What is Desktop Groups? Description of Desktop Groups 1265 chars
** No more chaos on your desktop. Keep related files on in groups. **
Lifehacker verdict: “If you've got a messy desk, this app can help you regain control.”
The app lets you create groups of related files on your desktop. You can freely move groups of files around on your desktop and add or remove files via drag & drop.
Each group has a title so that you can organize your files any way you like. For example, you could create separate groups for each project you are working on, or add separate groups for photos and text documents. If you frequently take screenshots, that would be another good fit for a group. The possibilities are endless.
Quick Look integration: press Space or Cmd-Y to open a Quick Look preview of the selected file.

Desktop Groups Pros
✓ GoodThis his certainly helped me keep the desktop tidy and clean looking. It would be nice to be able to drag files into folders without first having to open the folder, and the alias handling could be better. But overall, I'm glad I bought it..Version: 1.3
✓ Much Needed ApplicationI was a long time user of a similar Windows App called "Fences" and have been searching for a Mac alternative. This is a relatively new App and I am looking forward to updates. I agree with James that the ability to drop files into embedded folders would be a welcome feature. Also a quicker method of hide and show would be nice. ( Fences used a "Double Click on the Desktop" ). Other features like Icon Spacing, and Colors would also be great. If you like to keep your desktop simple and organized this is an Outstanding App!.Version: 1.0

✗ Wish it were more like Fences for WindowsWould be nice if they could take some functionality cues from Stardock Fences in Windows….I love fences and it's the reason I purchased this app…but overall needs be improved a lot..Version: 1.4.1
✗ Nice Idea, But.Great concept. Just like "Fences" for Windows… Except the developer left something critical out: How come you can't use keyboard shortcuts to manage the files inside a group? Command-A, Command-V, etc.? You can do that by default with Mountain Lion's default/native desktop. This app takes that function away from apps which are in "groups". As soon as this changes, I will give it 5 stars..Version: 1.3
