I love the game - 10.5 out of 10 - but deleted it after hours of respecing and dealing with utter cheese time and again on area 9. Do get it if you're an OCD gamer whose stats are completely maxed at every equipment change. ✓ Beautiful with flawsMight not be satisfactory for those who have experienced the old Sonny, with a compelling but as a standalone game, proved itself to be a stronger and fitter reanimation of the long dead genre of arcade gaming. Storyline is amazing (definitely fresh air to a familiar set of characters, so im not replaying the same game). Character designs have become better drawn, but far more generic than the old timeless and undying design of Sonny's character Roster. However, the music and environmental design vastly improved. This was clearly not made to impress the fans, this game is something else completely different. It is a revisit to a long dead style of games, and an outstanding presentation of the timeless format. To fans, dont let it detract you from the fact Krin has worked hard and made it through with a new game. ✓ Wonderful remix!I have to say, Armor Games did a great job when turning Sonny into a mobile app! It follows everything you'd expect, blending common app aspects and the original game. For those familiar to the desktop games, it keeps Veracruz as your second ally, after Louis dies on the ship (again). Also, it split up the classes into 6 types - psychological is now shadow and electrical, hydraulic is now ice and fire, and pathological is now physical and nature. However, this game kept the difficulty curve while adding new sectors and allies, added a new plot line, and switched to permanent avatars. Overall, a new look at Sonny, and with keeping some new music while adding old, I have to say I love it!.Version: 1.4.2

✓ Great Game, Lives up to PCI have probably played Sonny 1 and Sonny 2 on the PC more times than I can count on both hands. And this mobile game is no exception. The story is captivating(albeit some things have changed) and the artwork is incredible. My only gripes so far is that leveling seems to take quite a long time, and grinding bosses for items drops is non-existent. The items seem weak and not very effective, even with the leveling for them. The A.I for the teammates is great through, and the enemies take time to learn how to fight them. Over all the game is very well produced. The leveling and items could be tweaked, as well as some of the ridiculous strengths of the enemies..Version: 2.0.20

✓ Fantastic!I originally started with the original flash Sonny games back when I was younger and I loved those. The combat was fair and sometimes challenging. But as for this iOS version, it is very similar to the original. It also adds its own faster paced type of gameplay that is very fluid. The skill progression feels good as well. It’s probably not a big deal to most but I’m curious to know in this day and age why this game doesn’t have the full voice overs and also the weapons and armour aren’t represented visually on characters. ✓ Loved every minuteWell worth a play. Not sure if it's canon or not. But loved it all the same. Some recommendations though 1. Like in previous games it would be fun to reface bosses for purple loot. Make it a rare drop or something, but would add another element. 2. ✓ Sonny for IOSSonny 1 was a big part of my childhood and I remember countless hours of me and my friends trying to get to the next stage and finding out where that tape originated from. Needless to say Sonny 2 was also a massive thing for me when it came out, and I’ve been wanting a sequel since back then. I guess this would be classed as a soft reboot as many characters, abilities and even voice queues are similar if not the same as the original game - love that. There is also a fresh twist which I’m enjoying also and brings Sonny to the App Store demographic whilst also having a fresh story which will peak both new and old fans of the series alike. The lack of pay to play is refreshing - especially for a free to play game (would happily pay 4.99 for this game purely for nostalgic value alone). Gameplay is also slick as the original, with tweaks making it easier to see ability effects and comrade ai is strong also. In short, pick this up, can’t praise this game highly enough! ✓ Exactly like the old daysIt plays just like it used to, the gameplay is still fun, and now it’s free! Granted that means ads were introduced, however, they’re completely optional. You can play this whole game without seeing a random ad. Any you do see is from you accepting one. Unlike virtually every other free game, you aren’t going to be stopped every five seconds to see an ad. None of the awful “tap no thanks to not watch an ad for this bonus!” Then getting an ad anyway. ✓ Amazing Reboot to the series!I’ve adored Sonny ever since I was a young boy sneaking an extra half hour on the computer without my parents finding out, I played through both Sonny & Sonny 2 more times than I can count and still return to play through once every few weeks. When I began playing this, at first I missed the style of the first two. However, this new style has really grown on me. The protagonists look superb and the enemies are all diverse. The story is both disappointing and wonderful. It’s a bit disappointing to see the old story abandoned, yet I find this nee story JUST AS intriguing and amazing as the previous. This isn’t the Sonny 3 I was hoping for, yet I find myself adoring the game nonetheless. ✓ Would be a 5, but...... there seems to be a bug with the achievement system. I’ve finished the game multiple times and am now focused on trying to get every one of the achievements. I have gone through, multiple times, completing several achievements, only to see them disappear after moving forward through several stages beyond acquiring that particular goal. The most notable ones are: art of combo, r & d, augmentation, watch the world burn and spellbreaker. I am not sure if it is because I am using slot 3 for the game, or if it is some other strange issue, but it’s very consistent (and annoying)..Version: 2.0.20

