By setting a plan in the app; plaque removal, stain removal and so on, you get a daily average brush and recommendations which you can watch to enable you to keep good oral health at all time. Highly recommended by Oral-B, and dentists. 87% of dentists notice a considerable improvement in gum and mouth hygiene in as little as 6 months. The app just keeps me informed, reminds me to brush and empowers me to have a better oral hygiene routine. Kudos. I especially like the news videos you can watch to pass the time by while your timers going in the background and your brushing. ✓ Good App, Could Be BetterOverall I think this app is good for the most part. I have an iPhone X and I am currently using my iO Series 7 toothbrush with it. I enjoy all the different journeys, medals and the entire idea of the app. I do have a couple gripes about the app though. I’m not sure if it’s how you hold the tooth brush or the angle that it picks up but I tend to see the app “brushing” the top right of my mouth when I have the tooth brush on the bottom left of my mouth. This happens with all areas of my mouth so I’m forced to take a lot longer than I normally do brushing my teeth to try to move my brush along my mouth to see where it picks up the part of my mouth that isn’t fully covered even though I’ve brushed it thoroughly already. Then my score is low because I had to take 3 minutes to brush instead of 2 minutes because the app was misreading where I was brushing. Lastly I messaged customer service several times about some issues and I never heard back from them..Version: 8.1.1

Agree with other reviewers about the accuracy of the app - just brushed for 2:49 and spent extra time on the sides of the jaw but the app didn’t register anything for those quadrants. ✓ Great experienceJust moved from Phillips sonicare to Oral B. I feel great after brushing as if I came from a hygienist. Removed one star because having issues with Bluetooth connection even my brush is next to my iPhone 12. When you do not have Bluetooth on, you can not use “your brush”feature in more section of the settings. It is lot easier to access features from the app than the toothbrush itself. Also if I select 30 seconds timer on, it should work all the time even I am in a guided session, period. Please do something to connect Bluetooth easily on the app, it should stay on until we put the brush on charging. So please make the timer work all the time and improve your Bluetooth connectivity and make the process easier. Your staff at Oral B should be more knowledgeable. ✓ Does not sense toothbrushEver since the new version of the app I am unable to sense toothbrush and so app is not working. It tells me that the brush has been found but when I start brushing it doesn’t start the timer. Very disappointed.Version: 8.0.2
✓ Genius AppI used to be horrendous at brushing my teeth. I didn’t set up the app until a month into buying the toothbrush but the clever thing stores all the info on your brushes and transfers it via blue tooth. It even tells you when your brushing too hard! I could see that some days when I thought I had been brushing for 2 mins it had actually been for 45 seconds - I get distracted easily. It’s a game changer for my teeth colour as I thought they were yellow just because I drank coffee. My mouth feels cleaner they walk you through each steps and my dentist is thrilled they remind me to mouthwash in the morning and even floss in the evening which I just never did. My friends now compliment my teeth without me needing to pay hundreds on a whitening treatment I was planning on. Life changing. Never going back..Version: 7.1.2

✓ I love this app but recent updates have introduced problemsI have looked for a place to report bugs but I get a 404 error so I figured I’d communicate here. I have been using the app for a while, I’m not a very savvy user but I have found it helpful and it’s been interesting to monitor my brushing. A few weeks ago my app started doing a count down after I was done brushing and then would not move on to the screen where I could upload brushings that were done without the app on. I had to close the app totally. Then, more recently, the app doesn’t even upload the brushing I have just done with the app on. I have checked that I am logged in and I don’t think I have changed how I am running the app so I’m thinking the changes have occurred with your recent releases. I did just discover that I could set the brushing time to 4 minutes, which I like, so I did select that. Thank you!.Version: 9.3.1

