just view and discard the plaintext versions..Version: 2.5.3

This version is perfect!Perfect! It's now a 5 star app. All features work great. All of the problems I had in the past have been fixed. This app just gets better and better. Previous review: I like the UI improvments. There is still a problem with files(pictures) being sent as encrypted attachments using iPGMail. I'm not sure it's the files size that is causing the problem or something else. When using Enigmail for Thunderbird on my PC, I get errors when trying to decrypt the attachment from iPGMail. Encrypted attachments I send to iPGMail from Enigmail for Thunderbird are decrypted with no problems. Previous review: Bumped it up to 4 stars. No longer deletes keys and reads incoming attachments properly. However, it is still not handling outgoing attachments right. Some work but most don't. When I try to decrypt them on my PC, the ones that don't work give me a message that they are not signed properly. Previous review: All my keys were deleted after the last update. Also, attachment aren't being handled correctly now. Past versions read attachments just fine. I'll give this app 5 stars once it starts working properly again..Version: 2.9.2

Great app, a must-have.IPGmail provides an implementation of PGP for sending as receiving encrypted messages but the app itself does a lot more than that: it allows the user to generate PGP keys and, furthermore, provides an interface to DropBox, allowing users to encrypt and decrypt any DropBox file using PGP - at last, a way to secure DropBox and ensure that the user files are indeed private. A must-have app for anyone using cloud storage such as Dropbox as well as for secure communication. Last but not least: the support for iPGmail is excellent: the app developer has so far responded promptly to my queries and has fixed a couple of minor bugs as soon as they were discovered. Suggestion: it would be nice for the app to prompt the user to select a particular DropBox folder when uploading files to the cloud..Version: 1.25

Excellent appWonderfully full featured app, that is regularly maintained. Indispensable!.Version: 2022.8.28

Pretty damn goodDoes everything, works fine.Version: 3.6.1

Brilliant!Great app; well-designed. Integration with Drafts is excellent. Developer is responsive to issues. Highly recommended for anyone who uses PGP to protect their emails..Version: 1.62

Long time coming, but finally everything worksI bough this app when many features were still not working... but I knew the developed was working on it, and my waiting paid off. This app now fully functions for encrypting, decrypting, using MIT server for looking up names, and most importantly using iTunes to be able to export private keys (public keys can be emailed) so you can have the same private key on an iphone, ipad, and your Mac. Interface is still a bit clunky which is why its 4 starts, but functionally it all works for sending PGP/iPG/GPG signed or encrypted emails. If the author keeps improving it, it will move to 5 stars..Version: 1.07

This is clearly the bestIt took a bit of work to get the keys in, I had to put in one key at a time through iTunes app section, but once they were in, I culd send email from the app. The app also lives in the share sheet so if someone sends a signed or encrypted, I and send the email from spoarrow to this app and have it verified and decypted. It would be amazing if Apple could to PGP on the native app, built in, but this is the next best thing. no more than 2 extra steps and it is quick..Version: 3.0.4

Great!Easy to use public key encryption! Works perfectly for me, so far has integrated into my system brilliantly. Even detecting when I have copied encrypted text onto my clipboard and asking me if I wish to decrypt. As a beginner to using encryption this has been a perfect introduction for me!.Version: 3.0.1

Quality appGood app, had a minor problem, but support was good, and the problem fixed I use the app to pgp sign for the nominet automation and it works perfectly.Version: 1.40

Great app, great support! This app is an awesome, usable implementation of PGP/GPG. The interface is really nice, and it's actually somewhat easier for an encryption novice to use than any computer-based program i've seen (except maybe Enigmail, if they already use Thunderbird), thanks partly to the easy in-app key generation. This is also useful for encrypting notes without resorting to one of the many vault apps, none of which i really like. Just play around with it and you'll start loving it as much as i do. Also, I contacted the developer about a small problem I had, and got an email response about 90 seconds later. Not too shabby, right?.Version: 1.41

Does what it says on the tin! This is a great app for encrypting and decrypting GPG scrambled email messages. It's interface is simple and functional, and relies on iOS Mail.app for sending and receiving. It also has a key management screen, and allows the creation and import/export of keys to keyservers..Version: 2.0.9

