✓ Great fun, terrible frustrationThis game has great graphics, great music, and it's not too easy to get the hang of. I love the choices for game play, as well as the difficulty factor added by those awful blank tiles. God speed to those waiting for a blank tile to face down. This game would be a five-star home run if it weren't for the hair-trigger drop. I saw people wrote about this and still bought the game because I thought really NBD... but NO. It is bad. The game, unlike Tetris, holds a tile in position at the top (no falling or choice to rotate). To drop, you drag the tile by sliding your finger left or right anywhere on screen. Once you release your touch, it falls. The issue with this game is it is so sensitive that if I tap the screen (i.e. to drop it in the column where it originally appeared), it will drop to the right if I am no careful. And same with any finger release. It drops it in the column to the right because I use my right thumb, which will naturally pull right when I release my touch..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Fun mindless gameI love playing this game when I’m on the bus or waiting in line for something, just engaging enough to be satisfying but not enough to consume all my attention. My only problem is that the game is largely luck based on what dominoes you get especially when you start getting a lot of white tiles (which you need to connect four to clear) my only suggestion is to add a zen mode where there are no white tiles or an endless mode so it is less frustrating when I just need something to occupy my mind..Version: 1.0.1

On my iPad Air 2 though, it is too sensitive to gestures and will occasionally think you've let go of the current piece or suddenly swipe it into the next column, dropping where you sure don't want it and mucking up your game. ✓ The only game I’ve stuck with over the yearsI also find the opening sequence painfully slow and unnecessary. I also play in silent mode but generally that’s just my preference. This is a Tetris-like game with no time limits. You can linger over your choices if you like. Since I had my phone upgraded recently, I’ve found the touch keys overly responsive, so the choice sometimes goes in the wrong place. ✓ Grows on you!When I first played this I was a bit disappointed at its seeming simplicity. However the more I play it the more I realise that it has hidden depths. I agree that an 'Undo' button would be useful as sometimes there are accidental wrong drops but I don't think that rotating the pieces would improve it- in a way that would make it even simpler and less challenging. The (optional) jazz/piano soundtrack is great and not annoying. However, the game suffers in that the playing surface is exceedingly small. This makes it an easy game for iPhone users to maneuver, but it also makes the board maddeningly small. This makes each move very crucial - one mistake can doom a game from the get-go. That means not much space is gained from the extra screen real estate you can access on a tablet. I feel a different, larger board for tablet users would give it the variation it needs to set it apart from the iPhone version. Also - especially on a tablet, a redo button is severely needed to ensure accidental drops are not triggered. Accidentally having that happen just once, is enough to ruin the game. ✓ My addiction!I have been playing Domino Drop Tails steadily for 14 months and my interest has not flagged yet after over 23k games. I absolutely love it and play every single day, sometimes for hours. Great brain reset. A few things could be improved: Would love to be able to redo an accidental move or replay the same game again to try different ways of approaching. Also, if left open, the game prevents my iPhone from going into lock/sleep mode so it could be a security issue and I sometimes lose battery life if I don't watch out..Version: 1.0.1

✓ Devilishly trickyThis app is pretty interesting. VERY hard if you never got into Tetris. The non-existent gravity and finicky controls are always out to get me. The graphics are pretty, but with my old phone sometimes slow and laggy. Speaking of which, I hate waiting for the transitions between games. In a world of instant, this is torture! My sister and I also really dislike the music. Normally I like app music, usually it's some nice calming stuff. But this is like old-jazzy, an I absolutely hate it. Thank goodness I can turn it off, but it still feels empty without some form of music. I've really nailed down the negatives, but lets look at another almost-positive - multiple gamemodes! Both extra modes make the already horribly tricky game even harder! (So I MIGHT be a little salty...so what?) if the developers are reading this, I would recommend an arcade gamemode. Notifications always screw me up, especially with the dropping of the tile. I feel like the game should automatically pause or something when a notification appears. The wrong drop of a domino and the game is messed up. It reminds me of Tetris but updated. I love the music that goes with the game, but the beginning graphics are unnecessary. I wish it wasn't so sensitive though because it will switch rows that it places the domino in at the last second when I remove my finger from the screen. ✓ Genius productionThe sounds and music make this game one of the most appealing ever for me. It's genius in presentation and it's similarly wonderful to Tetris (though you can't change the orientation of dominos). I'd prefer it employed strategy effectively over blind luck. Rotation would help in that department. Alternatively, being able to move pieces horizontally as they are falling could also help. That was possible in Tetris and enabled moving pieces around obstacles. One -MAJOR- frustration: it's far too easy to accidentally drop a domnio before you get it into position or to not drop it where you intended. The easy fixes would be: (1) Get rid of screen-wide sensitivity. Only use the board as a trigger area. (2) Provide undo. As a preference, let the user select rom 3 to 0 levels of undo, with 1 as the default. Bonus points if you offer a dialog "Pause the game?" after the user invokes undo… in case the reason the user needs to undo is because something came up and caused an unintended move. Also, I hope future versions add more tracks to the music library. The songs are utterly fantastic and on point. Bravo..Version: 1.0.1

However, it could yes an “Undo” option. Sometimes the bars drop in the wrong location—quite annoying. I guess that just adds to the difficulty of the game. Like other reviewer's have already stated, the drop of the tile is a little touchy. It's quite easy to put a tile in the wrong place by accident. ✓ Good but could be betterI like the game and get the style. A little hard to get at first but it walks you through everything. The game is really fun and becoming addictive. But for me to keep it they need to fix the controls. The slide an release is tough incase you need to put the tile somewhere else or if you lift you finger by accident. They need to make it where you can double tap at the location you want then it drops the tile. Also, with staying with the tetris them, you should be able to rotate the tile, maybe using a tripe tap or some sort of small d-pad. I think that will make the game more fun, IMO..Version: 1.0.1