This strikes me as a trivial matter and would add a functionality that means something to me. ✓ Read if you’re looking to download this app!It’s a great app, helps to stop being lazy, I just have one issue: its bad at detecting where your brushing. This is something that is personally very annoying for me. Whenever I’m brushing I’m doing one part of my mouth for at least ten seconds and it’s still on the wrong side!! And no, I don’t have any other Bluetooth devices connected, so that’s not the problem. Out of frustration I push a little too hard in an attempt to get it to fix to the right side of my mouth but it marks it a overpressure and deducts points from my score. I had a perfect score of 100% every time and because of the overpressure I don’t😓. Yes it might be petty to want a perfect score every time, but if it’s backed into the log I want it to be perfect. ✓ Brushing is now the only thing that gets me out of bed!I am really impressed by the effort, passions, and creativity put into the Oral-B app. It makes brushing so much fun when you introduce gamification and I’m learning how to brush my teeth all over again! My teeth feel cleaner and I could already notice a night and day difference just after one brush. Brushing my teeth is the only thing that gets me out of bed in the morning!!! The app interface was done very well. It’s modern, entertaining, and easy to use. Oral-B in my opinion made one of the best products that people would actually use on the daily. ✓ Great app with One minor draw backI just got the Oral-B series 9 and love the toothbrush and the app. I have braces and i can see a difference between this toothbrush and the last one i had. The app os super neat and something thats just a silly thing that i feel Like could be improved is that i wish they had more medals, its silly but nothings more exciting than seeing the little balls on the screen. Although something that is more upsetting thing about this is that it doesn’t always save my toothbrush data. I'm doing the ortho journey, and i don’t know if it'll do this when I'm not in a journey, but when I finish brushing my teeth i can push the button on the tooth to go from daily clean to tongue clean. I’ll finish up then look to see how long i brushed and it would only say 30 seconds because thats how long the tongue clean is but the actual toothbrush 2+ mins of the session time disappears. ✓ Awesome work!I love this toothbrush and app. I was skeptical at first… it seemed like this would be “gimmicky” but it actually works very well. I bought one for all members of my family. The only issue I’m having that I seem to be able to reproduce regularly, is that if I pause brushing to empty my mouth, when I resume, it seems to lose tracking on which sector I’m actually brushing. Aside from this, everything is great. If any of the developers read these reviews here is what I’m noticing: I’m right handed, I start on top left, around front to top right, to bottom right… pause, and when I resume bottom front, I can’t seem to get the brush to recognize when I’m actually brushing the bottom left. It thinks I’m brushing the bottom right. If I don’t have to pause, I don’t seem to have this issue..Version: 9.2.1
✓ ExcellentI purchased a genius 9000 series toothbrush and installed the app two days ago after years of using a manual toothbrush. Connecting the toothbrush to the app and adjusting the settings was extremely easy and quick. I could see improvement in the removal of surface stains after the first brush and my mouth feels exceptionally clean and feels cleaner for longer. The app has helped me be aware of the few moments of overpressure and I am enjoying the daily challenge, especially the reminder to floss. Overall, I would highly recommend this toothbrush and app. One thing I would like is the ability to have different profiles on the app as my child would like to use this app but is too young to have his own phone. Also, as my first brush was at night, it appears that the app has day and night mixed up in the routine and it looks like there is no way to adjust this..Version: 9.1.1

