FINAL FANTASY III for iPad(3D) for Positive User Reviews

Great buyIf you like final fantasy and turn based gaming buy it now!.Version: 1.0.0

Fantastic!I've always been a fan of the FF series, but you can imagine my excitement when I stumbled across this beauty on the app store! Smooth graphics, good quality audio, excellent control system, and fantastic gameplay! Only down side is the difficulty :) Well worth 9.99 (oh, and don't be confused by the credits popping up after the first chapter...it goes on forever!).Version: 1.0.0

Supports only the IPad unlike some of the other FF which support both the iPad and the iPhoneI just got the iPhone 7 plus and tried download all of the Final Fantasy versions to it finding out that this is iPad version is not supported unless I pay another $15 for no major difference. I'll still give it 4 of 5 stars because it is still a great game..Version: 1.6.4

A fun game - perfect for the iPad!I have not been a gamer until now - but this is a very user-friendly game - that is easy to play, has adversaries not too difficult to eventually overcome and this game is easy to learn. Being able to play this on the iPad makes the experience so easy - no annoying consoles and equipment to set up!.Version: 0

AmazingAmazing game just like the original on a better screen! Worth every penny!.Version: 1.6.0

I love this game... Square add auto battleI love this game a lot. The graphics are crisp, the Helvetia font is good. The audio is also great but this game need auto battle due to grind sessions . Square I get that this is a port but you can still add something special , Square I know that you are busy but check back on the app games. The improvements are needed in this game. The reason why this is 5 star it is because this game is so great that all flaws don't matter. Also people After the first boss wait until the credits end the game will start ok? But anyway these flaws are petty I think this game is still good I give this game a 9.9/10 (due to the bugs) this game is a MUST.Version: 1.5.0

Great gameYou can easily get lost in this game. Hours go by in the constant levelling up and looting :) And, you don't even feel shame :P Get all the jobs!!! ^.^.Version: 1.5.0

Enjoyable plays wellEnjoyable game, on par with the ds version on a bigger screen. Well worth the money.Version: 1.6.4

Perfect platform for this! After playing other iPad games and finding myself disappointed with the controls, I was skeptical that this would work well. But after putting in about 8 hours on this game, the iPad's touch screen is PERFECT for Final Fantasy games. In fact, I'd even go as far as to say it's better than using a standard controller. On the console-based Final Fantasy games, you have to use the d-pad to move a pointer around to select the menu item you want. On the iPad, you just touch it. It's beautiful. I hope to see more of these in the future..Version: 1.1.1

Amazing Game!!What can i say amazing FF game new graphics look & feel great really suit the game, well executed on the iPad, controls feel really natural and easy to use. Im really looking forward to further FF games being released for iPad. FF IV would look awesome so would FF V & FFVI & if they ever released FF VII, VIII, IX then i think the App store would crash as thousands of fans would rush to download them. To have a collection of FF games all together on one device is just awesome hope it becomes a reality. Well done Square Enix i am very impressed so far keep up the good work..Version: 1.0.0

Yes!I was hating playing the iPhone version on the iPad and I really couldn't care about paying again, god knows how much went into porting this in the 1st place let alone what me might get in the future.Version: 1.0.0

Is it going to come? Are they going to release FF7 on iPad? That's the one I'm waiting for..Version: 1.3.0

Very goodCould do with an iPad 2 lick of paint and universal app status (especially for the price) but there's no denying this is a great game on iPad! Oh and where is the DS intro!?!.Version: 1.0.0

Best rpg of App Store? This game definitly worth $17. It's a Great game and the fans gonna love it. Please, make a remake of FF7 on iPad!.Version: 1.0.0

Excellent RemakePlease, add controller support, is the only thing missing!.Version: 2.0.1

Great gameIt's like playing on a DS. Graphics are not that great but not bad enough to not enjoy the game. Not buggy or laggy at any part. :) i would want the FFII to be on ipad as well after this one..Version: 1.1.0

Awsome RemakePlayed the DS version and it was a great and now the transition to Ipad is awesome. Wondering what happened to the CG opening cutscene though. Those CG sequences have alway been one of the highlights to the Final Fantasy series. Looking forward to other ports..Version: 1.4.0

As great a port can get.A really solid port of a classic turn-based RPG. If you are in need of a traditional adventure, with high replayability due to the in-depth job system, then purchase this game right away..Version: 1.6.0

Definitely worth your money. This is a great remake and its now available on my iPad, sweet. Game deserves a 5. Complaint: This is a direct port from the nintendo DS remake, which makes some features feel forced. For this reason i rate this game a 4 because of Square Enix's decision to be lazy. Other things you may need to note. *Buying the iPad version does not mean you can play it on iPhone, nor does the iPhone version play on iPad, the purchases are separate. **********Apparently People can't figure out the quick save feature.************* People need to read, plain an simple. When you quick save you do not save to a file but a temporary file which has only one function and that is to keep your current State. This means when you start the application again you must choose continue. if you choose any other file the state is lost. If you load the State then the State is Erased. Means you can't Die and load the state again. * FF3 was one of the toughest games in my memory and the quick save feature was not available in the original. It's not meant to be used as a restart point incase you enter a dungeon under leveled or as a save point before a boss. In other news "Life isn't fair" :'(.Version: 1.5.0

