Pixelmator for Negative User Reviews

The new update is awfulUsed to love Pixelmator, but the new update has taken away the most creative templates and replaced them with boring old squares. Whose idea was this?.Version: 2.9.1

Really good but bug/issue prevents saving to camera rollAwesome app until at some stage in iOS 11 and also iOS 12, Pixelmator doesn’t appear under settings, privacy, photos anymore (it used to) so cant allow it access to photos so can’t save any photos to photos app anymore. Been like this a few months. Uninstalling and installing from app store again hasn’t fixed it. Apart from that awesome app..Version: 2.4.3

Terrible output resolutionFairly easy to work, but the output has been very frustrating. It appears to convert images to BTM for image manipulation and then output a very degraded image no matter what export setting I use. Resolution would bring a much higher rating..Version: 2.8.3

Terrible!! Missing the one feature I paid for!I downloaded this with the intention of colouring in professional graphics via my iPad using the one tool that for some reason is non inclusive of the iPad app despite being on the Mac version: PAINT BUCKET!!! How on earth could you guys leave such an important tool out????? Usually when you pay for something you can hold the expectation that you are paying for a premium product. As soon as you avenge your letdown I will be happy to modify my review!.Version: 2.2.1

Great, when it’s not crashingHave been using this for an age, I love Pixelmator Pro on my MacBook and Mac mini. On the iPad (Pro 11” 4th Gen) I’ll be working on an image, generally something simple with two layers and freehand line drawings or tracing underlying images when things start going wrong. Occasionally it’s a full blown app crash, other times when I’m pulling down control centre to lock orientation and return to the image I get a black screen and all my work is gone. I have wiped my iPad and started from scratch thinking it might be something iPadOS related but that has made no difference. It’s massively unstable at the moment to the point where I’m removing it from my workflows and using alternatives..Version: 3.1.3

It was amazing before the updateThis app was fantastic before the new update and I’ve used it for many years but the new update is just terrible. Firstly, the new file based layout means you can’t see the image of any file if it has layers so it’s incredibly difficult to find any work. Secondly, since the latest update, when you copy and paste an image and then select part of the pasted image to move it or change the size, when you deselect it the image warps. It’s incredibly frustrating. Please go back to the way it was!.Version: 2.5.3

Decent, but could be betterIve used this app for a while and although i enjoy it and find it easy to use once you have worked out where everything is, there are a few things that could make this app sooooo much better. The main thing for me is image stretching and skewing, but other things such as being able to add more gradients and being able to make fine adjustments to sliders with a button press would take this from a 3 to a 5. Close but no cigar.Version: 2.4.8

Ability to edit a Canera Roll image removedPlease consider re-adding the ability to select an image straight from your camera roll. Not sure how long ago that option got removed, but I just booted up the app now to do some editing and it seems like I can’t just select an image from my camera roll anymore. I have no choice but to choose a template and then add the image (which is irritating becuaae you've first got to find out the resolution of your image before you can edit it. You used to be able to just start from an image in your camera roll. This small change baffling. It should never have been removed..Version: 2.5.3

2 stars dinged for losing all my documents when I exchanged iPadICloud sharing only is just garbage for those of us who refuse to buy into more cloud storage. I need to offload my documents to desktop, NOT TO A STUPID CLOUD. I lost every document in frustration when I tried to offload some work before restoring and exchanging a device. Why not just keep a doc in iTunes file share? I am so sick of the lack of transparency and redundancy of iCloud sharing running amok and trying to take control of everything I do on my Apple gear..Version: 2.3

Not there yet, it is not finished compare to competitionIt is certainly better user interface than their Mac version, but still lacks some must have tools compared to competition, and it has one major turn off: it does reduce the size of files. So, my 16 and 24 megapixel images comes out as just a touch bigger than 11 megapixel. It is 2015, Pixelmator guys, and everyone already shoots more than 11 MP capable cameras, even smartphones have crossed that line!!! When I go on photo trip I usually choose my tablet over heavy laptop to edit my photos on the go, and there is no no no to the apps which degrade your files, as I dont want later to re-edit photos when back to my computer to have maximum possible quality. Pixelmator would be good for casual quick edit, but pro users who do final edit on tablet pc's would be better off using Photogenie or Filterstorm which are loaded with more tools and most importantly allows you to save your work in full quality and more file type options, you can even upscale your photos!.Version: 2.0.1

