✓ Just what I wantedI am very happy with this app. I wanted the chimes I remembered from my grandparents house in London and these are very close. ✓ Westminster ChimesLove the App! Works great! Developer responded quickly when I had a question. Used these as my alarm volume high only on the hour to wake me (next to my head) when I had to put in hourly eye drops day & night for 2&1/2 days. Serious sleep deprivation! ✓ Great appI've always liked chiming clocks, so it's great to have Westminster Chimes on my phone, it sounds exactly like a chiming clock you'd have in your house. This pro version is even better because it's more customisable, I usually have the chimes going from 9 AM to 10 PM. I love that you can choose what quarters you want to chime, that's really useful because if I'm listening to an audiobook I change it to only chime every hour, but apart from that I set it to chime all the quarters. I'm completely blind, so thanks for making it accessible with VoiceOver as well..Version: 2.6.0

✓ Awesome Grandfather Clock!I use this every day! If you remember the soothing sounds of an old Grandfather Clock- this app gives you that wonderful feeling again! Another unexpected perk is that it keeps me on track with the time without being an annoying “reminder” app- which I’ve used before and deleted. ✓ 2 problems I solved with 15I guess this app had stopped working for awhile? Today I went in to make sure it wasn't shut off. It wasn't, but I still reset my choices. I continued to hear nothing. Plus, I started getting text alerts in Notifications every time it was set to chime: hour and half-hour. It's hard to see now, because the text is like white-on-yellow, but there's a Volume setting in the app itself that I have to set at nearly 100% before I can hear chimes. Also, those text notifications can be stopped in your phone Settings > Notifications > Westminster Chimes, then turn off permission for notifications. That fixed it..Version: 2.5
✓ Lovely Pleasing App!Great app!! It is a pleasure to hear the sound of a grandfather clock chiming the stations of the hour. I find it calming, no matter how frantic my day is, nothing can rush a clock as it goes about its business! The sounds produced by the app are very authentic, it even fooled my family, who thought our large grandfather clock in the hall chimed twice! Suggestion: An option to play ticking when wanted. Only disappointment: Sometimes the volume is very low, or the app does not play even though it should, and I have not figured out why..Version: 2.4.12

✓ Great app, needs higher chime sounds, issues with iOS 17So I got this app because I like the idea of my phone chiming on the hour or quarter hour or whatever you want. I use the spoken voice more often than not. However, I would like to see some higher quality chime sounds. And some different bell strikes on the hour for each chime type if you will. And right now, it does not seem to be working with iOS 17. I have the chimes, turned on, volume on high, and I’ve got it set to strike on the hour. I’m using the spoken voice granted. But I have tried it with other chimes in the past with iOS 17, and no results. Just thought I should throw that out there. There might be a disagreement with the app and iOS 17..Version: 2.5.1

✓ Note From App Owner (NOT ME by the way)Here is an email update I received from the app owner (NOT ME by the way) to address the issue with the iOS 15 chimes not working problem. I have the same problem by the way, but here is what they said. “I just submitted a new build of Westminster Chimes to the App Store! This address the problem of the chimes not playing in iOS 15. Now we just have to wait for Apple to approve it. Part of the problem was that the previous version was not registering for anything other than Sounds. That no longer works. Apple wants the end user to have total control over their notification experience. So, by default, Westminster Chimes will show Banners, and show on the lock screen. For the best experience, I suggest that you go into Settings > Westminster Chimes > Notifications, and turn off “Show in Lock Screen” and “Banners”. Leave “Notification Center” and “Sounds” turned on. Thank you for your patience, and for your business!”.Version: 2.4.12

✓ Old-world elegance!I love the 'analog' sense of time passing in 15-minute increments: I use this app while meeting with my clients and it gives them a gentle feeling for how much time remains in our hour meetings. The Westminster chimes are much more agreeable than a beep or electronic noise. That being said, I agree on two points with an earlier reviewer: it would be nice to have the choice between the present tone and that of a more intimate mantle clock, and it would be nice to easily be able to switch off the app while listening to music. ✓ Cheery and helpful!I downloaded this amusing and well designed App as I am the only one in the household who wanted a chiming clock, so now have my own personal one. It is very handy to be able to regulate the timing of the chimes as well as choosing which melody to have and also to have the hours or quarters as it takes your fancy. ✓ Great app, but would like some higher-quality chimesI really love this app, especially when I am away from home, and do not have my chiming clocks. It's so customizable, and super easy to use with voiceover. I would like to see some additions, however. I would love an option to purchase some higher quality chimes, maybe some that are directly recorded from older clocks. You could even record some grandfather clock chimes, and put them in the app to have a very realistic sound. I would even be willing to pay additional money for these. I would also like to see the option for a striking Chime style. Some clocks do not play a chime Melody, but just do a strike on the hour and half hour. I would really like to see an option for this in the app. Overall though, it's a great app, and I really enjoy using it. ✓ I Like This AppI like this app and use it all the time. There are the choices of chimes or a person speaking the time. I use the one where the person announces the time. The only change I would like to see made is to have the actual time announced at the quarter hour, half hour, and 3/4 hour. Currently when those times are announced, they’re in the generic of “quarter past the hour,” “half hour,” and “quarter till the hour” and I do not know the actual time unless I look at the clock. ✓ Very realistic, natural soundI love this app and its flexibility with options. I wish there was a setting to allow or disallow the app to affect the sound of other active apps or songs. Before the most recent update, the chimes sounded like a clock at home and I loved that. One of the changes with the update was to make the chimes sounds more realistic. Now I don't enjoy the chimes as much; they are very realistic, I have to agree, but now they have a tone and echo that is suggestive of a cathedral. This is lovely but not the kind of sound I want. Couldn't there be a choice of chime tones? "Cathedral" or "living room"? Something like that?
