✓ Awesome game!This game has all the right elements to make it a good one. It's an addictive, user friendly and a well structured game. However, it does have some faults as other people have said already. The ads at the top of the screen are ridiculous because they distort the game and keep resizing themselves. That is probably the only flaw I can think of. If there was something I would add, I would say that you need an explanation of the mission/milestone that the player needs to complete, rather than just having a picture, because I have no idea what I have left to complete. Other than that, this is an amazingly addictive game and I highly recommend it to anyone who loves a good Sim! 4.5 stars..Version: 1.0.1

✓ I have a questionThis game is really fun, I love it? But I had a question for all the people who actually read reviews. Have y'all played virtual villager 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5? I'm not gonna lie, those ones have more of a challenge and to me, are better. Yes they cast money, but they are around a dollar or two at most. I encourage you to try the other ones. ✓ It’s okayIt’s a very fun game! The only thing I have an idea on is the reproducing, maybe we could see them do “it” and maybe the status bars (the little sign under the sick or healthy sign) could read pregnant and minutes until baby born! That would be cool! The other bugs I’m noticing is the names, foods, and population, I harvest 200 and something food and when I take a break to play Sims, I come back to like 40 food! The name bug is the way you can’t pronounce them and repeating, I have two Lily’s and two Akan's in my tribe! And the weirdest bug is I have 6 people and then an hour break later I have 9! And NONE of the women are holding babies or even breeders! That’s just some things to consider.Version: 1.0.3

✓ True Classic!I played Virtual Villagers on the computer for years. In fact, I still do. I was glad to see LDW bring it to the App Store. It plays the same as the PC version with a few extra bells and whistles. I'll end up getting the rest of the VV games as well. They're worth getting. It takes away the fun of the game because I could leave it for a week or whatever and it would still be fine. The people would still breed and get food without me. You need to add something else to make the game more interesting after you solve all the puzzles like maybe you can upgrade your island so it becomes like a first world country. ✓ BrilliantI've played all the virtual villagers to completion on computer a long time ago. Recently I found that this one was available for free on mobile and it's a wonderful game. It's definitely fun if you enjoy virtual games and you get attached to your villagers. It's fun to try and get them up and want them to succeed. This is a game that's more than fun to sit and relax with and I've put hours into it enjoying it as much as I used to. A definite recommendation for those who enjoy virtual games. I'm still searching for a game that lets you gather stuff, build where you like and explore to your heart's content while in play. ✓ Good game.I've enjoyed all the VV games on my laptop so was pleased to find them also available for iPad. I like that in the iPad version it's possible to upgrade the peeps if you want to, and also to get extra tech points, food, etc but I think it's a bit cheeky that these have to be purchased. I always thought that with these games it would be good if the player could access randomly generated events to keep the interest up when deep into the game and all puzzles solved, and more puzzles would be good,plus a 'hints' option to help with the more difficult ones. ✓ Great game!You should get this game! Though it is fun and worth it, the villagers die very often and if you get this and struggle, I have some advice for keeping them alive. 1. Earn tech points by discovering puzzles on the island. These can be cleaning up the smashed boat debris and studying the plants around the island. They can also be building your hut and removing wood from your well. Once you get 6000, buy farming and grow crops. But don't worry, your villagers will take care of them. 2.Once you grow crops, you will notice your villagers going to harvest them. This will earn more food for your villagers. Also, if your villagers get sick, grab a villager that isn't sick and drag him/her over them. Your villager will heal them, but sometimes it might take a while. Your berry bush will grow back and I believe you can teach your villagers to fish! Well, I wish you luck to this game!😀.Version: 1.0.2

✓ Amazing gameI really don’t know why people are complaining. this is an awesome game, has a lot of character, and although graphics aren’t able to be compared to today’s games, i’m sure it was great when it was made. i always have something to do, whether it be reprimanding my people to keep doing their work or having the children pick up stray mushrooms. yes, in the beginning, food runs out quickly. that’s SUPPOSED to happen. you stop struggling once you get to max farming, you usually never have that issue again so long as you have a minimum of three people fishing. it’s a great game, plenty of things to do, and gives you a lot of free will. i wish the population limit was higher, for more of a struggle, but i’m happy with the game and think the developers deserve the praise 🙂..Version: 1.0.3

