✓ CleverThis was an entertaining game. I liked the in-game photo feature, that was helpful. Puzzles were just challenging enough. The last one was not great. I had to look up a walk-through to realize I had already solved it and didn’t realize it. That was frustrating. Still a good enough game that I will check out the paid apps by this developer. ✓ Fun and made senseI’ve already done Forever Lost x 3 but then I found this free so it was a cool little adventure thanks. None of the puzzles were super maddening (unlike some in FL3…), they made logical sense lmao, only issue is the computer screen puzzle was not doing anything for me so I had to resort to hints just to work out that no, it is actually buggy, and just kept randomly mashing and dragging until I got a few things happening..Version: 1.5.1
✓ Fun, with only 1 or 2 screwy partsThis is a really good game in general. I loved almost all of it, and I enjoyed solving all the puzzles, with 2 exceptions. (Spoilers) 1 was finding the stuff under the bed, because I clicked all around the bed and never saw that screen until I checked a walkthrough that told me to click exactly under the bed (and I thought I had before). One of my pet peeves is missing something because although I've checked _almost_ everywhere, I didn't check _exactly_ the right spot. 2 was the computer puzzle. At first I didn't know I could drag the icons, because those are the only things in the game you can click and drag. Once a walkthrough told me that, I "used the hammer on the box", but I just got "access denied". So I figured that was the wrong way to solve the problem. I moved the hammer and every other icon everywhere on the screen, but of course nothing happened. My problem understanding that moving an icon somewhere, and then a metal-and-glass box in another room picking that up is that computers don't work that way, and it's unlike every other puzzle in the game in that it doesn't tell you immediately if you got it right or wrong. ✓ Pretty goodThis is the first of the "Forever Lost" games I've played. I was really impressed on how well thought out the game was, but also disappointed because I felt like they may have cut a corner when they said that her husband was doing this to "give her brain exercises". I thought this was pretty tacky. This game was challenging enough that I didn't feel that the game was just lame. I have encountered plenty of games that I can just breeze through. Yet, it wasn't so hard that I just gave up. This game was, again, very well thought out and I liked how you find out a little more about Alice and Jason's story little bit by little bit. ✓ Fabulous!!I wanted to find something a little different to do on my iPhone, and absolutely love anything that involves puzzles and having to use your mind defined clues that are "outside of the box". When I downloaded this app, I was only going to play for about an hour – I had students to prepare for as a private tutor. The game was so mesmerizing, so realistic and fun, that three hours later I had to rush to get to my tutoring sessions. I had solved all but one little piece before I left – the box over the fireplace. I figured it had to do with what was on the computer; I was right, and finally figured it out this morning. ✓ The developers still care about their gamesIt’s honest crazy this game still gets updated granted it’s not like new content but they still manage to make playable after so many years I remember getting this game when I was around high school that was 6+ years or so and last I check they updated to fix some bugs A MONTH AGO. ✓ Nice but the last puzzle....It was fun the puzzles were interesting. The hammer puzzle though was confusing and had no correlation with the actual puzzle. If you are looking through the review trying to find the answer to that one- you go to the computer and drag the settings icon onto the box that’s on screen. Then you go back to the ACTUAL box and it’s open. I feel like they just threw that in there without a second thought which is disappointing. ✓ Fun againI started playing this game and then remembered that I had played it once before, but it’s been long enough that I still enjoyed it (although the familiarity might have made the puzzles a little easier to solve this time, obviously). Regardless, it’s a well-made short adventure with moderately challenging puzzles, an engaging atmosphere and a nice beginning storyline. Any perceived ‘lack’ where graphics is concerned is compensated for by a very tidy user experience. ✓ What does the title line do anyway?Good game but some tutorial would be helpful. I didn’t know how to use objects. Things I thought I had tried to open didn’t open correctly. I had the general idea but when I tried things and they didn’t work I thought my hunch was wrong and I got nowhere. I don’t know if it was my fumbling or the interface but I had to resort to googling how to play and someone did the whole thing step by step. ✓ Great game all round except length!This is the one game that shocked me with its exceptional level of attention to detail and quality. The graphics are good and the style of play is excellent. It seems as though a lot of time and thought has gone into this escape. All of the challenges are linked and relevant, they are thought provoking yet completable. This game is free but only the one platform that is originally set in, further levels which are expected after leaving the main set do not exist. It dos offer a continuation but leads you to another app which is at a price, if it was longer I would have paid it despite having the option of choosing other free apps of a similar nature but I