Bad color banding issueThe gradient maker is useless as there is a massive color banding issue. I reached out to the developer months ago and the issue has yet to be addressed. I will update my review when the issue is fixed!.Version: 2.5.5

Not functioning properlyI have been using this app for years and have always loved it, but in it’s current state it is unusable sadly. The selection feature is buggy now, copies of images appear off the screen and editing a copied selection now causes the copy to get imbedded with another image and then disappears..Version: 2.8.3

Lightroom and Photoshop Mix Kill This AppLong time user of both Lightroom and Photoshop- wanted to try Pixelmator because I’ve seen a few articles on it and a few decent reviews. If you’re a professional photographer and editor, using this app is a serious step backwards! Lacks professional look and interface, tools aren’t visible without hunting through menus and overall image control is practically as simplified as the iPhone photo editor tool that is already on your phone as default. Save your money, I wish I could get mine back! instagram: @benji.i.Version: 2.4.4

Interface needs to be updated.Love this app but I 100% believe it could be better with an improved interface..Version: 2.6.4

Good but lackingPlease add an edit menu function. I don't like having to use the eraser to delete a selected area. Photoshop touch has it!!! Plus please improve the extension performance. Applying some effects inside the iOS photos app takes forever...Version: 1.0.2

Lots of issues with fonts since the latest updateA lot of my installed fonts on my iPad Pro are no longer showing up properly in the app, instead just showing them in a standard Arial style font. Please fix!.Version: 2.4.2

You can’t really adjust colours in a colour selectionDoesn’t give you the option of deselecting colours in the colour replace and adjust mode which makes that kinda useless. If you are trying to select any colour even remotely close to a colour in another area of the photo you can’t remove selections like you can in photo shop. Hard to find solid information if the desktop app would be any better. For people who need to select colour around hair etc it won’t work..Version: 2.4.8

Waste of moneyWow. This app sucks. Total waste of money. Dedicated photo editors like dark room are way better, and as later editing tool this thing is garbage!! Trying to select, mask and crop is a nightmare. Wish I could have tried before buying. Total junk wish it was possible to get a refund..Version: 2.6.4

Didn't finish loading :(Almost completed loading but didn't make it and is now stuck. Can't restart the install or delete it! How do I rid of it please? I take that back. Left iPad alone for a couple of hours and went back to Apple Store and new message allowed me to download again. Phew this time success..thank you! Hopefully it will all work well now ;).Version: 2.4.1

FrothwareExperience with pixypro on Imac encouraged me to think this might be an additional basic exposure adjustment app for tablet. Useless presets, useless sliders, useless. This annoying fluff is hardly worth the time to review it leave alone the 10$ price. And Apple support won’t refund‼️.Version: 2.9.2

Great potential. Terrible delivery.Being unable to create a new project based on a photo is incredible. They somehow took that away several updates ago. Now you can’t even add a photo into a project. The app continually moves backwards. It’s not worth the money until the devs. start fixing all their bugs and mistakes..Version: 3.1.2

Nothing works!!Attempting to import an image hangs on “loading” and trying to load an existing Pixelmator file will just stay on the files app screen..Version: 2.8.3

Latest version very buggyMost recent update is very buggy. I don’t remember what they say they “fixed” but I can tell you what they broke. You have a 50% chance of the app saving your changes. It may just spin and spin and never resolve back to the file screen. Then after restarting it, your changes are gone! I’ve have to force quit it multiple times a day. I have a very capable M1 iPad Pro fully updated. This should not be happening. Often just opening the app results in a blank grey screen (even if it was already running in background) it’s back to being unusable and a constant risk of losing hours of your work. Export things out before saving or you may lose an entire day. I did..Version: 2.8.4

Not my cappuccinoI love art and only purchased as it was advertised high rated. Basically in my opinion photoshop express upgrade version is better with the effects plus a whole heap more , and then open up in art studio with same layer options, and art studio to edit and draw with not to mention a tone load of options plus the abr app is good to extract brushes and use with art studio etc . I would imagine some creative work can be done with this app and is clean to look at, but I write my honest opinion and feel write up I have read is far fetched. Plus I think apps on AppStore should come with a 1-3 day trial version first. But app is ok'ish and for price is good..Version: 1.0.1