✓ If you need help...I like this game, played it when I was like 5 with my sister and finally found it again. So, I’ve seen that many people have food issues. Most of the issues that lead their village to die. If you need help I recommend starting a world on normal speed, and start of my having 1-2 villagers collect berries, and 2-3 villagers research.(6th is a child) This is done so you can upgrade your farming quickly after the berries out. ✓ Played on desktop to startThen i needed to get more memory - so went to laptop. Not sure if I played on laptop but I remember having to go back & forth to get hints when I got about 3/4 through the game. Now I’m stuck on playing on a very small screened cell ( much rather have a bigger screen (!!) . 1st time tried to load game - loaded fine but it wouldn’t let me play- so I deleted the app. Just put it back in today ( along with the 2nd, 3rd and I will add the 4th at a later date. Have to say- much more fun with a m u c h larger screen!! Still I like the series. Only 1 issue I see so far- I think it’s the 2nd or 3rd game in the series- doesn’t give a way to exit out the game or put it on pause( so game won’t run you out good while you are not playing..Version: 1.0.3
✓ Playing It WrongI read a lot of these reviews and they claim “bugs” that occur but really it’s just the players not knowing what to do. Your villagers are starving because you’re not getting enough food and the game is not forgiving enough for you to make mistakes. There is no time bug where going from 2500 food to 600 food because this is an RTS that continues playing and will punish you if you don’t have it set to 0,1/2,1,2 speed (I however don’t recommend setting it to 0 at any time). This game functions perfectly fine for where it originated back in the late 2000s I believe (correct me if I’m wrong). There are your none game breaking bugs such as the dropping of food while being picked up to do something else or the fast breeding by repeatedly dropping your people on each other to skip the “going inside” feature; however, these aren’t game breaking. This is my first full review I’ve ever written on the AppStore and I have to praise this game because it is a time waster like all games, but it encompasses an RTS and the difficulty that came with older generation games. Virtual villager has its faults as it becomes a relic of the past but people have to appreciate the game for what it is and not complain difficult features as “bugs.” P.S I finished the game after 400 hours or so. (I set my times differently so I’m not sure how long it actually took).Version: 1.0.3

And then you feel so sad when they die but it’s fine because you always can make more villagers. Although if you do download VV, at night please put the game on half speed instead of 2x. ✓ Love it!I love this game. It’s simple, but it takes time. Something I am working on is getting all of my villagers to max in all skills so when one doesn’t have anything to do I can just send them to do something else without having to put them on the task a few times before they start. It also gives me something to do while waiting for my tech points to pile up. As for the food I like to keep 2-3 of my villagers constantly on farming so I have a constant supply of food. ✓ Best Virtual Life GameI played the PC version of this a long time ago and was addicted to it. The app game is very similar and was somewhat difficult at the start. I managed to unlock everything and max out my population. I recommend this for probably ages 8-12+ depending on what level it is set at. Once you've unlocked everything though it gets boring because you have no more tasks to complete and you just collect food and tech points. You have to set nearly all your villagers to research in order to gain your tech points faster otherwise the will run out of food. You also can’t breed as much with this version as they are always to hungry to do it even when you tell them to eat it doesn’t seem enough to satisfy them. Also there is Merced enough mushroom for the kids to pick to help with food quantity. If you can tinker with this it will become a bit more enjoyable and I will give it 5 stars. I have 2 problems One is the people are too stupid sometimes and when u try and make them learn something new u have to tell them like 20 times over till they get it right and if it's something like building and they run across the map to get a rock it takes a long time. But all my villagers will die bc there is no food no matter how much i leave them with. This game is completely free and the only virtual villagers game where you can have as many villagers as you'd like for free. Great game. TIP: Buy upgraded food farm from nature, or else all your villagers will die bc the berry bush does not provide enough and takes forever to grow again. TIP: To turn the large hut into a school, have a master scientist and drag them over it. The children will then be born with knowledge. Okay so someone wrote to turn the clock ahead an hour and go back to the game: My field was ready and a nursing mother had finished, but my food went down 500.