Simply awesomeNever played this FF before and I've enjoyed every minute of it. I haven't had a single issue with this game. Very much looking forward to future releases on the ipad if they are going to be of this quality. Well worth the money, looks great and controls work beautifully..Version: 1.3.0

AwesomeBit disappointed I've had to pay for this twice on iPhone and iPad and it wasn't universal, but awesome game, a must have for any true RPG or FF fan. Chaos Rings may look pretty, but this is the daddy. Can't wait for FF7. P.S you have to save on the world map, for all you noobs out there. It's such an Immense game, if you haven't played it or a classic FF game before, I really would suggest you bookmark a walkthrough/guide as this does have the potential to overawe you and leave you stuck and frustrated, a little guide will keep you on board for the whole game rather than getting stuck and never playing again..Version: 1.0.0

Awesome!Really happy with this app, maybe a bit overpriced considering the age of the game but one of the better RPGs available on the iPad. Definitely consider if you're a fan of the final fantasy series..Version: 1.4.0

Excellent Job, Square-Enix!Crystal Defenders: Not universal. Chaos Rings: Not universal. Notice a trend here? I can't for the life of me figure out why people are giving this game a rating of any less than four stars. Especially for that stupid " You should make it universal" bull. None of Square-Enix's games are universal. NONE. What on Earth made you think that it would be different for this game? Also to other commenters, how come I knew that there would be an iPad version and thus waited? A simple trip to ANY GAME OR IPHONE SITE would have revealed that grand mystery to you. That's why you can't go by ratings here on the App Store. You have morons giving one-star reviews for idiotic reasons. Anyways, on to the game. I own this game in all of its iterations on all of the consoles on which it appears. I think this is my favorite version. Final Fantasy fans will not be disappointed! Excellent job Square-Enix! Now bring on all of the other numbered versions up to IX, as well as Tactics!.Version: 1.0.0

Final Fantasy III yippee!!!At last I can relive my younger days!! Is it as good as I remember...better, this is where Square Enix excelled, RPG at it's very best. Other software houses have copied what Square Enix seemed to have forgotten in later years, and that is...it does not matter how small a game is memory wise, as long as it keeps opening up and giving...whilst avoiding that linear "feeling". This is what the early games gave the RPG world, you started with a limited playing area and as you got stronger your playing area expanded, to the extent you "needed" fast land transport chocobo's or flying airships to fly over seas, and Square made you get attached to your characters and equipment, this is my air/land ship, I've earned it and now I can revisit...anywhere in the FF world. Is it worth the price tag? Absolutely, If you are new to Final Fantasy then there is only one word of warning, the battle sequences are frequent and necessary, stick with it and the game will reward you every step of the way, These early incarnations of the Final Fantasy series were a bit blocky in their original format, my first reaction when I saw it available for download was: remake... Mmmmm, been there, seen them, 9 x out of 10 I've been disappointed, this is a great remake, no plot change, just an update on the graphics and cut scenes that bring FFIII into the 21st century, fit again for a whole new generation to enjoy..Version: 1.0.0

Awesome much?In terms of game quality this is an undeniable 5 star rating. The interface is smooth and intuitive, the game play is great and the music improves the experience. If you like RPGs even a little bit, you will love this game. The price is pretty hefty but let's face it, there are advantages to being an old school final fantasy game. These games set the bar for all others to come. Those rating this game under 4 stars aren't rating on any sort of fair basis. Stop whining about having to buy the iPad version after buying the iPhone version. You didn't have to do anything!.Version: 1.0.0

Save game solution? To do a proper full save wait until you are on the world map and not inside a cave or village and open the menu and the save button will be able to be used. Quick auto or manual saves can be easily lost if u choose the load option on the title menu instead of the continue button so I always use full saves. Hopefully this fixes your problem.Version: 1.4.0

ImpressiveVery impressive game for the ipad, 3d is a bit comedy in places, original pixels would have been quite interesting but probably less popular. Control mechanism is very easy to use, setting a standard attack for the mobs would be a welcome feature, tapping through to fire each time can get a bit tedious..Version: 1.0.0

Fantastic RPGFull screen and smooth even on old iPad 3. Highly recommend it. Get it now while it's 50% off..Version: 1.6.4

AmazingThis game is absolutely fantastic. Easily worth the £10 price tag. Loving every second of it. Ff fans rejoice. Hoping they release ff-tactics!.Version: 1.0.0

Fantastic game A+This a undeniably fantastic game on the iPad. I can see no down falls for this game. This game will keep you immersed for hours through its gameplay, story lines and battles. I would say the graphics are great for a game like this, though if this game had been made for hd you would be talking 11Gb in size to just house a game of this size. Average gameplay is 24+ hrs. I won't spoil the end though the glass mirrors was a great cutscene. (This is commented to be the hardest FF.) This game is heavily recommended for Final Fantasy gamers from the 1-6 generation. And anyone else who enjoys deep gameplay with enjoyable characters..Version: 1.5.0

