✓ This is a truly great app......but just as a heads up, this is an upgrade for those of us that have already purchased the $55 version. Trust me, it's money well spent. Update: The sync feature worked perfectly for me. This app is still tops in my book..Version: 6.2
✓ READ THIS & THE 'WHAT'S NEW' SECTIONI'm an owner of the previous $54.99 Oxford Deluxe ODE & OTE. This new app is a replacement for us. It now allows us to use iCloud syncing, which helps if you have more than one iOS device with this app installed on them. Furthermore, this app developer is not ripping us off. You can read the 'What's New' section and see for yourself. Besides, I contacted the developer numerous times via email and was given superior support. I'm completely satisfied with this developer. The only complaint I have is that the bookmarks I saved in the old version were not able to be saved and imported into this new version. However the developer attempted to assist me in this, but the solution was for me to install another third-party application on my Mac in order to do it. I thought why should I pay for such an app in order to move from one already purchased iOS app to another, right? Luckily, I did not have more than 10 minutes worth of bookmarks I manually added to the new version of this app, and the catch is I had more than one iOS device to complete the task. Other than that I find no fault in this developer. Who is perfect? What is perfect?.Version: 5.0.4

✓ SUGGESTION to add a new feature "“Move All words in History to Bookmark with One Click"This is a really fantastic dictionary! There is only one inconvenience that almost makes me give it up. It does not allow me to add all the words in history to bookmark with ONE CLICK. Can you imagine how inconvenient this is to add 50-70 words ONE BY ONE everyday? I am totally aware that adding “Move All words in History to Bookmark” feature is not a big technical challenge for the developer and this small change can improve user’s experience greatly..Version: 13.2

✓ The best money I have ever spentYes, it was over 40£. Yes, there have been many problems with the app during endless transitions to new Apple operating systems. Yes, the app did call me a thief at some point, although I had paid the full admission price. But I’ve had this app for years. And, although it is no longer available to buy, the developer continues to update it regularly. While many other developers charged a hefty price for standalone apps and then took their word back and pushed people to subscription models (1Password anyone?), these folks have continued to keep this little gem running smoothly for no extra cash. And they still do. I couldn’t have asked for more for my money. It’s still my go to dictionary and thesaurus for daily use. And it continues to improves, thanks to little tweaks and upgrades that are still being released from time to time. A developer that respects the paying customer - something rare these days. ✓ Upgrade from version 4: Good Job!Very Good Support. Just turn on iCloud backup and wifi syncing (at least temporarily), and the version 5 upgrade will be able to connect to the developer servers and properly recognize the previous purchase of the dictionary. The developer emailed me directions within 24 hours over a weekend, and the upgrade worked seamlessly, even though I'm using a different iPhone than the original dictionary was on (the first iPhone died, and was replaced.) ✓ Quality dictionary app butThis is a great dictionary to have on my mobile devices - what you expect from the OED. However the OED apparently terminated their agreement with the developers of this app with the result that after paying £37.99 (the most expensive app I have ever bought) I was blocked from using it and invited to pay for it again. Eventually English Channel Support (apparently the new providers of the app) made it available to me after a tortuous process. They wanted a screen print showing my purchase and the wi-fi address of all my mobile devices. They stubbornly refused to offer an explanation and ignored my suggestion that an apology would be in order. This all reflects badly on the OED and I believe the ITunes Store who should not allow this to happen..Version: 6.2

✓ Why do I love the Oxford DictionaryAs an octogenarian at this stage in my life, I look back to the days when as a young school boy my dad always spoke of the “Murray’s Oxford” as the ultimate lexicon to refer to. Things have not changed. When you refer to it, you know it is the ultimate. How delighted I was when my granddaughter a few years ago, when she was still not ten, asked me for a dictionary. Open the app just to see a “Total Failure” message and then auto redirect to appstore to install the “updated version”. Now I have to pay another 38$ for the same app? No thanks!
