Evermusic: cloud music player for Negative User Reviews

Doesn’t work properly outside of my own network and crashes after so long!I can get it to work for a while inside my network - but it kicks me out after so long! Also, it won’t let me play anything unless I am connected to my own wi-fi network - if I connect to any other network or even my own data, it won’t play anything - says it’s not connected when it is! Can’t download tracks for offline listening as the iPad and iPhone has limited storage - I want to be able to play all my music - not just a handful of songs - on a long journey! I am using it in conjunction with a Western Digital EX2 Ultra NAS device!.Version: 4.6

Loved it but now MAJOR BUGSIt loads, doesn’t want to play the music! It loads so so so so much! Never did that before! I payed for the premium version and this is what I get… please fix it!.Version: 5.2

GlitchyI have been using this app for a long time. But the latest updates made the app glitched when I play a song it jumps back. It sounds like a scratched CD back in the days..Version: 5.4

Playlist IssuesWhenever I add music to my playlist it adds it on the bottom of all the files and not the top! I have to go to sort and press (by modification date) 2x and then it will come up on top of all the files. Also recently added files get randomly removed from my playlist after a day or 2 and i have to add them back to the playlist again! Please fix..Version: 5.0

Not usableIt was working fine comparing to other music app in apple store. However since a few weeka ago it stopped working,i cannot play the songs in my list, it will work if i delete and rrload the list, but once i close the app and reopen it they will not be playable anymore.Version: 4.9

Works great, needs watch functionalityI’d give it 5 stars, if it had Watch functionality too.Version: 5.0

MisleadingNot a bad app has a lot of potential, understanding the interface is a bit of a head smash but not the worst. For people trying to download files for offline play um YOU CAN’T,well not unless you upgrade to pro but untill you do that you wont get anywhere, so realy just an app with the potential to do what you wont it to but u have to pay.🙁.Version: 3.9

Near perfect but..Still buggy and a must have feature that’s not available - displaying the audio player on the Lock Screen. When choosing songs, there can be a bit of delay before it actually plays. What I like is that this is not a sub-based app. One time payment of $13.99 is fair for the amount of features it packs. EQ, crossfade, audio tag editor, wifi drive loading, wide variety or cloud storage options to load from as well. I reached out to the devs regarding the Lock Screen player function but no response as yet. Doesn’t look like they are active in the reviews either. It’s a shame. This could’ve been the perfect app for me but that one feature is missing..Version: 5.0

CarPlay needs work. STILL.UPDATE 1: you say that you’ve fixed this, well you haven’t. CarPlay is still rubbish. When I change the equaliser settings on my phone and save them they do not update to the car. Sort CarPlay out it is rubbish and I have paid £10 for this app, if it doesn’t get sorted I’ll ask for a refund from apple. When using CarPlay and trying to connect it to my iPod list (1400 songs, iPhone XS Max) it sometimes comes up with a blank screen as if it can’t pull the songs through. Other times it does pull them through. Also, changing the green slider buttons (enable/disable) doesn’t always show up on the button (although it seems to apply the setting). Needs some work and then this will replace my best other player for in the car. Too many buttons looks cluttered. Should have the option for user to select which buttons they want and hide the ones they don’t use. I’ve paid £9.99 for this and it really needs work done. Not very happy with its issues..Version: 5.2

10 dollars down the drainI purchased this premium version a few months ago, to listen to audio lectures, and I chose it because of one feature, which is a MANUAL PLAYBACK SPEED ADJUSTMENT, which allowed me to speed up or down by 2% increments—and I typically set the playback speed between 112% to 120%, depending on the presenter’s pace of speed. THIS feature was just replaced by 25% increments—to as high as 300%, which means that I can listen at normal speed or chipmunk speed. I used to also be able to access the speed change directly via a tab in the upper right of the screen, whereas now, there are many more steps. This app is TOTALLY WORTHLESS to me now..Version: 6.1

Does not support family sharingReasonable app but let down by not supporting Apple family subscription sharing.Version: 4.3

Good app/starting to bother meIt’s a good app but I’m starting to have trouble with it now. Whenever I download a song it won’t let me skim through it. Whenever I try skipping through it it starts from the beginning again & it’s really making me mad. Please fix it..Version: 4.7

SubstandardSo I’ve had the iPhone for more than a year now, and I can’t believe that of six apps have tried. There’s not a music player that plays your local Files off-line MP3‘s with standard features. This one comes close, but if you have more than 1200 songs saved on the phone, you can only see a portion of them when you scroll down. You see the songs that start with a number and then it goes up to D and then it stops from there. So disappointing. Again this one comes close but I don’t know..Version: 6.1