Great remasteredFF is one of my all time favorite series and being able to play 3 on the iPad remastered is a real treat. The graphics look great and are stunning considering the original came out in the late 80s early 90s. Having changeable jobs in a turn based game gives added strategy without worry about every battle taking an hour ahem ff tactics. The system is very fluid and the touch controls are almost perfect sometimes your touch won't register if you go to fast that's the only problem I've encountered with them. I have found one glitch that needs to be fixed if you park your ship near castle argus and take a chocobo to the south east mountain chain and try to squeeze through it sometimes pushes you and the chocobo(yellow) onto the sea where you walk around the only way back on land is a river on the opposite side below the mountain chain you can't glitch back to your ship and are stuck on the area near tokkul and the city of ancients. The only way to fix is to revert to your last save before glitching which is very frustrating as I beat castle hein while separated from my ship and was unable to continue..Version: 1.0.0

Money well spentAwesome game, just remember to save every chance you get.Version: 1.4.0

Worth itWorth every penny.Version: 1.5.0

Excellent portWas skeptical at first due to comments, tried it out, very good game. Graphics are a tad grainy as it was from DS, but is smooth and stable. Save feature works, but you can only save your game in the main world menu, quicksave is useless. I am thrilled that square is porting games to iPad, get this one for sure, you won't be disappointed. Great music, controls are easy and simple, everything runs fast, loads quick..Version: 1.4.0

ExcellentGreat game and fantastically brought to the iPad, can we have 1 and 2 as well?? £10 is also a little expensive....Version: 1.0.0

Help and reviewAbsolutely quality game, although I am having trouble with saving does anyone know how to save your progress. A quick save is all I can do and if ya die, you have to start over. Apart from that 5 stars and please skip to number VII!!.Version: 1.0.0

AmazingAmazing I hope we can see more of the final fantasy series for iPad.Version: 1.4.0

Days of enjoymentThis is a really big game - so good I bought the iPad version after completing it on the Samsung Galaxy III. Only minor issue is graphics were better on Galaxy SIII than iPad 2..Version: 1.4.0

Great port, why not Universal? This is a great game to have on the iOS platform, and is going to keep me entertained for a good number of commutes over the next year. One gripe - there is absolutely no reason why this can't be a universal app. I have an iPod Touch and would love the flexibility of syncing to both devices, especially for £10 a pop. Hopefully Square update this but i'm not holding my breath. A slight knock against a great game..Version: 1.0.0

Fantastic remake! This is a superb remake of now very old FFIII. Graphics are superb, playability and iPad optomisation are second to none. Is it really expensive? Massive amounts of gameplay, and not everybody wants yet another FPS which demands a £500 graphics card purchased every 6 months! This is pure storyline and gameplay. Can't wait for further releases from Square Enix..Version: 1.0.0

Has merit.Pros: this game brings me back to being a kid, when I would spend hours in front of the tv playing RPGs. Also, I like the updated graphics. Cons: There are two ways to save the game. One is called quick save. This allows you to save anywhere, Instead of just outside. Nice, but if you load a game saved outside, you lose the progress saved using quick save. There should be a warning tickler. Also, I find having to level up rather tedious. Newer RPG's don't expect this as much, and it takes away from the gameplay..Version: 1.0.0

The best Final Fantasy in App Store so farGreat remake of classic NES with 3D graphic. Gameplay is hold on to the original very tight, which mean less explanation on things that modern game would have done. A bit more explanation on the game mechanics and interface would be nice. The textures use in the game look low resolution when zoom in. It could have been improve when ported to iPad. Overall, highly recommend for JRPG fan, and a must buy for Final Fantasy fans..Version: 1.0.0

MediocreThe story is good, it’s nice you thought of this for iPad, now people like me can enjoy this. It would be nice if you could remove the credits during cutscenes, they kinda mess up the feel. I have one question— how do you turn your guys into Toads so I can do the tower. Overall, great game, and it’s FREE so AMAZING job.Version: 2.0.0

Best Game on IpadThis is, hands down, the best game you can buy for your Ipad. The controls are near flawless, as is the rest of the port. This is one of the best Final Fantasy games made. It began the beloved job system, which has been incorporated in so many games after it. I do see a lot of complaints about being able to save correctly and frankly, this is not the game's fault, but merely user error. The game offers a "quicksave" option which is really handy if you have to turn the game off for something spur of the moment. The game also offers the traditional save on the world map and at certain points in the game. Seriously, I know $15 sounds like a lot for an app, I didn't buy it for the longest time because of the pricetag. But you aren't getting some half-assed app some computer science major programmed in his basement. You're buying a game from one of the most respected names in gaming. 5 stars, buy this game stupid..Version: 1.4.0

Brilliant AdaptionDespite being a massive fan of the Final Fantasy series even I was put off by the £9.99 price tag. But I decided to get it anyway and I am very glad I have. This is not just a simple conversion of the classic 1990 game. But a complete reworking with good graphics and sound. The biggest problem with iPad games is the controls and interface. I have hundreds of games on my iPad which I have only played once or twice because the interface does not draw me in. However they have really thought this through on this game. the controls are easy to use in a simple but very effective system. It's actually a pleasure to use these controls and I really enjoy the menu system. As for the game itself. Well only just started but already enjoying the story. What can I say. It's Final Fantasy and if you like Final Fantasy games then you will love this one. 5 Stars.Version: 1.0.0