ArrêtL’application ne fonction plus du tout dommage ..Version: 2.6.4

IOS interfaceI absolutely hate unintuitive Pixelmator’s iOS interface. Nothing is obvious like in desktop apps. Everything is a detective work. How do you reverse a selection? Where is it buried? Wher is the cut and paste menu? Why just not make same interface as on Mac, so whatever was learned there can be easily use on iOS and vice versa. Frustrated beyond belief..Version: 3.0.12

Exit tool in edit takes multiple hits…..Exit tool in edit takes multiple hits to close window when wanting to open new image. Anyone else having this problem on the iPad?.Version: 2.8.1

Serious crashing issuesNew version crashes every photo. Totally unusable as you can never get anything done..Version: 3.1

A Background bugI take my subject from a photo but when I save my subject as a file. The background is available in the file..Version: 3.0.12

Exporting your original filesOn my iPad, it seems to be impossible to move the original PXM files onto onedrive or Pcloud. It seems there is something magical about the Pixelmator folder that makes it impossible to copy the files out of there onto another cloud storage option..Version: 2.6.3

NO LONGER SAVES ANY FILES!This app used to be fantastic. But with each software update, it’s degraded to the point it no longer saves new files to my iPad. When I reported it to the developers, they did not believe me and kept telling me to check my iPad as it “must be saved somewhere.” It’s not. I checked every single folder for the files I created using this app and they’re nowhere to be found. I’m certain I’m not the only person having this issue. It’s one thing to have a major issue like this, it’s another to be told I’m wrong..Version: 2.8.2

UpdateTerrible update, all the good brushes are gone now, and finding any brushes is harder. And you still have some small undo arrow hiding way up in the corner. Just bad. Can we please have the watercolour brushes back, at the very least? 🙄.Version: 2.7.4

Recent UpdateMakes it impossible to import photos directly from your photos app on iPhone rendering the App almost completely useless. Why do I have to choose the size of the Template before importing a photo? So many terrible changes..Version: 2.5.1

Lack of polygonal lasso tool makes it harder to cut out objectsThe select tools are great but don’t work perfectly and the free lasso tool is not ideal to use. The polygonal lasso tool like in photoshop is easier to control and makes it a quick and precise way of cutting out objects without snapping onto unwanted areas like what happens worse magnetic tool. The free lasso tool is very hard to use especially without an Apple Pencil and is unproductive for a large amount of users without one and those that use a phone to edit..Version: 2.6.4

Cloning issueIt has worked fine until recently. Cloning in retouch isn’t working properly on my iPhone. It has been very frustrating trying to get support..Version: 2.8.1

Warning - Does not work with Pixelmator Pro!This IOS app does not work with Pixelmator Pro on Mac; it only works with regular Pixelmator. Why they don't mention this in the blurb is beyond me - it took a very frustrating hour to figure out that Pro uses a new file format not supported by the IOS app. Why wouldn't Pixelmator share this information in the description of all three apps? It's baffling. Once you get over that hurdle it is a great bit of software..Version: 2.5.4

Bug foundWhen you make a folder by dragging two image files then bring a file out of the folder to make another folder with other image, image files in the first folder will corrupted. I've just lost 2 files after modifying. So annoying.Version: 2.0.2

Can’t cut and past within an imageTried to move one object in a picture to another place but it won’t work. You can select an item but then do nothing with it. Pointless..Version: 2.4.1

Bad workflowsNeeds a complete interface overhaul. The Mac app is fantastic but the iPad app is stuck in 2005..Version: 2.9

The good, the bad and UGLY!THE GOOD: - Easy/ fun to use - Clear interface/ UI - Keyboard support THE BAD: - Can’t rotate objects with a stylus from main screen - Can’t compare 2 images from main screen with one click - Can’t quickly jump to a specific previous version - No Undo / redo history list with a slider/wheel. - Very limited image and distort effects to play with - Very limited effects edit option - Very limited editable image filters - No advanced features to improve image quality - No advanced features to improve image composition - Can’t open an image from iOS Photos app THE UGLY: - No RAW support. (Which is inexcusable!) Because of all the above, i can’t recommend this App right now. Especially it's not a free app and it is lacking numerous features that i would expect to have in a premium photo editing app since other free apps are actually more advanced in some areas for example: SnapSeed and Lightroom, both are free!!! I really think this App has great potential but unfortunately it is definitely not “the ultimate pro photo editing” on IPad right now..Version: 2.6.3

