New Cameras InstalledNew outdoor cameras from AT&T installed at my house today seem to be doing okay. I wouldn't say they're great. I'm actually a little disappointed with a couple of the glitches. I'm using the app to view them and its taking a while to load the archived videos, and it seems to keep freezing up and doing some weird flashing of the video. Not happy with that. Guess I was expecting a little more. Hopefully they do something to improve these glitches. Also, when I zoom in it won't let me move the zoom around..Version: 3.1701.1

FrustratingThis is so frustrating to me! It seems like it keeps getting worse and worse. Whenever you want to check the camera feed it just acts like its going to load and then, times itself out. So I go to my desktop and try it that way. It doesn't update with the current video and I'm just staring at a black screen. No image. Nothing. There's a new dumb trick it's doing now....you lock the door with the app and it tells me it's unlocked. I arm the system and it says disarmed. When the door is actually unlocked the app will say that it's locked. Same goes if the system is actually disarmed it says it's armed. When we move and all our equipment stays with the house, I will gladly pay a "fee" to get rid of this crap and not get equipment installed in the new house. If you want a security system I'm assuming you want one that is accurate when you want it to be and more importantly when you need it to be. This AT&T nonsense is definitely not it. Update broke the appThey removed the secure login for Face ID. Now it is just save my password and go on through. Can’t login now keep getting pushed back to login screen after logging in. Makes the app pointless and unusable! App used to actually work pretty well. Ever since the announcement of moving to Brinks seems they don’t care about customers anymore. Edit! Absolutely garbage app since they update l. The ui does not work anymore. I can not arm disarm from app just spins. Any automation I have forget about it won’t even work and if it does it will be at least 15 minutes delay. Oh ON TOP OF ALL THAT I CAN NOT EVEN USE THE APP ON MY OWN WI-FI. Sweeetspirited1This app doesn’t work consistently on iPhone 10! It constantly drops out your password and user ID, and now after being able to log in with the same password for months it’s doesn’t except that same password at all! Therefore I had to try logging in using different browsers! It’s so frustrating! Once I finally got in using google chrome, I still wasn’t able to view my recordings even after calling AT&T for assistance! The rep stayed on with me for around 15mins, telling me to try changing my password, try a google chrome browser, try deleting the app and reinstalling it, and nothing worked so he told me to hold on and then hung up on me! This app is garbage! It should work from any type phone or browser, but it doesn’t!.Version: 4.1901.41

Do not get this serviceWorst service. Worst app. Constant lock outs and “app down” for “unscheduled upgrade” - that’s the lie they are trained to tell you when you call customer service and after waiting for 20 minutes for someone to pick up. An unscheduled upgrade??? Please. Then when I complaint the the system isn’t performing as expected, they on 3 different calls say “ their contract is to only provide alarm monitoring. Not an app or web connectivity. ” Even if the app doesn’t work and their smart system isn’t smart - worst company. Hard to believe it’s AT&T - feels like some fly by night scam company. I want out of my contract but they won’t let me. Hard to believe the regulator hasn’t shut them down yet..Version: 3.1711.13

HORRIBLE APPLICATION!!!!Not that somebody cares or is going to read this and do something about it but this is a terrible application! Slow, UNRELIABLE! Icons go on and off for no reason and when you call them you get somebody from another country and you can’t understand a word they say. The service is also sub-optimal. Unfortunately I signed a contract with them after they promised me the moon and the stars. Full of lies! Last week my alarm went off while I was in the shower. Somebody called me and obviously I didn’t answer. THEY LEFT ME A VOICE MAIL! If there was an intruder in my house they could have left taking everything in sight because my alarm company was waiting for my call!!!.Version: 3.1711.13

