✓ Don’t waste your money like I did.Seriously the amount of times this thing just doesn’t track your movements it’s ridiculous. I have everything set up in setting to run in the background so I don’t have to open the appAnd unless you plan on recalibrating it every single time you move it won’t map your movements. $30 for an app on a phone and it better work perfect and this thing isn’t even close. Huge SCAM. I travel a lot for work and thought this was going to be awesome. You’re better off just getting one of the free app or pay for pin traveler. This thing is worth $1 maybe $2 at the most. Even when you leave the app running in the background you will still have to physically go into the app every time you stop moving and start again..Version: 3.6
✓ Good app additionThere's lots going for this but there's also a few thing I don't like. I would like to have the option of removing the fog to get a clear view of the map. I'd also like to see a list if all the trips I've made, and start to finish positions with the ability to add tags. I'd also like to see the distance of each journey with editing options. Not only this the idiot who wrote this app is clueless about geography; the UK is a collection if countries not one. So why does it claim I have only visited one when I have been to England and Wales (that's 2 different countries)..Version: 1.4

✓ HELP!!!! It’s bafflingGPX file? KML file? Sync? VPN. Dropbox. Google Drive. I just want to record where I’ve been, prior to getting the app. Even my son can’t work out how to do it. This was one of the main attractions of the app I felt, to keep track of all the places I’ve visited, but I cannot do it. Is there a way? The app is severely limited otherwise..Version: 2.1.19
✓ AmazingEdit: iOS13 stops recording every time I close the app. Has really made the app useless for my use. “Always Allow” location data does nothing. Original: (iOS12 and under) Love the always recording mode, but I’d like a little more “persistent recording” as a few times I’ve opened the app after leaving somewhere new and discovered I haven’t been recording the trip there. Causes me to create a reminder in my phone to launch FoW every time I get in my car just in case. This may just be an iPhone limitation. Really enjoy seeing all the tracks I’ve driven after a weekend 4wding, and I enjoy “clearing the map” as I discover new paths I’ve never travelled. Nearing level 110, which I think is a really nifty way of comparing exploration between friends..Version: 2.2.19
✓ App stopped workingI paid $5 for this app less than a week ago and it has already stopped working. I have checked all of my settings, both in-app and my general phone settings to make sure location services are on and to allow the app to always access my location. I have also not been able to get it to sync with my past history. There is absolutely nowhere you can go to contact the company to try and troubleshoot problems. No sort of contact through the app or their website. Very frustrating. Love the concept but poor execution..Version: 2.0
✓ Can't open the app anymore after iOS 13It happened after I had updated to iOS 13. First the app just quit sometimes (quite more often than before) and after several days every time I opened the app I saw the starting image for 1 sec and then my phone went back to home screen. Please fix this problem! I'm in my level 300+ and don't want to lose all my records. Already tried restarting my phone, didn't work. Also tried reinstalling the app, but when I synced my data from iCloud it crashed again..Version: 2.2.20

✓ Just wish it would open at startupOr at least give users the option to set it up that way. I know that Apple is tracking my every movement at all times anyway, so I might as well be able to decide to get the achievements for driving near landmarks even if I’ve forgotten to load the app, or I’m too busy, or whatever. Other than that, though, this app keeps it simple and nails almost everything else it sets out to accomplish. And at least when it does crash, it sends a push notification to the user to let us know, which is apparently too much to expect from its competitors..Version: 2.5.3
✓ Sad.I travel to at least four destinations world wide, and domestically, miles. This app simply is meant for people who are on vacation. It cannot keep up with the pace. I have been to Asia, the USA, in a couple of states, and three countries in Europe, all that in twenty days. However, this app has only recorded one city in Asia, one in Europe and does not even show the USA and I live there. This app needs a lot of improvement. I was glad to eventually keep track of my travel, I guess not, log books are still better than electronics. Sad but true..Version: 2.1.3

✓ Area Explored got ResetI have used this app several years now and have really enjoyed it, but the recent update reset my distance and level back to 0. I can still see where I’ve been, but it doesn’t register in my total area exploded. It’s only counting where I’ve been since the update. I was level 250 a week ago and now only single digits. Tried importing old data, but with no luck..Version: 2.2.20
✓ More featuresWish there was a way to manually clear the fog to trace the roads that weren't uncovered because of low GPS signal, as well as to clear the fog on countries you've been to before just to record it. :(.Version: 1.4

✓ Constantly crashesThis app is good in principle. I was quite intrigued when I first installed it and started using it. However it constantly crashes and sends me notifications that it has done so and I need to relaunch it. Therefore until this is fixed it is quite useless..Version: 2.0