From good to buggy and uselessIts an outdated piece of software that is not actually improved anymore. It tends to crash, screw up text layers and it cannot save correctly. If you want to spend your time for it to be wasted by the recent failure of the developers that reduced the quality of their apps performance. The UX is terrible. It used to be my goto for year before the update changed the look of a lot..Version: 3.1.1

Not bad but very basic. I'd expected moreGiven the hype, I'm not immediately impressed. I certainly expect more from my levels and curves tools - larger, for a start but at the very least I'd like control over the individual colour channels. The real disappointment, though, was the canned effects. I get why they're there and that's fine but you need to expose the tools needed to build them from scratch and use those tools to build the presets; it's just basic common sense. So I have a pinch tool rather than a patch distorted, a light leak tool with no colour control and what the hell do I need a bump tool for. The point being, if I had the tools to build these myself, I could make them how I want, not have them work the way you think I want them. And the blur doesn't blur enough, neither does the focus. And where are my tools for shadow and highlight adjustment? Right now there are better tools out there, it strikes me that it's been rushed for an Air 2 release date..Version: 1.0

An old fave, newly dysfunctionalI have been using this superb app for years and recommend it highly. However, I find that when using the current version not all of the changes I make to an image are displayed until I close it. For example, I might use the a retouch tool such as Darken, but as I brush my stylus across the screen nothing seems to happen, until I close the image. This is very annoying!.Version: 3.0.12

Camera Roll Saves is excellent but UI Layers is a messA mixed bag of an app. The apps integration with the photos app is on track to being a useful feature, once they bring in tools beyond filters. The ability to save over images in the photos roll, rather than saving duplicates is absolutely stellar. The problem part for me is the UI Layers and the way that tools function and the parameters to change them. I would like to see better warp tools and maybe facial recognition warping? Please improve the Layers though its such a vital part to the experience!.Version: 2.3

Crashes on startup...Brand new iPad Air 2 Gold 128 GB Cellular running iOS 8.1... Crashes on startup. Have tried resetting iPad, and reinstalling the app, but no luck... Needs an update I think!.Version: 1.0

Don’t bother if using on an iPadQuite possibly the worst $10 I’ve ever spent. I was googling apps that allowed you to darken shadows on a face in a photo. Basically just changing the lighting a little. I landed on the Pixelmator website and it showed the tools to do just that. I went to the App Store and found Pixelmator. Since it was $9.99 I figured it was the pro version. Ugh. The iOS version is very basic and does not do what I saw advertised on their website. I went back to relook the feature. It said Pixelmator pro which is what I thought I purchased. I went back to the App Store and found Pixelmator pro with a different logo and was unable to purchase it for iPad. The version I previously purchased was only for the iPad. They are both from the same company. **Be careful to purchase the version that is compatible with your device. I spent $10 for features that are subpar for editing photos on an ipad**.Version: 2.8.5

Don’t like latest update. Messes with flow + glitchesI think te new browser view makes it a lot harder to find your projects. Should be a way tor revert the view back to the old way if you want to. Also the app crashed on me and deleted a project i was working on that was saved..Version: 3.1.5

I love it, but it crashesWhen it works, it works great! It’s been crashing on me a lot lately! Deleted and reinstalled, but it now seems worse. I love it when it does work. I am using the ios version on my iPhone 7+ and it’s just frustrating to use this app right now. I’ve recommended this app to a lot of photography and arts and craft pages, so double frustration for me because I am recommending an app that does not work properly. Please fix the crashing issues..Version: 2.4.1

App is worthless with almost no toolsThis app hardly does anything and the developers should be ashamed to be charging money for this. You can’t even adjust the font size of added text, something you can do with Apples basic photo editor! That’s just the beginning of all the things that are wrong with this app. It’s as if the developers have no concept of how to create a useful mobile app. I’m constantly encountering the most basic of limitations with this. Save your money and time. This is nothing like OSX laptop application of the same name..Version: 2.8.5