No notification soundsThe app works well enough for me but I don’t like that the notifications have no sound or vibration to make me aware of something going on with my alarm. That’s a big deal to me. I hate using the work around of having to set up a program to send me text alerts every time my system is armed or disarmed, its a pain and fills up my text messages with digital life alerts. This has been an issue since day one and I figured it was something att was working on, but seeing as it’s been over a year and a half since I got my system, I don’t think that’s the case. Horrible!This app is horrible! Half the time, the app doesn’t open and the other half, it’ll open but won’t show you anything in your cameras. And the customer service is terrible! I once had a customer service rep tell me to get on a ladder to check my camera! I was trying to explain to her that there was water in the camera and she would not believe me and it took me speaking to someone else so that someone could come out to replace the camera! I’ve also heard that when you cancel the service, no one comes out to remove the equipment….so I guess I’m stuck with it until I figure a way to cancel my service..Version: 4.1909.99

Same...This ap has been inconsistent at best.... Consistently bad the rest of the time. Usually doesn't connect, even when I'm sitting two feet from my router. Can't open or close the garage door, check the camera or enable a device. I too had the problem giving up on the garage door and manually entering the house through the front door-only to have the garage door open up almost 15 minutes later. Had I not been right there to hear it, everything in my garage was open for the taking to the nearest thief. Awesome security! We have complained in the past to no avail. Just waiting out the contract. Hopefully either AT&T gets this fixed or loses a lot of customers. Don't start a Digital Life account!.Version: 3.1701.1

Glitchy appUpdate 10/17: Still by far one of the worst apps ever created for a glitchy, finicky home alarm system. The entire web development and IT department for AT&T should be fired, yesterday. I wholeheartedly regret signing this alarm contract and will be switching companies at the earliest convenience once the contract has expired. Stick to phones and TV, you people do a bad enough job at that. My home doesn't feel any safer with your ridiculous joke of a system "protecting" it. Update 7/16: Have been unable to log in to app for over a week. Uninstall/reinstall and password change didn't work. I DEMAND ACCESS TO WHAT I PAID FOR. FIX IT NOW. Wont log me in! And no help from customer Svc!!!This app is the worst I’ve EVER EVER EVER HAD!!!!! I can’t get into my home now because the app took over my garage door opener AND the app keeps looping back around to try logging me in again and again and won’t get me to the Home Screen! It’s my same face and same saved password. Literally NOTHING HAS CHANGED ON MY END. I’m literally locked out of my house right now, and I spent at least thirty minutes the other day trying to get this figured out with the help desk. But of course, the app is still cr@p. Fix the app plz!!Dear AT&T, My wife and I have had Digital Life for about a week now. We love the system👍🏼. We have 2 issues with the app. It takes forever to connect to a live feed of our cameras. Most of the time it won't connect at all and we have to close out the app and reopen to get it to work😡👎🏼. I also notice that the live feed connects better to my Apple Watch than the app on the phone, why is that? Also can you fix the issue with the app timing out. Maybe a setting that you can adjust? We have small children and want to be able to count on watching them but can't do to connection issues..Version: 3.1701.1

Unreliable AppApril 28, 2017 - After surviving another AT&T confirmed nationwide app outage this week, we canceled our service. Lessons learned: 1. The Digital Life app is unreliable. 2. AT&T does not own up to their products and services. 3. AT&T won't stand behind their customers but they will stand behind their contract, meaning they are charging me to leave the service that does not work while having to pay over $250 to do so. 4. Multiple AT&T service reps told me the app was "complimentary" and therefore I was not entitled to a bill credit even though they understood my frustration of paying for something I do not get. 5. When the app quits working, you will be left to figure that out as AT&T does not notify customers of service outages. I know this from multiple app outages over the past 16 months. 6. AT&T lost my respect and my trust. They need to get out of the security business as they don't know how to build or maintain an app that works. The low reviews by others echo this. Save yourself the heartache and find another provider. I did. AT&T should learn from other brands, like United, who fail their customers miserably. In this case obtaining freedom from Digital Life came with a hefty price charged to me. Ironically I was happy to pay for my chance to get away from a company who can't own up to their product and service shortcomings..Version: 3.1701.1

