✓ DéceptionCe jeu que je connais depuis 40 ans est décevant sous cette forme: on est obligé de couper notre partenaire même si ce ne serait pas nécessaire. On devrait avoir la possibilité de jouer la carte qu’on veut, en respectant les règles du jeu bien entendu. ✓ Fix the partner it's frustratingLike most of the other reviews the only drawback is your partner.....doesn't follow suit when you know your opponent is holding that as the their off color and just scored points. Doesn't throw points when it should know you hold the prevailing trump. Holds onto high cards I.e. The rook when you are obviously searching for it. The rules feature is great to customize. So there is that. Overall very frustrating..Version: 1.7.5

✓ Need workOpposition knows what each other has. Your partner hardly takes a bid even on aggressive mode. Seems like it is you against 3. Cards hardly seem random on deal or kitty. Been playing rook for over 30 years, this would be a great game with some work. I have emailed maker several times but he does not seem interested in input. Do not waist your time. Worst card game on the net. I love rook, but deleted this game because is is bad..Version: 1.7.7
✓ Poor execution of a classic gameI have played Rook since I was a kid in our family and this app has SO much potential to fill that void but falls shamefully short. After keeping my own stats on the dealing, it is clearly biased. One would think that a randomized dealer would be something incredibly simple to code. I have data to back that up. Secondly, the AI opponents clearly know each others hands and will blatantly and blindly play into each other. I don’t mind this as much as the dealer as it’s coding would be a bit more complex. But for the love of all that is good and holy, FIX THE DEALER!!!! Good grief. Opponents always have the 1s, and the human player always has 40-70% of the counters. And the partner AI to the human player will have a hand suitable to take the bid MAYBE 1 in 25+ hands. And when he does take the bid he’ll get set easily over 50% of the time. Playing with classic rook rules. A few dollars only but definitely well spent..Version: 1.7.7

✓ Okay gameThis is a family favorite game. Multiplayer would make it excellent. Used to have it i thotgame this is a very good imitation. I had to do the rule change to the version my family plays. This will get 5 stars when it goes multiplayer!! ****Update: still a great game but one rule option would be a great add. The option to not be able to discard points to the nest****good game but was better when it allowed multiplayer. What’s worst is it still forces Game Center log in but no multiplayer access..Version: 1.7.7
✓ Need an option to rotate screenThe game is great and the options allow you to play rook with the red one, which is about the only variation we play in the south. Love the game. The screen is different than most card apps and it can be frustrating. I would rate it 5 stars and pay double just to have the option of rotating the screen and not seeing opponent cards upside down..Version: 1.7.7

✓ ...Solid rendition of the classic Rook game with tons of rule customization options. The UI is fairly clean (if a touch cramped on a phone screen). Unfortunately the AI struggles with certain common sense plays. Your partner understands feeding you points during the trump bleeding stage, but seems to lose track off trump during the late stages—especially if the other team made trump—and won’t feed you high cards before the other team’s last trump cards kick in. For example, there are two trump cards left with three turns to go. East leads, I play the highest card. North, my partner, doesn’t have suit and plays last—they know I’m taking the trick and I know this is the last trick we can take. They throw out a non-point card, then I see them having to play ones and 14s on the opponent’s trumps. While this type of situation is the most egregious and happens pretty regularly, there are other little quirks to their play that suggests the AI lacks any sort of complex strategy. So this is fine for casual time wasting here and there, and may be as good as we can get absent an official Rook app, but it can definitely be frustrating..Version: 1.7.7

✓ Good game, tweak options have flawsThis is a very good adaptation of the Kentucky Discard game. The visuals are sharp, the game moves along quickly. But I do have a question regarding the theme options. It appears I should be able to change card backs and backgrounds. But none of these work on my iPad. There’s a restore purchase tab, that doesn’t work either and I have a message that says Failed to load products. Why do none of the themes work? You’re rating would be higher if they did as this seems a clear error. Can you update this so we can fiddle with card backs and themes?.Version: 1.7.7

