Download issue. There is download error and pls repair it..Version: 1.0

All Access doesn’t workI bought the all access subscription for CI, ATK and CC. I downloaded the apps and was able to log into ATK. No luck with CI and CC. Called support and they said their apps do not work with Safari. I canceled my subscription as all I have is IOS and MacOS devices. If it doesn’t work with the native browser then why bother creating the app? My advice, don’t waste your time if the technology decisions do not allow it work properly..Version: 2.0

Unable to sign in from online membershipI pay for an online membership and have a subscription of the physical magazine gifted from a family member every year. When using the the older app, I was able to sign on using my online membership. It is outrageous that I would be expected to pay another $20 to access, on this app, the content I already pay for online. I would much rather deal with an app than their clunky webpage and constant barrage of “upgrade membership” pop-ups..Version: 1.5

Big disappointmentOld app much better. Have subscribed to magazine for many years. Old app allowed to a old recipe to be easily found Without looking through multiple back issues till found..Version: 1.5

Please restore interactive featuresFolks, it’s been what, 2 years, that we iPad readers have been without the interactive features we purchased the iPad edition for. We’ve been patient and “understanding’ (as your notice says), but I think the clock has run out on that. Your team can’t still be working from home, and even if they are, that is no longer an acceptable excuse. Furthermore, there have been a number of review comments on here similar to this one and no one from CI has bothered to respond to any of them. Again, unacceptable. You really need to step up your customer support game in the digital space or don’t be in it at all. No one who can be reached via the CI customer support number or email ever seems to have any idea at all about the iPad edition and that is completely maddening. Please stop ignoring us. We’ve been patient long enough..Version: 2.0

BuggyEvery time I close and re-open the app, I need to "Restore All Purchases" before I can download anything. IF I could download anything. Every time I try, I get the "Cannot connect to server. Please try again later" message. So, we have an app that forgets I have purchased anything and needs me to remind it, and after I do that, I cannot download a single issue. I have tried all the usual fixes, uninstall, delete, reinstall, etc. This app is buggy, and should NOT have been released. Oh yes, this review is foe the latest version..Version: 1.2

Ruined a great appSince they changed to a new format and do not permit the saving of recipes, the app is virtually useless. The app also has a very bad search function and service is non responsive. When they bother to respond, they don’t answer the question that was asked. It is so sad what they have done to an app that used to be great..Version: 2.0

Not compatible with iOS8Please fix it. I'm paying for this magazine but can't use it at all with this version of iOS. You've had plenty of notice and time to test the app. If you can't deliver using this model stick to print..Version: 1.3

Can't downloadThe first half of the magazine looks great... Really makes me wish I could read the SECOND HALF! But as others have stated. It fails to download after 150 mb. Please fix....Version: 1.0

Great magazine; mediocre appI love everything CI does. It’s great but this app is not worthy. It does not indicate which issues are downloaded. It does not indicate which issues you have read. It does not keep track of where you were in an issue if you close the app for a few hours. I love the content but this app is 2010 level quality..Version: 2.0

BewareI have a subscription to CI since 2013 and before that had paper issues. CI’s recent version update to 2.0 is not compatible with IOS 9. And since then, it is impossible to download the recent issue of September/October (or any further issues) on my mini iPad. I am extremely dissatisfied with this. I feel I was totally ripped off, and feel like the software developper didn’t take into consideration older IOS’s. VERY upset that I won’t be using CI in my kitchen anymore..Version: 1.4

Scrolling not workingWhen opening the recipe page and at the top is an introduction and tips for the recipes, the scrolling to read the complete words does not work. This should be fixed..Version: 2.0

Where are my saved recipes!?Used this app for years, and had many recipes saved only to lose them with this update without warning. What a waste!.Version: 2.0

Inept App.The App. strives to have me purchase more, instead of providing Me with a level of service that I have already paid for. The App. Will fail to let me read recipes, play videos or just go back to the previous page without locking up. I’ve paid for “all access” privileges and end up being frustrated by your ads or having to log-in two or three times per session. You need a recipe for customer service!.Version: 2.0

