✓ Too complicated too many catch 22 problemsI changed my network and tried to reregister an Epson printer et 2550 which is connected to my WiFi. Other devices can print on it via wireless, in particular a desktop running Ubuntu 18.o4. I used to be able to print from my iPad, because the first setup was straight forward. But now: The iPad app finds the Epson printer but sends me through all kinds of security checks to allow me to print on it. Why on Earth does printing on an Epson Printer require that I have an account with them? Of course, since there isn’t a choice I had an account but now I don’t know the password - of course. It brings me through a number of possible cycles: wrong password when I try to re-register the printer; the path via “I already have an account” doesn’t work - it never prompts me for a new password. Then it sends me at one point a super secure temporary monster pass word which I am bound to copy with a mistake..... and the cycle starts. Whenever I reach the final stage where it is supposed to connect the printer via the WiFi, the message appears: the server does not respond. Which goddam server anyways? This software behaves like a cruel bean counter. Oh you forgot your account info from 2 years ago? Well you’re f****ed. Extremely frustrating. Has any one of these software geniuses ever really tried their software by observing a normal person using it and observing what happens if they make a mistake? There are so many pitfalls that it becomes an endless trial and error experience..Version: 1.4.0

✓ UselessIt opens the browser and shows details of my printer, then a button that says "refresh". All that does is refresh the same info. ✓ Only good for AirPrintPointless unless you have an AirPrint comparable printer. Download the Epson iPrint, probably a link to the app over to the left of this comment. It works well with photos and saved documents. You may have to use Dropbox or google docs to save the stuff you want to print.... But it is great for a free app and will print photos no problem. ✓ App can find the printer but cannot complete set upIt appears that the app while it can find the printer, will now no longer sync with it. It was working fine and then stopped. I can’t find a way to correct this on the printer. And the app when you try to set up the printer, cannot connect to it... Strangely my desktop and laptop can both print but not my iOS devices. Following the guidelines in the help file to examine privacy and enabled Apps confirms the App is enabled. Toggling permission off and back on has no effect. The App does not find the printer. ✓ Don’t buy the Epson iPrint had nothing but troubleIf the power goes out the printer won’t connect to the iPrint. Everyone that needs to use the printer has to download the epson iPrint app. The app finds the printer and printer up address but still doesn’t print from my phone. ( prints from the computer ok) The scan to email will only work on my gmail account and won’t send to my work account email. Scan to computer is abit hit and miss too. Says it is sent but doesn’t always show up in the download folder. The epson iPrint app says to connect using the wifi set up on the printer . But the setting on the printer are different to what it says in the app. I used the setup from printer ( from my phone app details on how to set up) still didn’t work. It can find the printer in settings in the App, but not when actually try and print it can’t find the printer..Version: 1.4.9

✓ Arghh!My Epson Artisan 730 printer is clearly on my home WiFi network (printer status sheet so states, can access it in browser by typing in IP address from that status sheet, plus printer works over WiFi with GooglePrint from my Chromebook AND on a PC) but Epson's own iOS apps (this one and the Epson Print app) "searches" but can't find the printer! Arghh! Printer is fine, but this app failure plus Epson's extortionate approach to ink (printer will not print even an all-black page if any of the color inks are low! To my knowledge Epson/Seiko are only company of any sort that sets out to dictate what you as the owner of a bought product can or cannot do. Freedom of choice does not appear an option.