ExcellentThird attempt at reviewing. Accurate this time..Version: 2.9.6

Worth the priceJust started using OpenPGP on my iMac and after reading an article on iPad - iPhone PGP apps, I decided to give this one a try. I did struggle a bit getting it set up but I did get it working fine once this was done. I had a question that was not covered in the support pages and the developer got back to me very quickly and answered my question. A real good sign and I appreciate his help. I would highly recommend this app and have told my friends and family about it..Version: 2.8.3

Useful toolDoes the job nicely, useful utility for ensuring secure emailing..Version: 1.32

IOS LimitationsDue to the limitations on app interaction on iOS this isn't as straightforward as it would be on the desktop, as it involves some cutting and pasting to decrypt messages. That being said it works well and is a fairly tidy interface and certainly a good solution for mobile encryption. recommended..Version: 1.51

Easy to useThis app is great if you are not familiar with PGP or encrypt in Messages. It is very user-friendly and works great!.Version: 3.1.15

It works! Maybe you need a modern UI?Glad that this app is in the IOS store..Version: 3.6.28

Does what it says on the tinWhich is all you could ask for: it's an excellent app if you want GPG on an iOS device..Version: 2.9.6

Best so far for PGPOf all the iPhone apps I’ve tested, this is the best one. The keychain can be edited via import (be sure to remove text outside of the markers) and it can encrypt and sign (take that, GPG4USB). Decryption displays verification immediately. The coding seems to be up to par with RFC 4880. Added bonus: The developer replied promptly to a request I made..Version: 2023.24.1

A sturdy and working appImported my existing keys without an issue and have been able to generate the signed and encrypted emails without an issue. A very functional application, gets the job done without any issues. My only request would be an option to not have the encrypted messages accessible, in plain text, by default via iTunes after they've been decrypted by the application. Overall, great app and a working implementation of OpenPGP that iOS sorely needs!.Version: 1.31

Great little appAfter I explored the custom option for the SMTP settings, everything fell nicely into place. Despite the warning that these settings are 'experimental' the app now works to my entire satisfaction. It allows me to send signed and encrypted email text messages with any attachment I choose from Dropbox. The app is stable and reliable and formats the messages and attachments in a most convenient manner. It is quite compatible with my Enigmail add-on running in the Thunderbird email client on my Windows desktop. It took me some time to learn enough about PGP to utilise the app properly but all is now sweet. Great little app. I can now use my iPad for PGP emails instead of getting the laptop out..Version: 2.6.4

This is the PGP/GPG app to useWorth every star..Version: 3.5.2

Excellent app, great supportIPGMail works great on both my iPhone and iPad 2. I'm very happy with it, and at a reasonable price! It took me a little while to get everything up and running on both devices, due to my having multiple keys, but once that was figured out, it works smoothly and reliably and is very useful for me. The interface is visually great, too, and the prompt, courteous support by the developer cannot be praised enough. A bit more documentation would be helpful. The app is well worth the price and a pleasure to use..Version: 1.21

I've gifted iPGMail again 😊It's a great app! Will does respond to issues quickly..Version: 1.23

Great appSound little PGP app. Works well. The UI is functional but a little old school - would be nice if it were updated. Other than that it's really easy to use. The "copy to clipboard" function is good for copying into chat programs etc :).Version: 2.7.2

Works wellDoes the job nicely. Created keys, and could sign and encrypt messages easily..Version: 1.26

Very good app!App does a great job overall but it doesn’t work with attachments..Version: 2022.8.28

Great appSimple to use. Gets the job done. Thanks..Version: 3.6.30

[update] thanks for the update 🤙[update] working perfectly, I love it, keep it up 🤙.Version: 3.1.11

Works wellNice work.Version: 3.1.8

Has the features most important to meI maintain a GnuPG encrypted file with important information which I share between my Linux and Windows systems. I want to be able to have access to that file anywhere, especially when I’m traveling, when I have my iPad or iPhone. IPGMail allowed me to copy over my encrypted file to both IOS devices along with my secret key file (which I deleted as soon as I imported it), and now I can decrypt and view the file anytime I need the information in it. Exactly what I needed! Previously I had been using OpenGP, but that is no longer available in the App Store and doesn’t work on IOS 12..Version: 3.5.7

Best Value by farI have not tested every app out there, but from the one app I have tested this is the best valued one by far.Version: 3.6.34