I love the music and the choice of 3 types of game play is nice and keeps gameplay from getting too boring. This game is wonderful it allows you to be able to maneuver dominoes with delightful music and as if you're playing with the wooden box. The only con of this game is that when you're choosing a domino the game piece may sometimes slip or get happy and move in a direction where in you do not want it to go and with that you can mess up your entire game or flow. ✓ Fun possibly ft. logicI don't know for sure whether there is more logic than luck to this game. but i do know i am enjoying playing it! i like normal and numbered mode but not pro mode because it feels like more luck less planning to not know the next piece (in normal you see current domino and next) but i might be wrong! it could be more of a logic game to NOT know what's next! anyway it is beautifully graphic'd and really fun. i don't mind the hare trigger release, but that's partly because sometimes i am better off making a random decision now and then! highly recommend this game..Version: 1.0.1
✓ AddictingI love this game, I started playing and at first I was frustrated because I wanted this to be like Tetris - I wanted to turn the pieces, etc. Then the longer I played I realized I didn't NEED to turn the pieces. That's what the game is about - you play with what you're given and get the highest score you can. My last game lasted 10 minutes. I love it. While the additions of being able to rotate pieces might be neat, enjoy it for the puzzle game it is. It was very thoughtfully put together, and it's highly enjoyable..Version: 1.0.1
✓ Turn-based block dropperIt's amazing what legs the Tetris concept has. Every year some new variation on the genre impresses me, and this is this year's. Very simple to grasp, but looks to have a lot of strategy. With only four columns and no rotating, it ends fast enough that it can be turn-based and require no reflexes, which is nice. It would be nice if there was an option to undo a last move or move a domino once it has been dropped. Maybe rotating them would be fun as well. ✓ More stars if undo features addedAs many people have noticed, you can think you're about to make an awesome move, and all of a sudden, the domino drops other than where you intended!! 😠 This is very frustrating especially because there is no way to undo what you've just done. There really needs to be an undo feature for those times when your touch was interpreted incorrectly. A couple of other things that would be nice are (1) to have the ability--maybe via a menu--to see progress and scores for each game already played AND (2) the ability to choose from that menu any previously played game to go back and replay to get a better score. ✓ Exceptional No-Stress Arcade PuzzleDomino Drop is a falling block puzzle ala-tetris, except you're matching block sections to make pairs of two. Easy, except you cannot rotate the pieces you are given. This limitation forces you to stack to create chains and rely on just a little bit of luck. However, this mechanic is balanced by the fact that the pieces do not fall on their own. You have as much time as you like to consider your placement and move the piece around. There are 3 game modes, one is the normal one, the other one is pro mode, which is pretty much the same, just unable to see the piece that will come after the actuall piece, and tails is kind of addicting, turning harder after every success, but I wish there were more modes that put even more of a spin on the unique gameplay, like one where you can play against another player, or one where instead of matching the same numbers, you had to match them with the number that comes after it (1 matches with 2, 2 with 3, ect. In fact, I’d comfortably put it in the same bracket as Threes, Dissembler and Mini Metro. [NOTE TO DEVELOPER]: The only fly in this otherwise tasty ointment is the omission of full iPhone X support. Indeed, this much needed optimisation would probably catapult Domino Drop into my daily commute playlist! Just if/when iPhone X optimisation is patched in, PLEASE get the 'home bar' at the bottom of the screen right. Probably 80% of developers get this all wrong and leave it fully illuminated and always active. This not only looks awful, but it makes it frustratingly easy to inadvertently close the app mid-game. For examples of correct optimisation, take a look at Agent A, Alto’s Odyssey, Don’t Starve and Inside. Hope this helps!.Version: 1.0.1

It's like Tetris in that you determine where to place the falling pieces, which disappear if you match them correctly and score points. When you've used up the space, it's game over, like Tetris. These pieces, however, are in the form of dominoes, they don't rotate, and they don't fall until you tell each one to do so. You match the color-coded numbered sides as they fall. The graphics are cute and colorful, and the game music is jazzy and upbeat. It's easy enough to encourage you, but challenging enough to keep you coming back to better your previous score. ✓ Fun and relaxing, touchy controlsThis game is super cute. I love the layout and mechanicals of it, even if they take a couple plays to get used to. It's like Tetris without the rotating pieces or stress of the piece falling in its own. The sound effects music and animation are all great. HOWEVER. The drop controls are very very touchy. To place a piece you either tap the screen to drop into the original position or slide to the row you want and release. This would be great if it wasn't so hair trigger sensitive. I try just tapping to release and the piece goes flying to the left. I try swiping right one row and it goes two or nowhere. ✓ Super fun game that just needs a few bug fixesThis is one of my favorite games on both the iPad and iPhone - a great way to pass a little idle time in an airport, or wherever you just want to shut your brain off for 5 minutes. It doesn’t really need anything major - gameplay is still perfect and why mess with success, but it could use a few usability/device updates. It doesn’t fill the screen on the latest iPads. And as others have noticed, the rotation is a little weird - switching from portrait to landscape isn’t always a success. Particularly if you have a picture-in-picture video playing at the same time. Also, I would LOVE to be able to move the pieces side to side using the iPad Smart Keyboard arrow keys. That would be amazing..Version: 1.0.1
