No live content!Our family travels a great deal so we must utilize apps from our favorite networks to access the content from our subscription cable provider. This works great for most networks as they provide live feeds of their current content. Unfortunately A&E foolishly decided to omit this feature and post content weeks after the original air date. This is absolutely absurd since A&Es staple series is Live PD (the original reason for which we downloaded the app). No one wants to wait days to watch a show that’s entirely structured around the premise and novelty of being aired live. I’m not sure if this poor implementation is just an innocent oversight or a product of incompetent management, but it would be wise ( and extremely easy) for the network to implement live viewing of their flagship programs for their patrons to enjoy..Version: 3.9.11

App Constantly Freezes Since 2020Obviously this app hasn’t been fixed since the last time I used this app in early 2020. It’s now mid 2021 and the app still freezes when ads are playing. I’ve deleted this app, restored my iphone to factory settings and still only this app does it freezes when trying to watch a program. I’ve used my wifi, my cellular data and even several other places with better bandwidth and still ads always freezes. This last time I had one ad freeze for almost 15 minutes and still had to wait for the next 2 ads to play all while the ads are frozen. By the time I finished watching a 22 minute tv program on this app it took over an hour and a half. Not a happy camper and no it’s not my internet. I will not recommend this app to my friends and family and just tell them that their better off watching their favorite programs on cable..Version: 4.1.8

50% of shows are full of adsI’ve never felt like a company cared so little about actually creating a good used experience and more about destroying every possible reason the world went digital to begin with — so we didn’t have to waste half of our friggin time watching ads!! Just watched walking dead and literally every 5 mins there was 5 mins of 5 ads back to back. Probably the worst app I’ve ever used in my life and displays a desperate attempt to milk advertisers for money. If I wanted to watch ads I would have kept my direct TV!!!! One change would earn 5 starsI absolutely love the shows, I’m constantly streaming one or another in the background of my daily life. However... the commercials are every 3-4 minutes AND some commercial breaks are filled with one commercial playing 6-7 times in a row. Every couple of weeks the commercial selection changes but there’s still one or two ads that play repeatedly. I have sworn off Dairy Queen (the Spanish commercial is my kryptonite), the cat food “the first lickable treat” 😖 Also, you can’t watch a show for a good week after it’s aired on TV and that’s poppycock..Version: 3.9.15

For the most part it’s a good appThis is a decent app but definitely not the best. We travel a lot so we mostly watch our tv shows and movies on apps through our phones and iPad but A&E is the only one we run into the problem of having to wait an entire week or until the next episode airs, to be able to watch our show. We LOVE Live PD but here it is May 4th and we were just now able to watch the episode from April 26th. Most apps you can watch after midnight or even as its airing especially when you can log in with your service provider which we have but on this A&E app even with a logging in with a service provider you still can’t watch for an entire week. We love to discuss our shows with friends and family so it would be nice to be able to do it with our A&E shows too. By a weeks time, everyone is done discussing the previous weeks episode especially with Live PD since it is aired every single Friday and Saturday. Especially with social media these days, we would love to not have to stay off of ours just to avoid spoilers. Come on A&E please get it together and provide your viewers with at least the same experiences that all other networks have..Version: 3.9.8