✓ FrustratingI’ve had this for over a year and it consistently freezes up and quits, most frustrating. Just returned from a trip up the east coast and guess what? Diddly squat despite heeding the messages that it has stopped and my relaunching it. I have dots and lines cleared. I was hoping to clear a lot of the US on a near future drive across the country but looks like I’ll be looking for something else. My daughter’s roommate has had the same problem while my daughter has not. Is it my phone?!.Version: 2.1.19
✓ Gets stuck, crashes and drains batteryGets stuck in background. v2.5.2 did not fix the issue. It still gets stuck when going to the foreground or opening. It ends up crashing. Battery draining. I used to have the app with location always enabled. No issues. After the last several updates, the app drains my battery. Checking the hourly battery consumption at night, it is the only app that consumes enough not to be negligible: around 7% per hour, in flight mode and no apps in background. That is with a new iPhone 12 Pro, last version of iOS and battery health at 100%. Changed to location only when in use. That helps but, of course, only records whn on the foreground. It was 5 star app for me before all this.Version: 2.5.2
✓ Terrible. Impractical.In order for this to work you need to have your location on all the time. Also, if you visited places before you cannot 'remove the fog' because your location does not say you are currently there. Terrible to track where you have already seen the world..Version: 1.7.6

✓ Great idea, bad execution!A novel app, but the trophies are horribly thought out, the levels are too high (500?) and the regional trophies are a jip for Australians who have to fly overseas to NZ rather than explore X kms like other countries or walk across a border into three new countries as in the case of Europe. I just don't think the creators of this were really paying attention when drafting the trophies. The fact there are several game breaking bugs (besides randomly leading you astray, exhausting your battery in an hour or two, and being poorly designed) makes me think the developer wasn't paying much attention to customer feedback. .__..Version: 1.7.6
✓ New version a huge step backwardsAfter installing the update and converting my old data I've found that the app no longer behaves itself with respect to location services. It used to not leave the GPS on when in the background & not recording -- now the GPS is always on when the app is running regardless of recording state so I've had to resort to hard killing it to preserve battery on my phone. Sometimes even this doesn't work correctly & I have to re-launch & kill it again to get the GPS to turn off. I've also found that the new version takes a lot longer to start than it used to (from 1 sec up to 7 sec) making it hard to quickly turn on/off. Please update to fix!.Version: 2.0

✓ What happened?I’ve had Fog of World for years and absolutely loved it. Wish I had had it for earlier travels. There where some big changes with the last update and I didn’t have a chance to have a good look at it, because two days later my Fog of World screen just went grey. No menus, no maps, no anything. ✓ Nice idea, needs retrospective entry featureI'm traveling around Western Australia, (an area as big as Europe, or about a third of the USA mainland). However for most of it you get no Internet access...there is no phone coverage anywhere here. I'm disappointed that I can't fill in the substantial gaps this app doesn't fill. If I could just draw on the map all the roads I've been on, it would be about 10 times more accurate than what it is recording of my trip. Also, the fact that I've only just gotten this app but can't add all the places I've already been around the world, and which I'm not likely to revisit, is disappointing. I understand this app is set up to log locations to win challenges - I don't care about the challenges, I'm going to look for an app that does what yours does but allows me to add locations retrospectively..Version: 1.4
✓ Great in the past, crashes now & lost my data!I was turned on to this app in 2018 by a friend, & it was really cool to see my progression through all the roads & neighborhoods I had been to. The app was great up until a recent major overhaul of the interface. It is now confusing to use, & even after the most recent update I kept having to rebuild the database as it crashed, which lost a large chunk of my last adventure each time. Now it lost everything today, & 5 years of data is gone just like that. Not happy at all with how downhill it’s gone..Version: 3.5.6

✓ Great idea, poor executionI downloaded this app because it sounded like an interesting concept, and it is. However, paying $25 for an app with zero documentation, no way to export your own data, and basically one singular feature and nothing else…it’s basically highway robbery. ✓ Always crashes. No app supportThe app is unreliable. I get notifications daily about it unexpectedly closing. It never records anything because of it always crashing. So I have to actively open before I go anyway. Not worth it. And there’s no contact for app support as far as I could see. I wish I could request a refund. ✓ New interface is very untidyBeen using FotW for about 10-ish years. It remains as functional as ever but the new UI, specifically the badges, is poorly designed. The previous UI very clearly showed your progress toward unlocking a badge without tapping on each individual one. Now, as far as I can tell, there is no indicator of progress for the badges. Additionally, both earned and unearned badges are displayed together making it impossible to tell which ones you actually have. As far as I’m concerned, removing the badges altogether would have been less frustrating than the awful replacement they now have. Returning the badges to a better state would get a better review from me..Version: 3.5.7

✓ Previous travelsThis app is a really great concept, but I wish there was a way to add previous travels. I've travel quite a bit, and to a lot of places I probably won't go again, and I'd love to add them. Even if travels people added themselves go only towards their own stats and not the Game Centre ones? That's my only disappointment, but it's a big one.
