PushFit for Negative User Reviews

Face detection no longer workingThis app was great for about a week. Now it doesn’t have face detection so the only way it can count push-ups is by pressing the button with my nose. It’s no longer worth using if this feature isn’t included..Version: 2.6.8

CrashesKeeps crashing on the count down to start so you can’t use it for your workout, only had it a day and wasn’t able to use it for the afternoon..Version: 2.6.2

Too many adsI used this app for roughly a year and the ads were tolerable. Now they pop up between every push up. I can literally do one push up before being interrupted by an ad, which defeats the purpose of trying to do many..Version: 1.40

Looks nice but fails the most basic testHave just started the Cancer Research U.K. push-up challenge so wanted something to record my efforts. The basic problem is it counts wrongly. It seems that the app needs to see your face through the front camera. This makes sense so I’ve got it right below my face when I’m doing push-ups. If I get too close to the screen when I dip down it counts one dip as two. It’s relatively easy to avoid this until you start to get tired then it’s a nightmare. So, you place it further under your body so you nose doesn’t occasionally touch it. But then it records no push-ups (which is really annoying when every one counts in a sponsorship. I think a simple note on my iPhone will probably be the best approach..Version: 2.7.1

Doesn’t detect push upsNo tutorial on how best to position yourself (or the phone) to detect push ups so instead you’re left doing push ups in the app’s vicinity in the vague hope it will magically detect them somehow. Which it doesn’t. Then you pick it up to look for any guidance on what you’re missing and it detects THAT as a push up. Less than ideal..Version: 2.4.6

Great but buggyWonderful app, but I originally downloaded it so I could compete with my dad but no matter how many times I try and invite him to be friends he doesn’t show up, so it basically defeats the point of the app if you can’t track your friends. Please fix it :(.Version: 2.5.10

Have to touch it with your face to workI like the idea of this app, but it doesn’t read push-ups unless I go all the way down and touch the screen with my face. Doing normal push-ups doesn’t register so it’s a useless app. I’m giving it to stars because I do like the idea of it and if they will change it so it will detect a push-up coming down to a thin a few inches of the screen. I will change my rating but until then it doesn’t do anything..Version: 2.7.0

Needs updatingIt would have 5 stars if the app was updated to support newest version of iOS but sadly not. It was good..Version: 1.40

Causes my watch to continually think I’m exercising. The app does the job with counting push-ups. However the watch app will constantly read as you are exercising even after you are done doing push-ups. Closing the app doesn’t turn off exercise either. I have to reboot my watch to get it to stop..Version: 2.6.6

Need pro version 👎I downloaded this to keep track of my push ups. Tried it and learned quickly that you need to purchase the Pro Version in order to see your daily/monthly progress and totals. Instantly deleted app. I'll just stick to writing the numbers down..Version: 2.4.6

Only counts about halfEven when I get to about an inch from the phone, it's hit or miss that it will count the rep..Version: 2.6.6

Not usefulSensing of each push-ups are not proper. I tried using different positions. You need to concentrate more on the app than the actual effort for push up. Not serving the purpose.Version: 2.6.6

Counter unreliableNot sure if it was just the hardware, but the counter was very unreliable rendering the app virtually useless for me. iPhone XR..Version: 2.5.5

Ok counter but manualIt does not seem to consistently see each push-up. More often than not, I have to manually advance at the end of each set..Version: 2.5.6

UselessThis app is garbage avoid it.Version: 2.5.3

Issues with counter not workingI have changed the settings several times and still having issues with the counter working WHILE doing the push-ups. I’ve come to the point where I just rap on my phone screen 50 times after doing 50 reps. Other than this, great app..Version: 2.6.9

Push-upsWhen I did push-ups I did not count but although it was good.Version: 2.6.9

Almost thereVery cool concept. My only grief is that the counter isn’t accurate…or it requires very specific positioning to count a push-up. And I don’t do those silly cheat push-ups, lock out the arms and chest an inch from the floor..Version: 2.6.5

Why?!Why would this app be marketed as able to count push-ups…when physical interaction is required to count them? If the screen has to be touched to count the push-up, why not change the name to “screen push up challenge” or something more honest?! Disappointing..Version: 2.7.1

Not greatSeems cool but after trying all the settings and using my ultra watch it won’t count for me so I tap the in my reps after I’m done I wish this would work for me.Version: 2.7.1

ModerateGreat for COUNTING push-ups, not so great for keeping track of them after without purchasing the upgraded version..Version: 2.6.5

Proximity sensor.I love the idea of this app, and have only been using it for a couple of days. I couldn’t get the face tracking to work so it did not record any movement. Switched to the proximity sensor which gave a better result, but unless my nose touches the phone it doesn’t record every press up 20 out of 30. Personal choice but I also find the screen distracting. I will persevere for a bit longer as I love the idea to track my progress and record my activity.Version: 2.7.1

Useless. Constantly crashes and loses all historyAwful app. It's constantly crashing which means all workouts and history are lost..Version: 2.7.5

Has potential but very frustratingThe app does not do facial recognition and sometimes when you touch the app with your face to make account your push-up it does not work. Very frustrating to have to keep stopping to add your reps. Then when it does not count your push-ups for too long, it automatically goes to a pause, and that’s frustrating because you have to stop unpause it count your reps and then continue..Version: 2.6.9

Stops detecting pushupsI’ve known this app for a long time and the friends and challenge side of it is what keeps me coming back. But recently it started not detecting push ups after 2-3 push ups for no reason at all. So my friends and I are having to tap what we count..Version: 2.7.1

Basically ok but...The description fails to mention that almost all of the functionality described requires an upgrade to the paid version of the app. I have also been unable to sync the app to apple’s Health app. It doesn’t seem like that’s also a Pro-only function, but it’s not working for me..Version: 2.4.4

Inaccurate countingWould benefit from being able to adjust miscalculated totals at the end of workouts. Have switched to all methods of counting as advised in other reviews without any improvement.Version: 2.6.7

Nice idea but missing a featureI tried to use the app along with Apple Watch thinking the watch app would track the pushups but it did not. Not a fan if having to constantly tap my phone on each rep. Why can’t Watch track the pushup? I like to no subscription feature most apps have better to just pay for it..Version: 2.6.9

MalfunctionShips some press ups Doesn’t go number per push up.Version: 2.5.1

Maybe in another five yearsTried using an app like this about five years ago and it didn’t work right. I figured technology may have caught up by more and tried this one. Nope. Even using front facing camera I had to manually log over 10 reps out of 100. Then the button to end the workout didn’t work. Had to kill the app and when reopened it didn’t show any push-ups done for the day. Really frustrating..Version: 2.7.1

No detectionI couldn’t get it to recognize facial or approximity. Was about to buy app for everyone at work for some fun. But it’s useless..Version: 2.8.0

Pretty terrible trackingTried both proximity and face sensor tracking and both would not detect all my push ups. I always had to go back and manually adjust how many I did. You have to get very close to the phone for it to work on proximity. Face detection was even worse. You can’t do push-ups too fast or else it won’t detect all of them leaving you to input them yourself anyway. Improve the proximity tracking and I’d use this way more..Version: 2.5.2