Live feed still not working!!The live feed from cameras only works when connected to wifi. Doesn't work on 4g/LTE. I have done some research on this and I must have read 50 reviews, the oldest review was from February 2, 2015!!! Every single review I read had the same issues, no live feed and trouble logging into the digital life app. I had a technician troubleshooting these issues until 9pm to no avail. I suppose we're stuck with it until AT&T engineers figure out the problems. I have updated the DigitalLife app a few times but the descriptions only said general bug fixes. Maybe they will figure it out before my two year contract is up. Then I just might looking for a more stable alarm system. Good luck people and keep the faith..Version: 3.1701.1

Non-responsive 75% of the timeI have an idea. Every time you lock me out of my home for 5, 10, 15 minutes because the app freezes, it times out or is generally non-responsive, you take money off my bill? Because my time is valuable to me and I don’t appreciate rebooting my iPhone 5 times and still not being able to disarm my system. After 5 reboots, I finally just triggered my alarm tonight, which freaked out my pets and brought the neighbors looking. Then guess what? The keypad wouldn’t shut off the stupid alarm because it too was non-responsive. I wish I could say this was rare but it’s almost every night and I dread trying to disarm my system now. Thank goodness Brinks is taking over. I will give them a chance. Clearly, AT&T has already abandoned their customers and only cares about collecting money..Version: 4.1909.99

JunkI cannot day enough bad things about this app or the Digital Life system. I have been with them since ATT bought the system from the developer Zambu. Has NEVER worked 100% from the beginning. Only reason I stayed for so long is a friend worked with the developers and ATT during this transition. Call center employees are not educated on the system. They only know how to follow the flowchart on their screen then send someone out. Even if it’s a software issue they send someone out. I have been in the high tech industry for decades and they do not want to take any advice from someone who knows about data centers, servers, security systems etc. My recommendation is steer clear of ATT Digital Life. Yes, they’re cheaper but also much less reliable with non existent tech support..Version: 4.1901.41

App is even worseThe system itself is fine, no issues there. However, the app is horrible! I thought with this last major update it would improve, but it’s gotten even worse. It takes forever to actually even load to get into, so hopefully I never need to in an emergency. Then, once I’m in it doesn’t function properly. Pages take forever to load. I try arming the system and it just spins and spins and spins. It tells me the door is unlocked when it’s not and vice versa. Do not purchase their services!I have given them one star because otherwise I cannot leave a review. I have been an AT&T customer my entire life; first as a rotary phone consumer, then as a mobile phone consumer, and for the past 5 years as a digital life customer. I don’t tend to complain, but there is zero customer service with this group. I began to experience problems in December, called again in January & cancelled the service in February. The cancellation did not go through, so I paid my bill in a timely manner in March. Still no cancellation and then they stole money out of my account in April, (an unauthorized account transaction) adding insult to injury adding a late fee! I am still fighting with them, they have charged me a fee for nonexistent security service and now have a collection agency calling me. DON’T BEGIN A RELATIONSHIP WITH THEM.Version: 4.1901.41

Can't wait for our contract to end!!Not only is the app unreliable but so are the cameras. Cameras have been out since May 8th when some kind of software update was performed. The app is easy to use but takes forever to load the cameras. Someone could be in my house before the live feed loads. I do like the ability to lock our door and set the alarm from the app. Getting a service call scheduled is also an ordeal. They are booked so far ahead because they are losing technicians left and right. I was told this by a tech that came out to fix my alarm panel. It was the 3rd panel we had to get. So obviously there are problems there also. Overall we are very disappointed with this service and with ATT. I would not recommend this product..Version: 3.1701.1

Worst home security everWorst customer service in the world. If you are fine paying out for absolutely nothing and then be happy, as I was, to pay cancellation fees just to never have to deal with them again, sign up with them. After I moved, after multiple times trying to contact them to cancel my service I finally persevered and finally completed it after more than 2 hours on hold. I have screen shots of my call log. After I reached the retention department they said they had to transfer me because I moved, and then the next person I reached said they had to transfer me because I was cancelling my service. I had to ask for a manager, threaten calling the better business bureau and threaten a lawsuit to get someone to close my account. And I had to pay termination fees even though my contract was up in two days and I was no longer living in the property. Oh, and to keep their crappy service in my new home, they wanted $550 to transfer me. Use ANY other company! I got nothing from them after 4 year of being a loyal customer!.Version: 4.1806.30