Great content, limited presentationI have been a subscriber for a number of years now and really enjoy the content. However there are limitations. You can not copy text from the app nor can you print or share part of the app, say a recipe or review. Support is non existent - the support links all go to America's Test Kitchen yet their support contacts no nothing about the app! It is also in need of a 64 bit update - keep getting a warning it will soon not work!.Version: 1.4

Old app was betterIt’s great that CI updated their app for the iPad and newer versions IOS, however I was disappointed to see that it’s just an online version of the magazine. I don’t use the app based on the monthly print issue. I do searches based on key ingredients or type of dishes and like to have my saved recipes. Now I have to go back to the web version. Can’t I just sign in using my online login rather than “subscribe” and pay again? So confusing!.Version: 1.5

Unable to downloadUnable to download the nov issue,it tell me to update the app, I go there, download again the app, It is the same app, still unable to download, I delete the app, it did not work either....Version: 1.0

Please fixStill not working please fix used to love this app.Version: 1.0

Too expensiveSave your money and subscribe to the online access instead though their website. It's a much better deal. this is a ripoff..Version: 1.0

Total ripoffI subscribed to this online magazine for four years (40$/yr) but when I stopped my subscription I lost all those recipes! Had I bought the hard copy cookbooks or magazines I would still have them. Don't waste your money online with these folks!.Version: 1.4

Subject is great, app needs workThe contents of the mag is not an issue, if you like Cooks Illustrated it’s a great read but if you are more after the recipes maybe the ATK app is a better choice. My frustration with this app relates to the favourites system. * There is no organisation system so you can’t sort the favourites (by issue, food type, etc.) * When clicking on a favourite in a different issue I get an error that the issue is installing or updating (which is not the case) * The favourites list isn’t backed up so if you swap devices you need to add the favs again * the recipe images in the favs list is in black and white. In Cook’s Country the images are in colour and much easier to browse There’s also no option to makes notes which would be super handy against particular recipes. Please fix!.Version: 1.5

Once was a beautiful appNow just a reprint of the magazine. Seems to have lost the fade-in color photos, the step by step cooking walkthroughs, all of my stared recipes. On the upside, it will be more simple to produce going forward..Version: 2.0

Give us our features backTerrible update. Magazine is now just a much less readable pdf copy. I understand having this as an option for people that want to use less space on their device, but they shouldnt make it standard. May stop my subscription instead of having to use this piece of junk..Version: 2.0

App not working!!!!I have a monthly subscription to cook's illustrated via an app on my iPad. It won't let me download the most recent edition because it says I need to update my app, but its not in my app updates and when I search for cooks illustrated in the App Store, the only option it gives is "open" which merely opens the current app, that doesn't let me open my nov/ dec edition. Annoying. It's not cheap, so fix it..Version: 1.0

BUGGY!Should have read reviews prior to purchasing... it's already been a couple of days and still cannot download full magazine...similar to other reviewers.....Version: 1.0

Download keeps failingAfter several tries, am not able to download the may/June issue. Download fails after about 150mb. Tried deleting the issue and starting again, to no avail..Version: 1.0

Do Not GetIf you expect it will get you access to the website. It doesn't. Only the digital copy of the magazine. If they included access to the website this would deserve five starts. In proper review of the app, the app works well for navigating the magazine. Content is great as usual. DOwnloadingbthe magazine is incredibly slow even using an iPad Pro. Down loaded Magazine uses up storage..Version: 1.5

Don't buy it, you won't be able to read the magThe app is telling me there's a new issue available. When I tap on the issue it tells me I need the latest version of the app. But there's no new version in the App Store..Version: 1.0

What Happened to my RecipesIn the middle of making the Classic sourdough bread “Pain au Levain” sept 16 I suddenly had to log in again and that specific recipe was gone. There was a comment that it was available on their web site but I only got the paywall. Seems like it’s a new version of the app and it’s bad. I’ve only looked a little but the instructional videos seem to be gone. May be it’s time to cancel. I never liked the cooks illustrated environment. Couldn’t output a shopping list, never got family sharing working....Version: 2.0

Didn't honour subscriptionI order Cook's illustrated in December for a year. Instead they gave a free month and then they will renew. Big scam as they price went up 15% and now they have cancelled my subscription unless I renew at the hire price. Not very honest..Version: 1.4

