FINAL FANTASY III for iPad(3D) for Negative User Reviews

No feature parity with MFI controllersThe iPhone version of this game seems to support MFI controllers but the iPad version doesn’t, it would be great to see this updated as I had assumed support was present when I first bought my controller.Version: 1.6.4

Controller support? So you’ll give the phone version of FF3 controller support but not the ipad version? I’m just going to stop buying apps from SE because obviously you do not care for your supporters. Why is it SE keeps getting worse and worse with app updates? But they’ll definitely keep their prices up and keep taking eveyone’s money..Version: 2.0.0

No Controller SupportA lack of controller support for this is disappointing. Further research finds that Square Enix doesn’t give controller support a lot. Last purchase from me until they add it in..Version: 2.0.1

No controller supportSeems like a fundamental oversight. Disappointing..Version: 2.0.0

Not compatible with ios 5.0Googgle : Final fantasy 3 ipad crash... And forget this game as it is not compatible with ios 5.0 The game reboot at the same point dor everyone. Wait for a patch.Version: 1.0.0

No soundThere's no sound coming out of the game at all.Version: 2.0.0

Warning: if you are not a fan stay awayI've never played this series so I thought I'd give it a try. I figured if a game cost $17 it should be pretty good. Well it isn't. It is a totl let down. I feel like I'm back in the 80s with monotonous game play, bad sound and boring graphics. Sure back then it was awesome I'm sure but now it's just over priced and bad. I'm sure the die hard fans love it (as I would love Ultima IV) but new players don't even bother, not even for 99 cents. Can I get my money back? Worst iPad purchase ever..Version: 1.0.0

Not bad, but needs workMechanically the game is fine, I haven't run into any bugs so far, but when I bought this game I was looking for an HD final fantasy 3, the changes brought to the characters are wholly unnecessary, and rather jarring. Still, that does not bother me too much, there is, however, one major gripe I have with this game. Why, pray tell, do you use save points? I had thought we had moved beyond the point where one must be in a specific location to save one's game. It is inconvenient in the extreme to only be able to save at specific locations, and half the bosses don't even have save points before them (though perhaps these would be better termed as mini bosses, still, it's ridiculous either way) Add a save anywhere functionality, and I would gladly bump my score up to four or five stars..Version: 1.4.0

Great game - too much $$This is a great game, I finished it in a few days ..... Could have been a lot longer for the price, I was a little disappointed..Version: 1.4.0

Good by tedious. The conversion from the original version to this improved version is pretty good. Controls are great, the story is interesting and in general has that unique Final Fantasy feel about it. I have enjoyed playing this game apart from the fact that you have to spend a ridiculous amount of time levelling up your characters which is a necessity as the enemies quickly become very difficult to defeat. Early on in the game I had to spend at least an hour fighting weak enemies so that I could level up to be strong enough to defeat a sea serpent. Great game but be prepared for hours upon hours of character levelling. Furthermore, to comment on a previous review for this game; FFVII will never come out for iPad as its license belongs to Sony, they will never allow Apple to sell it as they will lose out on the profits gained from people buying it on the PS3 and the PSP :(.Version: 1.4.0

Stealing our money as alwaysShoulda been universal but that wishful thinking coming from square! Shoulda known better... Whatever... Just like they're never gonna fix the iPad 2 chocobo panic glitch! I got a response from square customer support saying "that game was not developed for iPad 2... Try playing it in the system it was designed for... iPad 1" FAIL FAIL FAIL EPIC FAIL! put it on the item description... But of course they won't cuz they want all our money.... Whatever... Wish there was a way to transfer my current file from the IPHONE version which me being the hardcore fan bought at launch... And now I'm being punished by having to start all over and having to pay $17 bux for this. WAY TO GO SQUARE! u truly showed how u appreciate ur fans! Next time make it universal! Once again....FAIL!!!!.Version: 1.0.0

No Controllers? Why does the iPhone version have mfi controller support but this more expensive version doesn't? Once again Square Enix falls short of expectations. Great old games ruined by a lack of updates or at least long gaps between them. I mean come on! Chrono Trigger is one of the best RPGs of all time and it took like 6 months just to update it for retina screens let alone the fact that they allowed the game to have the worst virtual control pad in history and still no mfi support or universal version. Shame once again Square Enix, from someone who has spent thousands on Squaresoft/ Enix products since 1988. Please fire whomever is in charge of your mobile department because they have basically left millions of potential dollars on the table and walked away with people still begging to give more..Version: 1.6.0