Help!I use this app everyday and it’s amazing. i download my music from dropbox but lately i’ve been experiencing an error. i download my music to dropbox like normal and when i click to dropbox in the app to download it into my files, it shows up with an error. i’ve tried refreshing it. i’m not sure if it’s the app itself or dropbox but i hope you guys can look into it a bit. i don’t wanna stop using the app because i can’t download any music. thank you.Version: 3.3

BuggyThis was working great with just Dropbox as a source but since adding an SMB share on my local network the app crashes on startup. Presumably when trying to syncronise music folders. So ultimately this has rendered it unusable for me now unless I completely clear local data and lose all my playlists and sources..Version: 4.6

Can’t add files and sync doesn’t workOnce I add one or more files it does not seem to have the ability to add more. The actual button you need to hit to download files to the app disappears if there are any files already in the app. It’s extremely frustrating. What this means is that if I have any files in the app and I want to add more I have to delete everything and then add them all back as one big batch. Also tried the sync feature which apparently does not work. It recognizes that there are 521 files in the Dropbox folder that I selected, but then it just stops. It never actually transfers anything. Last gripe is that it never remembers the last file I was playing. I use this app for language lessons so it would be nice if it would save my place in the playlist..Version: 3.8

No star, don’t buy this appI am very disappointed after made my purchased for this app. Let me tell you why, I spend lot of time downloading songs to this app but all my songs disappear after one month. My playlist did show I have the amount of songs and time length on my playlist but when I click on my playlist, it show No Songs.... zero.. I downloaded all over again and this time it last more than one month and all songs were gone again. The first time I ran into this issue, I email to support and did not getting any support. I emailed again and no response... I wast my money buying this stupid app. So I write the review to let people know DO NOT BUY THIS APP....Version: 4.2

UpdateSince the update the music stops playing every time a lot of bug. Too bad I really liked the app before.Version: 5.2

Don’t play all the songsI been having this app since 2020 and it was fine until not too long ago. Now there’s songs that I can’t listen to because as soon as I click on it it skips it and plays the next song. There’s playlist where half of the songs on it can’t even be played. Fix this asap pls it was already long enough for me to download them I don’t wanna do it again.Version: 5.0

OkI think for all free music players that allow you to connect to your cloud drive, only Evermusic is usable. All others either have really stupid ADs that make their apps unusable or have too many restrictions. That doesn’t mean I have low standards for Evermusic. The problems for Evermusic I have are: 1. Sync takes forever. I only have 185 songs on my cloud drive and I have opened the app to let it synced many times. It’s still not complete. My internet speed is 150mbps. Again, I only have 185 songs. 2. SORT for my music library. The idea is great because I love to be able to sort my music by date. But it doesn’t work. I don’t know what sorting method is implemented behind the scene but results are complete wrong. Is this a feature that only few people use? How come it is still not fixed? Appreciate the free app. Just wanted to point out the frustration..Version: 3.4

Disappointed latelyIn spite of the latest update promising as much, it will still not read m3u playlists imported from a desktop machine. Am still on the lookout for a good app that’ll read playlist files for my largeish music collection without having to resort to the PITA of iTunes. I’ve been in touch with the developers about this but seem to have now been ghosted. Individually adding them one by one is a non-starter, as some of my playlists have >1000 songs each. And now, with the most recent iOS update (17.3.1) the app is shuffling and skipping songs within an album, even though shuffle is off. I’ve enjoyed this app for the last two years, but I can’t work with this. I guess my search continues….Version: 6.1

Does not store the last file positionI mainly use Evermusic to listen to audio books. However it does not store the last file and position. Need to search each time..Version: 4.9

Went downhill? After the latest update, it is useless. Opens up but will stop playing later or just quits unexpectedly. When you open the app, it will then exit. Can’t use it at all. Also, I have around 5k plus music. And backing that would give me almost a 1 GB of backup file! I can’t imagine what’s inside. But if it’s just meta and images (small ones at that), I would assume it would not be that much. I’m just staggered! Anyway, as a paying customer, I’m really disappointed. It has very good potential that I was close to ditching Apple Music and Spotify - which I’m planning of doing in the future. For now, I’m using Documents which works flawlessly. I wish I can get my money back..Version: 5.2

Almost greatWhen I tested the free version of this I was pleased with how the app organized my offline music files . There wasn't any whacky cataloguing the way other apps often will do. Now after purchasing the pro version it is hit and miss whether any album art will be visible or completely blank. I have checked all the settings and nothing seems to explain this. All the artwork will randomly reappear and disappear upon opening the app. I definitely regret paying the fairly premium 13.99cad for this glitchy app..Version: 5.0