Looks like it should be cool but won't download.I've been trying to download 1issue of this magazine all day and it keeps crashing. I won't be buying another issue..Version: 1.0

Another pay subscription??I subscribe to the physical copy of this magazine and yet I have to pay for this subscription too? Other magazines include this in the cost of their physical subscriptions. Very disappointed..Version: 1.0

Want old app backThis app only lets you download mags. I already have an account with them so this is an added cost. I want the old app back that let you do quick recipe searches..Version: 1.5

Yet againOnce again cooks illustrated demonstrates how not to build an app! This seriously is the worst piece off garbage. It crashes CONSTANTLY!!!!! Every time apple does an update this app ceases working and there is no help from either ATK or Apple. If I hadn't been a sucker and renewed my subscription I would go back to buying the magazine in stores because at least then I could actually read the issue when it's new instead of waiting weeks for things to finally get resolved. If I gave my customers so little respect I'd be out of business!.Version: 1.3

Crashes!!!!Worst app ever! Can't open it!.Version: 1.0

DisappointedI’ve been a subscriber to the app for years now and am pretty disappointed in the newest update. Any of the back issues before this year are just PDF copies of the paper magazines. All of the step-by-steps, color-changing photos, & instructional videos are gone. I liked the app version for these extra features. The current year has this, but once the year is over, I’m sure those will be converted over as well. Seriously considering unsubscribing..Version: 2.0

Won't openThis used to work but suddenly it will no longer open. Hope this can be fixed. I have a paid subscription so will require a refund if it continues to not open.Version: 1.0

Doesn't honour print or web site subscriptionsI'm both a print and web site subscriber of Cooks Illustrated, which you'd think would get me access to the issues I've bought in the app. But no, it's not linked to either subscription and is just a money grab. Why isn't this just through Newstand like National Geographic? Where a print subscription gets you the issues in Newstand for free..Version: 1.4

Landscape view on iPadWhy do I have to look at this in portrait view. My iPad stand is in landscape. This should be a very simple fix..Version: 1.5

Subscription doesn’t workPaid for the subscription to the magazine through App Store and still can’t view any of the magazines. Quit the app and restarted it even rebooted my iPad and still can’t view the magazines. Unsubscribed and deleted the app..Version: 2.0

Great app, but I already subscribe! Why should I have to pay yet another fee to access the recipes electronically? I already subscribe to the magazine and the website. I’m tempted to cancel my paper subscription (more expensive than the app, frankly) and just go with this. ATK, you’re getting greedy here - where is the option for those of us already paying you?.Version: 2.0

Whoa! Another charge?? Really?Guys, just so I’m clear: as a Cooks Illustrated long time subscriber (10+ yrs) when I left the full Monty subscription of Cook’s Country, Test Kitchen video, etc after 5 years and downsized to just Cooks Illustrated I lost **all** my saved recipes and you defended it. Now, you want me to pay *extra* for the App? Nowhere in business land does that happen. Not for the NYT, London Times, Wall Street Journal. Nowhere. Your greed has become unbearable and frankly, unacceptable..Version: 2.0

Repeatedly chargedPurchased subscription but still get charged to download issues..Version: 1.3

Great magazine terrible AppI subscribe to Cooks Illustrated. Every single time I open the d**ned app it requires me to sign in which is a pain if all I want is to do a quick check on a recipe. I am not opening the app to read the magazine. I am looking for a specific recipe. That’s why I pay for the app, OK? So I can search. Worse, this last time I can’t even find where to sign in! What the heck? Let subscribers stay signed in. Make the search bar the FIRST thing that one sees when opening the app..Version: 1.5

New App Update Takes Away YEARS of Step By Step VideosI have been subscribing to Cooks Illustrated for my iPad for 5+ years. I have loved it. Until now. With the new app update the rich interactive versions of the magazines with a cooking mode, step by step videos for each recipe is GONE. In its place is simply a PDF of the magazine. Years of videos are gone from my iPad. I feel like we have been cheated and lied too. I will be reporting this to Apple and I hope someone considers a lawsuit. What we paid for has been taken away and is gone forever. Thats simply unacceptable..Version: 2.0

