✓ Nice game, would like an extra optionThis game is great! The only thing I wish could be added was the ability to call your partner instead of being forced to use the partner across the table. Sometimes you want the rook to be your partner or maybe the Green 1 makes your hand complete. Calling your partner would make it more interesting. Otherwise this is really fun!.Version: 1.7.7
✓ Great approximation of a great card gameThe ability to make adjustments to the rules means that it feels like playing at grandma’s house. ✓ Love it, love it, love it!!!Blackbird is awesome! I have to thank my nephew for introducing the app to me when it first came out. But most of all, I thank the genius that created it. I was skeptical at first, thinking there's no way it could come close to a Rook game. Boy, was I taken back. It's right on it. I grew up playing Rook with family and we were serious players. I mean really competitive. You hooked-on-Rook addicts know what I mean. Anywho, now it's hard to find people who know how to play. Blackbird rescued me. ✓ Features to addI suggest definitely including whether trump should be high or low. Low meaning that now 1,2,3,4,5 are the best cards and 14,13,12 are the word cards. So when trump is called it would be like, for example, low red. If you have the red 1,2,3,4,5. Otherwise it’s perfect!.Version: 1.7.7

✓ Blackbird suggestionsGood game but the cards thrown out by your partner and the ones in the lead going first are not correct. My partner always throws out trump cards early when they shouldn’t. Why would the non bidding team lead out with the opponents trump color? Also, my partner always throws out a 1 when leading first even when the other teams makes the bid and color. You NEVER throw out a 1 unless you know if the bidder even has that particular color. Throwing out a 1 when leading almost always loses in this scenario. Erik.Version: 1.7.7
✓ Pretty goodI'm getting my Rook fix for sure. Fun to try the different rule settings...not liking that I can't call my partner, but it's a cool challenge. ✓ Good GameI enjoy the game. Rules can be modified to be very similar to the rules that I play by. A couple of things that I wish could be added. 1. The option to call a new deal. 2. ✓ Frustrating game!The computerized player/partners are just plain bad. As a general rule most of their actions are ok. But the prime job of an opponent that has the bid is to set them. They don't put points on the hands that will set their opponents. It's very frustrating. I have seen them NOT put points on a hand when I play the boss that would have set the other team... ✓ ImprovementsI'd like to see at least one card from the middle when bidding. When you're playing single player mode the partner you are given is absolutely awful, and your partner and opponents make terrible decisions when it comes to what to keep and what to throw away. Trumps are played at inopportune times. Would like it if AI could call “TRAM” (the rest are mine) if they’re going to win the remaining hands. I hate having to play out each hand when it’s obvious the AI will take the remaining hands..Version: 1.7.6

✓ Works well. Good app.We always played with a rule that whoever won the bid called for their partner ie: "Yellow is trump, yellow 13 is my partner." Each person had an individual score and you never knew who your partner was until the called card was played. It added an interesting dimension to the game and it would be fun to see this as an optional rule..Version: 1.7.5
✓ Fun Game. Needs work.My family plays Rook quite a bit. This is a great way to practice! The customizable rules and game play speed are awesome. The only thing I don’t like is that the computer team you’re playing against seems to know when they will win a book. Let’s say I lead with a red 6, computer 1 lays a green 14, my parter plays a red 11, and computer 2 plays a red 13 and they win. No one one ever lay a green 14 in that situation. Even if they are an expert at counting cards, they would not know their partner had the winning card before it was played. This is my only frustration with this game..Version: 1.7.7
✓ Good could be greatI love Rook and this game helps keep my skills sharp but why is my partner an idiot. My partner plays like a crazy person. When you’re fishing for trumps he won’t throw the Rook or the 1 in trumps if I win the bid. I can understand the opponent doing that but not my partner. It’s like it’s set up to screw me over. Fix the partner issue and maybe let me get a hand or two that is decent instead of a crap hand every single time and it will be a awesome game. Most times I bid / play like I have no partner because partner sure does not help. ✓ Really a lot of fun but needs workFirst of course is multiplayer but until that is worked out needs to be customizable. Lots of variations on this game. My family in NC don’t even play with the Rook card. We always considered that adding too much luck. Instead whoever takes the last trick gets 20points and also the cards in the kitty. Also, playing to 300 is too short. Need to play to 500. We play “shoot the moon” for 240points plus a last gasp blind “shoot the moon” for 480. Still right now this is a lot of fun, but frankly Zeus is not a very good partner. He doesn’t live by our motto “you can’t them to the bank”.Version: 1.7.7