✓ Makes it fun!I like this app, got to admit. It’s a bit daft I suppose having an app to help you clean your teeth, I’m an adult, I’m perfectly capable! Lol. Having said that, it makes it fun and turns something boring into an event (hey, this is the year of lockdowns, got to find excitement where you can!) I’m enjoying tracking my progress and I got this toothbrush because my dentist said I was pressing too hard and it admonishes you for that, so that’s good too. Have had no problems connecting every time. I don’t know about the mouth segment tracking as I bought a mid range brush that just uses a timer in the app. Only thing I would request is that it would be great if the data synced up with Apple Health. Other than that, fun little app! Thanks. Update: Discovered it does sync with Apple Health, so cool. Yes, this app isn’t necessary, but then surely most people knew that? ✓ Astoundingly goodExpecting this to be gimmicky, checked it out for the short-term entertainment value, to my utter surprise it’s remarkably well laid out and informative and provides what certainly seems like meaningful coaching for important dental care. the toothbrush itself is a wonderful device, very nice ergonomics and the pressure sensor works very well, you see the rim light on the brush in the mirror and red is too much and blue not enough, green means go. My periodontist highly recommends this product with app and I can see that he’s absolutely right to do so. I am now convinced this is a fantastic product with a very meaningful and highly useful app. A dedicated course of home dental care using this instrument with its technology and using interdental brushes will probably save me having to otherwise get dentures in the next decade. ✓ Finally at 23 years old brushing my teeth 2x a day!I’m ashamed to admit that my relationship with my oral health is bad. I know it’s important and I’ve had enough cavities to know better. However, I often used to brush 1x a day and be too lazy in the morning and chew gum instead. At night I would just floss and use mouth wash instead of brushing. Until I bought the $100 oral - b brush with the 5 settings and Bluetooth connectivity. The app shows u where u need to brush as you’re brushing. There’s a timer so u stick to the 2 minute mark. Also it tells you if you applied too much pressure, among other features. For me the main benefit is. The app along with the sleekness of the high tech brush reminds me of the dentist and that dreadful feeling of thinking about how the dentist will get his hands in my mouth and start picking at all those areas I didn’t brush. So it feels good to be my own dentist at home so I can avoid the dentists office. Idk if that makes any sense but it does to me. I love this app and the brush. When I just unpackaged the brush I was surprised to see it had Bluetooth. I didn’t know that was a thing. I also didn’t know there’s all these fancy sensors. This tech feels like a massive step in the right direction. ✓ My teeth have never been cleanerI would like to start this review with talking about the toothbrush. First off, the brush does not vibrate like other electronic toothbrushes, IT ACTUALLY MOVES AROUND IN A CIRCLE. Furthermore, giving your teeth the clean of a lifetime. The brush also has features like how you are able to pick the color your toothbrush has and the feel of the toothbrush is very satisfying. Now on onto the app. Okay so the brush COMES with a thing to hook up to your mirror which is just genius because who wants to hold the phone while brushing? The app also tracks your progress during brushing and also shows a diagram showing where to brush. After you brush it shows you the results and that’s the best part. Getting my results makes brushing the highlight of my day. First time I got 54% (horrible). Second was 68% (better). Third was 99% (amazing). 4th was 100% or 💯 (perfect). My wife and I both use the oral-b IO7 with different brush heads (she uses a sensitive one) and there is no way to add a user or profile. ✓ App Language problem!!!App has no possibility to change language which is making it useless! Apparently app deciding on language to use depending on the region of your phone. Funny enough my phone language is English and my region is UK but app decided to make it German for some reason. Even if I speak German doesn’t mean I want my app be German! Btw for over a year Twitter is full of complaints about same issue around over the world and developing team hasn’t bothered at all to fix it that’s why one star. ✓ Great Tool for Oral Hygiene Improvement!If ever there was a time to describe something as being “extra”, a toothbrush that connects to an app on your phone is it. That said, I LOVE this feature! I am a total freak about doing things with thoroughly and with precision. My oral hygiene has always been lacking (not flossing/brushing as often as I’m “supposed” to, etc.), but this app has totally helped get my oral health back on track! The fact that it shows me where to brush and for how long makes me feel like I’m giving all targeted areas an equal amount of time without rushing through to beat the clock. I also enjoy that you can totally tailor your oral hygiene needs to YOU, using their “journey” feature, which you can set up with the dental professional in your life so you know which areas you need to better focus on. The daily reminders to floss and rinse are a total bonus as well, at least for a previous non-flosser, like myself. The only thing I don’t LOVE about this app is the position detector. It’s awesome in theory, but I often feel like I’ll be brushing one part of my mouth, while the app says I’m on a different part. But honestly, the sheer fact that my TOOTHBRUSH can sense that at all is pretty astounding. If you’re looking for ways to up your oral hygiene game, this is the app for you!.Version: 5.1.0