Has potentialI just want to play my iPod imported music, having to dig so deep into the menu system to find my songs is a little irritating for an app that is supposedly designed to do this..Version: 3.4

Please fixThis review comes in two weeks after the upgrade so I had enough time trying. The offline feature needs syncing with the playlist page. Whenever new songs are added, the playlists breaks essentially and needed internet to download existing files again even if the files are there in the offline, playlist folder. It paints the false picture where the offline function is not working, and since this is one of the main features of this app, it fails to perform. One solution for me is to toggle the offline button each time a single song is added to the playlist and essentially it clears all your downloads and download everything again. I have disabled data usage for this app so it reveals this bug, very annoying when I thought the app is not delivering but then I have located the downloaded files at the back. The random and other functions are disabled, so it’s very limited. Alternatively, I can add these downloaded songs back into a playlist from the download folder, but it breaks again as soon as new files are added back to the playlist. These should not have happened if this was tested before release. Another problem is the need to download multiple copies of the same song if it’s in more than one playlist. I know it’s not as big of a problem compared to the main issue above, but it’s not what I’m expecting. A major improvement would be able to bulk change the album title. I have a stack of old collections that are saved with non Unicode characters, while the metadata id3 function tries to correct these, it does not work all the time and given its best to fix at source, it will be good if I can just type in the new name of the album once and just click save to update the files..Version: 3.6

Was fine until the last 2 updatesThe app was great when I first got it, would be five stars, but lost a star after an update because the album covers thing got screwed up. It would either choose its own, or not have one at all. Other than that it still worked fine. After this latest update, I’m very disappointed. It stated that the album covers thing would be fixed, I go into the app and all but a few of the album covers are not there. Just blank. The ones that do have covers are not the original cover I chose for the album. Just all the same picture from my Google drive. When I chose edit image, it fixed it for just the album image, not the album images next to the songs. And that’s not all, I can’t even upload songs from Garage Band to the app anymore. I use Garage Band to make songs and I copy them to Evermusic. Now, it doesn’t give that option. It just says “Evermusic” and it loads the song and then nothing happens. It’s not in there. At first I thought this was a problem with the Garage Band app, but when I went into Evermusic I discovered that there is now an option to upload your songs from in the app by just choosing one from files. I did, and it just loaded and loaded and didn’t do anything. If you fix this stuff, I will change my rating to 5 stars. Thank you in advance..Version: 4.3

Good but settings don’t persistGood overall. What makes it 3 stars and keeps me from buying premium / makes me look at other apps is that this player does not persist "songs/albums" switch. I need artist->album->song navigation and with current implementation I have to toggle "songs/albums" button every time I choose an artist, which is super annoying. Seems like a really small ask though to add a setting for default mode where one can choose whether he wants to see a list of albums or right away see a list of all songs when opening an artist..Version: 4.8

Can’t browse all Albums in CarPlayI really like the Continue Playback option in CarPlay that makes it really easy to Continue Playing in the car wherever I last left off. However, there is an issue in the CarPlay interface for Evermusic that prevents me from being able to browse through all my albums like I can in other music apps. It just stops scrolling around the D’s. It would also be nice to be able to browse Genres and Albums within Genres. And it would be nice if there was a way to browse all music regardless of the source (i.e., all offline and online music combined)..Version: 4.8

EvermusicIt's horrible and you can't download anything unless you have a 100 email accounts.Version: 2.9

Missing 2 starsTried different types of offline music players and Evermusic turned out to be flawless but was lagged in two main points 1) where is airplay???. The app does have share music but that doesn’t work with airplay devices like home pod . Please add airplay option which is very very useful for most of the people who are in Apple ecosystem. 2) backgrounds : the ambience of the player would be much beautiful if we could have the option of choosing our own photo backgrounds like other apps say Melodista. I am not comparing but just letting the team know these two points makes the app complete . I am one step away to become a subscription member . Those above two points.Version: 3.9

No gapless playbackUseless app for musicians. Repeat playback hilariously re-downloads every time it repeats..Version: 4.9

No play next featureThe play next feature is only for pro users. while i’ve been using this app for several months now it’s slowly gotten more pro version friendly and only gives it to you for free for 30 mins which is too little time..Version: 4.6

Used to be fast to load songsNow it takes forever to load my local itunes music..Version: 5.8

BruhIt worked well at first, but then things became really glitchy. some of my playlists would get deleted out of nowhere and whenever id try to change the order of my songs, it would just revert to how it was before. also when i tried to add new songs, it would add a duplicate version?? its so annoying.Version: 4.8

