The Great Coffee App for Negative User Reviews

Brilliant appNeed a lot update.......Version: 2.3

I'm embarrassed!!I can't believe I fell for this! £0.69p wasted! Don't download! There is nothing in this app!! It lists types of coffees in a nice way, but nothing else! No content!! I was expecting videos on how!! Disappointed!! UPDATE: new videos are brilliant!! Maybe some technical notes to go with it? Milk temperature etc?? Thank you.Version: 2.0

InterestingI learned about all of the silly coffee drinks that people seem to crave these days. The artwork and photography are excellent. The background music is cool too. In the end, just give me a normal coffee, please..Version: 2.3

LaggyStutters whenever changing pages.Version: 3.3.2

Need measurements and ratiosIt didn’t even mention in the flat white that it needs ristretto. There is no mention on milliliters or amounts. I like to b exact. It’s a good app but not good enough. Needs more precise amounts mentioned when it says how to make drinks. Ratio is key to getting flavor right. Sad but want my money back. :/.Version: 3.2

Slick but severely lackingI got this app for free and still feel like I paid too much. Essentially, it gives pictures and descriptions of espresso-based drinks. The same information is readily available over the Internet. Other reviewers have described this app as “lazy,” and I agree. There is so much more information that could have been included. For instance, the attributes of different types of coffee beans (e.g. Arabica vs. Robusta). Or how about the characteristics of different coffees (Kenya vs. Sumatra) in terms of flavor, acidity, earthiness, etc.? Also, I could think of a number of coffee brewing techniques not included here. I know the focus of the app is plainly on the “elite” brewing methods. But lots of people who haven’t “graduated” to Keurig still use drip machines. Some of us might still have a percolator that gets pulled out for camping trips. And then there’s a concoction known as “cowboy coffee.” Moreover, you discuss Turkish coffee. What about Greek and Arab coffees? Lots of work is needed here..Version: 3.3.2

Aero Press is upside downThe demo for the Aero Press is upside down but I'm happy about it because I didn't understand how to do it that way. Other than the espresso section this is very basic since it shows the steps of brewing but nothing about the science of different techniques, types of beans, temperature or grind. It's nice to see a simple cup brew for emergencies but it failed to address the same reason people have resorted to instant crystal types- emergency coffee needs. The demo includes powdered milk product- if anyone uses that in anything they're fouling the beverage unless it's a comfort food for them. Yes, that happens. This is pretty much a one time use app unless you get a new brewing system. There's better ways to learn about coffee.Version: 3.3.2

Confuses cold drip with cold brewA very pretty little app with a couple of interesting coffees, but VERY limited. Worst it has images of brewers, including a Japanese cold drip brewer which it calls 'cold brew'. It's not. The two coffees are nothing alike. One is a concentrate, the other isn't. Shame the makers are all about pretty images but know nothing about coffee..Version: 3.0.1

Useless for making coffeeNice user interface, but completely lacking any specific details needed for brewing coffee..Version: 3.0.1

Lacks ratiosBeautiful app with images and videos but doesn’t tell you how much of what goes in making the drink. Needs ratios!.Version: 3.4.2

Great app but poor sharing functionalityI really enjoyed the experience when inside the app. Cool features, nice music but when it comes to social media sharing, the button is really hard to find then even worse, tapping becomes a pain, and finally once you manage to toggle the iOS in-app buttons, on Facebook will share an unfortunate image of just 320px by 180px(!). However still deserves a good 3-star review for me. Looking forward to future updates..Version: 2.3.2

Not descriptiveThe lack of specificity and direction do not make this app ideal. It does have a nice variety of pictures and very ambiguous directions for prepping the coffee drinks. Things like water temp, amount of grounds, coarseness, etc are non existent for the most part..Version: 3.0.1

Great interface, could use a little more variationIt could use more espresso based drink preparation (e.g cortado, au lait, bombon)..Version: 3.4

Needs ratiosIt pains me to put 3 stars because the functionality and presentation is superb, but the lack of brew ratios makes it a 3 star app. For instance if you look at Turkish coffee brew method it says to put "some" finely ground coffee into the brew vessel. They do include ratios for the basic espresso drinks which is awesome but they need it for everything else. I understand there is some debate and personal preference involved with brew ratios but I was hoping to use this app as a consolidated reference for coffee drinks. A baseline or start point is too easy and would make this a beautiful one stop shop for coffee brewing info..Version: 3.0.1

Turn off the musicThe app is great and beautifully designed, but the fact that it turned off the music on my iPod, and then I couldn't find the settings to turn the music off is absolutely ridiculous. That's like UI Design 101, guys, come on!.Version: 2.3

Always quit automaticallySick.Version: 3.3.2

Good start.Needs more information. I know it says introduction but god. There is no way I'd pay for this APP!!! Needs to be more specific with information on what drinks are. Better definitions. Videos aren't that informative and the sounds are atrocious!.Version: 2.3

What a waste of 69pence!!!Pictures of coffees! You can get these free on the web...Dont waste your time with this. Its a rip off.Version: 2.0

I couldn't rate it zero starsIt was possibly the most useless app I have ever come across. Horrible don't download.Version: 2.3

Nice to look at, but...I was looking a great coffee app (not sure what "a great coffee app" would be; I was kind of assuming this app would show me), but this app just looks neat. Nothing more to it. You'd think at the very least, there'd be detailed descriptions on how exactly to make the drinks illustrated in the app -- but nope, just pictures and (admittedly fairly well-written) descriptions. Maybe more of a history on each drink? Maybe that's all to come? Hopefully. Otherwise, this app comes across as a bit lazy, even if it's nice to look at..Version: 1.1

Music on/off???Can you turn the annoying music off? Made me want to throw my phone in a field and run away!.Version: 2.3

This must be a jokeI don’t see how this has any good ratings because the “recipes” don’t include ratios. There is no measurement provided for quantity of coffee vs water. I can’t believe this actually cost money. Boo..Version: 3.0.1

Incomplete!!!No ratios given?! I know it’s easy to find ratios online and preference also comes into play but coffee apps should be a one stop place, there’s much better apps out there (some for free, most for less than $3) they include ratios and timers. This one is a waste..Version: 3.1

Ok, but...Informative, but the navigation is really intrusive. Having to scroll up every piece of text with a strange scroll effect is completely needless and the single biggest pointless whizz bang effect used. The top navigation is fiddly (and there is no icon for it) and the iPhone's own notifications often scroll down over the app. Other than the above getting in the way, the graphics and overall layout seem well made, and despite the awkwardness of the text, it is informative and well written..Version: 2.3

Labmar.Version: 1.1