The challenge of outmaneuvering or outsmarting the monsters and bosses is absolutely fun. ✓ It's great! But...This game is great, I love every aspect of it 1. Detailed art to expand on the awesome story this game has 2. Great gameplay that even CoD players would get intrigued in 3. Expands on the original game and makes it more immersive But... This game is based on the original Sonny on Armor Games, and remaking a game makes you wanna compare it to the original. So I went back to play the original and if you don't mind the not as detailed graphics then the original is WAY better. 1. In the original Sonny, every time you equip a new piece of armor it changes the character model, unlike Sonny iOS 2. It has full voice acting! The original Sonny was a flash game and they fully voice acted every line in the game, unlike Sonny iOS 3. The original Sonny also had battle animations that immersed us more, unlike Sonny iOS Although these things weren't game changing, it was these little details that fully immersed us players. In my opinion they should've made a Sonny 3 but I couldn't make those choices. ✓ If you loved the flash games, you’ll love this.The two biggest complaints I see from og fans are that this game is too different from the original, or too hard. First of all, while I did like the Sonny 2 classes best, I don’t have anything against Krin trying new things, and I think the system still works well. As far as difficulty, this game is beatable on legend with only physical strain, so while there are definitely frustrating bosses (Brixius), it’s definitely manageable. Overall, this game didn’t do anything groundbreaking, and it didn’t need to. It delivered a fun and interesting turn based RPG centered around everyone’s favorite zombie.Version: 2.0.20

✓ Great remake overallAnyone who played the original Sonny and its sequel will probably love this game. It’s an interesting take on the story that combines elements from both games. The combat is better than ever, except towards the end of the game the fights get a little bit too gimmicky. The art style and cutscenes are great as well, and the cast of characters is certainly an improvement from the original two. The only real gripe with this game is that unlike the originals, equipping different gear doesn’t change your character’s appearance, not all of the lines of dialogue are fully voice acted, and the character models don’t actually move, they are images essentially. ✓ Not your father's Sonny…As a die hard fan of the original Sonny and Sonny 2, I was ready beyond belief for this game. I was initially disheartened by the fact that it was coming to iOS and not on PC, and even more disheartened when my old terrible phone couldn't play it. But now that I have a better device and have been able to play this game, I can honestly say that I've enjoyed it so far. My complaints are rather similar to my peers (too difficult, no cosmetic change with equipment, etc.) but I've still enjoyed my time with it up to this point. My only real suggestions would be to increase how much money you got from every fight, and just make pretty much every enemy beyond zone 3 easier to fight (lower health, lower damage, etc). I know I'm a little late to the party, but I do hope that these get addressed at some point. Until then, keep up the great work..Version: 1.4.2