Doesn’t workThis seems very poor. The basic functionality just doesn’t work. I set it off scanning my Google Drive folder of music and several hours later, it has found only 5 albums with typically one track in each. When I play a track, it stops approx 20 times during a song. Don’t understand how this has any good reviews, unless it’s very different on different phones (iPhone SE 2020)..Version: 4.3

Please help. Not all goodIt does exactly what I want it to do, but there's a glitch... I can stream my music to ChromeCast but the second my screen turns off, it completely stops! I do NOT want to keep my screen on while listening to music on my Tv ChromeCast. I really like this app: I bought some music online and downloaded it to Dropbox and can listen to anything I want :) The only issue is with ChromeCast... bummer....Version: 3.9

Was great but now keeps crashingThis was my go to app for connecting to,my NAS and streaming my hires audio to my iPad but now it keeps crashing and loosing connectivity forcing a force quit and starting from scratch. Ruins the relaxation. I’ll rate as 2 but if this bug gets fixed it can have the 5 stars it deserve. Synology NAS iPad Air 4 connectivity issues..Version: 5.0

Gotten worse over time.Started good… After the most recent update… things started to get 20X worse… Bug that I can’t explain how to do it or get footage of it because it only started after I did the update… (Can’t edit audio tags) And the files duplicate so when I shut down my phone… the duplicate files are deleted and some just fully disappear… Now restarting doesn’t delete the files and makes it unplayable. Now after Another uninstall and reinstall, I can’t even open download files..Version: 5.6

UnstableNot long downloaded the app but has crashed twice. Seems unstable when skipping tracks or going back, seemed to jump back to start of playing queue. Seems like it doesn’t remember where you were up to in playing queue. I have gone back to the dark ages buying an iphone.Version: 6.1

Music deletionThere seems to be random music deletion happening in my playlist no idea why using my iPhone 6 has been fine for ages using this app now it seems to have deleted a lot of my music files for no reason hope this gets fixed.Version: 4.8

This appDoes not work and I just bought it . My iPad is new just got it yesterday . Don’t was your money.Version: 5.3

(null)Use this app to organise and listen to my own written and recorded music so that I can use the EQ facility and check how it sounds through various speakers. Suddenly, a random selection of my songs won’t play at all and are just showing as “(null)”. This is not the first time that my songs and/or playlist orders have been inexplicably effected by this app so maybe time for a change..Version: 5.8

U need to update1 I hated it....2 its notttttttt offlineee😑😤😤😑😑😑😑.Version: 2.9

Horrible ApplicationWhy? This app deleted and duplicated the music files I uploaded to it causing lost songs and duplicates of others. Do not use this app. Instead I recommend using the Offline Music Player by Zakir Hossain. Trust me, this app does things without our permission..Version: 5.3

Quite uselessYou can play local files, but to add them to a playlist you have to copy them to the app’s folder... Furthermore, the “sort” function cannot change direction and for some reason when I sort by track number it’s descending, so totally backwards!.Version: 4.2

The update made things messed upEverything was fine before the current update. Now songs won’t play, downloads won’t load. The app keeps freezing. Adding new songs ends up adding all of the songs I downloaded to a playlist and that is very annoying, having to trash all music just for it to happen again. This update screwed up alot of things and that is very disappointing to say the least. I know a few years ago i made Comment saying this app was awesome and all that but.. Its all pretty frustrating now. Thats a shame. Update: i have had it, music wont play at ALL at this point. The app is now rendered useless now. I cant even do anything with out that x in the middle of the screen loading, it freezes and i have to get off the app before i can use it again only for it to freeze up 10 seconds later. What did this update do to this app?!.Version: 4.3

HmmmmSo I’m giving this app a go but I can’t understand for the life of my why Dropbox sync is SLLLOOOWWW!!?? Why? Been an hour and not one song has showed up in the list so far..Version: 4.8

Went from usable to unusable after latest updateLoads a song then freezes, good job with the update. Wasn’t broken before.Version: 5.3

Used to be solid, now a piece of crapThis app used to be a gem and so sick for being able to stream from your Google drive. I uninstalled it the first time because it would, absolutely without fail, randomly quit and close every single time I played music after using it for months without issue. I just reinstalled it to try it out again and now, without any logic or reason, all of my albums are sorted from last to first. Even when sorting by "name", which would logically put 01 at the top and 09 at the bottom, it still sorts it by last song to first. So whoever is in charge of the app, please don't quit your day job cause this ain't working..Version: 4.8

