✓ Excellent game!It took me a while to get into the heads of the creators of this game, but using a few of the hints (which you can use throughout the whole game if you need to) I soon got into it and loved the weird complexity of the puzzles and clues - brilliant little games within the game too, but don't overlook those - everything is a potential clue. The graphics/design are fantastic, my daughter repeatedly used the words 'scary' and 'freaky' when she played it (in a way that only 14 year olds can), not that she seemed either scared or freaked out by anything, and I loved the dark world Glitch Games created. Very very cool game, I bought Episode 2 as soon as I'd finished this one, and am now waiting impatiently for Episode 3! I'm also hoping they're not playing with us by using the word 'forever' in the title. Many, many more please!.Version: 1.4

✓ Full of glitchesMy clock lost one hand and is making a horrible sound. I can't set the time with only one hand! I'm stuck in the map maze part of the game. The maze (with the torch) was fine the first time I did it, but if you go back into it and make your way through to the end again, there is no way out. You're stuck. (And yes, I did close the game down fully to see if that would fix the glitch and it didn't. I'm still stuck with no way out). Pity as I was enjoying it until the glitches happened. ✓ Top DrawerYou can tell this game has a touch of class from the moment it begins. It has a movie-style opening after which, much like RealMyst, you are left to wander around without any idea of what you are supposed to be doing. You must begin to piece together your own backstory whilst at the same time trying to escape from your incarceration. To escape you have to solve a series of excellent puzzles and look for clues. If you have ever played any of these kind of games then you will be aware that this is standard fare for this genre. What sets games up into the levels of RealMyst and Machinarium is attention to detail, atmosphere and absorbing gameplay. Forever Lost has all three in bucketloads. The environment is exquisitely rendered, the gameplay, whilst clunkier than myst, flows well enough to facilitate the narrative and there are some truly chilling moments. It is this last point that sets this game apart and this is enhanced by the darkness being counterbalanced by humour and intelligent quips. To summarise, this is a game to be experienced and enjoyed. It is great to see British software producers making their mark and adding there own twists. This game will leave you with more questions than answers. Well worth the money. Looking forward to Episode 2....Version: 1.1

✓ Really well-designed gameI’ve been playing a few escape type games recently and this is up there at the top. The puzzles may sometimes be hard but they’re still intuitive. As opposed to too easy (boring!) or completely arbitrary (what…). As a result, I felt it was worth it to keep plugging away without walkthroughs because I trusted that there were discoverable logical solutions that didn’t rely on randomly tapping everything you see! Very atmospheric but with humour laced through. I’m not a big fan of creepy horror stuff but it wasn’t laid on too thick. I appreciate the ability to take photos too, as keeping a notebook around isn’t always practical. Thanks to all involved for this game; onto the sequel!.Version: 2.1.1

✓ Number 1 room escapes seriesI am a bit lazy so I am leaving a review, for the entire series, this is quite comfortably the best series of room escape games. It has a compelling yet dark story line that has kept me gripped throughout. The puzzles are the perfect challenge that really get you thinking, I will try to reference without spoiling different challenges that got me thinking for a while: Think outside the box (forever lost 2) Keep this for the Vikings (forever lost 3) These two guys making these games are pure genius. The only thing that I would slate is.. Why did it take so long to release number three!! Do you know how long I kept going back on the App Store hoping number three would be available, I had almost given up hope. Also each episode gets better, as it goes along. ✓ Absolutely brilliantThese games are so well thought out. This is far beyond your basic “find the key and unlock the door to escape” game. The puzzles are challenging, but thoroughly rooted in logic. If you get stuck, their hint system is just enough to give you the exact nudge you need without giving anything away. The graphics are beautiful and the music is perfectly creepy. I haven’t started the third game in the series yet, and I am already lamenting when it will be over and I will be done. ✓ A really good game but...Firstly, it definitely earns the full five stars. Well worth a play if you enjoy games with exploration, puzzles and escape all rolled into one. However, there were some niggling issues for me. Firstly, the hints might seem like a user friendly idea but they should require a mini game or something to access each time. You sneak a peak at one and then the instant your brain starts to ache you go running back for more hints until you are having your hand held through most of it. Also, I felt the atmosphere was pretty weak and I'm a wuss. The music was too consistent and too upbeat. I remember a game I played where the music was subtle and full of daggers and it would fade in and out so that you'd suddenly notice the silence and crap yourself or you'd suddenly noticed the music... And crap yourself. More ambient noise would have been nice too - dripping water etc. All in all a really good game!.Version: 1.1

I suppose there is more to it, in the fact there are many places to go and find clues. At times I was researching on the net about hieroglyphics as I was really stuck, but then it all came together! ONE GLITCH: If you play Iception again after you open the treasure box, there’s no way to exit and return to the Waiting Room. ✓ Epic once you understand itI downloaded this originally a year or so back but deleted it after an hour or so as i didn’t really get it!! Decided to give it another go recently and was hooked, couldn’t put my iPad down until i completed it. The hint system is superb but it is easy to rely on it which takes the puzzle out of the whole process so I recommend only using it when you’re really stuck and start losing interest. I found that once I got into the game it all made more sense and I downloaded the second and third instalments before even completing this one. I love the room series and house of da Vinci along with Tiny Bang, Alleys, all that remains and so on, if you are a fan of any of these I have mentioned I am sure you will like this. And to be honest you can’t buy a pint of beer for what this cost so it is not ever really a gamble 👍👏🥇.Version: 2.0.2
✓ Thanks for the awesome adventureThis game is for anyone, like me, who missed those glorious adventure games when they moved to iOS. I still really miss my DOS games, and text adventures funnily enough, but this game has taken away some of the pain associated with our parting of ways. A lot of the puzzles in this were really hard, but it's okay, there is an extensive in game hint system, so I wasn't stuck for long. Puzzles were not always intuitive, and there was a lot of backtracking, which I like, but it meant a lot of remembering where things were, something I'm not always great at. Be warned though, if you buy this game you'll be left wanting more, and you will not be able to stop until you've played the whole of episode 1 and 2. There is no episode 3 as of yet, but I'm told it's coming. In the meantime I'm gonna play Ferris Mueller and Alice's Cabin, which perhaps I should've played before episode 1 as it's a prequel. I'm a person who likes things in order, like episodes I-VI of Star Wars in that order..Version: 1.4

I was instantly amazed at the amazing graphics and design by Simon (I believe), where clearly a lot of effort was put into it. Also the puzzles were great fun and really made me think, although I had no choice but to use the hints for a couple, particularly with the banana (trying not to spoil this for anyone!) where I would've never got it without the hint. Also I managed to lose the wrench at some point, which I think has now been fixed with the update. ✓ So difficult but funI think the difficulty was partially because of the number of rooms you had to visit. You kind of lost track as to which were complete ie there was nothing left to do or collect from them. I spent a lot of time going in and out. Most of the puzzles made sense, but due to the interlinking of many puzzles, when you thought you’d finished it, it came up again later on. Effective use of the camera is a must!