Waste of moneyWe've had two exterior cameras, security system and sensors on all windows & doors for two years. The security system is ok. But the cameras blow. Hard. No matter how sensitive we program them they continuously record dumb things like tree shadows & moths, but 7 out of 10 times they will not record people approaching our house. Our cameras are not obstructed by anything and have a clear line of sight. It's frustrating that we spent so much money on them for them to not work properly. Picture quality isn't great, either. Also, they only come in white but our house trim is black. We had to paint them so they wouldn't look garish. We bought a Ring doorbell 3 months ago and we love it! Crystal-clear resolution, records when anyone approaches the house and the audio is a bonus. Avoid buying cameras through AT&T DL. Terrible!Hands down, the worst app in the history of apps. God forbid we ever actually get robbed, the system never records. God forbid anything else happens inside, I can't actually see the video camera that monitors the inside of the house! 90% the cameras never load on the app, I can't raise or lower the garage door, set the alarm. Complete highway robbery the price we pay for the system, when the main system operating app doesn't ever work!! And nothing us customers can do about it since we're all locked in contracts! Horrible!The cheaper always comes out more expensive! We went with this company because of price ... 3 years later after being attacked on my lawn and the camera didn’t record it I am DONE! We have requested a new camera twice! And when they send out a Tech, he said we didn’t need a new camera, yet it still doesn’t catch all that goes on in front my house. Now once again the SAME tech comes out finally getting a new camera .. this company and this app is trash ! You won’t be able to playback the videos if it does record. It crashes 99% of the time, no lie!! You must open it at least 3 times to finish what you were looking to do. Slow to cut on the alarm, it takes 2 tries to unlock the front door with the app always! Great service worst appThis is a great service that works well. The app on the other hand Is probably the single worst app I’ve ever used. I just spent the last 30 minutes trying to update my payment method and it keeps telling me my information is invalid. On a daily basis as I try to arm it from away from the house sometimes when I hit skip the countdown it’s still spends endlessly until it decides it is going to work. And then there is this bug where for no reason that anyone can tell me I have to change my password every few months and it’s not due to expiration at least that anyone is aware of. APP not showing the specific names of openings in device logEach opening in my house has a specific name, such Garage Entry, Garage Door 2, and Garage Door 3 to name the ones I use the most. On the front page of the APP, any activity at these doors is completely identified as the specific door (Garage Door 2 for example). However, in the Devices Log, any past activity is only identified as Garage, without specifying the particular door. If I look at the log for yesterday’s activity, I can’t identify any specific door being opened. The log used to reflect accurately which door opened/closed. I want that capability in my system like I used to have..Version: 4.1901.41

Update makes app unresponsiveThe latest update makes energy save mode unresponsive. I’ve saved money using this setting for heat and air and now I can’t use this setting on my phone. When selected the thermostat will not respond and will remain off. I have to set energy save from the thermostat itself which can be an inconvenience if I’m away from home or far from the thermostat. Also I’ve noticed that the app will say a different setting and temperature from what the thermostat actually states. It’s hard to tell which one is correct. This has become a real nuisance. Worst alarm systemDON’T BUY THIS ALARM SYSTEM. This is the worst alarm system I’ve ever had. It goes “off line” regularly. The app directs you to the Solutions Center, then troubleshooting. But, troubleshooting doesn’t work because your system is “off line”, so they direct you to a Live Chat, then in the middle of Live Chat you get disconnected & have to start over. Sometimes the system fixes itself, but mine isn’t working more than it works. And every time my power blinks off for even a second, it goes “off line”, but doesn’t come back on with power so I have to do all this again. I’m trapped in 2 year contract, but as soon as it’s up, I’m getting rid of this..Version: 3.1701.1