More please!I am happy to have my iPad just for this game....excellent remake with great controls. I look forward to playing all my old favorites on here (7 or 9 next please ;)).Version: 1.0.0

Awesome!Got this by chance when it was released and from what I've seen so far it is awesome and addictive. Admittedly there is a noticeable lack of any kind of tutorial or help which would have been a nice feature and I had to restart from scratch a bunch of times because I couldn't figure out how to save. (You save when you're wandering in the wild btw). Roll on FF7 :) I'd pay alot more then a tenner for that..Version: 1.0.0

Best purchase on iPad I've ever madeOriginally an NES game from 1990, this is an epic RPG that stands the test of time. It's also been rereleased to the Nintendo DS for $40 as well as iOS for $15 so you can't complain about the price here. The graphics aren't FF13 level, but it is has its own beauty. I was a bit skeptical of the interface at first, thinking it'd be clumsy and difficult, but the developers made good use of the touchpad so controlling your character is smooth and easy. The game's world is massive and free roaming, the character types and leveling is complex, tons of equipment to acquire, and the story is deep. It takes at least 40-50 hours to beat the story, unless you're more thorough like me. I took 90 to beat the main story on first playthrough and now I'm on my second going for 100% complete. Its gonna take a while. After the main story there's optional quests and a hidden dungeon which I haven't gotten to yet. Battles are strategy-turn-based and similar to Pokemon except with up to 4 fighters on your side at once, and you encounter enemies as your roam the world. 29 main story bosses and many many dungeons. FF3 is a classic Japanese RPG, and one of the greatest of its time, and maybe ever. Ask your parents or skip lunch and buy this game. The best purchase on iPad I've ever made. Well worth the hours of fun..Version: 1.5.0

A joyful experience with a difficult learning curveI really enjoy the original final fantasy games, back when they were simple and addictive. I love this remake of the ff3 how it has been graphically updated and the controls refined to perfection. Sure there are times where you find yourself investing many hours just to strengthen your characters to continue the story, because there does happen to be a huge difficulty ark after every boss, I've still not beaten the final boss. What would be a nice feature in an update would be to be able to save in dungeons because I despise having to waste magic to get out of a dungeon so I can save I can deal with it to heal but to save no. I really love the variety this game has because there are many classes your characters can become my favorites being the ninja, onion knight, and magus. If there was a way to lower the bosses strength just a little that would be nice for younger and not so patient players, but it also one of the most addictive qualities to ff3. I'd like to see more classes, weapons, and perhaps a way to actually change armor, you may have steel armor on and it comes off as your character looking as the default, and perhaps an easy setting and definitely in the future see the release of ff 4. Overall it is a wonderful five star game and I subject buy it now.Version: 1.1.0

Rpg fanI wasn't going to buy this because of the high price, but I'm glad I did! It was worth it, despite the fact that it still hurts that I payed £10 for a app. Just put us out of our misery and remake ff7 please! Remaster the graphics, make it a even longer game with more character side story's, wedge loads of new content in it release it for ps3 and watch the sales go through the roof..Version: 1.0.0

BarristerOxford barrister says great. A must have game for your iPad . You won't regret it. Purchase it now. What you waiting for..Version: 1.0.0

Haha really?Ok so that one review with 1star got most of it right... The dialogue can use a bit of a speed up(in the options) and yes some of the fights animations are over used but this game is very close to the original. I find the controls are not always precise but that could be because of my fat fingers. That all said I'm not going to spend the entirety of my night typing on a 10inch screen and get carpel tunnel. If your looking to have that original fun you did when this game came out 20years ago then I would totally suggest it. It's still hella fun and you don't have to worry bout always saving. I dunno if it was the developer or just the iPad but I just close or shutoff my iPad and I can just go to continue. Where as before you would have to find open sky to save or risk losing everything. Get it Worth it.Version: 1.4.0

What is the differenceI already have final fantasy lll on the iPad what is the difference between this one that says it is for the iPad and the one I already have. Final fantasy rocks.Version: 1.6.4

Just brilliant.Ok so I'm gonna keep this short: Pros: - Great story so far, addictive. - Great RPG elements. - Good graphics. - Great soundtrack. - Down right fun. Cons: - Dialogue can be excruciatingly slow and tedious. - Walking around can be tedious. - Often hard to determine where you have to go. Possible improvements: - Perhaps a quest log. - A texture improvements - some textures look horrific. - The ability to speed up dialogue by pressing the dialogue box. This will be updated as I progress through the game. All the cons I've mentioned could potentially be due to tiredness as I've been playing for the past 1.5 hours and the time now is 11:20pm. Thank you for reading..Version: 1.0.0

Love this game!!!This is a truly great game and I can't find any faults with it. It's a great way to pass the time and it keeps me entertained for hours. I would defiantly recommend this game to any body that likes strategy games or role playing games. Planning on downloading the latest one on iPad ( FF 5 ) and also can't wait for FF 7 to be available on iPad ( if it ever is available!!!).Version: 1.5.0

