✓ Cannot pause and resumeSo promising..... But as others have said, you cannot slide the player back to the tricky bit you are trying to learn, you have to start from the beginning on the videos. ✓ Cannot stop between videoAbility to stop between videos is broken for new version of OS. Functionality works on iPad 1 but broken on iPad 2+. It did work on my IPad 2 until I upgraded to new OS. ✓ MediocreAlthough the instructions are quite simple, there is a lot lacking in quality of the app itself. First, you cannot play the keyboard and follow the tuition in app: you either watch the video and then choose to jam, or need a keyboard to go with the app. Second, it is not possible to skip forward in the tuition videos to the notes part, meaning that anyone wanting to see a part must view the entire video. ✓ Great learning toolI give it 3 stars even though it is a great app. The Piano guy is great but needed to slow down the first time through so I could catch the notes. I'm able to follow the lead sheets so that helped. However Greensleeves was missing the lead sheet. Also their should be more songs and tutorials. At least a place where you can buy them cheaply. After paying $90 for the piano I felt I got short changed on the app. Give us a way to get more songs or update the app for new levels and songs. ✓ Learn to play the piano HAHOk, it's easy to install and set up, that's where the easy stops. You open the ap, choose a song and then the teacher comes on and shows you where to place your fingers and then very quickly goes through the song. He then says "Watch this over and over until you have it down and I'll teach you the left hand." And you do have to watch it over and over again from the beginning. Yeah the keys light up and you're supposed to follow the lit keys, but it's too fast for someone like me with very little musical experience. I was expecting something that I had as a child where you follow the numbers and learn it that way. This was way too fast and not worth the money. I returned it..Gizmo nutVersion: 1.4

✓ Not for Beginners & No headphone jack!This app is good, but it is not for beginners. The rewind/forward feature needs to be fixed for the new OS. (Every time you try to move to a section of the video it moves back to the very beginning.) Slower keywork and slower progression of lessons would be helpful for true beginners--things move way too fast for true piano novices. Maybe differentiate the lessons so that they match student levels- from people who have never touched a piano on up? ✓ The keyboard isn't as cool as it seems..I was really excited when I got the keyboard for a Christmas gift. Right from the start I was disappointed. The keyboard does not come with a wall plug even though it has a slot for one. It did come with batteries which I inserted and turned the piano on. The piano does not work at all though unless you have your iPad or iPhone plugged into it and have the app open. I personally thought this was a really lame function. I was hoping to be able to use it to practice playing songs from other books and I still can my iPad just gets in the way though having to be plugged in. Also it doesn't have a headphone jack. My roommates don't want to hear me practice all night. The app it's self is okay. Another thing that bugs me is that while playing songs is that it only shows the notes for the right hand. I've looked everywhere on the app and cannot find left handed notes. What happened Ion?.MikWiiVersion: 1.4

✓ Not enough...I'm not sure if I'm missing something, but i was all ready to order the piano peripheral for this app and I thought I would check out the app first. By the looks of things all it does is teach you a bunch of songs, and there is absolutely no chord training at all. Very disappointed as i play guitar and was definitely going to buy the add on....but what good is spending £80 on a piece of kit only to learn a bunch of songs, and not even be able to tell the difference between one chords and another.Advice monkeyVersion: 1.2

✓ Really bad appI bought the ion keyboard with the anticipation that I would be able to learn to play lots of songs but there is only 16 in the app! And the piano man is American when they could provide an English accent! And there's no pause and rewind for heavens sake surely it wouldn't be that difficult to make these changes seems like another big company just want to take your money and run I won't buy anything of Ion again that's for sure but I bet they don't care and won't bother contacting me! ✓ Way too HARDSo I got this app with the mini keyboard from ion as I wanted to learn how to play basic piano. I spent about 45mins trying to nail the first song but the tutorial is done way to quick, is doesn't show you in pieces how to learn the song, he just plays the whole song at normal pace from start to finish..... I think this app needs to re-look at the way it try's to teach you how to learn how to play because it was too hard and too fast for me to pick it up.... ✓ Can't partially rewind video lessonThis is shoddy work by the developer. However, the instructional video is quality. You MUST start at the beginning of the 3 - 4 minute video. ✓ Update Required after User TestingTo me it is apparent that the user testing associated with this device was only done by persons either involved in production of the product or musicians. To qualify this; I'm an adult, I have a background in New Media and Production and have never had the opportunity to learn music and thought this would be a good method as a beginner. I can deal with the keyboard being a bit small. I can deal with sound only coming out of the idevice you plug in. I cannot silently cope with poor user testing. The interface is perfectly simple and visually appealing, easy to navigate and intuitive but the video functionality is very flawed. You cannot loop any individual section of a video or sheet music, any attempt to skip ahead/fast forward results in the video restarting. It is painful enough that I'm considering whether or not to return the product. In an effort to get around the video functionality issues I attempted to take refuge in the sheet music section only to be frustated by the same playback control issues and added logistic gaps. As before you can only play/pause with the addition of being able to change the beats per minute. As the play head walks through the music the keyboard lights up. That sounds good but the gap comes in here as you have no idea (1)what hand positions to take, (2)have no idea whether that note is an A, C, F or D as it flys past you unlabelled in the "beginner" sheet music. Perhaps an optional (toggle on/off) voice over to sing you what note letter you're playing could be helpful for you internalize some actual information. Perhaps an added learning section focused on sight recognition of notes within the staff so that when you visit the sheet music section it can eventually mean something/equate to notes to play. ION has created an awesome tool for learning in this keyboard but rendered it useless as an educating tool with this app. I will only find value in this keyboard purchase if it interfaces with other synth apps my musician significant other uses.