✓ Just a few more enhancements needed...This is a great app but the level of excitement could be raised with the following options: (1) being able to choose your partner's level of aggressiveness. "Conservative" would eliminate complaints that your partner overbids you, the more aggressive settings would not let the bid go to the opponents for under 125 points & THROW POINTS when it's obvious you might take the trick; (2) allow your partner to call trumps when you take the bid and have an equal number of cards in each color. The penalty is that the bid is automatically raised by 5 points; (3) allow the option to "Shoot the Moon" and win the game if you play a perfect hand (perfect being defined as either taking every point, or to make it even more difficult, taking every trick). The last two options are popular in East Tennessee where I grew up playing Rook. Thanks again for developing this app!.Version: 1.7.5

✓ Fun to play but big issuesI love Rook so this is definitely a fun app to play. Thanks for creating it. HOWEVER, there are major issues with game play that will have you pulling your hair out, namely: YOUR PARTNER WILL NEVER PLAY THE BIRD OR THE 1 SO YOU CAN STOP FISHING FOR THEM. They’ll throw away a 14 to an opponent’s 1 rather than throw the bird. INFURIATING I’m not sure how dealing works, but I go through long stretches where opponents are dealt the bird and high cards in every color. Your opponents will frequently have complementary hands and will frequently point each other. Your partner will sometimes have a complementary hand to yours and may point you, but it’s much less frequent. Your partner cannot be trusted to bid smartly and will frequently get y’all set. It’s VERY RARE that opponents behave the same way. It’s also a fairly accurate indication of who has the bird since I don’t think I’ve ever seen opponents bid above 125 without it. This could all be because I love the game so much and hate losing, but I wish the dealing seemed a little less stacked and my partner played a little more strategically. That being said, thanks for creating this game that I spend WAY too much time playing..Version: 1.7.7

✓ Great gameIf you like the game of Rook you will love this game! You can set the rules to rook game rules. My biggest and really only complaint is your playing computers and your partner will hold the rook card and cause you to have to waste trump cards and allow opponents to get unnecessary points before playing it. Also, the rook is supposed to be a trump card only! And should not be allowed to be thrown whenever! Only when you don’t have a color and are trumping and whenever trumps lead out. In this game the computer players throw the rook to pull cards when they have the color that was played and therefore should not be able to trump the cards..Version: 1.7.7

✓ I like the app but...After having my partner make yet another stupefying move... I had to complain. The partner is waaaaay more conservative Than the opponents, and when the partner does win the bid, all to often they do something ridiculous like not holding a trump card with which to win the nest at the end. This wouldn’t be so bad if the computer opponents did it as well... they don’t, and I’m left with a partner that I used to completely ignore because it was pretty much usless. The partner should at least be as aggressive and as competent as the opponents because currently, it doesn’t hold a candle to the opponents... ✓ ThanksOverall works fine couple of suggestions 1. If partner has 11-14, the will play Rook and loose those points vs playing the 11-14 and thus then making the Rook the high trump at 10.5 2. Speaking of which. If you quit game that has started. When staring game back, the trump 10 catches the 10.5 Rook this you instantly loose 30 points. Overall pretty decent game. ✓ Not Perfect...Opposing Partners know what cards each has... it is hard to beat stacked cards but still fun when you can... It makes winning better... Need to be able to make the ROOK worth 10 Points... It is an easier advantage to the winning bidder when the ROOK is 20 points... I have played ROOK for 65 years and am now 76 YOA... ALWAYS made The ROOK worth 10 Points so that the Winning Bidder does not have a one sided Advantage... Still giving 5 Stars because it is closer to playing Real ROOK than Hearts or Spades where the Cards are Stacked even worse.... ✓ Good gameThis game is lots of fun and good practice for playing with your friends. It is a well made app as well. I would like to see an option to pick your partner though. One critique I have is with the bidding process. If you raise the minimum bid the computer players rarely bid. And if nobody bids the last person (dealer) automatically wins. There have been many times where I have ended up "winning" the nest with a hand I would have never bid with. That said, I still play all the time..Version: 1.6.3