AngeringI love the first 48. I watch it almost every day. I pay for cable but am unable to watch it on my tv providers app because A&E removed it from them and makes you pay for their service. That’s fine if they want to charge people extra to watch shows they already are paying to watch it’s cool. What’s not cool is playing 5 minutes of advertisements every 10 minutes. The SAME ADS play every time. A&E is directly responsible for why I will not ever shop at Denver mattress. After seeing the same Denver mattress commercials over 200 times I’m left with a choice. Stop using the app and illegally watch the first 48 or pay extra money for no ads. This is how you loose business. Also bring back live pd. Shows are great, app is terribleThere are a lot of tv & movie apps out there. All of them seemed to be able to figure out how to minimize the screen so you can watch the shows & do other things on your device without closing the app. In all my time using the app, A & E has not figured this out. If I want to watch & do other things on my iPad like set a timer or look up something on the internet, I will use A & E’s website because it will minimize...most of the time. Because the website is actually much more glitchy than the app. The website will usually get stuck on an ad or be really tough to resume play at the point you left off, & sometimes the subtitles disappear. But the biggest issue - the ads. Ugh. Everyone is complaining about how many of them there are & how repetitive. True, but we’re marketed to every waking hour in the modern world & you learn to ignore ads or to mute them. My biggest complaint is HOW LOUD they are. I have to quickly throw the volume down on my iPad because I might lose even more hearing than I’ve already lost (I’m hearing impaired). Some ads are merely loud, most are deafening. If hearing impaired people are complaining about how loud your ads are, they’re too loud. I’m absolutely never going to buy whatever you’re selling because the sight of the product now fills me with rage as I remember who loud & annoying the ad was..Version: 3.8.6

You will be riddled with AdsIf we are logging in with our cable provider, that we pay for, why force ads? I understand the need for them, it’s to pay you more money than already receiving to run the apps themselves. I appreciate the option to select a 30 second interactive ad rather than a 3min one, but what good does that do when it freezes afterwards, making me close and reopen the app, only to be dealt with this interactive ad again? This has repeated for 20min now, I downloaded the app an hour ago. I SERIOUSLY JUST WATCHED THE SAME AD PLAY 5 TIMES IN A ROW!!Honestly I got this app to catch up on Born this way after recently discovering the show. The only things are when you select an episode it starts like 3/4s of the way in and the ad time is ridiculous considering it's the same ads played over and over and over (etc.) again. It gets to the point where you don't want to use the app to watch on account of the same ads being repeated and you start to get annoyed with seeing the same commercial. Please fix the adsThe ads are easily the biggest problem within the app. I can deal with having to watch ads upfront or at various times throughout the program - that's not the issue. What's problematic is if I try and rewind to what was said right as the program comes back from an ad break, I suddenly have to sit through another three minutes of the same ads I just watched. The viewer shouldn't have to sit through an ad break if they've already watched it once. Secondarily, there is no consistent audio level for the ads, so you wind up with blown-out eardrums and peeved neighbors. If those two issues were fixed, the app would be great..Version: 3.4.2

Glitchy and adsAt times the show I watch, when I start a new episode, it begins sometimes halfway during the episode and I have to rewind and it goes thru the ads instead of back to the episode. And the ads, my goodness, if you watched the show in its normal setting on A&E, it would be shorter watching on A&E because of the ads. 30 mins on A&E but on this app, it feels like 40 plus minutes just to finish one episode of a half hour. Too many ads. I missed the period where it gave you the option of watching a 3 minute ad or 30 second. Of course I would choose 30 seconds and get back to the episode. Plus if you have to force ads, how about mixing the ads up and showing different ads and not taking so much time. Or just no ads. You have ppl downloading the app, don't force ads on them when they are trying to watch their shows. Whether it is at work on lunch break or catching up on an episode they missed, or binge watching. Constant technical issuesGreat show but…first night I had a terrible time getting the series to start. Would press play and the app would close entirely. This happened repeatedly. Second night, second episode- again trouble getting the episode to start. Would get the show started and question would pop up will you watch one 30 second ad or would you prefer 2 minutes of ads? Chose 30 second ad, watched the ad, returned to show, pressed play, same ad screen would pop up again. Cycled through this multiple times after watching the ad or simply letting the 30 seconds pass- and eventually it would get back to show. Took forever to finish watching the show due to the ad screen cycling back- same ad- seemingly stuck. Would not chose to watch anything on A&E again.Version: 6.8.0