Worst app for home securityThe only area of this app that somewhat consistently works is arming and disarming your security system. The suggested programs are terrible, and trying to customize a program to fit your needs is even worse. Extremely frustrating that I don’t feel my home is secure because AT&T can’t develop an app that brings it into the 21st century. We’ve had this system for nearly 10 years and the app has stayed virtually the same. No new or innovative capabilities - at all. This is ridiculous.I never write reviews but I’ve had enough with digital life. The app constantly logs you out and you can’t log back in unless you call customer service. When the app does let you in there is often a delay between taking an action on the app and the devices activating. I try to unlock my door and disarm the system as I pull up to the house and the door doesn’t unlock or system disarm. I end up manually unlocking the door and system and then once I’m already in the house 5-10 minutes later my door unlocks! That is the opposite of security! Same thing with the lights. I try to turn them off when I’m back in bed and it doesn’t work so I have to go turn them off manually. Why am I paying extra for home automation when I have to do everything manually? When I call in to customer service to try to resolve the issues they essentially say that’s to bad and they can’t do anything about it. They also still don’t support Siri or Google home. You would think AT&T would have a technology based security system in the bag but they don’t. Bottom line if you are looking for working home automation built into your security system look somewhere else..Version: 4.1806.30

Terrible appBeen garbage since the day I got it. Updates don't help. Only logs me in half the times I try other times I have to kill the app and try again. Clicking the solution center does nothing at all. So to simply change a battery I have to walk upstairs to my desktop computer and login. Then come back downstairs to change the battery and back up to make sure it worked. I even told customer support about this months ago and today it still doesn't work. Garbage app **Update At least solution center works but still trying to change a battery is hit or miss on the phone. The app takes you out to the mobile website which errors out with a please logout and back in or We are unable to continue errors. Sometimes it works most of the times it doesn't. I hope y'all read this I hate y'allThis system and app has so much potential. The whole system runs glitchy full of delays. But recently I upgraded to the iPhone X. Now this app does not give push notifications. I wasted a whole 2 hours trying to explain to the customer service rep that I get the text message when my Alarm is disarmed but I don’t get push notification. Instead he tried to run me around making me check a bunch stuff I already did and know before I called them. It’s hard to to explain something to a person who is not phone savvy. Needless to say this app is trash. It’s only good for paying my bill.(funny that works). This app is the only app on my phone that never updates. It only updated once this year. I’ve had it!As I scroll through the reviews I find myself with the same problems as the other customers. App doesn’t load properly and the live streaming on the camera is useless. It does not load! You also have to jump through hoops just to arm the system. If anyone knows a good reliable security alarm company please let me know! I also spoke to a rep on the phone gave them all the information but that person would not give me any information since the account is in my wife’s name. Recent UpdateI just woke up to an update to this app and I don’t like it. There is a new window that opens that is blue and red(away, stay and instant). The issue is that the screen will not move up so that I can click the box below the stay and away. I assuming that in the white box is a button to skip the countdown. Whatever I cannot see or click the button. When I click stay or away I don’t want it to countdown, I just want it to arm immediately. But now with the update I click stop the countdown/allow it to set immediately 😕.Version: 4.1893.34

From another eraThis app is like trying to use 1990s technology in 2021. You remember it working well but when you’re actually using it you realize it’s a disaster. This app is terrible. They actually updated it lately and made literally zero improvements. The need to ‘program’ devices and create scripts is so convoluted it’s laughable. The suggested programs are a joke. The capabilities are seriously antiquated. I have to open and close the app a half dozen times because I get stuck in some sign in loop. I once called AT&T to report a couple issues and was told they had to call back. They issued me an 18-digit case number that I could reference! 18 digits!!! This company, this system, this app, they should all be left in the dustbin of outdated and obsolete technologies and services..Version: 4.1909.99