Cannot linkI can’t link my subscription of 20+ years to the app. Have emailed tech support twice, and no reply. If I could have given 0 stars, I would, because that’s how much experience I have with the app..Version: 1.5

It's a good startIt's nice to see that Cooks Illustrated has finally come to the iPad. I didn't experience the problems with downloading that others seem to have had, but it did take quite a while (about 2 minutes) for the issue to start downloading after I pushed the Purchase button. There are a few things that could be improved. For example: As a cooking mag, I'd love the ability to add bookmarks so I can find my 'Favorites' later (would be really nice if that worked even if I've removed the mag from the device). When I use the printed version, I often end up writing little notes to myself for later. Would really like to be able to do that here aswell. Should be able to get the iPad version for free if you've got a printed subscription (as some other mag apps allow). It's not perfect (I quite like the 'Cooking Mode'), but as I say, it's a good start. Oh: Would also be nice if we could get an ATK mag as well..Version: 1.0

Won't openThe new issue was downloaded and I got to look thru it once but now it won't open. I click on the issue and it shuts down..Version: 1.0

Requires $$$ even if you have an accountEven if you have an account with their website, you still have to pay a separate subscription to use the app. Unfortunately, this isn’t terribly surprising since they tend to nickel and dime people anyway..Version: 2.0

Old app is betterI already subscribe to the magazine and don’t see why I need to fork out more money to get the online app that seems to only access the magazines that I already pay for. The old app was great! It let you access the same information as the cooks illustrated web site (which is another expense), such as my favorite recipes and let’s you create a shopping lists. I have always been a huge fan of America’s Test Kitchen but I don’t like that one has to pay for so many different apps and websites to get to their great stuff. Please bring back to old app!!!!!!.Version: 1.5

Fraud and theftWhen I paid for my subscription, my understanding was that I was paying for access to the issues indefinitely, just as if I were getting a mail subscription. Now, however, I cannot access any of the issues I have paid for. You are giving “Yankee traders” a bad name..Version: 2.0

More fee?Already pay for online subscription. Having to pay twice for this is ridiculous..Version: 1.0

Only HalfSame problem as the rest stops around the 150 mb area and won't finish downloading, please fix!.Version: 1.0

Web access app neededThis app does not replace the old app that I used for mobile access my web subscription. The old app won't run on IOS 11 and this new app requires yet another subscription. I love the reliability of the recipes and the techniques provided but everything has a price limit. Mine has been reached..Version: 1.5

I already give them enough moneyI subscribe to the physical magazine, their website, plus the america's test kitchen site, and yet i can't get these without giving them another subscription fee? don't get me wrong i love their magazine and site, but i feel like i'm being nickel and dimed for every little incremental improvement. other magazines i subscribe to (the physical magazine) let me download the electronic versions for free. i'm done with atk and cooks illustrated..Version: 1.0

Too much storage requiredGet rid of the videos. I spend an hour redownloading a single recipe.. If I keep more than one issue downloaded, I run out of device storage. Also takes up to 30 minutes to download each issue..Version: 2.0

I am being double chargedEven though I've purchased the one year subscription for my iPad (through the newsstand app), I can't view new editions unless I pay for them again. My subscription doesn't expire until 22 October 2013.Version: 1.2

Downloading problemsThe downloading keeps failing about halfway through..Version: 1.0

CrashesThe app crashes a lot, doesnt load and then just blinks off. Unrealiable app if you actually want to read it when you want to..Version: 1.4

Paid Automatic subscription but cannot downloadI have automatic subscription and automatic download for this magazine, paid for it in June 2013. Finally have the time to read the magazines when I realize that none of the issues starting may 2013 were accessible to me, they want me to pay an additional $7 for the each issue even though I had paid for the yearly subscription. Is anyone else experiencing this problem, or is cook illustrated just anything blood sucking scammer?.Version: 1.2

Need a fixSame thing for me....Version: 1.0

App won't openThis app used to work nicely, but I haven't been able to open it since middle of December. Looks like it is going to open, then just goes back to Newsstand. Very frustrating..Version: 1.0

More moneyI love cook's illustrated, but this has gone too far - I pay for their web subscription, now this requires more money to purchase each issue!!!!? No thanks..Version: 1.0