Not bad but..This is a fairly good app especially when it comes to emulating real world art tools BUT I wasn't able to find a single way to adjust opacity in any context which to my mind is a real shame. I also think this app is pretty expensive. That said the app does allow for quite a bit of experimentation but it would have been nice to see layering of images and as I say no opacity adjustments is a bit minus in my view. I read a review stating that they have been able to dump Photoshop. I've used Photoshop since version 2 and I have to say that's a bit too optimistic. This is nowhere near the likes of Photoshop, not even close to be brutally honest..Version: 1.1

Images stopped savingMy images aren't saving anymore..Version: 2.4.7

Has became very buggyUsed to be my go-to photo editing app, but as of recent there are tons of issues that are apparent in other reviews too. Will be working on a project, switch apps quickly, return and the app has decided to restart without doing any saves which it used to do (this is on an iPhone 14 PM, not an old slower phone btw.) In general has just seeming my became very counterintuitive, not sure if this is to push everyone into their new app and start paying subscriptions rather than buying your editing apps the old way 😐 Previous review: This app is brilliant, I use it more than any other photo app I’ve ever used and it is definitely worth the money. Would be great if we saw occasional new features being added (and a ‘what’s new’ pop up with every update). Would not mind if the features came out in packs that we could buy..Version: 3.1.2

Poor iPad experience, but solid iPhone appI’ve been a big fan of the Pixelmator family of apps for years, but I’m really disappointed by the iPad UI and painfully limited feature set of this app. They’ve had years to improve it and I just don’t see any progress on the iPad front. I totally understand the compromises that were made for iPhone, and this app shines on that small screen. But compared to Pixelmator Pro (or Pixelmator Classic, RIP), this app is a toy. The fact that there isn’t even a proper toolbar for the iPad experience is baffling. Hiding so many basic functions behind layers of menus doesn’t make sense on an 11 inch screen. I would pay good money for a proper Pixelmator Pro port for iPadOS..Version: 3.1.6

My favourite app is ruined nowMy heart is broken. I used to be able to do such fine work in Pixelmator, but sometime in the last 2 years they’ve ruined the clone tool, you position the anchor but then as soon as you go to the target area the anchor moves to the target area & literally bobs around with the cursor. It’s unusable. Copy & paste is also bizarre now, it pastes to a random point outside the image & you have to go & find it & try to move it back in without distorting it. I’m going to have to find another app, or just learn Photoshop. I literally only use Pixelmator now to ‘repair’ out the occasional light socket etc from a background because the iOS native photo editor still doesn’t have a repair tool..Version: 2.8.3

Used to be good but now...Ok this app used to be the best, but now since that newest stupid update a lot has changed. The selection tools are terrible, you got rid of the one where you hold and drag out and it selects that area! BRING THAT BACK NOW! The magnetic one doesn't even work, even it o trace over something small it never gets it. I'm going to have to find a new app to make edits now. And do you know what I think, I think that terrible app stouldnt be worth like $6.99! Don't get this app, it the worst editor app ever!.Version: 2.3

Ripped off and misleadI feel ripped off and misled I thought this was a "full featured" pixelmator for iOS something similar to the desktop app which I like. Could not be further from the truth. Don't wast your money as it should have been free, even then not worth the storage space on your device..Version: 2.3

Decent app, but no Crop tool? Come on..I’ve used this for years, and it’s generally a solid app, but I’ve noticed in recent versions there’s no tool to directly crop an image like there used to be (either that, or there’s a bug preventing it from showing anywhere in the app. This is a really, really basic function of an app and as a result, I can’t really use this, because cropping a section of an image square is important because it’s how I have been creating avatars for years..Version: 2.8.2

Useless to meThe task was simple: remove redundant detail from a complicated map. I wasted a lot of time and switched to Procreate, which did the task with ease and panache. To paraphrase Steve Jobs, if an app needs manual you know they blew it. Slightly unfair, perhaps, because Procreate has an excellent iBook manual. But the Pixelmator manual is not available on the UK store. So perhaps I missed a few tricks, but it wasn't for lack of trying. The killers for me were that it seemed impossible to zoom without inadvertently rotating the image and that repeatedly rescaling the image caused in wanted cropping which I did not succeed in reversing. This made the whole thing useless. In my opinion this app needs a lot of work..Version: 2.1

