✓ One simple change would make huge differenceThe app only gives a 6-digit grid reference ie to +/-50 metres in each axis. I want to use it for recording wildlife survey sites and this is useless - I need a 10-digit location (even though it may have a degree of false precision). It would be such a simple option to add. So I downloaded the app called OS GPS instead - gives me exactly what I need for £0.99 :).ARC202Version: 1.3

I used it last on my coast to coast trip from st bees to Robin hoods bay, working well most of the time,I did loose the signal shortly after leaving Kirby stephens in the middle of the wilds, and had wanted to check my grid reference against a paper map which would have helped with location! ✓ 10 figure please?The OS maps app (which I’m a paid subscriber) gives a 10 figure grid reference, this app however stops at 6, which, unless I’m wrong is a potential difference in accuracy of 100 metres! I’m looking for a simple Apple Watch app to display my current location in (BNG) to use in conjunction with my explorer maps whilst out walking. Is there a reason for the difference in accuracy between your two apps? To have a simple display with gps accuracy and grid reference literally ‘to hand’ and be able to leave the phone in the backpack all day would be a godsend..Crazyhazy123Version: 1.4.1

✓ Not AccurateThe app is not accurate. I downloaded the app and I tested it to see if it is accurate with one of my friends. We placed our mobile phones next to each other on the table and on my friend's phone it showed a different 6-figure grid reference to what mine showed. ✓ Watch app missingMy navigation is pretty good but out Paddleboarding today after a long crossing to a featureless bit of coast. For the first time in ages I’d have really welcomed a grid reference. Spent a good 5 minutes scratching my head trying to work out why I couldn’t find os locate on my Apple Watch. In the end we just di a bit more trad navigation and moved location to get a better sight on another feature so no harm done. This evening I discover the watch app has been out of action for 10 months and still not fixed. Looking for an alternative....MuddlingaboutVersion: 1.5

✓ What’s the point of a compass that doesn’t point North?This piece of junk software, masquerading as a compass app is just rubbish! Most times it does not point north. If you reboot your phone (iPhone 11 running iOS 16.1 in my case) then it will point North - until the next time you need it. Shame! It’s a great looking app..Pja2536Version: 1.6.2

✓ BUG REPORT: Compass points 90 degrees out in landscape modeApple iOS allows you to rotate an iPhone app running on an iPad, so that it appears “the right way up” even when your iPad is in landscape (horizontal) orientation. The compass in OS locate points north correctly when used in portrait mode, but when you rotate your device to the horizontal, it no longer points north (pointing either east or west instead depending on which way round your iPad is). This is potentially very dangerous - please fix it! Otherwise, what a great app. being able to get an accurate grid reference on demand is brilliant..BardolphusVersion: 1.6.1

✓ Apple WatchI acquired an Apple Watch recently and was pleasantly surprised when I saw I could add OS locate to my watch for quick grid reference checks. ✓ Looks good but limitationsReally like the look of this app. Quick clean and simple screens. I have two issues however. Firstly it only goes to 6 figure grid ref, whereas my mapping app of choice will give 10 digit ref. Secondly It only seems to work for GB grid, however I am in Northern Ireland which is part of the UK, so no use here. I appreciate that there may be issues as the whole of Ireland uses Irish Grid but surely easy enough to sort out. Again, my map app of choice can sort this as can any cheap dedicated gps unit. Sort these two things out and I will give it 5 stars..HillhoundVersion: 1.5