More please :)What an absolutely great game for IPad. I love the tap concept and not having to use my left hand all the bldy time. Well done for a great game. Four & five please!.Version: 1.4.0

Love the 3d remakeOnly missing a star because this doesn't include the FMVs from the DS version..Version: 1.6.0

If only squaresoft would redo all classicsAmazing amazing How much am I impressed? Even though I didn't enjoy the touch control I gave this game 5 stars. Simply because if you haven't played this or u did ur going to definitely enjoy it. The graphics are amazing on the iPad . Sounds are good, wish if there were character sounds. Graphics details could be better ,but I am happy like this. Wish there were more side quests, something that could let u enjoy 99 hrs of gameplay..Version: 1.0.0

Good useThat's great.....Version: 1.4.0

Worth Every PennyI am an adult who played the original Zelda games on the original NES but never played Final Fantasy. This game is worth every penny! I think this could be enjoyed by kids 8 or 9 through adult. I have been playing it for about 3 weeks. There is so much content and it is high quality it is worth the price. Plus you can take it with you on the go with the Ipad instead of the old console and the controls are superb. Pretty easy. Great epic adventure game which you will spend a lot of time exploring different worlds. It also is not truly violent so it does not seem harmful for kids. My kids enjoy following the story as well although it is too complicated for my 6 year old to play without much adult help. If she were a few years older she would be able to play this..Version: 1.5.0

AwesomeI'm not to far Ingame but so far so good, looks excellent and controls work well... Now Square-Enix pull you finger out and port/remake FF8 and FF9.. I don't care about 7 it's on just about everything anyway so how much more can people be assed to play that overrated rpg..Version: 1.3.0

Excellent game!Awesome gameplay, very happy with my purchase. Was a little standoffish to play this 3D version but I am very glad I did. Not a good game for those who hate level grinding because you have both character level and 23 job levels to master (though, you certainly don't HAVE to grind all jobs and character level to 99.) Well worth purchasing, any Final Fantasy fan will enjoy the game. Game mechanics are virtually flawless..Version: 1.6.4

Great rpgThis is an awesome game. I have been looking for a final fantasy game for a while, and this was the one. Don't be put off by the high price tag, because remember, if this game was for ds or psp it would probably be $39.99. The whole manual save issue is annoying, and you can't even save in caves or towns! An update for the saving issue would be appreciated..Version: 1.0.0

Saving a painSaving is still a pain but overall the game is like I remember, fun and absorbing. It seems to take quite a toll on my ipad battery though, draining up to 30% of the charge in about 25-30 minutes. I also, don't understand why the opening credits only appear after the first boss is defeated. This seems somewhat confusing..Version: 1.0.0

Better than the actual DS versionTbh, this is a lot better than playing it on the DS. Easy to get bonus things and the graphics are just incredible! Luv u square Enix! Please port ff7,8 and 9. :).Version: 1.3.0

Great improvements, missing key feature... still no controller support o.0.Version: 2.0.0

ControlerIs this version of the game going to be able to use controller. The Iphone version can but the iPad version should also need controller access..Version: 2.0.0

Pretty funQuite a good game, my only problem is it is very lacking with directions....I know it's a remake but very rarely is there any indication of where to go next..Version: 1.5.0

HelpWhere do you go after the boat and can someone explain the magic sometimes it works an sometimes it doesn't.Version: 1.0.0

One of the bestThis is maybe one of the best FF game of the serie, if not the best. Do not be afraid by the "high" price tag. This is a real game that will last many hours. Most of the games that has been ported to the iPad, are games that has been designed to be played with a controller, but FF3 seems to has been designed to be played with a iPad and not with a controller! If you love RPG, you should get this one for sure..Version: 1.0.0

Best version on iPadAbsolutely glorious, and works just smoothly on iPad 2. Now, Square Enix, get FF4 on here!.Version: 1.4.0

BrilliantFor this game is a must have. Te quick save feature is nice but to save the game fully you need to be in a place outside. Adding the feature where you can save the game anywhere would be great. Played more than 60hrs and not had any problems. Nice and simple straightly game to simply pass the time or for if you wish play a lot longer..Version: 1.4.0

Great classic!Im not a massive JRPG fan but FF3 is great! Im 3hrs in now and am loving it. An included manual would be nice though. Bring on FF7 for iPad i say!.Version: 1.0.0

Coooooooool game but overpriced. This is the sort of game I've been waiting for to be released on the iPad, an rpg. This game has many hours of game play just like a normal rpg. I haven't gotten bored for this game, very happy with the results, just thinking now this game may be a bit over priced as we don't get any game box, disc, manual, etc, we are just paying for the game, disappointed with pricing, but really happy with gameplay, graphics and the way the touch screen has been utilized for this game..Version: 1.0.0

Best game yet!!!Wohoooo.... Game that everyone MUST play... Recommended!!! Forget the price, just play!!!.Version: 1.0.0

