Cook's Illustrated Magazine for Positive User Reviews

Please Get this App Fixed.I have a subscription to Cook's that I am unable to enjoy. As I, and others, have previously said the latest issue will not download!!.Version: 1.0

Simply the bestCI has developed the best digital magazine I've ever used. Never had an issue with any iPad or iPad Pro. Seamless, fast and a joy to use. Bookmarks carry through all issues so doesn't matter if I'm in the wrong issue, I can still find all my bookmarked recipes and articles. Embedded videos play without a hitch. Simply the best..Version: 1.5

New app is disappointingRecipes are good, but the elimination of video content and bookmark features of former favourite recipes is a great disappointment. If I wasn’t committed since 2013, I wouldn’t keep it as this has the old recipes I had paid for.Version: 2.0

Nicely done.No download issues on either of our iPads (original and latest). Very impressed and just changed to yearly subscription. At first glance I'd like to see a share/print option (especially for ingredients). I've only had the app for a few hours, so maybe I'll get by just fine without such features..Version: 1.0

Great, but...This is a great app, cannot wait for Cooks Country app. Just one thing, why can't the digital editions be free for those who already have print subscriptions like myself? Martha Stewart does it, as do many others, come on guys this would be a great benefit..Version: 1.0

This app fails to openI have been a digital subscriber to Cooks Illustrated for about 6 years and was previously happy with the subscription. However, currently the app no longer works! Clicking on app support merely links back to the Cooks Illustrated website. There is no trouble shooting advice for the app on that website nor is there a simple way to contact somebody for assistance. Very poor customer support for digital subscribers lets down an otherwise very good publication. I have paid for a magazine that I cannot access - disappointing....Version: 1.5

Could you please update this app .Dear sirs: I love your magazine , but could you please update this app, I find your current display of your magazine not reader friendly. Could you please consider going back to the old one? I have been a digital subscriber for many years and I also am a subscriber to your web page. I love to cook and always turn to the experts for advice..Version: 2.0

Very happy w/ new versionI was getting worried that CI and CC were not going to update their apps before they aged out for my iPad iOS. But they made it. I like the smooth functionality of the various swipes, and that I still can have the "feel" of paging through a physical magazine. Well done!.Version: 1.5

ExcellentI have never been disappointed! I have been reading cook’s for years and have become a much better cook..Version: 2.0

Love it!Haven't had the magazine for a year because I ran out of space in my house - this solves that issue! Well laid out with interactive content - just awesome and cheaper than the paper copy. Well worth it for this kitchen staple!.Version: 1.2

What happened to the photosOld issues in app looks awful. Why did you remove the color photos????? Also I have to redownload all the back issues which takes forever. Not user friendly at all..Version: 2.0

Our reliable favoritesMy husband enjoys cooking from his his tablet (the paper copies we leaf through and then give to a friend). There's nothing about the app I can think of to criticize. I even like the way the illustrations appear in black and white, as in the paper edition, then change to color -- cool!.Version: 1.5

Stable and Artful AppThis app is solid when I run it; it holds its place and does not crash like so many others do. The way pages perfectly glide and show much better pictures than the print edition does, and I was a fan of that for sure. I've never given a 5-star rating to an app before, but this one it that good in my opinion..Version: 1.5

This is what I have been waiting for.I recently wrote a negative review because they had not updated their app to 64bit for it to work in iOS11. Since I wrote that review, they have come out with an 64 bit version and I updated my older version. I am using an iPad Pro 2. I was able to successfully open the new version, downloaded the newest Sep/Oct issue and began reading it. However, when I tried to watch the videos embedded in the first two recipes, they would not play. The rest of the videos seem to be working. Had the first two worked, I would have rated this with five stars. With the videos and other interactive features, the digital version is much more satisfying that the printed version. Plus, I don't have to find a place to store the back issues..Version: 1.5