Great show ruined by A&ELive pd could be a great show. One of my favorites but Dan makes it really annoying with his uneducated opinions. I really wish he would stop talking, or get replaced by someone who actually knows criminal law a little bit. Or at least shut up and let us watch. Also his jokes making fun of people that may or may not have committed a crime are not funny. We only see what they want us to see and some of that is brutal by police and its normal to them. They know they are being filmed but still use very excessive force because they are so used to being that way they think it’s normal and ok. Heart breaking!!!!! I see a lot of racism as well. If your black walking,driving, riding a bike, whatever your getting roughed up and searched no matter what. They only show the 5% that actually do ave marijuana or something on them..Version: 3.8.6

Ads Ads AdsLike really, u already have a channel you get paid advertisement through but I can’t even enjoy a episode with being flooded and overwhelmed with ADS. Good grief, I can’t even fast forward or rewind without ad interruptions. This is utter ridiculousness, the content is great but the way you shove ads into my face is why I don’t use the app. It’s very disappointing that your primary mission is not allowing people to enjoy as much content they can get but making sure you get paid for ads. Maybe you should just remove the petty content all together and just be A&E and change the motto from Arts and Entertainment to Ads and Excuses. NiceVery good app! Well worth the download. I'm able to catch up on A&E programs that I miss. No excess of ads like other apps. One, maybe, two ads at most before it returns you to your program. But one drawback is, if you don't have a cable or satellite provider, you won't be able to watch the programs on this app because you have to put in your provider's name and your account info (your name/screen name/id and your password from your provider account). But otherwise, great app! EDIT: A&E no longer puts the Live PD episodes or other Live PD associated programs on their website. I’m not able to watch some of that programming live and like to catch up later in the app, but no such luck anymore. It used to be a 5 star rating but I have now downgraded it to 1 star. I am very disappointed now. I used to love the app but not anymore..Version: 3.9.9

Excessive & repeating adsNot against ads. I understand why there are ads. But the ad breaks are extremely excessive and long. Also ads repeat themselves. So you see the same Academy ad 3 times, followed by more ads. Then 5 minutes after some of the show, the ad break saga repeats itself. It’s almost like you are being punished for watching a show on the app. Then the interactive ad option is always horrendous. On other networks they will sometimes give you the option to watch a longer commercial stint at the beginning to have fewer ads during the show, which is much more desirable compared to this nonsense. Too many glitches and God awful advertisements and commercials!!!It doesn’t matter when I use this app to watch shows, it ALWAYS freeze up and the glitches are overwhelmingly obvious. This is double jeopardy! Greedy,controlling,money hungry!The limited choices of free episodes of anything are destroyed by poor quality annoying repetitive commercials! Some of them are so loud you can’t hear other people in the same room with you!!! Great but could be much better!Constantly having to resign into cable subscription to unlock episodes is annoying. The profile and sign in features seemed disassociated when they would function much better together. Also being able to go to the title(episodes/info) of a show from the continue watching or featured instead of having to enter the episode sort of blind of having to go back and search for it, minor but an improvement potentially. Finally, personalized recommendations? Understandably the network focuses on generally the same type of content, but certain more similar shows (ie you watched live PD maybe you’ll like court cam) Worst of all is when you’re moving in Tor the next episode and the app says you’re logged in but the episode will never actually load because you’re not actually signed in and have to reset the app. Please fix :).Version: 5.1.4