Enjoyed thoroughly!Final Fantasy III is one the last FF games that I have downloaded from the Apple store. Mostly because I heard that it was slow (it is a bit at the beginning) and that the final dungeon is very long & difficult (yes it’s a bit lengthy but by that time the game becomes really challenging & fun). Just prepare well, save often, and if you are like me and don’t want or have time to slog around looking for where to go next, there are several free guides & walkthroughs online that will help. Probably a bit antiquated compared to more modern FF games, but I really think that if you enjoy classic RPG (I remember playing Ultima which gives you an idea of how old a gamer I am) you will most likely enjoy FF III. Great graphics, awesome music, and after the obligatory warm-up it becomes a wonderfully unique game playing experience..Version: 1.6.4

Bring on more! This game along with chaos rings shows this the one genre of games which work flawless on a touch screen platform. Jrpgs really benefit from this input method, gone are the days of moving a joy stick on and down repeatedly to get to the action you want to do, with the touch interface the battle system is a lot more fast pace. The game looks great and plays very well, bare in mind this is a nes game some of the features are dated just a warning. This is the best version of the game. The perks of the ds version without all the mognet nonsense. Really hope they make iPad versions of 1 and 2. Then port ds version or 4 over. All I have left is iron giant and I have done everything in the game which has taken me 55 hours so far..Version: 1.0.0

Fantastic gameGreat game for final fantasy fans, I started on FF VII on PS3, this was a great reminder of that game play, worth every penny and hope for more releases soon!! :).Version: 1.1.1

Not controller compatibleGreat game, but while almost all the other ff games are compatible with game pads, this one isn't. Hope they'll fix it soon..Version: 1.6.4

A staggered release hurts this versionFinal Fantasy III is an amazing game and the transition to the iOS devices makes this the near definitive version of the classic (I say 'near' since this release is missing the CG opening sequence found in the DS version, a small annoyance but not necessary). However my two gripes with this is that I paid $37 for both versions. At the time of FF3 for iPhone's release, there was no indication of an iPad version coming out at the time until AFTER the game's release, which I happened to be one of those unlucky few that got the news after I had already purchased it, especially since I was hoping for it to transition to a universal app. Seeing as how Apple's policy states that I cannot be refunded for digital content, I feel ripped off. I hope in the future, Square Enix would avoid doing "staggered releases" as they did with this game if they plan on making an iPhone and iPad version of their games and release them on the same day so as to not cause confusion (and in turn, make it look like they did it deliberately). I wouldn't care paying $25 for a "universal app" of any of their games, but buying two different versions where you would not even be able to sync save files between devices is pretty lame..Version: 1.0.0

Solid RPGHaving not played a FF RPG (or any, for that matter) in years, I made the same quicksave vs save mistake that a few people are referencing below. Quicksave does not store your data into a save file -- you would only use quicksave if, for example, you needed to respond to an email and didn't want to keep FF running in the background. If you're only using quicksave and your party dies, you will lose everything. You can only use the Save function if you are in the field, I.e. not in a dungeon or city. The credits play after you defeat the first boss but that's not the end of the game -- there are many hours of gameplay left. Seems to me that there will be a fair amount of grinding in this game. Grinding refers to battling weaker opponents over and over again to level up before advancing to the next boss or dungeon. I get why that's a turnoff for some RPG players but to me it comes with the genre, and FF offers some creative ways to go about it -- experiment with different jobs early on, for example. Only complaints are that the graphics can be updated to take more advantage of the iPad's capabilities, but I get that this is an adaptation and not a remake. The controls can occasionally be a little erratic but what can you do, you're not playing with a joystick. Overall, great game and glad to see that there are gaming options for my next long airplane ride besides Angry Birds....Version: 1.4.0

BrilliantFantastic port of a great games. Can be difficult at times. Well worth the money..Version: 1.4.0

A must-have for any fan of the seriesI remember playing the first FF on my 8-bit Nintendo, and loving playing through it again when it was released for the Game Boy Advanced. This is like that -- a glorious blast from the past on my modern mobile gaming device. I'm already losing sleep to this game, just like I did when I was a kid. This is far in a way the best iPad RPG I've ever played..Version: 1.3.0

Really great game! Can be hard but still, fun to play when bored or playing for long lengths of time. LOVE IT!!!.Version: 1.3.0

Same old funSame old game, new graphics, almkst same version as Nds one. But what a game!! The best job system so far! I wish one day we will be able to play all of thoses old Final Fantasy with this quality of graphics and sound! Thanks Square!!.Version: 1.0.0

Mfi support pleaseUpdate very Nice but ipad pro mfi impossible.Version: 2.0.0

SuperbQuite simply, if you like Final Fantasy, then get this - the story is simple but engaging and gameplay is brilliant. Great to play on the iPad. Buy it!.Version: 2.0.0

Awesome! This is a great game! Can't wait for the next one, a little repetitive at times, but overall a must buy..Version: 1.0.0

ExcellentThe best game I have bought for the Ipad. It's expensive but worth every penny. Hours and hours of gameplay..Version: 1.1.0

How to SaveThis is my third console that i'm playing this game on. How you save is the same on all of them. You can only save on the field map. Whilst in a closed location such as a cave or castle you will be unable to save. It is not a bug or a glitch that you can't save in a closed location. this is something that will never change..Version: 1.4.0