Excellent MagazineI usually pick up this magazine at the supermarket, but don't always see it. I just downloaded the latest version of their app & bought one issue. I like the implementation of their magazine. The B&W intro photo fades to full colour - very cool! They also include videos which help. I just bought one issue, but will switch to a yearly subscription. All around, it is an excellent magazine..Version: 1.1

Great Magazine, Great AppI love this magazine for its thorough research and polished presentation, and the app does a good job of making it easily accessible..Version: 1.5

Elegant and tasty tooCook's Illustrated on the iPad is a gorgeously presented magazine, recipes are available in a follow-me style, step by step for use in the kitchen along with the traditional print layout. Each article is navigated independently and easy to follow and for added success there are also video clips for technique. These features make it a no-brainer for the cook eager to try new recipes or improve their skill. Add in the tips and equipment reviews and you have what is probably the finest cooking resource available in the iPad magazine store..Version: 1.0

Doesn’t workThe app flat out doesn’t work on later versions of iOS now. Not worth subscribing if I cannot access what I paid for. Womp..Version: 1.5

The definitive cooking sourceI am a charter subscriber to Cook's Illustrated. I converted from print to electronic as soon as it was available. I religiously go through the issues page by page. I love how the recipe photos bloom from monochrome to full color when you swipe to the next page. The story, recipe, cooking mode and video give you everything you need to conquer the recipes..Version: 1.5

Excellent iPad editionCook's Illustrated is my favorite cooking magazine. The iPad edition is excellent and the addition of videos is very helpful. Good job. I am looking forward to seeing where they take it from here..Version: 1.0

No print abilityI love the convenience of cooks digitally. However,it’s very annoying to not be able to print the recipes you like. Even screen shots are very hard to do. May go back to print edition. I sent an email to editor but have had no response..Version: 2.0

Great appYou can trust that if Cooks Illustrated develops a product, they will do it well..Version: 1.5

Excellent Individual issuesEasy to move through articles. Only suggestion for MAJOR improvement, have a searchable index without the need for major subscription upgrade..Version: 1.5

Best Magazine EverIt does not matter if your a experienced chef or a novice home cook, there’s something for everyone in this magazine. I’ve learned so much. It’s an easy read and extremely well written. It’s a must have in my humble opinion..Version: 2.0

Enjoy the contentEnjoy the content. Would like the app to a landscape view. I would also like the option to print a recipe.Version: 1.5

Detailed instructionsI love the research that is done for each story and recipe..Version: 2.0

I wish the recipes were searchable.I love the ap, and the updated version is great but finding your favorite recipe to go back to is impossible, the cover pages are too small to read the contents and opening each issue is too time consuming. Please make the recipes searchable, or at least printable for those of us who don’t get the paper version..Version: 1.5

Still The Best* (Updated)The print edition has always been a favorite, but the app brings the magazine to vibrant life, with all the great articles, recipes, lovely layout and artwork but with the addition of video displaying each step. If you're a fan of the print edition, do yourself a favor and buy this. If you're unfamiliar, then prepare to enjoy a new favorite. I've been using this for three years now, and have been extremely happy, and have not had any of the problems described by some.* *After some concern regarding plans to phase out the app, I am very pleased that the decision has been made to update to support 32 bit. I really prefer to view the digital version through the app, given the great work done with it, and am thankful the decision was made to continue in this format..Version: 1.5

Enjoy this APPIf a paper subscription to COOKS Illustrated is your bible, this app is a fantastic addition. Extra pictures of cooking steps are worth it, alone. Hope you enjoy! Also, recommend ATK the website, also, sign up on website. The app is not as functional-recipes... website has tv episodes well organized, and learning tip videos 2-4 minutes. Recipes can be printed out..Version: 1.5

Janette HillI love Cook’s Illustrated...I have been a subscriber for forever. The recipes and cooking techniques have been a delight and have contributed to many delicious family meals including providing great inspiration for entertaining guests when I need something to make them say Wow! And, the product information is so well done and has proven to be a source that I can use to help keep me informed about a wide variety of interesting finds. Thank you so much for a beautiful publication ❤️.Version: 2.0
