Worth the priceI used the free version up until week seven with no problems. The ads were annoying but certainly no deterrent when it came to making running habitual and accomplishing my running goals. However, if you want to aim for a good time in your run the pro version is the way to go. No HealthKitI have been using this app for a couple years, it’s still pretty buggy but is also the best option on the market for couch-to-5k apps (which makes me a little sad...) I first downloaded C25k around 2014. Somehow they have been able to create a monetized music streaming services, but it is still so difficult to integrate HeathKit, which was designed to be relatively simple to add into current apps. I purchased the Pro version, only to have access to the Apple Watch app, which lags behind its iPhone companion by 10-15 seconds. So... really, it’s the best option (with worse competition) but it’s also seriously lacking features that make it a better user experience. (Yet somehow the develop team is able to create and push a weird music screaming app, Among other things.).Version: 4.5

Great iPhone app but the Watch app could use some workI love this app and the other fitness apps by Zen Labs. App is smooth on the iPhone, but a little laggy on the Apple Watch, and despite the GPS feature in the Series 2, you can't use the app with just the Watch. Great program, app needs a little tweakI have been working on this program off and on for too long. I really like it and I feel good doing it. But I wish the app would give me the options to a) keep the screen on during lock mode so I can always see how much time until my next change and b) the ability to silence all other notifications while in lock mode. Works well with Apple WatchWanted an app to do C25K without a subscription, and that worked standalone on Apple Watch. This app ticks the boxes. It’s easy to use and when used on the watch gives audio alerts when to walk or jog, but then allows you to use the Apple Watch Workout app to record the run and readout HR etc. while you are running. You then just sync the watch app with the iPhone app when you get home. If you use it that way remember not to enable the app to write to Apple Health or you will end up with duplicate data. Seems reliable and the iPhone app is good too.Version: 4.8.15

Brilliant app.Having tried it from never running. Last time at school some 25 years ago I did find the expectation of "run for 60 seconds" very disheartening. So pausing the app hit the gym to build up from 30 second jogs mixed with 30 second walking briskly for a couple of times a week for 2 weeks. I'm now at the point of actually doing the app and feeling accomplished when I finish a workout. It'd be good if there was a setting to adjust the initial running from say 30 seconds up for the real unfit like myself. Not a major criticism just my initial impressions of using it. I love it now and bought the pro version and pay the premium. Give it a go doing something is better than nothing. Just don't expect to run from the start. Take it easy and repeat weeks if you have to. I had lost weight going to the gym and dieting but hit a brick wall nothing I did could budge any more. Jogging with this has kick started it again and I'm absolutely over the moon I'm going to be able to do a parkrun with my fiancée soon..Version: 3.3

Don't be scared of the first run, 60 seconds.. Flys by, before you know it, time to walk. Not like those long microwave minutes. The issues I don't like is I bought the "pro" ap thinking I'd get extra features for my $$, but I don't. Just One Wish....I wish the app would let me know the distance I’ve run, like every quarter-mile or so. It’s a bit disappointing to hit a workout distance of 1.99 miles. Apple WatchUpgraded to the pro version so I can use it with my Apple Watch Ser 4. I love the original app so I thought it’d be really useful to be able to leave my phone at home and continue the program within my watch. Unfortunately it didn’t work as well as I anticipated. There are no verbal cues on when to start running / walking. I think it might have vibrated once but I never felt it again. Maybe because I was listening to a podcast? Please address this. It's a startEasy to use. But for what it does it is overpriced. i have other aps that do more for the money. It uses GPS but does not give you a copy of the route you took. I have Cycling apps that email the route at the end. For some bizarre reason it gives the distance covered in miles not kilometres. However the major flaw with these programs is they make you run to a time not a distance. So you run/jog/walk for 30 minutes but it does not tell you if that was a good distance for the time. Whats the point of running for 30 minutes + if you only cover half the 5k. it would really be a help if you could set the time you wanted to cover the 5k in and then it did a few simple calculations to tell you how far off the mark (or ahead) you are..Version: 4.0

IssuesI gave the app 5 stars because I has helped me to improve on running. I was not one before. However, there are several issues that need to be fixed. No matter what I do I can not here the notifications for when to walk or run. I have followed all instructions on how to hear the notifications and none of it has worked. So I now run with my phone in hand. It also does not sync to my watch at all. I paid 4.99 to upgrade and the only thing upgraded was the skins that you can use. I contacted the developer and never received a response. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement..Version: 4.2

