✓ Love the app, not the way it tells me I have picked a word that’s not on its list.I really, really like this app. The only thing keeping me from giving it 5 stars is the way it tells me “not a real word” when I know it IS a real word. Makes me gnash my teeth every time. Why can’t it just say “Sorry, not on my list”? This happens multiple times during a session. GRRR! ✓ Features that could make this betterThere used to be an iOS app called WITS!. It was a variation on Jotto that showed the player not only how many letters in each guess were correct but also how many of those letters were in the correct position in the mystery word. As a result, playing the game required a lot more logical deduction than simple guesswork. Another nice feature was that as letters were deduced by the player, they were indicated in the list of guesses. Unfortunately, that app has not been updated for a number of years, and is no longer compatible with the current operating systems. ✓ Too Quick to Cost MoneyWe played Jotto for years when we camped and Loved it! I was over the moon when my daughter sent me this game, BUT, almost immediately they wanted to charge to upgrade. I accidentally bypassed the instructions, but knowing how to play, I surged ahead. Once I used up hints, I was unable to get more help without paying. ✓ AlmostThe one improvement I would recommend is the ability to guess words that have repeat letters. Example “sassy”. If the letter’s’ is correct, that would account for 3 by itself. ✓ “Yellow for Maybe” Feature Disappeared After UpdateI reduced my rating to 1 star because my most recent word was “Waxing” which is a 6-letter word. The only way I found out that was the word was by using the Hint button because, since the words are only supposed to have 5 letters, I wasn’t even able to key in the correct word. I could only enter “waxin” which, of course, is “NOT A REAL WORD.” ########## EARLIER REVIEW: I’ve been enjoying this game but already had 3 wishes for improvements: - Wanted a different color to designate double-used letters in harder levels; - Wanted no double-used letters in the lowest level, which isn’t supposed to have any; and - Wanted more words to solve for. However, since the latest update, not only is there no special color for double letters, now we no longer have the yellow designation to indicate possible letters. This is a step backward, so I’m giving a lower rating than I would have before the update. [lYellow for maybe” was reinstated, so I added a star.] The update that was supposed to filter out double letters where they don’t belong did not work.