Want a notepadThe app is great. It will be better if you can add a notepad to the decrypt page..Version: 3.6.28

One day all PGP software will be this friendly!I have no hesitation in recommending iPGMail to the beginner... I am the epitome of such. This app is so friendly, reliable and easy on finger, eye & pocket! My Netbook has a different PGP application, and thanks to a quick response to my question to iPGMail on 'no key found' I was able to practice sending/receiving email, files & photos - now I am confident in the use of PGP and enjoy SECURE communication with family, friends and colleagues. One day PGP will be embedded in all comms systems but until then, iPGMail for me!.Version: 1.46

Best thing for gnu pgp on the iPhoneDoes not cost a bomb like some others. Is well supported and has nice integration to drop and and others for private key imports of you already have one. Also makes sending privates emails easy and uses the functionality of the default mail app for sending..Version: 2.7.0

Pretty Good ProgramTook about 10 minutyes to get up and running with my existing keys. Tested both encryption and decryptio, worked fine, although did require copy and paste for decryption. User interface could be more intuitive, but when you compare the price with the other email encryption apps - it's a bargain..Version: 1.11

Very good - had a problem with key server lookupIt's been a while since I used iPGmail on an older ipad and it worked fine on my new ipad 2018. I was really pleased that it handled 4K keys without a problem. Key creation is quick and problem-free. The only thing stopping me giving it 5 stars is the menu to add key servers: it insists on making everything HTTPS, whereas there are still some servers out there that aren't. If it could accept server URLs as typed then that would be great!.Version: 3.5.2

Good app, full featuredThe app is a full-featured one, and will allow you to setup PGP for the first time and create your own keys on the app. The other apps in the app store either don't offer this feature or cost a lot more money, so this is quite valuable on its own. The only complaint I have is that PGP in itself is a little difficult to understand and the app doesn't quite explain the process to those unfamiliar with PGP. There's no introduction or wizard when you open the app, so you have to go to the Private Key tab and tap New Key. However, the developer is quick to respond to support emails and the website has a good guide..Version: 2.0.2

The best I've foundThis is simply the best pgp app that I've found for iOS, and I've tried many others. Probably the only gripe that I have is that you can't select the particular symmetric encryption algorithm (when using symmetric encryption) that you want. It simply uses the default algorithm..Version: 3.1.6

Best PGP mail app!I love this app! I’m old school and have been using PGP since version 2.6.x iPGMail rocks.Version: 3.6.30

Good but...Good but... 1. Awkward to import a key from ‘Files’ section - forced to share it to another app, copy it, then paste it into ‘Keys’ 2. No option in settings to prevent it always saving unencrypted files locally, after decryption.Version: 3.5.8

Very nice improvementsI've been using this app for a while and it used to be much more difficult to use, these last few updates have really made it my go to for iOS gpg encryption. With just a few more tweaks it would be flawless. Keep up the good work!.Version: 3.1.6

IOS8 integration well doneWorks even easier now with excellent IOS8 integration. Can't say enough good things about this app..Version: 2.7.2

Look no furtherThis is one of my top two apps and has been for the past couple of years. I looked at various PGP apps and found they were either violently expensive or unnecessarily complex. Then I found iPGMail. It changed my whole workflow. I use it every day to send detailed notes and information to my Mac. Like everyone, I am concerned about security, and iPGMail makes it dead easy to incorporate it into daily life. Even better, the developer is continually updating the product and is open to suggestions for new features. PsiFi.Version: 2.7.2

AwesomeLove it. Perfect for OpenPGP on the go... Just have to test how secure the application is at protecting the Sec Key and if it is held encrypted in the application.Version: 1.26

A++++++++Have used this app since iOS 7 amazingly good Brill easy to use works well any one who can read and follow simple instructions can use this apple should take note and buy this app and intergrate it in to there mail app..Version: 2.9.93

Usable e-mail security on the iPhoneI’m now able to send and receive encrypted and/or signed mails on my iPhone. Importing keys is easily done using AirDrop from a suitable Mac. This warrants 5 stars. I appreciate the challenges of providing crypto without implementing a full on mail application but it does mean the experience is less fluid than it might be. Also, typing passphrases for keys on the phone is tricky - I can type “The quick brown fox jumped over the moon” pretty accurately and quickly on a real keyboard, it’s a pain on the phone. This is why I’m giving four stars - to be clear, If the app were less useful and didn’t enable me to start using encryption, I’d rate this lower. In summary - great for simple things..Version: 2.9.2