Good, but could do more with apple watch.The app itself seems to work well so far. I do have a gripe with the apple watch compatibility though. Having paired bluetooth headphones with my watch, added music and ensured the C25K app was on it, i was disappointed to find the app doesn't run stand alone on the watch. Consistent and effectiveI originally used the free version of this app - and rated it highly enough to buy this, as a part of the whole package of 10k, half and full marathon. It worked for me as a fat 50 year old that needed to do something - I started in mid January and had completed my first park run of 5k at the end of March. I was ahead of target but went along to just see how I did. I switched to the 10k app shortly after as I decided that I was going to work up to a 10k in August. I have not used the watch app, yet, but do like this on my iPhone - the key thing I have found is to ensure notifications are on - then I get the prompts I need, when I need them - and yes it does stack with run keeper ! So - having done 5k - why am I back using it - simple; I had an enforced lay off from jogging for six weeks and have used this to get back into jogging again with out running risk of injury etc.Version: 3.7

Great for Beginners and Those Returning to RacingI got this app a year ago to get back into running after more than a year off. I woke up and realized that I'd gone from being a marathoner to a couch potato. It was time for a change and this app got me back into a running routine and helped me improve my pace from a 14:30 minute mile to 11:00. I wish this app had been around in 2008 when I started running - I might have gotten around to that marathon sooner! If you're a novice or experienced runner who's currently happy with your 5k pace and performance, this app isn't for you. Helping me to be consistent.Love the slow metered build up. Week 4 was a little harder, but helped me push through my past performance. Would be nice if there was some flexibility to add days to the week. I run more than 3 times a week and don't want to progress to the next week before it actually starts. I’ve been using this app for yearsSo in the interest of rewarding great intellectual property and paying my fair share I bought the pro app for $5. I have had my money’s worth many times over. Buy it if you’re on the fence it’s perfect. Tells you when to walk, when to run and when you are done. It makes being able to run a couple miles effortless. However, developers it makes me CRAZY that I have a constant notification trying to get me to buy other workout apps. When I go to App Store to clear it it says the app isn’t available and I still have the notification. All the time. C25K?I would gladly give this a top five star rave review however it only clicks miles so needless to say I'm a tad disappointed that I cannot change this C25M to C25K. I live in Canada so the settings are already in place. I would highly recommend placing a kilometres/miles toggle in your settings menu it's a small thing but man it's bloody annoying that something so obvious was missed. Other than that this program is great and despite the fact that I don't know or care what a mile is.....I still bought the pro upgrade..Version: 4.0

It Got Me Running!I love this app. It moved forward at the perfect pace. The only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it never cheers for you. I liked the motivational quote at the beginning of each run but would have loved a pat on the back when it was over. For sure the final run! But that's just me. Also I paid for the upgrade which I think is quite over rated. I've finished the 1st 8 weeks and i'm gonna start over and hopefully speed up a little..Version: 4.8.5

Fantastic app, never get shin splints! Just needs better Watch integration.This app is the only way I can avoid going too hard too fast and getting shin splints after a long stint of not running. That said, I would like the Apple Watch app to be better integrated. It might be an education issue or a software issue, but either way, the watch app seems kind of useless. The notifications to begin running/walking come through on the watch but don’t link through to the watch app. There seems no way to start a run via the watch app either. With the new watch recently released, I’d really like to see this integration happen, and (seeing as I’ve already bought the Pro app and there’s not a lot of other ways I could put my money where my mouth is) I would be willing to buy an in-app purchase to enable it..Version: 4.1

App is American-centric, support is dullFor an app with a metric name, the distances within are imperial (and hella outdated for modern earth standards). Emailing support with issues (such as no 'treadmill' option resulting in woefully inaccurate calorie burn estimations in linked apps) will give you a pointless response paraphrased from the FAQ. So don't expect feedback to be valued. Otherwise the app functions well for what it is. Stick with the free version. You're not missing anything by paying..Version: 4.1

Love it!I absolutely frickin hate running, mostly because I can’t run far. I have started running so many times and given up because I can’t complete a mile right off the bat. This is such a helpful app! The chick is super upbeat, I love that I can listen to my tunes while I sweat, and it goes by so quickly! I recommend C25K to anyone who wants to get into running. Actually works!I never thought I would ever be able to run more than 10 min in my life but thanks to this app I just ran 2.75 (miles), well on my way to 5k (3.1)! The only things I would like to see are kms instead of miles (it is called c25k after, not c23.1m). I would also like to be able to check off all completed runs if I reinstall the app. It allows reset, but not mark all as done..Version: 3.3