AdsApp glitches out almost every single time an ad comes on and freezes the show on a pause screen to where you can even exit out of the show. You have to exit and close the app and reopen it only to have to watch another ad just to continue on with the show. There’s ads every 5-10 minutes in one 40-45 minute episode. Worst app I have ever usedThis is the WORST app I have ever used. The ads never work right, if u choose to do a 30 second interactive ad it freezes 75% of the time so u have to close the app completely and start over. So u then have to watch even more ads. Then that will freeze most of the time as well. It’s a vicious cycle. Also, the way they number the episodes is confusing. Example being 60 days in. Some are listed as ep 1, ep 2, but then they throw in ep 83, ep 84. And the tell all seems like it just ended halfway through the show. This channel is way too big to have such an awful app. Someone needs training or fired. These shows and the viewers deserve better. CRITICAL DEFECT: Video Won’t Resume; Plays Infinite AdsI just tried this app on a single video and it literally cannot be watched. The video stopped at a certain point and threw me out to the ads and then got stuck playing ads, one after the other. I lost count, but it went on so long as I tried to restart the video that I was seeing the same ads multiple times. The video would not resume, no matter if I let the ads run in full or closed them using the big X in the upper left corner. The X just started the next ad. Letting an ad run until it ended also start d the next ad. I could force the app to the splash page, but on Play the video just kicked me back out to the ads again. Logging on and off did not help. It feels like they hard-coded a Kick-out frame where they throw you out to the ads, but failed to implement a counter to limit the number of ads they forced you to watch, and then also failed to advance the video beyond the Kick-out frame so it could resume. When the video tries to resume, it starts on the Kick-out frame and kicks you back out on an infinite loop. But what do I know other than to advise users not to bother with this app. The same video won’t play in a browser on my phone or tablet, but with different symptoms altogether..Version: 3.8.2

Worst App Ever.This is one of the worst apps I have ever used. Not only are there seemingly endless ads, but the ads themselves are glitchy. Multiple times I have tried to skip the ad when it allowed me, only to restart the entire ad all over again. And when I do get to my show, the audio doesn’t match up with the video. I have had to exit an episode multiple times and restart to try and fix it, but the problem has continued on each episode I’ve viewed. The only reason why I use this is because I can’t watch though any other app. I will be deleting this app as soon as I’m done with my show. Clunky - Commercials way longer than showI have the app to watch past shows that arent available on my cable provider on demand (strange I know). The app itself will freeze and the sound and video will go out of whack. The commercials? Ouch. Worse than watching live tv. I use this on a few devices and watching it on my appletv is horrendous. The “interactive” commercial gives you a 30 second commercial and has you swipe then hit play. The caveat is if you hit the wrong button you have to watch the boring commercial again. Im sure you are trying to be innovative but its an epic failure. Opinion of A & E has sufferedGot this app for one show (series). The kindest conclusion I can draw is tha A&E doesn’t know how the app behaves. Program interval between ads ranges between 2 min 30 sec and 14 min 30 sec, most being under 10 min. If you choose the 30 sec interactive ad the interval is usually 4 min 30 sec to 7 min. During one 2 hour session 2 ads repeated 15 times between them. Today one ad with serious dynamic range problem (way too loud) repeated 5 times in one ad session. Otherwise it is clunky, does not quickly respond to commands and doesn’t accurately record/remember where a program left off. I’m still using it to watch the one show but when it’s done I will not be browsing..Version: 3.8.9

AddsI installed A&E because there’s a couple shows there that aren’t on other streaming platforms but something that has turned VERY annoying are definitely the adds. I sometimes get 8 adds (and not total) and each other is like 30 seconds I even had an add once where it was a whole minute. There are also times where you get the option between a 30 second interactive add and normal adds which can add up to 3 MINUTES, so I do the rational thing and click on the 30 second interactive add, once the add is done it doesn’t immediately go back to what you were watching it makes you watch the normal adds too. Now I wouldn’t really mind if it happened a couple times but it happens EVERY TIME I go on this app. Also after the adds the show you’re watching turns blurry to the point I’ve had to close the tab and go back in again. Overall I honestly wouldn’t recommend the app to anyone and if there was another place to watch the shows I would definitely go and switch apps..Version: 6.5.0

Ads will drive you insaneThis app was great at first. I could stream all the shows I normally watch with my cable provider and very easily. However, after a week, the app went from ad free - to an ad literally, every two minutes for an hour long show - and it was the exact same ad for the U.S. Army every single time - every single day. I don’t even live in the States … I live in Canada. I’ve decided to delete the app. Having to spend a third of my viewing time watching the same ad over and over is a waste of my time. Love the shows, hate the glitchy app!I recently started using this app on Apple TV for the first time in over a year and at LEAST three times per episode I have to exit and resume playing because the audio glitches and becomes ridiculously far off from the video. Sometimes after a commercial break, I realize it skipped a whole chunk of the show and started after the next commercial break. Lastly, it won’t auto play the next episode. It will either just go to a black screen and act like it’s going to load, or it takes me all the way back to the Apple TV Home Screen. I should note I have used the app at 3 different households on different Apple TV devices and the result is the same. It is not an issue of internet speed, especially since the many other apps I use don’t work this way, except for the Lifetime app which has the same parent company as A&E with the same app structure..Version: 5.1.3