CrashesKeeps crashing when using sliders at the bottom of adjustments. Difficult, no, impossible to submit a support ticket. Finally just deleted it. And, no way to get a refund either. That option is simply not available..Version: 2.8.1

Good Start, needs an update with extra features. If you have used Apps like Moldiv and Fuzel, you will love this app until you start to do basic photo changes. Trying to replace a photo in a Collage is hard. Trying to move it inside the shape moves the entire shape. Zooming in a photo is impossible in a shape. More templates would be good as well. The selection tool looks great, however slow on an older iPad. Photoshop Touch works better. It does have a magic wand tool, however very limited in terms of editing. More for painting. The interface is great and the app has enormous potential. The app has heaps of features..Version: 1.0

No EDR supportPlease add EDR support..Version: 3.1.1

So DisappointedI really wanted to like this application - especially for the amount I paid for it on both my Mac and my iPad. However, I have been working on a project for 4 hours and the app crashes literally (and I do mean literally) every 30 to 45 seconds and doesn’t save the changes I managed to make anywhere despite me trying to save to both photos and files. Current version of the app (updated today) is absolutely horrible. Extremely disappointed. And frustrated..Version: 3.0.10

Poor designThe app is poorly designed, the layer menu always appears when you swipe from the left edge, even while youre trying to draw something using a brush... Annoying..Version: 2.1

Basic tools missingWhat a disappointment. I have Pixelmator pro for Mac. This iPad app has less features than Microsoft paint. Doesn’t even have a fill in bucket tool. UI is also clunky. I want a refund..Version: 2.8.3

Slows updates. But still lackingI LOVE Pixelmator for the desktop, but the iPad app is very disappointing. One of the things that needs to change, which would greatly improve my review, is regarding the lack of ability to import drawing tools. The limited selection they have are not good, and they are all “chisel tips” that draw with a sort of ribbon effect. For inking, this is no good. But if we had the ability to import brushes from the desk top version, I would enjoy the iPad version so much more. But until they do, this is still sits in my off loaded folder. :(.Version: 2.9.1

DissapointingThe video for this looks so good. But don't be mislead. The interface is confusing. The "Tutorial" or what seems to be like a little hint on what the tool is and does is too vague. No Apple Pencil Support. No RAW photo editing. Its missing a lot of standard features these days and is not even worth the 99 cents right now. Buy it if your quick learner, can put up with 2014 features and can understand very vague things..Version: 2.3

Bad implementation of drag-and-dropOpened the app today and after experiencing several crashes I felt the app must have been updated because it usually works near-perfectly. The main thing that’s aggravating me is the implementation of drag-and-drop. While I appreciate the team working quickly to include new iOS 11 features. The way it’s been executed severely degrades a much more basic feature, simple resizing. Working on a new design right-now and it seems every other time I try and resize an element it instead thinks I want to drag and drop. Given how often I resize elements while working on a design this is really frustrating and has left me frustrated. I will continue to use the app, but will probably find myself using the desktop client more and more until this is addressed..Version: 2.4

I gave three starsI gave this three stars because I was not able to find stuff since yiu updated the app. It used to be five stars but now three. It’s hard to find where they are..Version: 2.8.3

Not what I expected. You’ll get more from the free app. Don’t buyI bought this thinking it would be an alternative to photoshop but it really isn’t. The free version called Photomator does more then this Pixelmator app. Not worth the money..Version: 2.8.4

Not impressedHonestly not impressed and wish I didn’t pay ten dollars for it. Picsart is free and it kind of does more than this app very disappointed.Version: 2.9.1

Good but...The app itself is really good, excellent editing and tools selection! However, once you save your file (or by mistake) there is no redo... you cannot redo what you did... please fix it!.Version: 2.3

DOES NOT WORK.I use Pixelmator Pro on Mac for literally everything, even word docs. I wanted a seamless workflow for Pixelmator from Mac to a tablet which is the reason I bought a new iPad Air 5th gen. I bought and downloaded the new Pixelmator 2.7 app for iOS. Pixelmator files do not open - Get an Error 1. Creating a new file, blank canvas do not open - Error 1. Nothing opens, the app just does not work. I sent an email to the support email 4 days ago and still no response. Desperately want this to work. Can someone please let me know what’s going on..Version: 2.7.1

