✓ Full screen please…I want to love this, but month after month I’m hopeful that I can read it full screen on my iPad Pro 12inch. But it’s been a long time for that not to happen, so I cancelled my sub today. Fix it..Version: 6.0.6
✓ Deletes what you paid forI subscribed for several years, but then cancelled as not enough time to read them all. I thought I saved them, even the ones I did not have time to read. When I did have time, I quickly found out they do not allow you to read the ones you purchased, and even deleted all the magazines you have paid for. Totally unfair, you pay for something, and it should be there to read. Great magazine, but beware, you are actually paying to have access to all your past magazines as well..Version: 4.9.4
✓ App doesn’t work, Apple says not eligible for refund.I ordered multiple magazines and that seems to be the only part of the app that works. Library does not show purchases mags, store shows items already purchased, got every error message possible trying to make it work, troubleshooting steps didn’t work and to top it off, Apple support says none of the orders are eligible for a refund. ✓ Content is fine, but not good appI like Maclife and downloaded the app and a one month sub to try it out non iOS. It now sits infuriatingly in Newstand displaying the 'new download' banner/badge *all the time*, yet I've in fact read it. This is annoying enough, but I also seem to be somehow bumped off the subscription since it now constantly offers me the op to subscribe but no op to cancel. I have no idea if I'll be billed again next month. And can't find a straightforward way to query it in-app. I am totally confused by all this - very unintuitive and very unApple..Version: 1.0

However with the latest update it has just become another swipe up, across, down all over the place app losing any likeness to a printed publication. And as with another reviewer, I have to agree the blur between pages is very annoying and far too long especially compared to all the other new stand apps that I have. ✓ Good but lots of room for improvementGood first try but I wish this was as good implementation as Wired or Popular Mechanics. You can't click on individual stories in the table of contents and be taken there or click on ads or web links and be taken there. Also this is just a barebones presentation of the magazine. No video clips, interactive diagrams or anything new to the static magazine. Lastly but definitely most importantly the text requires the user to zoom in and out of the articles in order to read clearly. Larger text or a clearer presentation would be great..Version: 1.0

✓ Dodgy appI am so annoyed with this app! i got this app so that i could read the MAC|LIFE magazine. I normally don’t have time at home because I work most of the time & it would be nice to read such a magazine on my overseas trips. BUT while I never ever lose my library when I’m home, I WILL LOSE IT on a flight overseas ... every time!!!! This app is setup so if you leave your country where you subscribe ...YOUR LIBRARY IS DELETED. If it cannot connect to their server ... YOUR LIBRARY IS DELETED. You will be able to download your purchased magazines if you have a connection BUT YOUR LIBRARY IS DELETED again when you get home TOO. When I messaged the company about this problem, we blew me off with some excuse “its your ipad ... reinstall the app” ... not their problem!!!! I don’t have this problem with any other magazine app ... I don’t lose the libraries in those apps! SO WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH MACLIFE AND THEIR APP? ✓ Is not working well in the NewsStandI use enjoyed the print version content for many years. They did the Newstand version. Now reconnecting with my suscription was slow and complicated. To make things worst the format is as a regular PDF and not anymore pages that seem a magazine as in the past. The mayor issue is the magazine is not complete. ✓ Doesn’t work very well with Apple products (really?!?)MacLife is permanently locked in portrait mode when you read individual issues. This is by design and, of course, makes NO SENSE. (Every other iPad magazine subscription I have rotates to both landscape and portrait modes.). It’s as if the MacLife app creators have never actually used an iPad. Lately, the app has been failing to open for days at a time. And when it finally does, it has a large black border around it and a much smaller image - sort of like a letterboxed image. This is not a problem with my iPad as the MacLife app is the only one that exhibits this issue. Content-wise, maybe 1 out of every 10 articles had something useful. Everything else was pretty basic. So after subscribing for 6 months, I have canceled my subscription. If I could give ZERO stars, I would. In my opinion, this app is not worth the money..Version: 6.0.6

Luckily after trying 10 odd times on the iPad It worked, but my iPhone is where I was reading them most. When I tried to send an email to help got an automated response. Support on the matter seemed pretty lacking, (what looked like a useful contact email address just gave me an autoresponse pointing to an unhelpful faq page) but I wont kick up a fuss because frankley I dont want to read it anyway. Magazine content was dated, brief, and some of it was written with a horribly annoying egotistical/arrogant tone. Some of it read more like the childish rants of teenage fanboys on a web forum than the work of career journalists. Based on the issue i read, I would avoid even if it were free. It has been a bit hit and miss on my 2 other devices when recovering purchases, but does not work at all on the iPad mini.
