✓ App keeps getting betterI have subscribed to Calm radio for a while now and the app has added new genres of music and other features on a regular basis. It is convenient to access different types of music from the one app depending on the mood or situation I am in. Keep up the good work..Version: 10.7
✓ Calm Radio soothes the soul and restrains the demons Of PTSDI subscribed to Calm Radio many years ago. I have tinnitus and hearing loss from working around helicopters and heavy equipment. Calm Radio does not cure my hearing loss or tinnitus but it camouflages the buzzing noises with an arsenal of soothing music. My favorite Channel is "Eric Henry and Friends", music that banishes the incessant buzzing and restrains the demons of PTSD. Calm Radio support team is fantastic. The couple of times there were technical problems they quickly solved them..Version: 11.6
✓ Love the selection and quality, but no Control4 integrationI suscribed as a lifetime member, as I had listened to the music selections with VERY LOUD ADS, on my whole home Control4 fine audio system. After I suscribed, I was told by my Control4 programmer that there is NO WAY to log in on Control4 and therefore have the ads removed. I am sorely disappointed and would not have bought a lifetime subscription if I knew I couldn’t use the service without the ads blaring, which I had gotten for free ( and still do) . I do hope that you will fix this. Many Control4 owners would subscribe; and as your service is available on my system, surely you can support or make available your own app into which I could enter my credentials and stream ad free, which I have paid for? ✓ By far the most calming musicIt really helped me thru the pandemic; not only with the meditations but the music; i can adapt it to my mood. Really refreshing app, it had some issues before but it has improved. ✓ They don’t answer emailsI purchased a 2 year subscription early in the pandemic. I decided not to proceed with a renewal. I was certain I had turned off auto renew. Early on May 5, 2022 Calm Radio charged me for another 2 year renewal. I emailed them on the 5th, and the 7th regarding this issue. No response. Update: Calm Radio answered my email request and refunded most of the subscription price. I not refunded was probably the fee from my credit card company which I think was fair. I did find Calm Radio helped during the brunt of the lockdown..Version: 11.16.3

✓ Simply the bestI rarely write reviews, particularly 5 star ones, but Calm Radio is quite simply the best background music app I've come across - I have various channels on constantly and have recommended it to family, friends and even clients. Many of them are now subscribers too! There are lots of music streaming apps available in the app store but what makes this one stand out to me is the obvious care and thought that goes into creating the constantly changing playlists - this is * not* Pandora! Evidently, real humans (with great knowledge and taste I might add) program the music and it shows. There are lots of bells and whistles (rain and forest sounds etc) but everything is built on a foundation of the exquisitely chosen music. I highly recommend you check it out..Version: 10.7

✓ Great for classical musicI listen to this in the car or sitting at home and the playouts are very good. The Jazz is good too, but I spend most of my time listening to classical. At only £4.80 per month I feel it's very good value. Only possible criticism is the bit rate: 320kbps is very good quality, but occasionally a little too much for the vagaries of 3G/4G while driving. BUT... 64K is really too low. It's easy to drive around and keep a 64kbps stream working but the quality isn't good enough. It might have been OK in 2010 but nowadays we need something a bit higher. You can hear strange digital artefacts and poor rendition when the music gets complex. 32K has a lower frequency range and is quite poor. There should be an option for something good enough but at a low enough bit rate to work reliably in a moving vehicle, so perhaps 128Kbps or 160Kbps..Version: 8.8
✓ Wonderful but could be improvedI have been using it for years and love it. I listen to it every day. Two nitpicks: first, the name is Calm but too many ‘stations’ slip in some frenetic piece of music that destroys the Calm mood. Lately they’ve started adding things like ‘Peaceful Bach,’ but isn’t that what a ‘Calm’ Bach station is already supposed to be? If you want a mix of calm pieces and and more frenzied stuff, you’d listen to some other music app not advertised as ‘calm.’ Second, the Apple TV app will not work in the background and requires you to have their repetitive and surprisingly ordinary videos playing on the screen when listening. Why? I signed up for a music app, not boring videos..Version: 11.18.0

✓ The best I've foundI've had Calm Radio for a couple of years now. The best of more than a dozen similar apps I've tried. The ads on the free version were irritating but based on content I took out the subscription. It's now one of my top 3 apps of all kinds and high value based on how it supports effective work and relaxation. I have favourite channels that I choose for backgrounds when doing different kinds of work, relaxing or attempting to get to sleep. The channels have well-curated content for the themes - better than other apps I've tried. Audio quality is good. The videos are good - I'd prefer longer loops but the image selection is exceptional and resolution is very good if shown on a 27" computer screen. The app itself has improved and expanded over the past couple of years. It's gained value for my daily use and hasn't had changes that were unnecessary, or put in flashy things that just get in the way as seems to happen in many apps. I've had no technical glitches on either my iPhone or computer since 2019. I don't usually write app reviews (I think this is my second). But Calm Radio has become a very positive part of my daily schedule so I thought I should make the effort :).Version: 11.10.6

✓ So glad I got a Lifetime membership - but why the warnings?I was introduced to Calm Radio when I bought a new smart TV a few years ago. I used the Calm Radio TV app to help me sleep. I started with a monthly subscription, and when I was offered the Lifetime membership I jumped on it and added it to my Apple apps. Now I have Calm Music everywhere. My only concern is with my new router. When I try to play Calm Radio through my mini Pod, I get a warning that “Apple is sending your authentication information using weak encryption.” My old router never sent me a warning. I have taken such an interest in classical music the last couple yrs for anxiety relief and general calm, I always just used one of my other music apps and create playlists or surf around to please my mood. With this app, its all there! The selling point that moved me to subscribe was seeing how they broke down the classical eras by composer/century/periods. I’m in classical music class with this device! Plus extras...meditation options, sounds, wellness options, and hey classic rock or disco or jazz (what jazz am I feelin at the moment??!). My classical music radio station offers only one piece at a time. CALM radio offers so many choices of composers and genres to choose anytime I feel like listening. ✓ A few gripes but overall still greatI’m a lifetime subscriber since 2014, I listen to this app daily and love it with a few small gripes. 1) App seems to disconnect a lot. Updates never fix it. If you try to skip a track, it cuts off entirely about half the time. I have tried using different IPs, devices, etc and it still behaves the same way, year after year. 2) Skip track function isn’t great. It wobbles, often cuts off the feed and if you try to hit it a second time it takes you right back to the first song you skipped. Still, it comes in handy for bypassing those annoying Earl Klugh and Joe Pass songs. 3) Like/Dislike thumbs seemingly do nothing. The app does not operate like Pandora and this appears to be an empty function. Okay, enough griping. The music selection and themed channels are great. The app itself is beautiful. Despite my grumbles, it’s really a great service and I recommend it highly..Version: 11.6

✓ Very good but resource hungry!I do really like this app and the service it supports, but I’ve had some issues with the last update. The videos added are very enjoyable but they use a LOT of storage, so make sure you only load or, at least, settle on 1 or 2 and delete any you don’t use frequently. Also, last night I was using the app to monitor the tracks playing on the same channel on my streamer/Hi-Fi. i.e. The app was left with the current stream stopped, but displaying the current track info/album art work. Even with my iPad left in standby during the night, the app completely flattened the iPad battery so that it wouldn’t start in the morning (really bad for the battery).