Sync issuesThe most annoying and frustrating experience I am really disappointed it constantly goes out of sync. Don’t do something if you won’t do it all the way proper with quality. It’s like a tractor with no wheels. Terrible experience. The worst part is you have had sync issues for almost 7 years and nothing has been done to resolve this. You are the only app that has this issue on this digital planet. Incredibly frustratingThe commercials are constant and not curated: I’m currently trying to watch a show and it played the same ad four times in a row (so four out of the five ads it played consecutively were identical, and those five were part of a total of THIRTEEN ads I had to sit through to watch a single episode). On top of which, it’s crashed 3 times during that single episode. Seemingly after every commercial break it freezes and then closes the app. And finally (this is a really irritating experience so I want to cover it all), it freezes to buffer approximately every five minutes. At times it doesn’t restart and I have to close and reopen the app. Looking through these reviews I see a lot of people experiencing the same issues, on top of several other problems that sound similarly absurd. I refuse to believe that a major cable network can’t create and maintain a working app. I have an ultra high speed internet connection and all my other streaming apps are working just fine. Casting errorI’ve been unable to cast for a couple of months now. I’ve contacted A&E support, had a few responses and now crickets. Hopefully they fix it soon. Update…. They’ve responded but have zero accountability on their end. It has to be my device that I’m casting from that’s the issue and not the app itself. It’s clear that I’m not the only one having this issue. Disappointing that they still haven’t come up with a resolution..Version: 5.5.6

GlitchesThree things that are a problem. One, when you have the opportunity to watch the 30 second interactive ad, half the time it just goes to black screen and nothing happens.I have to close out the app and go back in to even get it started again. So that doesn’t work. Two, every time I go back to the app I have to go into the app, search for my show scroll down to the season I’m watching and then find the episode. I looks like you can just hit play and it’ll start where you left off it doesn’t. It’s so clunky. It is not user-friendly, and it doesn’t remember where you are. Three, It says it remembers where you left off in the show if you sign in, but it doesn't. I also don’t understand why it can’t keep playing if I switch over to send a text or some thing. Other apps I have continue to play on a smaller screen but this one? Nope. You have to close it out and start all over it’s really annoying..Version: 5.1.2

Major general UI updates neededThis is across the board from the IOS app to the TVOS app. Examples include basics like: -ability to save a favourite program -ability to view all favourites -ability to resume -ability to add to “Up Next” in Apple TV These are a few examples that would be useful and appropriated. App won’t work on Smart TVI was super happy that I could finally ditch the HDMI and laptop set up once I purchased my first smart tv. The app worked on the tv for a week and then all of a sudden the app was nowhere to be found on the tv, can’t even search it up in the App Store. So disappointing as I absolutely loved A&E..Version: 5.5.3

Doesn’t work with chrome castEndless buffering when casting to chrome cast I cannot watch anything on it it just loads and loads and loads and loads Only able to stream on my small 6 inch phone screen not impressed.Version: 5.4.1

Aggravating and Not User FriendlyI typically don’t review apps and they have the content I want so I put up with it. However it keeps asking me to sign in when I am already, after one or two episodes it goes black and stops responding I have to shut off the device and turn it back on to get the app to respond. Also it lists the shows in a season from the last episode of that season so you have to scroll to get to the first episode, it won’t play certain episodes for some reason, it doesn’t keep you at the episode your at so you have to search for your spot again. Oh and it gets pixelated on almost every show so you have to pause and replay so it has a chance to catch up. Who ever designed it did not do it with easy viewing access. And the only reason I put up with it is because their on demand does not have the shows I want to watch so I can’t just do it from my cable box..Version: 3.9.10

