✓ I'll never get to see the full potential of this gameI have come to accept the fact that I'll get so far in the game, then one day I'll try to load and be unable to get past the load screen. Only solution is to reinstall the game and lose all progress. It's happened to me 3 times now. The first time, I was quite far into the game. Solved most heroic levels and unlocked a lot of weapons. Solution would be to have progress save outside of the app? Or fix the crash. I love the game but am losing interest having to repeat the beginning levels of the game only to be stopped again and again due to this bug. Developers put a lot of effort into the game. Let the paying customers see it to the end..Version: 1.8
✓ Pay to playThis game used to be good. They've since changed it so that most of the good towers are nigh on impossible to get (earn one star on average per game played, need 1500+ stars to unlock one single decent tower). I had previously played and unlocked a fair amount of towers through repeated playing but now everything is locked again and they force you to pay or play the same missions thousands of times to unlock the good towers..Version: 1.8

✓ Unfortunate problemsThe other reviews say it all really. Fieldrunners 2 is a superb TD game with well thought out levels, graphics, difficulty, achievements and so on. It was an absolute pleasure on the iPhone to complete so much so that I was willing to fork out the rather hefty price tag to do it all over again and the HD version is a beautiful upgrade. However on my iPad 3 this simply does not work. Map screens are jittery and level loading times are unforgivable - worse than any other game I own (and I own them all). I rarely submit written reviews but I must advise people steer clear if they are not willing to wait for a patch if they run in to trouble. On the odd chance I get into levels the game crashes very frequently (few times per level) and rolls you back a few rounds each time. It is simply unplayable. I have had this for days and only gotten through a couple of levels despite my extensive knowledge of how to complete the game. I must point out that should these problems be fixed I am strongly of the opinion this is a 5* title and I will certainly amend this rating and review when the developers have managed to successfully patch the issues described above..Version: 1.0

✓ Awesome game but a bit too challenging even in casual modeI absolutely love this game. However I feel like I don't want to play it because the levels are just way too difficult. I think after the third level, even in casual mode, it was already so difficult. It's called casual mode for a reason. I can't begin to imagine what the heroic level might be like. Winning games usually makes me want to play it even more. Losing them, and losing them when it's supposed to be 'casual' makes me not want to play it. Graphically it is superb and at its best it makes you think long and hard around solutions. ✓ Game deleted itself.The game deleted itself and when I redownloaded it, my coins were missing about 13,300. The rest of my progress is there, but to have 2 1/2 months of work come up missing is ridiculous. I was just over 500 coins away from getting the polymorph tower. This event left me with 1100 coins. The game is great fun, but this left a sour taste in my mouth. I played it for years on computer and only recently got it for the iPad, so I missed out on getting the polymorph tower for free. Crashes regularly and on reload offers a resume that's some time back. Combined with the huge load time to get to the opening screen and then another huge load time to get to your game make for a frustrating situation. ✓ Oh dear! Still crashes a lotI loved the original Fieldrunners despite it crashing far too often. I was nervous about buying the new one because of the other other reviews but thought I would chance it now it's had an update... Played it for less than 10 minutes and had 4 crashes... Come on guys this simply isn't good enough! You've got a gem of a game on your hands but they've been unstable since the word go and this one seems much worse. Many thousands of more demanding games can avoid constant crashing so why can't you? Important note for those like me that have played the original - when it crashed it would at least reload to the same point in the game so it was a 60 second irritation when it crashed. This one does not save and goes back to the main menu which could result in ENTIRE long games lost... mind you it's only managed about 2 minutes of game play with me in one go so maybe a long isn't possible!! Loading times are slower than the original but not completely terrible (and I'm using an iPad 1). ✓ A great game flawed by frequent crashes and bugsI'm surprised that a game that costs this much has so many bugs in it. The frequent mid game crashes are extremely annoying, especially combined with the slow loading times. In 30 minutes I might spend at least 10 minutes staring at loading screens due to crashes. I've checked the forums and tried the suggestions which reduced the crashes, but loading time is still so painfully slow. If you have a few spare minutes and want a quick game, forget this app. There are selectable items that can be used with each level, but unfortunately, the game won't let me select any! Kind of pointless earning stars to buy items which can't be used! The forum says to replay the tutorial level which will somehow fix the Items bug, but nope... that didn't work. Maybe if I played the game with my left hand while facing north, it'll fix a few bugs. ✓ It's great but.........£5.49 for this kind of app is top end and you would want a top end tower defence game for it. Unfortunately there isn't a great deal of noticeable extras from the £1.99 iPhone app. And that runs really well in x2. But my biggest bug bear is the constant crashing. I have the iPad 3 and have restarted after instal, but there are constant crashes that seem to be random. Sort it out and try and get it right the first time. This wasn't a free app nor a cheap app so don't test it on the end user. Get it right first! Would like to say its a 4 star app if the crashing was fixed. ✓ CrashtasticFabulous HD sequel ruined by constant crashing. Started ok but progressively worse despite having plenty of free space, no other apps running and Airplane mode switched on. Just as I was getting tired of crashing, rebooting and having to replay the previous five rounds again, my latest game won't even reload after rebooting. So I am left with either starting whole thing again or just deleting Fieldrunners2. ✓ Potentially great, but unplayableThis is a fantastic game and totally compelling. HOWEVER it keeps crashing every few minutes and it is driving me mad, so I would avoid until they fix it. How it was allowed to pass testing is beyond me...just shoddy. Secondly, the wait times are beyond a joke. Whether you succeed or fail a round, you will have to wait forever whilst it gets its act together. Most annoying of al is when you try and replay, and it loads...after a huge wait, then promptly crashes...every time. ✓ Good game, not so good coding...Really like this game (also have it on iPhone) but for some reason the load times are awful, even with an iPad3. I also think that the premium price should come with extras that isn't on the iPhone. At the moment I would recommend the iPhone version over this one due to price, features and load time. ✓ Massive load times and frequent crashesI have installed this on both my iPad 2 and and iPhone 4. Firstly, it's appalling you have to pay separately for each version, but I love the game and I'm a mug, so I did. Presumably those responsible realise that they're onto a good thing and hold the purchasing public in such contempt that they'll fleece them for the maximum amount possible. Given my experience with this particular version, I hope I'll have the willpower to veto any more iPad rehashes from these people. Anyway, down to details: The iPad version takes literally minutes from the point of pressing the icon to actually playing a level. I had ZX spectrum games which loaded from a cassette tape quicker. Combined with the fact that every other game is terminated by a crash (usually at a particularly frenetic moment in the gameplay), I'd say this is currently the most frustrating app (of several hundred) that I own. The iPhone version hasn't crashed for me yet and loads a couple of seconds quicker (but is still slower than any other app I own). In summary, if you want an iPad app that will literally make you throw your device at the wall due to an agonising combination of compelling gameplay, massive loading delays then inevitable crashes at the key moment, then spend away! Personally, I'd happily have my money back and stick to the iPhone version..Version: 1.4