cannot justify the cost with the amount of game play unfortunately!! ✓ 3.5 stars actuallyDecent for a free game even if it is a bit short. What don't I like about it? Well, the graphics are 'acceptable' i.e. nothing special. Plus it's all a bit static (you can't scroll around a room, for instance, you just have one view and that's it). And the controls are a bit clunky - simply a back button and that's it. Good things? Well, it's free obviously. Some of the clues are quite well thought out. Would I buy the pay-for apps? I'm not sure, to be honest. I'd want to know that they were a lot longer than this free version and, judging by some of the comments, I'm not sure they are. But, what's the biggest problem? That's easy...once you've played The Room series none of these other games match up to it in terms of graphics, 'story', playability, and general quality. ✓ Intuitive challenging funI play a lot of point and click games and some or so frustrating because they make no logical sense and the clues are so obscure no normal human could draw the connection between it and the puzzle it's meant to help you solve. I have 5 rules for a point and click game to be excellent. 1: Is it intuitive? Do the clues need cleverness and logic to solve. Not schizophrenic logic. 2: Does it have a camera or note taking system to record your clues. To not provide an iPhone or iPad player a way to record the clues, what's the point of playing it on a small device you hold in your hand? Do you also need to carry a little notebook and whip it to record your own clues? A game should have everything a player needs to play the game strictly on their device. 3: Are the puzzles varied and challenging? Not impossible. I like to think and solve and don't mind if they're challenging and take me more than a few tries. But to make one so hard to solve that it's the first thing in the search bar when you google the solution seems anti-user friendly. 4: Is navigation easy and intuitive? 5: How good are the graphics, sound and music? If the work is gorgeous and the sound and music great, it pulls you into the world and thus gives you a great escape from the stress of life for an hour. This game hits all five. And the computer, on Alice's file, froze up, then unfroze after a few minutes. Did that at least twice. ✓ Awesome game!First of all, I *love* the creepyish vibe of this game. Love the sound effects, they're not too much or too little. It took me about 45 min to complete- no instructions, you just start. It requires you to use critical thinking skills and get creative, and it's a good feeling when you figure out a puzzle. This is one of the most intricate and solvable escape games I've ever played-- it crashes quite frequently but doesn't lose your progress when it restarts. If I don't get the number and color clues right away, sometimes it's easier to run a manual factorial algorithm on it-- tedious, but what else better to do watching the tube..??.. The only thing that didn’t seem to “work out” was the size matters game. I understood the reference, but it didn’t open the box. I actually got it right, but didn’t know it. there needs to be something that lets you know you unlocked a clue. I bought the hint just for it to tell me something I already did right, haha! ✓ Really, really enjoyable series!Definitely worth the money. I played this game through Forever Lost 3. Puzzles were challenging, not impossible and the story was kind of vague and creepy but not so detailed it overpowered the game. I also like that there were some puzzles with clues that were not very clear cut. Subtle observation and thinking were required to make it through. A hint system is available to help nudge you along, but doesn't give you the answers. In the later episodes it is integrated into the game controls, which worked nicely. The connections to puzzles had a good flow and made sense to the player even if you had to think about it for awhile. The last cross however was not logical nor did it make sense. I actually like this game more than FL1 (which I paid for). This game is a good introduction to the gameplay. The puzzles are challenging and the game is quite long for a free version...it probably took me 90 min or more. I see now the hints are available for $0.99, but I didn't need them. The "world" is small enough that I was able to puzzle things out for myself (with a little patience). However, I was irritated by the glitch that kept causing the App Store to pop up and ask me to purchase the ads-free game. It popped up about 10 times even though I kept clicking “cancel”. Another glitch is that the suitcase, camera and other tools kept disappearing for no clear way to get them to reappear. I kept having to clear out the app and restart to get them to reappear. ✓ Bought the Whole Series... Glitch games I am HOOKED!! After trying a few click and find games (never knew they existed until recently 😂) I wanted to see if I could find some good ones to keep myself preoccupied throughout the day so I stumbled upon Cabin Escape. BEYOND what I was looking for! This RPG feel + stunning graphics (nothing too over the top like unnecessary 3D graphics), made it even better. The puzzles were difficult, yet with time and patience, solvable. I ended up downloading the whole series. What started out as me wanting to find a game that I could use "throughout the day", I ended up getting so hooked into this whole series that I set time aside to play them. Brilliant! I am now a fan of Glitch Games and will buy whatever new they come out with! Now that I'm done with this series, I have a hard time enjoying every other click and find game I download.