AwesomeI've never played FFIII before (I started on 8, then 7, then 10 etc), but I was really impressed with this. The only thing wrong with it is that you can't save while inside a building/village/dungeon etc, which is REALLY annoying. You can ONLY save while in the wild. Other than that, this is an awesome game and well worth the money. Square, PLEASE make FF7 + FF8 for IOS - I would pay good money for both!!.Version: 1.0.0

Instructions on saving are misleadingThe notes on Saving in the Control Hints specifically say “Auto quicksave automatically saves your progress as you play the game.” So I naturally assumed that there was some kind of autosaving happening as I was playing the game. So I was shocked to discover after dying at the very beginning of the cave in Kazus that there was no autosave data I could resume from and I had to start playing the game over from the very beginning. These instructions about saving are extremely misleading. What if I had been playing the game for a lot longer before dying for the first time and then discovered I had to restart the game from the beginning?.Version: 1.6.4

AWESOMETo the few that rated this low since they assumed the game is bugged with closing credits after the first boss: wait a few minutes for the Opening credit to end. This is good ole japanese turned based rpg that will gives hours of hours of play and a classic series. The price is steep but if you looking for a game in this genre, it is worth it. Having a complete final fantasy not requiring a console rocks. Some see it as a flaw but those familiar with this style of gaming are accustomed to designated saved spots. Sorry spoiled pc/app gamers, you can't save every where. This game will keep you busy grinding, leveling, and having a good story line having you going back for more. The music, gaming, names classes will make ya nostalgic for FF. get it. If you settled for those cheap "free" game, 99 cent games or prefer those action rpg and you have a small attention span, then you may not like this. Get it and you get a real good ole game..Version: 1.5.0

Not quite the best purchase I've made for my iPadWhile I agree with many users here that, compared to it's Nintendo DS counterpart, is a hell of a steal at the price of around $15, is still at the high end of the pricing spectrum when comparing with other apps in the App Store. And for $15, Square forgoes adding some of the features that truly make this title cream of the crop. Namely in particular, the lack of a universal App and iCloud support for seamless cross iOS device playability. For these two absent, but very important features for me, Square misses the mark. And what's more disappointing is that Square corrects ones of the aforementioned negatives, but still misses mark yet again, not once, not twice, but three times over, with the follow ups FFIV, FFIV: AY, and FFV. Those titles finally become universal, but it's not until the recent release of FFVI that Square finally gets the picture. Truly, this is an amazing game, but at this relatively high price for an iOS app, it deserves the same treatment as FFVI did. Square, please go back and give these past Final Fantasy releases universal and iCloud support. 5 star reviews pending..Version: 1.5.0

Buy nowAbsolutely fantastic game. Controls especially good, movement is very good being controlled with a joystick which auto-places wherever your thumb is, no fiddly control like most games which employ a 'joystick' like Harry potter and infinity blade!.Version: 1.0.0

Love itFantastic! I love the FF series and this game is no exception. It is an expensive app but it's also not your typical angry birds that can be beat in one night and never picked up again. I'm 12 hours in and haven't had so much as a flicker or a freeze. Beautiful gameplay, no issues WHATSOEVER! Highly recommend for anyone who enjoyed this series on the console..Version: 1.3.0

Great version of a great gameThis is definitely the best version of Final Fantasy III. It's based on the Nintendo DS version, but the huge iPad screen greatly improves the experience!.Version: 1.1.1

Worth every pennyThis game is FAR better than Final Fantasy I and II. Be thankful you don't have to pay twice the price for the lesser DS version, and don't complain about having to pay a premium price for a premium game. It's worth it, if only to support Square Enix's efforts. My only complaint is the low FPS at some parts in the game, especially the world map. I really hope the game would be better optimized in a future update, though I imagine if they were gonna do it, they would have done that before releasing the game..Version: 1.0.0

A Series that Defines Itself Over & Over AgainLet's face it, the reason for there being over 15 Final Fantasy games and counting is because they are just brilliant. All of them! Final Fantasy III is no different and when I saw it available for the first time on iPad instead of iPhone, i leapt and bought it. Even with the slightly steep price, this really is a phenomenal game. With so much substance and room for growing your party's powers whilst moving along with the progression of the story itself, the game can provide many rewarding hours of entertainment. And let's not forget about all the added extra visuals they put into this new release. I only advise however that you rapidly save your progress because you really do not know what lies behind each new cave or dungeon. My reluctance to stick with the weak enemies to build my party's experience led me to some nightmarish places and at times, my entire party was wiped out in a single fight. However you wish to play, you cannot go wrong with the Final Fantasy series. Brilliant!.Version: 1.4.0

Final Fantasy III iOS Update Is Great!1st, this game is phenomenal, very fun to play, great place to start for ANYONE interested in diving into Final Fantasy. The storyline is great, gameplay is challenging but not too tough, music is SPOT ON & what I expect from this incredible series. I’ve been playing Final Fantasy since 1987 & currently working on FF IV The After Years & FFIV & FFVIII Remastered for Nintendo Switch & I can say that FF3 is one of THE BEST in the series! Can’t wait for Final Fantasy Orchestra Tour this year in Chicago! Download FF3! You won’t be disappointed! No controller needed, ignore the other reviews! 5 STARS!.Version: 2.0.0