Download problemIve been trying download a new song but when i play it, it disapears and plays an alreadg downloaded song. Then i try to download it again it says the file alreadg exists, it was working just fine till now.. whats going on??.Version: 4.7

Poor very poorBought the app unable to download beyond the limited app despite paying £4.99 for it , have emailed Evermusic twice and no reply , can’t get any joy from apple either , crap service Two weeks later still not heard from them app still not downloading , no refund , scammers I think but apple are worse, useless , everybody’s happy to take your money and promise ,, crap Two months on !! So still no word or refund from these robbers , and still no help from apple , very bad service I shall keeping adding to my post periodically been three months now. Crap service if you purchase it hope it works because these people are ignorant robbers.Version: 4.2

Where’s default sort on IPad?So after no replies to the support team, I thought I’d purchase the pro version to resolve my track order issue. It doesn’t work😖😖 It’s there on my IPhone, but not on the IPad (9.35) and cannot update due to it being a 2012 model. Everything works fine but can’t play albums in the order they should be only alphabetical name/date and file size Let’s see if I get a solution from support otherwise down the refund route.Version: 4.5

Keeps skippingKeeps fast forwarding my song a few seconds. 😢.Version: 5.8

Chromecast not workingOnly reason I purchased the app is to be able to Chromecast my music. That feature has been broken for over 2 months now..Version: 5.0

Does not Sync playlist across all devicesThis App could have been good if only the playlist you’ve created synchronizes to all your devices. I emailed the customer service but no one get back to me with an answer about the synchronisation. So, also a negative rating for customer service..Version: 4.8

Suite of selectively disabled apps suite of apps that are so very unstableCrashes constantly trying to sync with a not very large dlna library of around 3000 tracks. Graphic equaliser UI too small to adjust with any meaningful accuracy Everappz producrs a very confusing suite of apps that all seem close to completely identical , but the differences are sooo subtle and just silly. To get the full possibility of features you need to actually buy a few different app versions from same developer..eg cross fade is disabled not in Flacbox, but available in Evermusic and evermusic pro. 24bit audio support is available in flacbox but disabled evermusic or ever music pro., but, Flacbox can’t see locally stored podcasts but the other two evermusic apps can. ??? This incredibly subtle product differentiation seems designed not to produce the best and most comprehensive app, but to force you to buy multiple versions just to have the features you’d need..Version: 3.4

Appalling! Want an immediate refund. So I downloaded this app last night, and opened it and it seemed okay. Straight away it asked for £2.99 so I could download my music and listen to it offline, which is what I wanted. So I paid the £2.99 and nothing happened. The app kept crashing, my music wouldn't even download let alone play. I got so frustrated I deleted the app. I am furious I paid for that. I demand a refund! I strongly advise against downloading this app..Version: 3.2

Greatest music library app yet !Not only does it have every good thing the other apps do, but it does everything else the others can’t do and does everything better ! - It automatically fades into the next song rather than abrupt endings - it allows you to upload straight from the files app which is unlike any of the other ones i tried yesterday - it’s actually offline compatible ( i have to say that because some of the other ones weren’t ) - there’s no limit to the amount of songs you can download - you can put a password on it - it comes equipped with an EQUALIZER ...the list goes on and on but I think i did a deep search for an app like this and take my suggestion so you don’t have to 🤷🏾‍♂️ UPDATE : I had to lower the rating because of an extremely annoying bug in the app. You have to keep closing the app and reopening it to continue renaming songs and adding info to them and it does this loading screen that takes forever . Overall , the tools in the app are great but the delivery is very poor and idk what to do anymore 🤦🏾‍♂️🤦🏾‍♂️.Version: 4.5

No support for iOS Files app?Don’t know why it doesn’t exist but surely having support for the Files app would be very important..Version: 3.9

Don’t botherSlow to download songs. They don’t bother to respond to emails for assistance, and I started getting spam emails after I downloaded this. Stay away..Version: 3.6

Close to greatEvermusic is a pretty solid app once you've got to grips with it but the are many, many failures of clarity from a UX standpoint. It's extremely unclear when a given action has had an effect or whether it's failed. The user is forced to investigate the matter themselves. If the action has failed the user then has to deduce why and how to fix the issue. No error message is given, no explanation, it's all just left to troubleshoot on the user end. But all of that I can forgive to some extent. I don't know the size of the team that worked on this app. What I can't forgive is paywalling "offline mode". In other words, making the user pay to download files from their own cloud services, something the user could do simply by navigating to the Files app. I'm more than happy to support apps I use a lot, there's no need for those kinds of practices..Version: 5.8