Love This App!… But..I have a lot of streaming services. And let me tell y’all I love this app. But I hate the fact that every time I close the app the episode in which I was watching is not on my continue watching… drives me nuts. I have to then go back and find the show then find the season then find my episode. Also why is it that every time I try to stream from my phone to my tv it always starts the episode all over again. It won’t just start from where I was. Please guys fix these bugs because they are killing the convenience of your app. All in all love the app great shows on here. Commercial problems on ChromecastI do not have an issue with commercials or the amount of commercials because I understand that is part of television viewing but my problem arises from commercial breaks. On this app (and the lifetime one, wonder if it’s the same developers) the last minute before the commercial played the shows video but the audio for the commercial and then after the commercial it buffers and sometimes does not resume the video. I still use the app bc I like the shows but it is not the most pleasant viewing experience. This happens when I stream to my chromecast. I don’t know if it happens only on my phone because I do not watch shows on my iPhone. I’ve used the app on and off for probably a year and it always happens..Version: 4.0.5

Apple TV audio doesn’t workAudio skips and is out of sync on Apple TV. No casting possible from tablet or phone to tv. Basically only usable on tablet or phone. Disappointed.Version: 5.1.1

Overall okOne complaint why do I get notifications saying there’s a new Live PD to be watched(via the app) to only have last weeks there? My app is up to date. It used to be Friday’s episode up on Saturday and Saturday’s episode up on Sunday. Like tonight we should have Friday’s episode up to view, but latest one is 4/21. So why are we missing out on episodes? This problem only started happening that I can recall this season. Not everyone can make it home in time to watch, that’s why we or at least I have the app, to make it easier to watch our favorite show(s)! I don’t watch anything else on the here. So glitchyI really do enjoy the shows A&E has on the app, but i wish they would fix how the ads/commercials bug out. i am fine watching a few ads throughout an episode, but i have to close out the app & reopen it because the ads won't play 50% of the time. & when i do reopen the app, the episode i was watching skips backwards all the way to the beginning, as if the app can't remember where i just left off in the episode. so the ads i just watched, i am forced to watch them again, only to have them glitch out again and again & the process repeats WAY too often. please please please fix the ads..Version: 6.4.0

Too many commercialsIn the in the day and age of paying a monthly subscription fee to avoid having to watch commercials this app is woefully outdated and behind. The channel is as well. Every 2 to 3 minutes if you were is forced to watch a minimum of 30 seconds worth of commercials which every 2 to 3 minutes is annoying. Sometimes the app will lock up and say that “the advertiser has reached their limit for the day“ so then of course you’re forced to watch four minutes worth of commercials back to back to get back to the program. It’s ridiculous. Offer a monthly subscription rate. Or at least give people that option. Fix the glitches with the commercials. It’sRidiculous..Version: 5.4.1

Cannot link Canadian TV provider through the app.Very annoying. Cannot access any of the content that should be available with paid subscription with my TV provider. Making an account on the app, downloaded from the Canadian AppStore, requires a US identification. Close to unusable..Version: 5.1.3

Great shows on a lousy appThere are quite a few shows on this app that I really really enjoy. But I’m so used to being able to use the picture in picture function on the other streaming app in case I need to look up something that was just mentioned on the show that I want to understand better or if I get a text message from someone or a notification about something… And this app does not offer that feature. So I have to close the app temporarily to do whatever I need to do and then when I go back it always makes me watch ads again. 4 as in a row every 4 or 5 minutes is too much, especially when it’s the same 4 ads each time. And if one of the ads happens to be annoying or in some way offensive to you, you’re going to have to watch that ad 7 or 8 times in one episode. I would not mind the number of ads so much if it were not the same ads over and over. The repetitiveness is so tedious. I would use the app much more often if the picture in picture feature was available. There are a lot of shows on the app that I would really like to watch but the app is so inconvenient and there are other streaming apps that don’t present these problems. So I often find myself starting an episode and then getting frustrated and switching to a different show on a different streaming service. it’s very strange that the feature that is offered by pretty much every video streaming app is still not available on this one..Version: 6.1.1