Good for entertainment or a distractionI remember playing this game years ago on the SNES I believe it was. I enjoyed it then, and its fairly fun now... the only problems I see are mechanical. For one thing, it is VERY hard to control your movements, particularly when entering/exiting and flying the ship. You don't get the "!" icon to enter until the ship gets upgraded to fly & go under water. The other problem I have is game play...after a certain point it just gets too hard, even for a veteran RPGr like myself. My roommate who claims to be better than me gave up even before I did. Once you get to Doga's Manor the game gets almost impossible. The dungeons available at this level have mobs that hit twice for 1400+ each time and your characters are only at 800+hps means a very short dungeon adventure. Add to that that this is the ONLY Final Fantasy where Phoenix Down is a drop or treasure chest ONLY (not purchased in inns) adds to the difficulty. But for those who complain that the save button is greyed out - you have to go OUTSIDE to save. You cannot save in towns or dungeons, so the save button will be greyed in these areas..Version: 1.0.0

ProblemI have a ipad 2 firmware 4.3.2 and finalfantasy 3 ipad edition music don't work sound works but not the music plz fix this small bug square ....and keep those final fantasy 4 ,5,6 comming to pad edition ...Version: 1.0.0

Classic game with sloppy controlsHaving played the DS version, this port is not bad but certainly not impressive. The controls for the iPad could be much better. The movement stick that appears on screen when you run around gets in the way since it can appear anywhere you slide your finger on the display, and on top of that you have to be standing right on top of an object to interact. This means you'll do a lot of dancing around trying to interact with NPCs and chests, which takes away from the experience. Quicksave and Save was a poor design decision as well. This is not 1990... Players should not have to actively worry about saving their progress in any modernly implemented game. So unless you're a diehard FF/JRPG fan I would not suggest this game because it probably won't be much fun compared to other made for iPad games..Version: 1.1.0

Where's final fantasy 7Who's bothered about final fantasy 4 , I'm sure if you can put Grand Theft Auto on the iPad you can put Final fantasy 7 on it too! That game came out on the ps1 , graphics have far surpassed it now on iOS, whats the hold up, strike while the irons hot as next year pc tablets are coming out and people are gonna buy them to play pc games , Final fantasy 7 included!!!.Version: 1.4.0

Please fix the bug!The game was awesome until I rode on the big bird and accidentally ran to the area behind the molten cave (fire crystal) and landed so the bird ran away. My ship was not nearby, and I couldn't walk down through the two tiny gaps and I was stuck there forever! Please fix this bug and help me out of it. Thank you so much!!!.Version: 1.0.0

NEEDS iCloud sync support badly!Game is ok, there were many bugs previously however they have now fixed all the bugs I encountered. The reason I bought an iPad and iPhone was specifically for iCloud. I liked the idea that I could play on my iPhone anywhere and then pick up where I left off on my iPad when I got home. This version of the game does NOT have iCloud sync for your saved games. It blows my mind that games like Cut the Rope, Zombieville USA2, and Swordigo have iCloud sync but a huge SquareEnix title does not. The entire save game file is a whopping 7Kb... There is no excuse for this laziness. PLEASE add save game sync to iCloud option for FF, FFII, and FFIII in your next update!!! And make sure the iPhone version will sync with the iPad version, many other games do it..Version: 1.4.0

Needs controller supportFun game. The fact that it isn’t compatible with controllers is a big loss..Version: 2.0.1

Not a faithful Port stay clearI was keen to buy it & I did but. "direct port of DS version" hold by wiki here my view. Shameful, wasteful, misleading, halfbaked, pay more then the iPhone of a game not a direct port as people has said "Lies" If final fantasy the war of the lions a faithful port of the PSP version & the world ends with you a faithful port to the DS without the 2 screens both games I recommend. But as for ff3 it missing it's soul no movie intro so how the hell can it be a direct port, will it be a patch to add online & movie intro as I read somewhere. If you want a full game in HD with full intro plus full voice acting with a silly price £1.99 broken sword1 HD is for you. I won't buy any more overprice halfbaked lazy ports by SE..Version: 1.4.0

Overpriced and mediocreA miserable adaptation of a console classic. I'm a big fan of the early Final Fantasy games and was quite willing to put up with idiosyncrasies, but this entry was utterly disappointing. While decent effort is made to update the interface, everything is horribly slow. Most fighting actions take 5-10 seconds to execute and character dialogue is presented slowly as well. You spend most of the game waiting for characters to perform identical animations, fighting the same monsters over and over. You do that in classic Final Fantasy, too, but there's more challenge and everything is much snappier. Most combat actions take several taps in different parts of the screen to perform; even "attack the only enemy left" takes two. Using an item or casting a spell takes 3-6 taps, and you need to do that often. Fortunately navigating the main screen is reasonably done, but that does not atone for the problems with combat, where you spent your time. The story and writing are terrible, failing to create any emotional involvement. I spent most of the game not knowing what was going on, or caring. There is not much exposition, when it happens it is poor and you will want it to end quickly. You are forced to see all cut-screens and read all dialogue without skipping anything. Only one principal character appears to have a personality. If a main character died, it would have been welcome since that would make combat faster. By contrast, I found the various deaths in Final Fantasy 4 (released as 2 in North America) tragic and moving. Graphics are poor. The main characters are reasonably modeled and textured for the throwback style, but most everything else is poorly textured, comparable to mid-1990s 3D before hardware acceleration. Models are recycled often, as are dungeon building blocks. You will see everything many many times. Music is decent as usual, but lacks variety. Sound effects are cookie cutter, lacking imagination or panache. The price is partly justified by this being a full length game that takes many hours to finish, but it's so tedious and repetitive that it's not worth the trouble. To its credit, the game is quite stable, and never crashed on me. If you're looking for a quality iPad JRPG, or RPG, keep looking..Version: 1.4.0

