✓ Great game until my data was erasedThis was a rare, relaxing game that was easy to pick up for a few minutes at a time and still be fully enjoyable. However when updating my entire collection of dragons and koi was erased. Don't get attached to any of your fish !!.Version: 1.3

✓ Fun but slow to get started...It's a beautiful game but like most free to play games with in app purchases, it's a grind to open up a lot of the features. I found three slots for koi fish a bit stingy of the devs since it's so easy to breed fish within minutes of playing. It wouldn't be so bad if you could earn gems at a reasonable rate. ✓ Spam After PlayingI played this game many years ago and didn’t seem to have any issues with it. I redownloaded it again last week and a notification (that I had to interact with in order to close) appeared stating that the app has in app purchases. Within an hour of playing this for the first time (last week) I received a strange Japanese email requesting payment confirmation. Since then I have received two other strange Japanese emails stating that I’ve created accounts on Japanese websites that I have never even heard of, with multiple links scattered throughout. I’m not 100% sure if this app is the cause of this however it began in time with my first opening of this app and there are no other known explanations. The app is peaceful and lovely to play after a busy day, but it’s not worth it..Version: 1.12.1
✓ Nice and soothingBeautiful artwork and the game is so calming. Two stars deducted because the amount of Koi space you have is unreasonably little, you have to spend cash to expand early into the game..Version: 1.11.4

✓ Such as money grab!! But good too! Sorry this is so long! Read it all plz!This game is fun and all, but it's supposed to be a collectors game, and it sure is hard to do that when you have to watch an ad, wait, watch an ad, wait, and keep on doing that until you have enough pearls to hatch one of your eggs! I thought it was bad enough that you had to watch a million ads to get enough pearls, but making us wait a while until we can watch another ad?! That is just extreme...I don't think anyone is comfortable spending money every time their fishes' egg is ready to hatch, but can't hatch it until there's another spot in their pond. A ridiculous way to get money. Balance it out Landshark! I'm sorry for all the complaints, but really! I'm also quite sorry all of ⬆️⬆️⬆️⬆️ this makes is sound like I hate the game, I don't! I love it! And I have 2 suggestions: Make it easier to get pearls... Put a screen were you can see all the fish you've ever bred. ✓ Really enjoyed it, until.....I was really enjoying the game, but there is no easy way to get pearls, which you NEED. I don't mind watching ads in order to not pay, but at one 30 second ad for ONE pearl, when the 3rd koi slot costs 50 pearls, and I imagine it only goes up from there ... that's just too ridiculous and the $$ price for pearls is astronomical. So sad, because I don't like a lot of games, and this was chill enough, with enough happening... :( would try again if they changed it!.Version: 1.10.5
✓ Basically lost pearlsThey don't tell you that you can't 'bank' more than 45 per boost. I had almost 20 each and had enough pearls to buy 40 each and ended up with 45. So yeah, this loses stars. How is that fair? If you pay for pearls and then spend more than the allotted spaces, you literally just throw money away. Not ok. Otherwise, this is a generally relaxing, laid back game. I like the addition of the blooming plants that can hold gems, pearls, or boosts (not that you have space for them, potentially)..Version: 1.10.5

