✓ Great app for envelope budgetsReally enjoy this app. It's easy to use. The app easily shows how much you have available in each budget, how much you go over, income still awaiting and how much you have as outcome compared to income. The only problem I have found with it is they you cannot choose the date to start the month. So if you get paid at the end of the month, you will not be able to see it if you look at the monthly view (ex checking up in feb how you are doing, when you got paid in the end of January) Being able to start a month on a certain date would be a great feature to add to the app..Version: 3.0.1

✓ Finally!I was very happy to find this app. I have been using "Spend" for the last 8 years but it's no longer being supported and has started to lose functionality. I've periodically searched for a replacement app but everything offered was way too invasive or overkill. Link my bank accounts? No. investment portfolio? No. Sign up for our service? No. This is the perfect "money in jars" method of keeping track of bills. Everything can be manual so I can control what goes where, when, transfer between "jars"... it's exactly what I've been looking for. I bought both the iPhone and iPad versions and the iCloud syncing makes it super easy to keep both devices up to date. Maybe in the future if the app could sync automatically - that would be great. ✓ Love it!I have used several different budget apps in the past and was very quickly dissatisfied but I love this one. My main issue with those other apps is I live on a monthly budget that doesn't start on the first of the month and I couldn't choose the start date. It would automatically begin everything on the first. With this app I can start my budgets on the day of the month I actually get paid. It makes a huge difference! ✓ Excellent for "envelopes"I was looking for an app to use as a "virtual envelopes" system (ie so I could keep all cash together in one physical wallet, but know exactly how much I had spent/left for eachg budget item - eg I budget $x a week for dining out, $y a month for movies, etc). This app was by far the best one I found for this purpose. The visuals are simple and clear, yet the system itself is sohisticated. For example: (1) One can select whether a particular budget is a one-off or a r ecurring item (eg I can set my budget for "Movies" to recur monthly). An excellent feature is that - unlike in several other tracker apps I tried - one can specify a custom start date for the cycle (eg I can set my monthly "Movies " budget to start on the 7th rather than the 1st of each month). (2) One can set whether, at the end of a recurring budget's cycle, the balance must be carried for ward to the next cycle or not. (3) One can transfer credit from one budget to another. My one gripe is that the "Help" section (though much more informative than in the "Free" version!) could still be better. For example, there is no information on how to change the order in which budgets are listed (the default is order of creation, but I wanted mine ordered by category). However, the customer support staff were very responsive to an email help request (the answer to ordering budgets being that you press on the button showing 3 parallel bars next to the name of the budget to be resequenced, and you then drag it to its new place in the list). In all, I am delighted with this app. Fully recommend it..Version: 1.2

I tried a few different budget apps and this one works best for what I need it for, I'd like to be able to export data to a spread sheet for my records or view some sort of pie graph so I can see where I'm spending my money, but it still does what I want compared to the rest I've tried. ✓ Great app for envelope budgetI, like many others, have been downloading all kinds of budget apps. Most were just okay. This app is really easy to get set up and use. It's all manual which is fine because I didn't want to tie in my bank info to the other apps. The budget report is pretty useful to give a final monthly overview. You can set up a budget with subcategories, the envelope system. This is what a lot of other apps were missing. I prefer this app over all the other budget apps out there. It's simple and incorporates subcategories in the budget. I do wish there was more charts, like a bar chart. The pie chart is only so so when you have multiple categories. I have about 12. I get paid the last week of the month, which is week five in some months. I like to have copies of my receipts, but without the paper! Comes in handy in case I need to do a quick return or exchange, or if I simply want to track expenses. The best part is that I don't need to clog my photo album with random pictures of receipts. Please note, I am using the pro version. The basic version was fine but I had WAY too many transactions to be limited to the few allowed in the basic version. It was not only practical for what I needed, but wise. I didn’t want an app that connected to my bank or credit card, just a way to track my spending by category. There are some features I’d like to see work differently (for example, it would be great for the reports to include how much you spent by category by month in dollar totals, not just percents, as well as how much you were over or under budget in a category for a selected time range). It also gives you the ability to see how much you have left in any certain category. It’s also really useful at the end of the year for working out expenses totals. Love the simplicity, I just wanted a reliable way to track spending. Never had a problem with it, and you can back up to iCloud or Dropbox. Love the new update (October 2022)! I especially like the simplified backup options at the top of Settings. It might be a good idea to put these at the top of the main page to remind you to back up. Update: I've been using Best Budget for about 10 years at least, and it's a fantastic tool for staying on top of your monthly budget. Simple to use and very reliable. ✓ I had to warm up to itI bought this app when my favorite app stopped working on my old phone. At first, it wasn't quite what I was looking for. You know how it is, when you have a favorite of something and you have to replace it, the second one doesn't quite measure up. If you want to change your weekly budget ya retroactive... so suddenly you'll have way more money available when you go from $100 a week to $200 a week since it adds that extra $100 for every week you have been using it. You just have to add the difference as an expense. Other than that I wish when I was over it was way more red looking. Sometimes I have to look twice to see if it's $50 over or I still have $50 available..Version: 3.4.1
