✓ Developer got greedy, filled it with adsI understand the need for income for developers, and I understand that advertising helps make income, but this app has progressively added more and more advertising in more and more ways which are more irritating with every version. You got greedy. First it was the ads opening whenever you open the app, that was fine. Then it was more frequent ads while using the app, not cool. Now it’s every time I press a button on the remote and ad pops up, infuriating. I press volume up 3 times and have to close an ad after watching it play for 10 seconds. Then press 3 more times and another ad opens. Unbelievable. You’ve convinced me it’s better off to just buy the replacement remote for my Sony Bravia TV and uninstall this adware from my iPhone..Version: 3.0

✓ AnnoyingThis is been my experience with this app. I bought the app two years ago. Even paid the money to get rid of the ads (annoying). This app requires your phone to be connected to the same Wi-Fi network as the television, which mine is however, every time I turn my television on and use the app it has been disconnected. Then when I try to reconnect it, the app does not locate my television. It locates other items in my house but not my tv. Why, for example, can’t I type (or copy and paste) text for the search function the same as I do on any other phone app? Also, ‘pressing’ buttons doesn’t work well on a touchscreen when you have to look at a different screen for feedback. ✓ How does this even have any good reviews?Every time your TV turns off you have to re scan and reconnect it. This is more of an annoyance than an issue, but when half the time the correct tv doesn’t even show up or scan correctly, it’s bothersome. Now don’t even get me started on the ads. ✓ Ads and dangerous spam in free versionI downloaded this to use on my Sony Bravia TV. It did indeed connect and I think it was able to access most of the features on the original remote. The problem is that there were ads within just a few minutes of using the app. And one of those ads was a phishing scam app that pretended to be a message from iOS about my phone storage being full. And there is a choice to clean your iPhone. I did not click it because I knew that my storage is not full and I’ve never seen a message like this in years of iPhone use. I can only imagine if someone who is less savvy would have seen this ad and ended up installing some kind of bug or data opening. So because of that I deleted the app immediately.