✓ Overall a great game.I played the original Sonny and Sonny 2 and this game was phenomenal as I expected from a Sonny game. Great story and more strategic potential with the new strains. My only problem is with the ghost girls in zone 6. They’re so annoying. Their ability to deflect some damage back forced me to use a passive ability set which I really don’t like to do. ✓ Great Game!The gameplay was fun and challenging, the story was well-crafted, and Veradux was as humorous as ever. Just to toot my own horn, I did beat the game in 2 days. That being said I would not call the game easy. I admit that Blackhall Keep and the last 3 levels of The Red Pillars were a doozy, but not impossible like most “baby ragers” make them out to be. That being said, I wish there were more content and control over character building (i.e. stat points). ✓ Good, but a let down from the originalI loved the OG Sonny (and Sonny 2) when I played the flash version. It was easily my favorite flash game. While I am so happy that it’s made it to IOS, I think there are two major pitfalls: 1- No attack animations: Sonny is just this default being that punches with his first. One of the things I loved about the last game was the customization, yet weapons and armor do not even appear on your characters. Which leads to the second point. 2- No armor/weapon visuals: throughout the game, there is no visual indication of Sonny becoming more bad*ss. This was one of the best parts of the last game. I think this version will gain a lot by reintegrating armor visuals on the characters. The designs in the flash games were so good! It always provided great satisfaction to progress and acquire new and better armor/weapons. Now, without the visualization of new armor, I feel like there is nowhere near that same amount of satisfaction Devs, please stick to your roots here! What’s the point of getting better and sicker armor and weapons if you can’t even see them?? I hope you consider this in an upcoming update, and I will edit my review accordingly. ✓ I can believe this is freeThis is a 100% free to play game with NO IN APP PURCHASES! I’m not saying “they aren’t necessary to win” I’m saying they don’t even exist! There are also NO ADS! The only ads in the whole game are 100% optional and give you a small reward for watching- but again they are 100% optional. There is a great of both enemies and abilities allowing for a large variety of strategies to be employed. The remade music is also really well made making fights that bit more exciting. The only classes that seem decent are the physical strain and the fire strain. Speed is still an overpowered and unbalanced stat like in the other Sonny games. Wish there was some better class abilities that would actually be effective in battle in most of the strains and better upgrades for those skills instead of +5% damage here and there which doesn't make much of a difference. ✓ Not ready to give a 5 ⭐️ ratingI read a bunch of bad reviews, but gotta say, a little patience at the beginning and lvl 2 is a cinch! And once you get how it works, it is really addictive. The story line is awesome, tongue in cheek cute, and honestly, the most important? I FINALLY found a true SRPG game. I hate wars and cheats and hacks and bullies and hatred found on ALL games nowadays. I searched for months and found THIS! I am only on story board 4. And no mention of joining guilds, or “be one with war”. “Hurt your fellow humans and laugh about it to the world. Maybe later it will ruin my euphoria, with a new (unwanted) need to join others, but for now, thank you. Only 1 issue that needs addressing and another that irks me. First, there really needs to be a settings tab for “contact us” and share on FB, Twitter, etc. Second tho, I really hate all the ads I have watch to get only 20% more exp or gold. ✓ Sonny 3 !We all know this really is sonny 3, been a fan since sonny 1 and was always checking the devs twitter for the release of this app. Finally I can play sonny on my phone. The devs have really made this game dead easy compared to when it first came out. ✓ Been Waiting 4 This!Sonny was hands down my favorite game from years ago. I was a little worried with this upgrade, not sure if I would like the changes. But it’s great! It’s still a great story line and it’s still frustratingly ridiculous in some levels! Was on a level for at least a month. But that’s what makes Sonny great! ✓ Great!Great game! Was a huge fan of the original. And when I saw it was available on iOS, I jumped right on it! Some minor things are disappointing(no weapon/armor appearance changes) but it’s still playable. Haven’t made it far. But the difficulty and everything is just right. My only real complaint, I have no sound. I went under the options menu. And sound and music are both enabled. And the volume is turned up on my phone. There’s just nothing coming out..Version: 2.0.20
✓ Using Right Skill & Equipment is ImportantI’ve beaten the game 3 times as Legend (without any training) using different strains each time so I can say it’s possible to beat the game with any strain. It’s an awesome strategy game! The important thing is to use the right skill set tailored to the enemies you’re facing for that round so be prepared to respec your skill set whenever you come across a mini-boss. Also, make sure your using the right set of equipment that complements your skill set. You should expect to upgrade every team members’ equipment at each new location. You shouldn’t waste any money to upgrade the stats on the equipment. The most expensive equipment is not always the best choice. While certain strains will work better with each other, it is not a critical factor in beating the game as Legend. Lastly, picking the right teammates that complement your overall strategy should not be overlooked..Version: 2.0.20
✓ Great game However it has potential to improveJust le the other reviews. I am a huge fan of the Sony Pc version. This game is great, and has a very good story. However the abilities and skill trees aren’t very balanced. On my first play through I chose nature and ended up dying every 20 minutes and by the time I got to act 2 I was forced to delete my progress. On my second play through I chose rock. Rock has great armor but it’s attacks aren’t good enough for later content past act 1 1/2. So then I had to go back a third time and now I’m stuck with lightning which so far has worked out for the best. But then again why should you even get to choose if players are going to have to go back and replay the whole thing. So even though I love this game, I would probably suggest to the developers to make a semi extensive Rebalancing Update. But besides those issues the game is great and Like I said above I love the Sonny games. I also eagerly wait to reach the next chapter in the story. Abarmicor..Version: 2.0.20