No Controller SupportSadly no controller support for this version of the game forces me to give it a one star review, seeing as I have waisted my money on it. I will go back to playing the iPhone version which does have controller support. Seriously, why can’t you transfer the controller support from one over to the other? You need to take controllers for mobile games seriously and it’s frustrating as a huge fan of Final Fantasy (the only game I consistently play besides Minecraft) to not have a decent way to access the catalog when you are so close. You have provided the support for so many other games flawlessly. I don’t understand the issue, considering you are charging a considerable amount for the game. It would be totally worth it if I had controller support but I feel ripped off and my money was waisted on this purchase. FWI, I purchased this game a while back and am still fuming about it..Version: 2.0.1

Good game but...Lack of auto-save blows... Players are used to this feature and forget to save as often as the old days. Be careful players, once you die, you have to load your MANUALLY saved game. it does not automatically save your progress..Version: 1.0.0

Garbage, don't buy.Choppy animation, camera panning and transitions. Poorly textured graphics and UI. I regret buying this game..Version: 1.4.0

FrustratingNot overly impressed with the game. The 'job' system becomes tedious & having to re-equip your team slows the pace, along with having to convert to mini or toad modes in order to progress. The gamem lacks save points & other aids such as tents, phoenix downs & mp top-ups. I found the difficulty not necessarily harder than other games, but random. I spent additional time building up my team, however often found that a single fatality could be seriously inconvenient & total annihalation to be very unexpected. Relatively weak opponents can attack multiple times or cast harmful magic to all parties. Fun at times and looks great, the touch screen control is welcome, but to be honest it's just not worth the money, especially if easily angered!.Version: 1.3.0

Square Enix is Absolute GarbageI tried Chaos Rings for IPad, disappointed cos the company is selling the same quality game for iPhone separately and calling it HD. There was nothing HD about the iPad version. For this game, I thought I give Square Enix a try for old times sake. SAME DEAL. FF3 for iPad s just a blown up version of what I can assume is for the iPhone. The graphics are highly pixilated and jagged like days before anti-aliasing was available on graphics. Chaos Rings is the same way, and they try to charge you separately for ipad and iphone versions, with the iPad version being more expensive. MAJOR RIPOFF. I am glad I did not buy both versions, but I speculate if you want these games, get the iPhone version, the smaller screen will make the game look much sharper. Square Enix needs to learn from ID Software, maker of Rage, and Chair, maker of Infinity Blade. Now these are good developers, one price, both platforms. Their iPad version games are actually touched up to be called HD. Square Enix IPad VERSION GAMES ARE NOT HD!.Version: 1.0.0

Disappointed...I was not expecting special things in ipad version rather than original. While playing, I felt that the ipad version is only the conversion thing from iphone. Very disappointed. Original should be better enough. If u know about FF series and expect something, do not buy this game. Better wait and buy next....Version: 1.0.0

BeautifulAmazing.... Thisis unlike most ios apps. This app keeps you happy with its amazing display, great storyline, and beautiful graphics. Just like the original game, but, I would say that this game is even better than the original.. This game may be expensive, but, will change your ios gaming experience forever. Even if you don't know final fantasy this game will get you hooked. This is a must have for Final Fantasy addicts :). My advice is to buy this game.. You wont regret it!.Version: 1.3.0

Don't buy itDon't buy any iOS game from square Enix as they may pull them off the shelf..Version: 1.6.4

Crashes on iOS 5The client always crashes after the dragon/desch scene, which is a couple of hours into the game Once you've jumped down from the nest, you cannot start the cut scene in the forest. Shame, because the game seemed good in this form, but it's literally unplayable with this bug. I'm hoping they patch fix it, but I guess it will take a while to get approved, even if they do get round to patching it :(.Version: 1.0.0

Crappy anime graphicsWaste of $10. Thought it would be like Infinity Blade. Uninstalled after short, boring trial. How could this warrant sequels?.Version: 1.5.0

