7 Minute Workout - Beginner to Advanced High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) for Negative User Reviews
✓ It’s strength is its weakness. The best part about the app is also its worst part, which is a shame because these guys put in a lot of handwork. i applaud them but it still falls short. here’s the deal: the app gives you a great variety of exercises so that that you can mix and match your 7 minute workout. it also shows you a video of someone performing the exercise. this is fantastic. you can a) vary your exercise and b) choose from a wide variety. some interesting variations from your standard body-weight pushup, sit-ups, etc. the problem is, the app doesn’t save your routine. so, all the work that you put into creating the perfect routine is lost. you have to do it over again each time and that kills the spontaneity at the heart of “7 minute workouts.” you can do it in a snap. for me, saving my workout is crucial. i have a serious knee injury and have to specify certain exercises over others. allow users to save their workouts/exercises and you have a five star app, no doubt..Version: 1.6.1
✓ Confusing..................to use. Not the easiest app to work around and I found it really difficult to change the choice of exercises. Now deleted. May return to this if app gets updated as its heart seems to be in the right place..Version: 1.6.1
✓ Good butHow about Apple Watch functionality.Version: 2.0.2
✓ Great little workoutUpdated review drops stars because I can no longer use my own music to work out with Lolo workout apps. I find it very frustrating. My workaround is to have the music going on my iPad and the app going on my phone. Very disappointed in the updates. I do my main working out in the mornings but was looking for something pretty quick for the evenings. This app is perfect. It's a seven minute workout. It takes about 10 minutes and burns about 70 calories. Every day is a different set of exercises for 30 seconds each. There is a little video you can watch to see how to perform the exercises and you can also set it up to use the equipment you have available. You can change those settings in case you are traveling..Version: 2.0.2
✓ I'm confusedThe workouts are great. The app changes up the activities to give you plenty of variety. I have no equipment besides a chair, but I feel like the routines are varied and challenging. I'm confused about two things, however. The first might just be my own ignorance: each "day," or set of exercises, is numbered sequentially. My expectation is that when I finish "day 1," I will go on to "day 2." But for me, that doesn't happen. When I return to the app the next day, it does not increment. I think the routine changes, however (i.e., the exercises are not the same). So maybe I am just misunderstanding the point. The second problem I have with the app is the fact that it asks me to rate it EVERY TIME. Other apps I own may ask for a review, but if I answer "No, thanks," they don't ask again. That's not the case with this app. It asks every time I use it. Now that I am actually writing a review, I hope it leaves me alone..Version: 1.6.1
✓ Some good, lots infuriatingThe first thing to say, is that when you can get this app to work the way that you want it to, then it's great. But it has so many infuriating features, that most of the time you can't. The most notable of these, is that every single time that you leave the app, even just for a split second as you accidentally tap a notification, the entire app resets. If you've spent time setting up a workout and playlist, watching videos of the exercise, the second that you step away for even a second, everything is gone. Another frustrating feature, is that this app records the active calories of your workout to Apple Heath, but for some reason, they don't count towards your active calories for the day. I did a workout where I burned 91 calories. They were logged in Apple Health, but my total calories for the day still read 27 (it was the morning). For some reason, the calories from this app don't count towards your Apple Health totals. I tried to contact the developer to ask about this, but grew infuriated when trying, because anytime I clicked away from the app to check that the feedback I was giving was accurate, the app reset itself and my email was wiped. So I decided to air my frustrations in a review instead. And it's a shame, because this app has the potential to be really good. Like I said, when you can get it to work the way you want it to, it's great. But good luck getting that to happen..Version: 2.0.2
✓ Looses today's workout during sleep or backgroundFirst off-this still is the only app that offers variation to what should be easily defined cardio and muscle groups. 1st Star dropped because the app will completely duck the sound of anything in the background-it won't bounce back up between instructions. Here's my beef: maybe it's just the 7-minute workout to begin with, but lots of the substitutes seem to hit the same muscles over and again, rather than move on, and furthermore I sense there's a slight bias to target the "problem" areas that many women get obsessed with-thighs, butt-rather than rounding out the areas that an obsessed male might want to target-belly, shoulders/back, etc. I do think its possible to find a broader interpretation of the variations that would really count rather than lunges and squats filling up all the odd exercises, for example. Advanced moves could be more compound exercises-like the lunge with twist, etc, and frankly the advanced moves aren't particularly advanced. And I find it annoying that my workout doesn't stay intact, even if I advance it to the start screen. Sure, I stated in set-up which equipment that I have and don't have, but who's to say that I'm working out with all my equipment surrounding me-it's typically stowed away. And for every time I walk back there or adjust the exercises in the app, then say change my music playlist, I don't want to then return to the app to find that the workout changed again..Version: 1.6.1
✓ Completely loses state whenever it loses focusIf you use multi-task to switch away from this app for even a second it completely loses track of what you were doing and resets back to the beginning as if you were starting fresh again. The startup splash screen/sound shows up again and sometimes you even have to log in again. It's very frustrating when no other app behaves like this. Once you actually get it working the exercises are halfway decent. It allows you to pick the equipment you have on hand and set the intensity level on the fly which are all great but this daily login/data loss have to stop. Uninstalled for now....Version: 1.6.1