Bosses are so much harder than the normal stages it’s ridiculous, and after act 6 it just gets unforgivably hard unless you have the right evolution trees, which by the way are impossible to base on your past gameplay, it changes up way too fast without any indication. Don’t go lightning tree, expect to get hard stuck at acts 6 and 8, but other than that good game. Nice visuals, voiceover, good idea, but the numbers are bad and will never be balanced. 8/10, should have an evolution reset option and a wider choice of move evolutions..Version: 2.0.20

✓ A fun game for experienced RPG players familiar with the genre.I bought this game wanting a high quality role playing game with classic turn based elements. The game has delivered on all of the points that define an RPG including fun gameplay, a good story, and characters with there own personality. The only complaint I have about this game is that I have not been able to find a difficulty setting for newer players. ✓ Could be betterSonny was amazing when I played it on the PC as a kid. But this doesn't have the same feel as it did on PC. Don't get me wrong this is an amazing game and i'm glad they brought it to IOS along with them keeping the soundtrack, but i'd love it if you could see the gear you Equip during a battle. If you’re having difficulty, try the ice tree for the best stuns + second best healing, the darkness branch for the best (and absolutely necessary) debuffs/buffs, or the fire path for intense burst damage. ✓ Staying true to SonnyHonestly, I’ve been looking for a game like this for a long time. I think the difficulty is great! It forces you to respec often to try different builds, avoiding the “optimal build” dilemma. Once you find the op build for your area, you just glide right through, it’s super satisfying. The story reminds me of the original Sonny’s in just the right way. I’m excited to try shadow + lightning on my third play through..Version: 2.0.20

✓ Great gameI don't normally write reviews but Sonny was one of the best games I played on pc when I was younger and this app is amazing. The difficulty of this game is what makes it amazing to me. You will have to reset your skill points several times through the game once you get to certain fights to rearrange your strategy for the fight. What's good about this is you can afford to reset abilities just by the money you receive from one training battle so it's isn't a strain resetting. It's a shame about there not being any change in appearance with new gear equipped but this game is still a solid 5/5 for me. Great level of difficulty so you can't just fly through the game in a hour or 2..Version: 1.0.4
✓ Satisfying ChangesI've loved the Sonny franchise with the combination and grinding, story, lovable characters, and awesome combat. This being the 3rd installment does not disappoint. With same nostalgic beginning and new characters and story this game felt more difficult compared to Sonny 2 and loss difficult compared to Sonny 1. This blend let me get a lot of friend who where new to the franchise to play the game. My only grievances are that character customization is lacking visually (even though eventually I liked it and didn't want the characters to look different) and no form changes. Form changes were one of the coolest things of Sonny 2 and it might have not been added because it was unique to that game, but regardless...This was an amazing game and i absolutely can't wait till Sonny 4 comes out!!!.Version: 2.0.20

✓ Pretty solid but…There’s a huuuuuge increase in difficulty when you get to blackhall keep to the point where it’s borderline broken, even after grinding for hours and buying the best gear it’s extremely easy to get stunlocked and die before you get to attack. Aside from that this game is really great; the soundtrack, art style, and overall story definitely hold true to the franchise. (P.s:Just a few more things I would change, when you equip your items in the original sonny, you would see your characters actually wear the items and use the weapons and I really wish that was implemented in this game. In addition, i feel like the allies in the game fell a bit flat, most of the time you only end up using veradux and another one while the other two are stuck levels behind. ✓ Great game!ABSOLUTELY love this game grew up with it and had and still have extreme imaginative ideas and I just want to kind of pour a little bit of ideas about character movements and reactions to dealing and receiving damage in battle, a option to also see the armor worn on all characters (that is compatible with player movements as well) in addition to having the ability to wear armor and have a option in game settings to see them in there default form (including character evolutions.) and last of all just a idea maybe have a pvp battle between actual players that include in app purchases for armor, stamina, currency,and possibly other characters that we can play as.