2 years are up and I’m on the fenceThe last update tidied things up for the iPhone X but it completely broke the Apple Watch app and that’s a shame. I used it often and although some things didn’t work most of the features such as locking doors, lights, alarms, and temperature were easily done on the watch. There’s a credible rumor AT&T might sell off the home security business so I’m unsure if the app will be getting a lot of love in the future. At this point I’m doing my research and looking at alternatives like Nest or HomeKit. It’s a shame because almost everything worked great with DigitalLife but now no sense paying a steep monthly fee for now 2 year old equipment or buying new equipment for an ecosystem whose future is questionable..Version: 3.1711.13

Paying bill with app is a nightmare! Monitoring faulty.App has improved but paying monthly bill thru app has not. I have to try multiple times to pay my bill each month. Each time it gives me an error. If i call att to pay my bill on phone, then attt charges $5 fee. What a joke! If the app rarely does accept payment by chance, it doesn't give you confirmation number In the app. Many a time i have been charge late fee because of this faulty app, as it says credit card charged but in reality it didn't. The other issue is of monitoring. I used to get phone calls when someone triggered the alarm but not now. I wonder if anyone now monitors the alarm. Yet att charges monthly fee for monitoring. Getting worse5 years with app. Becoming trash quickly! Can’t always login to arm/unarm home. App constantly spins when u try to do so several times a month. U don’t know if ur alarm is set or unarmed. It takes forever to log into the app than it used too in the past. It’s hard to get alerts set right on the phone. I can get arming alerts but no motion alerts in my outside cameras. This app as well AT&T has been trash for years and has been falling off. Reason I left the cell phone service years ago. It is probably a good time to drop this service and cut ties with this company all around. Not happy with poor customer service as well. Nobody knows how to do anything at all when u ask them. App stopped allowing me in after you did an update 10 minutes agoNot that anyone ever reads this but you should. On November 12, 2017 you tech guys decided to upgrade your app and now it’s useless. You can’t log in. It says a new version of the app is available please go to the App Store to download the new version. Well there is nothing in the App Store except the old version that locks me out. This happens way to often. I’m on hold now for 28 minutes to your ridiculous customer service. 32 minutes later a person answered and said Att is updating the app and it may or may not wort by tomorrow morning or in several hours later. Poor poor poor technology. You leave your customers without service. I love the hardware. I love the install. I love the entire concept I hate the app. I've had the system for 5 days and the app has been down or glitchy everyday. You can not rely on the app at all. Yesterday I got in my car in the rain then attempted to arm the system and lock the door via the app no way. I had to get back out in the rain and manually arm and key pad the door lock. The app is out again this morning. The customer service personel on the phone are very nice and sympathetic but offer only empty promises and excuses. At&t this is a joke. Great ... since latest update.... I now can't bring up camera's on app.Well guys .... seems like every time you've done an update for the app. The app gets worse. When i first started with you guys. Your app worked awesome. But after every update i got from you all. The app got worse. Now i can't set my alarm at all... and i can't open any of my camera's. Please fix this problem. What good is it to have an alarm system that i can't turn on and off. And not have a visual on any of my camera's. Little frustrating guys. Choose a different providerToday my alarm was apparently disarmed by the app while I was asleep and my roommate was driving. Neither of us could have done this. I call and ask them to tell us how that could happen or if they could tell me who's log in it was that disarmed it (because they give you separate log ins...they should be able to see that) but they could not. They told me they've had issues with their app not displaying properly. They could not give me any real answer as to how the system is disarmed from the app when neither of us were using the app. That does not make you feel secure at all and if we were robbed or something happened and someone was able to hack the system this way..they'd have no way to trace who did it. Complete waste of a security system. The app needs to be fixed before they continue selling this product. Go with someone else..Version: 3.1701.1

Displays incorrect sensor status - Open garage when it’s closed!Says my garage is open when it is closed. I checked my app the other day and selected to “close” the garage because it stated it was open. It then displayed on the app it was properly closed. However, thankfully I listened to my gut and actually checked because my garage was closed to begin with! When I selected the garage button, it opened it! Had I not listened to my gut instinct to get up and check, my garage would have been open all night due to this display error. The app incorrectly shows my garage open when it in fact is closed. When I open it, it shows it’s closed. Please fix!!! It’s done this for days..Version: 4.1901.41
