✓ Doesn't work...I love this game, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on iPhones. I have an iPhone 8 and it's updated, but when I hit new game all I see is a black screen that doesn't change after a couple minutes. So I have to say don't buy this version, get either the Switch remake or try to find the original DS version. Having spent a lot of money on this, and having it take up a massive amount of data on my phone, I really want to see this fixed soon. ✓ Why is it not universal?Why is this game not playable universally on both the iPhone and iPad without forking out another extortionate price tag for the exact same bloody thing?! Even worse, you can't even download the iPhone version onto you iPad to enjoy, even with the lower resolution on a larger screen. ✓ Great, but sadly the original is better.The game feels right at home on the IOS, and the changes to the combat are great, but they make the game a very different beast than the DS version, which emphasized multitasking. The game’s graphics are crisp and clean, at times perhaps too much so, that the game feels slightly “off” in some way. The remastered tracks are great, and the new music is just as good, but the placement of said music is absolutely horrible at times, with the game often playing tunes that just don’t fit. ✓ Odd and frustratingAs an avid Square fan I forked out for this after reading all the rave reviews. I was expecting an RPG at its best and began playing as soon as it loaded up. It is not a traditional RPG and although the soundtrack did indeed rock, I found that the art style was not to my taste, I found it confusing and the constant 3 second breaks staring at a blank screen did my head in. Pretty sure its to ‘encourage’ players to buy the Nintendo Switch remake which sells for 50USD. Square Enix is notorious for cash grabs like this, so that’s no surprise. ✓ End of an era...Once this game was absolutely amazing. I remember when it was first released on iOS and it was just incredible! Phenomenal music, brilliant gameplay, and a truly Epic story. ✓ Great game, needs iCloud and iPhone X support!Two things stop this from being rated higher for me. Firstly, this is a fantastic game and I am glad it is available on iOS. However, it needs to be updated to support the X and XS’ larger display... even if that’s just a border like Capcom has done with some of their premium games.