😔.Version: 2.4.4

Completely unstable and doesn’t save workIn a shocking turn of events this app is now almost unusable on my iPad Pro 2018. Hangs, crashes, won’t export. When it reopens it has no record of half and hour to an hour of work..Version: 3.1.4

Absolute total waste of timeI’ve been a fan of Pixelmator for the longest time, but they have one problem they refuse to fix, or at least they haven’t in the last six updates. If you were working intensely on a project the app may suddenly shut down and eat your entire project, leaving you with nothing more than five or six pixels, and no way to re-create. Again, I say, beware unless you’re masochistic and enjoy watching hours upon hours of work disappear don’t use this app. Followup: another warning if you multitask this app is not for you. The second you swap apps regardless if you’ve spent hours on the project the (#%@&$*) app will give you the finger and just forget the past 3-400,000 brush strokes you had completed. No you will be insanely frustrated and question your sanity for trying the app again..Version: 2.8.4

Feels AbandonedThis used to be an amazing app, and Pixelmator puts out some amazing products in Photomator and Pixelmator Pro on the Mac. However, this app feels forgotten about. It doesn’t have any of the new ML tools in Pro and Photomator, it doesn’t have a UI that feels cohesive with those apps, and it just feels dated. I mean, the tool navigation alone is enough to put anyone off this app. Also it has weird quirks like how there is only a color dropper on the paint and erase tool, but not on any other tool with a color picker. It just doesn’t make sense when Pro and Photomator have such wonderful, thoughtful UIs, and this app is still stuck in 2010..Version: 3.0.12

Pretty alrightDecently powerful for an iPad editor. The menu based selection is cumbersome. The worst part is the hidden layer, it shrinks to hide, so I have to click on it to see what’s in it. Really inconvenient when I’m working with multiple layers. There are better editors out there but this is pretty alright regardless!.Version: 2.4.6

Need an updateA lot of bugs and freezes many times.Version: 2.4.2

LackingProblems with iCloud syncing causing loss of work and the inability to select multiple objects/layers is disappointing. Needs better selection tools and lack of updates is concerning ... Latest updates welcomed but crashing issues with groupings ...save often...new file manager is the work of the devil.Version: 3.0.3

Doesn’t work for anything but pictures that are good in the first place👎Horrible this works nothing like it is advertised and I regret paying for it.Version: 2.4.6

CrashedUsing apple pencil crashed dozens of times on ipad mini 6 and ipad pro 2018. Each crash will lead to the loss of drawings. Dozens of copies need to be backed up to draw a picture..Version: 3.1.4

Memory and layer limitations and bugs.I am a long time user of Pixelmator on both Mac and iPad. I am currently running the latest update of Pixelmator on an iPad Pro 6th generation 12 inch with iPad OS17. My work is very detailed and on many of my projects I often run out of layers. Combining layers as I work becomes tedious and makes future edits difficult. There are memory issues and a host of bugs. For example cropping no longer works. Saving modified images to photos has changed. File management and renaming files are awkward. Pixelmator is just not suitable for professional work even with a powerful iPad containing the M2 chip..Version: 3.1.5

Slow to do anything on my iPad ProIt would be good if it was not so slow to start up or import things. Buttons are in responsive.Version: 2.8.3

Not quite a replacement for photogeneThis app was one listed as a replacement tool to Photogene⁴. While this is an easy to use app, it’s is not a photogene replacement. The workflow is awkward, processing and adjusting functions are not as effective and harder to use. Such as curves, level adjustment and something as simple a sharpening. I will have to keep looking.....Version: 2.4

PixelmatorPiece of crap..Version: 2.4.8

Whatever you updated, change it backPhoto picker just freezes now when I try to import images from my library. never used to do this, iPhone 7 Plus..Version: 2.4.4

Appallingly misleadingBought this for the repair tool which is missing - and apparently is only available on the new iPad Air despite not being mentioned anywhere in the purchase description or keynote. If you're buying this for the repair version and don't have the new hardware, don't. AUD$6.99 wasted!.Version: 1.0