Decrypt IssueHey awesome app but I just need help on the pgp decrypt page I pressed the x button on the upper right hand corner by mistake and now I can’t decrypt any messages . Is there a way around this or to reset it please and thank you in advance.Version: 3.6.32

Love it! :D. GET IT!!!This is a cool app that interfaces brilliantly with the default email client to send/read encrypted PGP messages. Note: You can save your key for seven days, so just need to log in by code. Tweak settings. - Great!!! You can send your message as a file, then you just hold on it and Copy to iPGMail. Tweak settings... I think the latest version has fixed two minor issues caused by iOS... :).Version: 3.1.1

Encryption for the masses!Does what it says, similar to openPGP, but it also supports keybase.io!.Version: 3.0.5

Works great! Finally, something useful to decrypt encryption straight from email (share sheet). Indeed, the setup was a little clunky and confusing - like it'd be great if there's a way to import key file, so we don't need to copy paste every time - but once everything is setup, including face ID to unlock private key, then you're good to go..Version: 3.6.38

Nice toolThis is overall a very well made tool. Good key management, good composition, and nice integration with DropBox to import keys. 2 things stopped me giving 5 stars: * Can't create 4096 bit keys in the app -- fine for me as I imported my keys over DropBox, but this option should be available. * Copy/paste to decrypt incoming messages is a bit of a faf. I didn't know I had to copy the message to import it, thought the app was broken when it claimed no message found. Would be nice if it could look at the mailboxes for PGP messages, but I'd expect an iOS restriction would prevent this. Still pleased with the app though :).Version: 1.60

Symmetric encryption worksVery happy to find this, super cool!!.Version: 3.6.9

No secret decoder ring, this.Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) was Phil Zimmerman's brainchild nearly twenty years ago. It is a pleasure to see (and use!) this implementation of the now-standard method for encrypting email. Technology being what it is, sometimes the unwashed masses like me just have to wait for the right guy to come along and make something simple enough to use. This is it. I've been playing with PGP since the mid-nineties in various forms but now I think I've found the app that will allow wide adoption. It's easy. Seriously, the hardest thing about this is remembering how to spell the name of the author. Great job, well worth the money..Version: 1.60

Comfortable and all I need.Although the interface isn't friendly to newcomers, this has been my goto PGP mobile encryption app. I always recommend to friends..Version: 3.0.5

Functional App. Responsive DeveloperVery functional app. The best use of PGP/GPG I have seen so far on iOS. It could do with a heavy UI update, but functionally speaking it is very usable and stable. Developer comes across very attentive and responsive..Version: 1.57

Great app!I agree with the earlier 5 star review. Simple to use. Great tool for encrypting files on DropBox. I now have access to encryption on all my devices..Version: 1.24

Brilliant AppAllows you to import existing PGP keys or generate new pairs - either 1024 or 2048 bits. New keys are generated very quickly - just a few seconds on an iPhone 4S. It is fully integrated with the iPhone iOS Mail App, so there's no cutting and pasting of encrypted attachments - you can use the 'Open In' facility of iOS by downloading the encrypted attachment and using the 'Action' button and selecting 'ipgpmail' - unless the email has embedded encrypted text (no way to avoid this - it's a limitation of iOS) - but even then it's just a couple of keystrokes, so no big deal. You can transfer your public key to existing key servers, search for other colleagues' public keys on those servers or email your public key to colleagues. Interfaces seamlessly with DropBox (not sure why the other reviewers have had problems - no problems on an iPhone 4S with iOS5.1). Very easy to use - comprehensive FAQ and User Guide on the Developer's Web Site, though it's intuitive - particularly if you've used PGP on another platform and therefore understand the basic concept. Well done - a great app and well worth the money!.Version: 1.26

IndispensableLove this app, and use it everyday to decrypt my files. Please keep it up!.Version: 3.1.2

Come on apple sort out the bugsCool app but crashes when using 'open using' when trying to open from ios8 mail app....worked fine in ios7.Version: 2.6.6