I have reset couple of times, uninstalled and installed the app but still same issue. Also the overpressure is not sensitive enough, it would only turn red if I really push that hard. ✓ Great app, could use a little bit of work thoAbout three days ago, i purchased two oral-b toothbrushes at my local costco which have five different modes on it: daily clean, intense clean, sensitive, gum care, and tongue clean. the first day i used it, it was perfectly fine. worked ‘like a charm’, you could say. the next day worked fine too, but it barely tracked my face. it took a LOT of time to get it to go to the right spot. the next few days were the same, until today i used it, and it barely tracked my brushing!! i use this app because i am lazy, and this motivates me to brush my teeth. but now that it doesn’t work as good as it is supposed to, i feel discouraged. it will stay only on my lower teeth. i lift the camera in every which way, yet it still doesn’t budge from there. once in a blue moon though, it will flash up to my top teeth and brush them. i feel that the camera tracking could use more work, but otherwise, great app!.Version: 9.3.1
✓ Great appOral B app without login is good but I’m excited for the developers to get the login working so I can actually connect my new toothbrush to the app and get more feedback on my brushing (sides of teeth, etc) shown in the app preview pics in App Store. This is why I bought the brush and I may ask for a refund if they can’t get this working. Edit: they’ve fixed the login issue and the app is by all means great. My one gripe is that the marketing material suggested real time feedback showing which teeth and even sides of teeth were getting brushed. It’s not that sophisticated. In focused care mode you can add more time to parts of mouth. The app provides the direction to hit those w brushing -not real-time feedback as to whether you are actually hitting all your teeth for the right amount of time or not. ✓ Amazing appMy mom works in dental and had been telling me I should probably be using an electric toothbrush. She ended up buying me one for the holidays in 2018. I lived with roommates and shared a bathroom and didn’t end up putting the phone holder suction onto the mirror. My fiancé unexpectedly passed away and I had to move back home. I packed my toothbrush away and didn’t use it for over a year. Anyway, I just started using it again the other night and set up the phone holder. I am obsessed. I am a person who has always taken exceptional care of my teeth, but I wanted to do even better. I am chronically ill and get very tired at night when it comes time to brush my teeth, but I force myself. ✓ Brushing made funI received the Oral B toothbrush from my son for Christmas and love it. I have previously owned the Philips sonicare which suddenly stopped working and I saw the offer for this toothbrush on Black Friday. The App works perfectly with my iPhone 7 which always has the updated version. I put my phone on the holder and start brushing. I love the different brushing methods and challenges it sets. I find now I brush my teeth for the required 2 minutes and then another minute whitening my teeth - and they feel truly wonderful afterwards. It also reminds me to clean my tongue which I never did and also to floss which I used to do but not frequently enough. I love when I’m brushing my teeth that the app tells me the weather, appointments I have that day, news. The 2 minutes fly by! I love it and would highly recommend this toothbrush..Version: 5.0.1

✓ Latest update has greatly reduced functionalityIt used to be that starting a brushing session would wake the phone. Then that stopped. NOW, even worse, when you wake the phone after starting the session, it doesn’t count what you already did and the timer resets itself to zero! So frustrating. Please rectify. Going back to original functionality would be best so that starting to brush wakes the phone, but definitely remove the bug that nullifies what you may already have done when the app opens! Clarification as requested: the timer starts to register the brushing session and gets as far as 5/6 seconds THEN there is a small sound, it pauses and then reverts to zero. I always brush for over 2 minutes. iPhone XR, iOS 12.3. Thanks Further update: having been on a 10 day media detox I did not sync my toothbrush with my phone until I returned. What I find is that the brushing sessions have all synced but none of the other data so I suddenly have a broken record for flossing and tongue cleaning. ✓ Am I doing something wrong?I am so happy to have this brush, especially taking into account that I’m wearing aligners, so therefore the attachments as braces need more treatment rather than simple daily cleaning. The point of disappointment is that whatever I do: cleaning my teeth for more than 4 minutes, changing directions, don’t changing direction for more than 30 sec, the app shows me only 1% or 4% of cleaning? Can you help me please to understand, what is wrong? Another thing, I’m writing to is how does the app identify the language? When I launched the app, it even didn’t ask me the region I live and the language I speak😊 I can’t say, that I don’t know the language the app has chosen. ✓ Good app upgrade, bad migration, welcomed response.I’d like to thank the Oral B team for getting in touch however I contacted you through email a few days before a developer had messaged me through Apple in response to my old review. I can finally login but sadly not knowing I shouldn’t have deleted the app I have lost my data. So I have come to the realisation that I will have to start again, though I have not lost anything through Apple Health app. Also my data didn’t sync with the cloud at least I thought it was saved to oral-b so if I lost my phone for example I could get it back. It’s good to get it running again. The new update was quite a surprise and I think a warning message should have been made to users in the old app about the logout/login issue and don’t delete app in the old version before releasing this new version. I will give the app and devs 4 stars for getting back and for the new improved app however the lost star signifies the fact data wasn’t uploaded up to the cloud for these kind of reasons..Version: 8.0.2
✓ Wow! Made brushing fun againI got this brush today and it has already been used multiple times, the interactive screen the toothbrush has is not only fun but educational as well as helpful, I am on my whitening journey which limits me to two of the five brushing modes. With its Bluetooth connection to the app it both counts how long I’ve brushed on the brush and on my phone, the light at the neck has many colours for me to choose from which is incredibly nice. When I brush it shows me how good I brushed on each part of my mouth by showing every tooth getting whiter and whiter as I brush that area. My phone tells me when I’m putting to much pressure on my teeth and so does the brush by shining red instead of my chosen colour. The app comes with many features that are helpful and I already feel my teeth getting whiter! Even though I wrote a lot this is only half of what the brush and app does. ✓ Sync bug finally fixedUpdate The latest version 8.2.2 has finally fixed the sync bug. My brush is smart again. Hope this doesn’t happen again. Despite recent updates even to 8.2.1, I still can’t sync brushing sessions with the app. I really wondering why I bothered spending £250 on a toothbrush that’s not smart. I’m now using the very latest version updated today - November 28th. This has become beyond frustrating, and whilst the brush is very good, I’ll now be seeking a refund. Avoid if you want a smart brush. The Issue: I have an M9 -Sonos - the very best (and most expensive) brush and ‘unguided’ sessions just don’t appear in the history tab, although it looks like it’s syncing with the sync arrows turning for a good few seconds. What I’ve done: I’ve tried deleting and reinstalling the app, factory resetting my brush, and I’ve even now got a new phone and still doesn’t download sessions when it syncs. This has happened since Sept 13th, perhaps the iOS update, perhaps an app update. Either way, the brush is no longer smart in any way. I have contacted P&G Customer Services, and they’ve been lovely, but ultimately the issue is not resolved..Version: 8.2.3

