✓ Deceitful updateWas quite happy using ftp on the go until the update rendered my version obsolete and forced me to purchase the activation of a newer version. I am not paying again for something I have purchased. Since when did update mean upgrade? It never gave a warning. ✓ Good but has a problemI really like the power of FTP On the Go. But for some of my longer files, it no longer works. If I try to hit return to add a new line in my HTML, or try to paste in more than one line, the app crashes. These are files I maintain with FTP On the Go on my iPad, and on UltraEdit on my PC at home. Cutting and pasting also have a problem, adding a leading space that I have to delete. Another app also adds the leading space; not sure what is going on. But that app at least does not crash..Version: 4.4.2

✓ Loss of function with update!For quite some time this has been my ftp app of choice. Since the latest update I no longer have access to the file management function on my iPad therefore I can't t rename, move, copy or delete a file. This has rendered the app useless for my requirements . The update on iPhone 5 still works fine but as I use the iPad most of the time this is very annoying. ✓ Smart & capable despite some hiccups & ageA couple of small bugs can make the app appear broken (see below), yet it's largely more capable than the popular and polished Textastic. The workarounds that keep it working for me: • When it appears to crash on launch, I'm able to get into it via the app switcher. • [UPDATE: This appears to be fixed in the 4 March 2018 update.) A file can appear almost entirely blank, showing nothing but its first line; momentarily rotating the device fixes this for me. The app's functions are more customizable and robust than those of Textastic. FTPOnTheGo Pro has simpler, less-confusing directory navigation than Textastic 5.3.1 on iPhone (where the file-transfer and local-files views can be readily mistaken for one another), and simple edits to a remote file needn't involve fussing with a local copy as Textastic requires. (Textastic also requires more care to make sure a file gets uploaded to the correct location—!) On the other hand, updates have been quite rare, while Textastic has smoother performance and a more pleasant editing environment, plus some support for VoiceOver. In version 4.4.2 my Dropbox connection isn't working. FTP On The Go PRO has a good FTP toolkit. If and when those bugs are fixed and it has a little more polish (better VoiceOver integration, more sharing options, etc.) I'll be happy to give it five stars..Version: 4.4.2

✓ Stopped working. No response from customer support!I used to love using this app both on my iPad and iPhone. For some reason, it has just stopped working properly. The site directory doesn't appear when logging in, unless you press the refresh button. However, I can no long upload or download files. It just hangs on all communication operations. Unfortunately, I haven't had a response from customer support (contacted them twice now), so I had to make a change to Coda. ✓ Broken photo edits in ios11I have had this app for years, use it very very regularly and it is been great, but in recent iOS versions yet no longer edits photos properly. If you try to do a crop, it will crop not what you have seen on the screen but some different selection. ✓ Won’t FTPI really want to like this app, because it does exactly what I need to do - that is, modify dropbox files and then FTP them to my server. I’ve used older versions of this app with no problems. But this version simply doesn’t work - it won’t FTP my files. Seems like a basic function, given the app’s name. However, all I get are timeout errors when I try to FTP files to my server, no matter what the app's settings are. Any other FTP app has no problem. I don’t recommend this version, especially since you won’t find this out until after your spend your cash on the upgrade, and then you’re out of luck..Version: 4.3.1

✓ Wish I could see two file browsersMost of the screen real estate is spent on a web browser that I don't need. What I do need is to see my local saved files in one column and the files on the server in the other. Not possible. Can't even resize the one column that does show all your files. ✓ An Upgrade With Problems........There was a time when "FTP On The Go - Pro" was arguably the best FTP App around. Sadly this has changed. This version has bugs and is near impossible to use. Fortunately, there's a good selection of free alternatives out there. After weeks of my iPad Air hanging up followed by a crash of the App and then its total failure to save edited files back to the server, I've decided "no more". The first "freebie" I found is just as functional - as are a couple of others I tested. So.... It was good while it lasted but the product has had its day..Version: 4.3.2

Apparently you have to “activate” the feature which actually means buy the pro version as what you confirm to “active” takes you straight to buy the other app with dialogue box asking to confirm to pay $$$.