AGame is fine except it won't allow me to save, so after dying once everything restarts from the beginning again, for this price that is not good enough, please fix!!!.Version: 1.4.0

Controller support pleaseThe game is great, and the cloud back up save works between the iPhone version and the iPad version, even though this game is not a universal app. I know the cloud back up save works because I accidentally bought the iPhone version to play on my iPad, thinking that it was a universal app just as the rest in the series on the App Store. I was using my mfi controller when I discovered that I bought the iPhone version, and the controller worked great. But since I wanted the iPad version, I contacted apple for a refund to buy the version I wanted. When I bought the iPad version, I was surprised that there was no controller support! I do not want to contact apple again for a refund in order to play a version with controller support, especially since the iPad is the more likely platform to use a controller with. In short, please add controller support to this great game. Thank you.Version: 1.6.4

No controller supportGreat game, but please add support for controllers..Version: 1.6.4

Not worth itI have to admit the graphics are amazing but you can't save whenever you want and it's all pretty unclear. You could seriously spend your money on something better on the app store.Version: 1.4.0

DS graphics on the iPadThe graphics in this port could have been much better, the textures are quite low resolution. However, the controls are excellent, much better than in the first Final Fantasy and FF2 on iOS..Version: 1.0.0

GoodIt's a good game so far! Only problem, why can't u buy Phoenix downs or find them more often, or learn a spell for revival?????? So dumb..Version: 1.4.0

Controller support?Got a cutscene 8 months ago, but still no controller support?.Version: 2.0.0

.....All good, until finally I got the ship and stuck in the ocean forever without be able to disembark... Or is it just me?.Version: 1.3.0

Buy something else with your moneyThe cost is astronomical. If you compare this to the likes of Aralon HD where the graphics are superb - final fantasy graphics are basic to say the least and the operation of the character primitive. If I could get my money back I would. There are a few very good role play games out there but this is years behind them. Don't pay the money. Look at Aralon or Ravensword before forking out for this. It's just not worth it!.Version: 1.1.1

Quite fun!Well I can honestly rate this app to three stars, Even though it's my first time playing this final fantasy series, I found that the game actually works fine, It does have a minimal set of controls that everybody can handle, and the fun of all is that you are actually playing this game anytime! Every where you want. I have noticed that some players that gives review regarding the graphics and blah blah blah.. All I can say is every ff series should not be blame to it's graphics and game features, As an opinion and as a RPG MASTER I encourage everyone here to play with your HEART not just your eyes and ears would inherit the game itself, So have a great experience playing this app. One thing more!!! Just like the clan oath said TO THE FIELD OF JUSTICE!!!!!.Version: 1.3.0

Poor textures for such an expensive gameI like the game, but I'm not awed by it, gameplay is repetitive and even dull after a while. Graphically, the textures are VERY low quality for a game that costs WAY MORE than it should. Square Enix needs to have a long think about their miserly prices in comparison with their competitors..Version: 1.0.0

Beware the iPad version, no controller supportI mistakenly bought this game thinking it was a universal app and that I could use an MFI controller like on the iPhone version. Well, you can't. I can't fathom why Square-Enix would have controller support for a 4-6 inch screen display, but not for the larger iPad screen. I'm guessing they won't ever update this either. I also noticed the opening cutscene that plays in the beginning of the game menu is gone and it's just the word version. Not sure why they removed it but there's some really bonehead decisions going by on around here. Just beware before you purchase. Technically I should blame the Nimbus companion app for not clarifying that FFIII controller support is only on the iPhone, but yeah....Version: 1.6.4

Help! Can I use this app on the iphone?Help! Can I use this app on the iphone? It's not showing up in my itunes to transfer to the phone. Please help!.Version: 1.6.0

CheapThe remaster itself is very good, however the game is still the most cheap final fantasy I have played out of about the 10 I have played. If you do not like level grinding, then this game definitely isn't for you, but even given that notion this game has some bosses that will 1-hit your entire party almost regardless of your level, if you are unlucky. Get final fantasy 5, it is a more balanced game that still keeps the job system but has less grinding and has much more fair boss battles..Version: 1.6.4

Sort the bugs out, I would like a refund!I love this game but unfortunately every time I try to enter the gnome village it causes the iPad to crash, and goes back to the home screen. Very disappointing for a £10 app. I would have thought that an app that cost this much would be bug free and tested. Please fix this and I will re rate the app. I think that this is a 5 star app if it actually worked. Update I've just ditched the 3 hours it took me to get to the gnome village and started again, I've got to the same spot in 2 hours now, only to experience the same bloody glitch/bug. How do you claim to get a refund? I love this game but £9.99 to play 2.5 hours is shocking..Version: 1.0.0