✓ Refuses to detect my top left set of teethThe app is stylish, modern and well made. It just refuses to detect me brushing my top left set of teeth. It pairs flawlessly, and does everything else great, but if I can get it to detect this’ll become a 5 star.Version: 8.2.4

✓ Metal piece alignment slightly crooked??I got the new Oral B 8000 and it was in perfect condition. However I’m not sure if it is entirely perfect unless I’m mistaken about how it works haha. I was just wondered why the small metal piece on the toothbrush head was not directly centered when I attach the toothbrush head to the lower body piece of the Oral B 8000, it almost disappears to the left side.. instead being in the center. Then I looked at the oral B 8000 and realized the metal piece that you put inside the toothbrush head was turned slightly to the left. Is it suppose to look like that? I just wanted to make sure... because I felt the sensitivity of the toothbrush reading where I was brushing was a bit delayed or off, was this caused by the metal piece alignment being slight off, or me just needing to apply more pressure.. I just wanted to make sure it was working properly now when I first got it and not have something happen later haha that could have been asked or looked into at the beginning. ✓ Great & Useful app!I recently upgraded my toothbrush from the basic oral-b electric brush to a smart electric brush. I absolutely love this app with the new brush! It is super useful with its daily coaching and how it displays my brushing data, even shares the data with Apples health app. I’m very happy with it overall 😊. For future app updates: I’d highly recommend if the app team can integrate the app with Apple Watch. I’d find it more useful instead of taking my phone to the bathroom everytime for the data to sync. Another things I’d say is about the Bluetooth connection to the phone doesn’t immediately pick up the brush which requires multiple times to restart the app to get the connection. An added bonus would be if there was an Apple Watch complication on the watch faces to launch the app super quickly or just to have a quick glance of my brushing data. 😊Added bonus would be a full range of RGB colour options that would make the brush look extra unique ☺️. Otherwise I absolutely do enjoy this app and if more updates can fix minor issues this would be perfect 😊 Thanks Oral-B team!!.Version: 8.0.5

✓ The App can be frustratingI replaced my 10 year old Oral B electric with the new fancy Io and it’s more expensive brush heads and app that guides your brushing. The brush feels much different than the original oral b—this one must vibrate faster—it tickles much more and generates some sensitivity in parts of my mouth (which I assume is good because it’s revealing tender gum issues). I believe it is doing a better job of more thoroughly cleaning and protecting my teeth and gums. I like the idea of options of sensitive, daily clean, extreme, fun care, etc—though I am unable to detect much difference in the brushing experience on each setting. The reason I’m writing this review is the grading/scoring on the app—IT IS BRUTAL!!! If I brush for 3 minutes, and over pressured for fractions of 2 seconds, ir will say I had 2 seconds of over pressure and ding me anywhere from like 8-18% on my score. The OCD perfectionist in my is going crazy with this. As soon as I see the slightest red I want to turn it off and start over, because i know I’m not getting an “A”. I just don’t get how I could lose 10-20% of my score when the over pressure only accounts for 1% of my brushing time. Shouldn’t I get at least a 98%?!? Also—this deduction is wildly inconsistent. I may lose 4% for a second, or I may lose 12%. What accounts for these discrepancies?!? I have no clue and obviously I hate it, or I would t be typing this review..Version: 9.5.1
