✓ Not FieldrunnersI don’t know exactly what this game is, but it’s not Fieldrunners. I much prefer the charm of the original game with its more basic graphics, on-screen help, and less realistic gore without the painfully lengthy loading times. This is some bizarre cross between the innocence of children’s fairytale graphics and the violence of a more grown-up game. Not a sensible marriage..Version: 3.5.176448
✓ Good but still needs a lot of workFirst off the lag is so bad most of the time. Whether I'm playing on my iPhone 8 Plus or iPad Air 2, you start an attack and then the lag takes over and screws you up. When attacking bases, barracks will automatically spawn troops before you even drop a troop. When using certain troops like Ace, the troops won't spread out to attack defenses, they bunch up and push the troops in front into the defenses area of attack. Horrible physics there. The hospitals need serious work. Multiple heroes will go to one barracks leaving one completely unoccupied. 2 heroes heavily devastated will go to one barracks, while one hero loses one troop and will go to one. I would like to see the hospitals completely taken out of the game. I would also like to see once you reach a certain level with walls, you can use gold and wood to upgrade them. I get stuck with so much gold and nothing to spend it on very quickly..Version: 3.5.176448

✓ A great brand, ruined.I've had many great memories of playing Fieldrunners 1 with my grandfather. I loved the game, so when the second one came out I absolutely LOVED it. Spent days upon days playing it. When I got word of Fieldrunners Attack! I rushed to download it. I was HORRIFIED. Such a disgusting ripoff of a game. A clone of Boom Beach with the Fieldrunners identity smeared all over it. Do not download, you will be disappointed. ✓ Poor connection but ok.Hard to say with poor connection but some neat ideas i.e. Things unlock only when you reach a certain trophy level. It's not the normal FR but a simplistic and colourful Clash type game. Attacks are oddly limited Candy Crush style this means endless attacking is only possible spending gems. ✓ Good but wonky game balanceUpdating my review to a ONE STAR because a couple of times now I've taken down most of a base but can't finish it off because my troops all stand around and stare at the Townhall instead of shooting it. It's nothing like its predecessors and is nothing other than just another "pay to win" cash grab attempt that nickels and dimes its users to death. It's a copy of Clash of Clans and is just another basic "build, attack, wait and repeat" freemium junk awash in a sea of app clones. There's no real strategy like Fieldrunners 1&2. This game is only how much money you can be suckered into paying to win. It's truly a shame. I had so much more respect for Subatomic Studios and the Fieldrunners creative team until this came along. ✓ Money GrabAs a huge fan of Fieldrunners 2, it’s disappointing to see the developer switch to a blatant pay to win, money grabbing, IAP model designed to create maximum anxiety and addiction. In order for this to function as a normal video game, you would have to consistently shell out hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on a regular basis. These types of games should be avoided at all costs. I purchased Fieldrunners 2 and Fieldrunners 1 at full price and never made an IAP. Those games were fun, engaging, rewarding, and deserving of the multiple awards they received. This is pure trash, designed solely for the purpose of transferring as much money as possible from your wallet in to the developers coffers. Wanna speed up the wait clock? Just buy more gems! ✓ Fun game. Bugs are not addressed in a timely mannerThe forum to submit bugs doesn't work. For more than almost 2 weeks, I can't view how the alliance is doing on stars nor can I view leaderboards. This is unacceptable. Many times the barracks start countdown at the start of seeing the map. I refuse to buy anything from you again in this game until you start caring about it. I'm getting hopeful that things are back on track but am not fully convinced yet. Last thing: it might be in your interest to rethink your pricing model. I wouldn't give my sons $20 for a game upgrade but I might give them a few dollars. I think you are missing out on income with the current pricing. Drop the price and give less value per purchase. ✓ AtrociousFieldrunners Attack is an mmo that is a blatant ripoff from Clash of Clans. The tutorial's voices try to mimic CoC mumbling, but turn out to be extremely annoying. In battles, instead of your troops automatically attacking the next building after deployment, you have to click on each individual one. If you rush your oponents HQ, instead of getting 3 stars as expected, you only get one; ludicrousy! New troop types arn't unlocked through barracks, instead from crates available in higher leagues. In the meantime, you are stuck with one generic troop type. There will be an annoying glove that keeps telling you what to do, even after you have completed the tutorial. Not to mention, this game is riddled with bugs. In conclusion, do not download. Fieldrunners will not do you justice. 1/10.Version: 3.3.165660

While it took themes from other games that wasn’t engaging take on tower defense. Spent a lot of $ and eventually got frustrated with the lack of progress without spending $. Nice to see some additional content and rewards for top end players and new environments etc. But prior to the update the economy in the game was heavily skewed towards long build times and high costs but just enough rewards from battles meant it was worth the grind but a 'tweak' to the economy in the update has now reduced the winnings for each battle making the grind just too painful. People in game say it is a known bug and logging out and back in may fix - it didn't. Have written both times to customer support with screenshot evidence and had no reply at all. This game started with promise but poor service and a serious bug has ruined it for me. Not to mention some in game purchases - which now feels like daylight robbery. ✓ OK...but not what I hoped for....I was a huge fan of Fieldrunners 1 and 2 and have played them to completion twice over, on the hardest level. I find them compelling and use them to relax. 'Fieldrunners 3' isn't really a Fieldrunners game and just uses the IP to get some cute graphics for another Clash of the Clans clone (see what I did there). However as Clash of the Clans clones go it's a pretty good one, and as new troops become available, their is a certain amount of thinking and strategy involved. I've spent a bit of cash (£4... the amount I would have paid to download the game), and performance seems OK. I'm hitting Level 8 now though and can see it's all about to SSSLLLLOOOOOWWWW right down without spending large sums of cash, as upgrades to units suddenly jump disproportionally high. It's OK, I've played it out of brand loyalty as much as anything, but wish it had been a real Fieldrunner game..Version: 3.3.165661
✓ MehPlayed for a bit over a week. There are some bugs, such as granaries not producing or sawmills not producing (even after long periods). Tons of waiting for stuff. Also some exploits or means of battle that are just kinda not fun, such as placing buildings next to an environment crystal on one map only that blocks everyone from shooting it. If however, like me you have thoroughly enjoyed the Tower building, maze making mayhem of the original two games then this bears no resemblance whatsoever. For a start you control the Fieldrunners and not the Towers. Then there are no mazes to build as you don't control the Towers. ✓ Nice graphic but so slow...I always enjoyed your tower defence cousin. The graphic of this game is really nice, enjoyed it. However the loading speed is soooooo slow, often take longer than one minute to load. Finding matching player Ti attack is also quite slow. I loved the OG Field Runners games, they were super fun and you got what (if not more) than you paid for. ✓ Great game with a lot of server issuesI've been able to play a decent amount of time, in between decent connections to their servers. It's a great game so far. Very nice graphics and art direction, gameplay is also straightforward and fun. It's nice to finally have an online strategy game that enables me more control of my soldiers as opposed to AI units. But, as you've probably read from many other reviews, there are a lot of connection issues. Servers seem to always be down and constantly tells me my connection is weak, even on fast WIFI.