Compared to the other TV Channel apps, this is the worstI pretty much only watch this channel for Horders, but there were a few other shows I might check out. The app crashes when you select "Watchlist" in the side menu. Also, while watching a show, an ad showed, after the ad there was a scene I wanted to show my wife, so I went back 10 seconds, which was around the time the show paused to show me the ad, and the ad played again after I just watched it seconds ago. Update: This app still is pretty bad. It's annoying how often it makes me re-login to my provider to unlock the shows. I use it on Chromecast, and sometimes when I press the rewind 30 seconds button, it starts the show from the beginning. Also, while watching Live PD: Police Patrol, there was a Coventyx ad that I timed and it was almost 6 minutes long...on top of the 3 or 4 other ads it plays during a commercial period. During one 20 minute episode, it played that ad twice. When trying to get back to an episode I watched earlier, it'll start about 10-20 minutes before the part I left off. Update 2: They managed to make this app worse. It won’t cast on chromecast anymore..Version: 3.4.2

Not Worth The HeadacheAwful app! The worst one on my TV’s app menu, actually. FILLED with glitches. It’s like trying to kickstart a motor that’s been sitting in the garage for 50 years. If you can get it going, the app will reboot once you’ve selected a program to watch. Go through that cycle a number of times and eventually the program will start by stuttering through the first few seconds of the opening commercial, freeze for a few seconds and then the app restarts. If you're lucky, you may be able to catch a reliable stream and make it through a whole program. After 3 days of this nonsense at a rate of about 3 programs per 100 tries I decided to delete the app from my TV’s menu. Good luck!.Version: 6.2.0

Just sad.The sound is out of sync every other episode. Have to exit and play the show about 5 times per episode to remedy the sound problem. I honestly haven’t watched one episode without having to restart the episode or the app. I genuinely wouldn’t use if I could watch elsewhere. Clearly based on other reviews, A&E knows the issues, but has not resolved them. You also have to creat a profile to track your progress across devices, shouldn’t that just be a given by now? I shouldn’t have to do extra work that every other streaming app does, especially when I have to watch 7 ads every 10 minutes. Just ugh. Update: A&E responded with their “copy and paste” response to every negative review. Clearly, they are working on resolving the issues with the utmost haste and care..Version: 4.1.8

Decent app, but...I understand there must be advertisements; however, I wish they were consistent. On one commercial break I counted six, whereas some only have one or two. Also, along the lines of consistency, commercial breaks can be four minutes apart OR close to twenty minutes apart. What is the reason for this?? It’s maddening. The timing of ads can be really awful. At least when watching these shows on my tv the commercial breaks are well placed, so storylines aren’t being interrupted. On the app ads are placed so randomly throughout the episodes you can’t get into watching the content without worrying about an ad break. I’m not really complaining about there being commercial breaks, but why do they need to be all over the place?.Version: 3.9.9

InfuriatingThis app will definitely make you throw your remote at your tv. It’s soooo glitchy. Takes forever for anything to load. Nothing works correctly. The “choose your ad experience” is a joke. If you choose 3 minutes of ads, it’s literally the same ad over and over again for 3 minutes. And this will happen several times during a 30 minute show. I swear to God, Geico must be the only company paying for ad space on this app. Also during the 3 minutes of the same ad over and over, the app will freeze and buffer several times so your 3 minutes turns into 10. But the show itself has no problem playing without freezing. If you choose the 30 second interactive ad experience, it literally just closes you out of the app and you have to start over with waiting for the app to load, waiting for the glitches to catch up so you can search for your show again… It is so infuriating that I end up just giving up and going over to Discovery Go. None of my other apps do these things. It’s literally just this extremely poorly functioning app..Version: 4.1.8