✓ Decent app, horrendous AIThe app itself is solid and has good options for gameplay, but the terrible AI just takes the joy out of it. I win over 80% of the time in spite of the fact that my partner has no idea when to do basic things (like stay in a bid, bid over me, throw points, etc.). Some of this is human and can’t be programmed, but a lot of it is pretty straightforward and should have been implemented into the AI..Version: 1.7.5
✓ I love playing rookNo one in TX even knows what I'm talking about when I speak about Rook. All my family loves playing it back in Kentucky. Love it, but if a mistake is made in making trump or an accident in discard to the nest, there is no way to reverse either one of these actions. ✓ Missing one huge component!This app is so close to the real game of Rook. It includes so many common house rules and makes it very customizable. However, the one rule we play with at my house that is not available is the ability to "call your partner" instead of having set partners. This consist of choosing a card and whomever holds that card becomes your partner for the remainder of the round. It makes bids higher and allows for a little bit more skill to get involved. I'd love love love to see this feature added. Then it would be worth 5 stars!.Version: 1.7.5

✓ Brought tears of joy to my eyes!UPDATED: bought the app to play with friends and the multiplayer has been gone for what seems like forever. Once multiplayer is back it will be a 5 star app again. I have been waiting on this app for a long time. Love it! Simple and easy to set up! I love Rook! ✓ Love it but could use improvementLove the game, the only things I would like to see is 1. Faster card play speed especially when player computer players 2. You cannot see the bid on the other team it is covered by the cards. 3. Why does the computer have to pull all your trump out all the time? ✓ Statistics?This App keeps track of statistics! Right. Think of the stupidest card player you know. Well, that person is a genius compared to the halfwit you will encounter as your AI partner. One would imagine that training the AI players would be fairly general. Not so. The AI you play against are fairly knowledgeable, with the proviso that when the AI takes the bid it has virtually 80% of all value cards. You're AI partner will actually throw away high value cards even when it has worthless cards available of the same suit. So I have had 9 straight loses according to the "statistics." That will show you how many games I have quit after one miserable hand. Enjoy..Version: 1.7.5
✓ You better like losing!!!I love this game, but I gave it one star because I like so many others get so frustrated because the game is completely stacked against you. Rarely do you ever get good hands whereas the opponents get them almost every hand. Second, your team mate bids like a complete idiot betting the moon with only the rook and no 1 or 14 in trump. No real player is going to bet that high with that hand. Third, you better like losing because you will nearly every hand. If there is a hand where the opponent over bids, their partner will be able to cover them almost every time which completely unrealistic. Also, you know you're playing a computer because they play hands a way a normal person could not possibly know. For instance, your opponent will win the bid and the very first trick they play of the hand they don't throw trump, but it just so happens to be the only color their partner doesn't have and can trump you. That is impossible to know in real life. Developers please start reading these reviews and fix the game. It isn't like only one comment, almost every review has the same complaint..Version: 1.7.7

✓ Normally 5 stars.The new updates causes the multiplayer to be very glitchy and slow. The response time is very tedious. My wife and I often have to exit out of the game and come back in to progress the game. Single player mode is fantastic!.Version: 1.6.2
✓ Ceased to be funI grew up playing Rook and was so excited when I found this app. The look and feel are exactly like I remember. However, although I consider myself a good sport, after several weeks of being dealt hand after hand after hand after hand of only low cards, I grew weary of the game. ✓ DecentIt’s a fun game, but the algorithms are wrong. Your partner won’t throw points even if you play the blackbird card and are obviously taking the trick. Also, if the opponents get the bid it’s a sure thing that they will have all the strong cards of whatever suit is chosen. (Akin to table talk). It gets very frustrating when you get a mix of low numbers and trash cards and can never turn a trick let alone win the game..Version: 1.7.7