Great time wasterAn excellent remake of one of the best Games I've played. Hardly any crashes and great user interface, incorporates the touch screen really well. Overall, 5 stars and can't wait for other remakes to hit the app store..Version: 1.4.0

Would highly recommendFirst of all, this is the single best game I have ever bought for my iPad or iPod. The only reason why I hesitated to go for it was the horrendously high price tag. I'm glad I went for it, but I think it should be a lot less in price. For me, this is the only down side to this great purchase. Having only played the later final fantasy games, (7 onwards) it was a great treat being taken back to the more retro style of graphics and gameplay. If you wipe out, there is no 'just try it again' like they have in other games, and characters that are knocked out, are not instantly revived for the next battle. Phoenix down and running back to town is vital! Encounters are harder, and grinding is a must. If you do not enjoy this style of gameplay, you may find is game not to your tastes. Personally, I enjoy the difficulty. My final point is don't worry when you see the credits roll after the first hour of the game. I saw this and was thinking to myself "I paid £12 for THAT!" don't worry, it does continue. Credits roll after the intro to this game. Tl;dr: if you can spare the money, this is a must have game for your iPad. If you can't, save up or take out a loan, then buy it..Version: 1.1.0

Well worth the moneyAbsolutely brilliant game that manages to stay true to the original, whilst feeling completely natural to play on the iPad (: fantastic storyline as ever, and I've ploughed in well over 10 hours of gameplay already. I'm not even halfway through yet!.Version: 1.3.0

Great AppYeah it's on the pricey side but it's worth it if you are looking for a good RPG on the iPad. If you love FF then it's a no brainer that you should get this unless you already have it on your iPhone. It's too bad this app isn't universal but the game itself is great and the interface on the iPad is excellent. The graphics are decent and as with many of the early FF games, this one plays well and has a good story. I like the vivid colorful feel of the iPad version. If you don't mind paying the higher cost, then I strongly recommend this game to you. Just get ready for dome old fashioned level grinding!.Version: 1.0.0

Loving itI have played all the final fantasy games for ps,ps2 and ps3, and final fantasy 1 & 2, so I'm kind of a final fantasy fan. I love how they have incorporated the zoom function into this game. It allows you to see secrets such as hidden items or triggers to hidden passages. I have been playing it for a few days now and I.m happy with my purchase, even though the storyline is a bit weak..Version: 1.0.0

Great Port For iPadHaving played this game on my old NES, and on the DS, this port of the game is perfect for the iPad! Retina display would be nice, but the graphics are good without it. If you are looking for a great RPG to have on the iPad, then look no further! I mean, how can you go wrong with a classic Final Fantasy installment? And for those saying that the game will not save, it's because you can only save on the world map. No saving in dungeons and caves to come back later, that's what the quicksave is for. So basically, it's all or nothing. It's a classic RPG though, it's supposed to be challenging!.Version: 1.4.0

Well worth the priceFirst things first. Don't let the price push you away. Of course I would have personally started it at around $9.99, but even at it's current price it's well worth it. Tons of content, and lots to do. Gameplay and graphics are nice (although there are better on the iPad). I hope there are more Final Fantasy's in their way to the iPad. More specifically Final Fantasy 3 (North American), or Final Fantasy 6 in Japan..Version: 1.0.0

Addictive GameI have had this game for a year and a bit now. I keep going back and forth of bouts of hours and hours of non-stop gameplay then nothing for a few months. But I always come back. With the introduction of MFI controllers to the market, I was understandably very excited. However Square’s rather odd decision to update their iPhone version of the App for MFI support and not their iPad one is slightly odd. This has caused me to rethink a previously 5 star review and only give it 4 stars..Version: 1.5.0

Awesome! The saving only when you're going between places can be annoying, but the gameplay so far has been really good and enjoyable! For a game like this, the price is worth it..Version: 1.1.0

How to fix soundGame is great. Lots of fun and much to do. In some cases, however, you will open up the app and there will be no sound. To fix this, go to your home screen, double tap the home button, and you will see the list of recently used apps. Simply hold your finger on any app until the red "-" shows up above an app. Press the dash above this app to delete it from your "open" apps. Once this is done open the game again and their will be sound again with no loss to progress. Hope this helps..Version: 1.3.0

Simply awesomeBeautiful gameplay, fascinating jobs, addicting, and totally worth it!.Version: 1.3.0

One of my favourite titles! As a true gamer I have high standards about games, and the final fantasy series has gotten me, you might say under its spell, I have spent countless hours playing this and I haven't felt the need to complete it unless there is absolutely nothing else I can do. The job shifting technique is magnificent, the only downside about most final fantasy games is that you don't get to pick what you have to do, although they fix that by replacing it with a detailed story line. The ATB gauge isn't as good as deciding and then going. Final Fantasy 3 is an absolutely fabulous game and if I could be bothered I would use all the available characters to explain how good this game is. Very impressed SQUARE ENIX! Come on FF6!.Version: 1.5.0

GoodGreat game, but still needs a little work. Some necessary items not for sale or to be found in order to complete a quest (magic key to get into golden mansion room).Version: 1.3.0