I love the collecting and breeding and ascending the different koi and the *concept* of chasing around the different prey. my one big issue is the vast majority of the prey designs remind me of godawful bugs and looking at them makes me literally physically itchy. I'm sad about this bc the game would be a perfect way to relax if the prey were nice and zen like the koi instead of horrifying creepy crawlies a aaaaahhhhHHHHHHH I have to stop thinking about it! I really want to play this game without it making me feel like things are crawling on me!!.Version: 1.10.5
✓ Relaxing way to lose timePick it up for a couple of minutes, think to yourself "just one more level" and find you've lost half an hour or more as one more level turns into two and then three... But be warned, this latest upgrade sends you right back to the beginning and you lose everything you've worked for 😡.Version: 1.3
✓ See bottom of previous review05/18: game continues to get buggier and I'm not talking about those in the pond- no consistency note speed of Koi and levels. Koi begin to move glacially slow without power ups despite advancing levels and then for a time to go and one normal speed's like when I first began playing the game I'm on able to account for the reasons for this change back-and-forth in the speed of the koi. -__--------------- Although the game is mostly intuitive and easy to figure out, there are some information gaps that it would be nice to have filled: 1. What are the dragon points for/how can they be used? 2. What is the purpose/benefit of cloning your koi? 3. Can't find purchase option for turning off ads following Zen Koi level achievements. 4. Agree with other review that variety in food collection paths would be nice. 5. 100, 200, etc. pearls to purchase new Koi or egg slots is excessive given the overall slow rates of accumulation (without purchasing, that is). consider lowering please, and/or offer other options for gaining slots (e.g. challenges, bonus or surprise prey capture, random discovery in pond, etc. ) One last note: Play started fine for first couple of weeks but lately game has been freezing up, slowing down (Koi movement/speed), and/or sometimes displaying as "jerky" film..Version: 1.10.9
✓ Koi koiGreat game i have managed to get my first dragon. But I would like to be able to have more koi slots as i have 5 eggs to be hatched and cant as there is no room for them maybe you could have different ponds like each pond holds 6 koi and so on and have a max amount of ponds like 10 ponds that hold 6 koi each. There should be a better way to get pearls as its going to be a long time before i can get another slot and might lose interest in the mean time. ✓ Could Have Been AmazingThis is a beautiful game that could have been something relaxing and worthy of spending some time on. Unfortunately the game was built to prey upon anxieties of never seeing something again to encourage the player to purchase “pearls.” It’s a collection game that gives limited slots to collect. I would have gladly bought this game outright, but that isn’t an option, and watching ads for one pearl when slots cost 100+, is neither relaxing nor worthy. ✓ Help me, please!My sister, one day, found my iPad and she played the game. I got a ton of dragons now that I didn’t have before and I just want to start over so I can get dragons on my own. I tried resetting the game, but I couldn’t because there was no reset button. I tried deleting it as well. Still, It didn’t work. Add a reset button somewhere and you’ll get five stars. Otherwise this game is the best game there is right now and is relaxing and fun. It was hard to get bored from this game - before my sister came along - and I don’t want you change anything ( except for the reset button ).Version: 1.10.9

✓ AVOID: Ads & IAP & constant crashingZen Koi has had premium currency in-app-purchases (IAP) for as long as I've had the app. A forced update added advertisements which disrupt the flow and kill the zen vibe that was the game's main selling point. Now, the fullscreen ads are making the app constantly crash to desktop. They destroyed their own game in order to bombard it with ads. It's nearly unplayable in its current state. PS: If you can't even load the game, there is no excuse for giving it a rating higher than the lowest possible. A game that can't even be played should get the lowest possible marks. UPDATE: Unfortunately, it turns out that the ads for pearls (rewarded ads) are the ones causing most of the crashing. If the game only crashed when the rewarded ads ran, you could avoid the crashing by not playing the ads and missing out on those pearls. However, the crashes seem to be caused by the game contacting the server, so when the server is flaky, the game crashes constantly whether you avoid rewarded ads or not. LandShark contacted me. "For Zen Koi, you can get rid of interstitial ads with any purchase in the game, even the cheapest but rewarded ads you can still use it to earn pearls." He does not deny that the ads are causing the crashes. He gives no indication that LandShark has any plans to fix it. His only suggestion - that I give his company money for a constantly crashing app full of ads and IAP - would not solve the problem. Caveat emptor..Version: 1.10.9
✓ Tweaks NeededI absolutely love this game but have marked it down for 2 reasons..i even dont mind all the ads and having to watch the adds to get pearls..what i dont like about the game is.. 1. You cant play it offline 2. When you get an egg with multiple possibility fish colours,and you have played your heart out to get the rare coloured one in there and when the egg hatches,it gives you the common coloured one again that you already have. These are the two issues i have marked it down for..once tweaked i would highly recommend to others x.Version: 1.10.9

✓ Where'd it all go!?I've had this app for several months and it was great! Beautiful game with beautiful graphics, very calming game. However after this stupid update with flipping snowflakes (who wanted them anyway!?) all of my koi and all of my dragons have disappeared! ✓ What a way to ruin a real gameI tried this again after being away a long time, and this version is nothing like the relaxing game I used to play. Inserting ads every time you change screen views is bad enough, but they also cause the game to fail and become all but unplayable. They also force you to use Facebook to get all the functionality of the game, which Zen Koi 2 avoids. This game was ruined by ads and poor programming. Don’t bother. If you loved the original trying this version will ruin those relaxing memories of what it used to be..Version: 1.11.8
