✓ Not ConvincedFor a start, all the help files and FAQs are copied from the official Tor pages, which is very suspect if they can't even write their own! Next, the option to spoof the browser fails miserably. The option to choose a Windows 7 browser was made, then accessing a well-known speed test site knew instantly I was using an iPhone! This was even with the cache and cookies cleared and browser restarted. There is nothing to suggest any of this is actually working as a Tor browser does. Nothing to say it is connected to the Tor network at all and I suspect that this is just another fake app. I think a lot of these reviews are written simply to get an add-free copy, and are not really meaningful. I'd suggest waiting for the official Tor version to become available, as let's face it, if there was a decent version for the iPhone they would have surely released it!.Version: 1.6.5
✓ Cash cowThis feels like a cash cow. I automatically bought it for £4.99. However, it doesn’t show up in my phone to turn vpn on. When I open the app it gives option to buy monthly, free trial, restore purchase. I click restore and nothing happens. I click the other 2 options and it has a processing pop up… that never changes. I’ve closed the app and even deleted and reinstalled. Still nothing. No support in settings. In fact, in settings there’s nothing but the standard, Siri, notifications blah. ✓ Flat Out Doesn't WorkDoes it work as a browser? Yes. Does it work through the TOR network? NO. It never goes through a TOR connection process. The first thing I did was check to see if I was connected through TOR, and I wasn't. There's no setting to do this, there's no way to force a TOR connection refresh, and there's no TOR routing going on. I even paid the pro upgrade fee thinking maybe I just hadn't done enough, and that didn't work. I emailed support; I never heard anything back. Then I thought it might be a problem with my network connection disallowing TOR launch points. I downloaded a different TOR browser (looks like a purple and white onion), and guess what? It launched, it went through a connection sequence, and I was on the TOR network, confirmed. So, in the end, this app doesn't work and the in-app upgrade just takes your money and still doesn't work. ✓ New version is a disasterThey had a browser that worked reasonably well. It had its limitations but overall was quite useable. The latest update, however, is terrible. It's slow, and even worse, they removed the blue bar that showed the progress of a page being loaded. Now, I can't tell whether a page is loading slowly, has stopped loading, or never began loading. Also, the refresh page icon does not work, and trying to reload a page using the address line also no longer works. Needs fixing asap..Version: 3.0.16

✓ The latest update ruined the app.First off they started charging, not a little, a lot. I liked the app enough that i subscribed. But not only did they start charging, they messed with the whole app. The browser with a fluently encoded vpn is not the first screen you see, now you sign in to the vpn, and transfer to a browser, and hopefully by that point app hasn’t crashed yet. The new update also has problems running the browser in landscape mode. I’ve only gotten it to turn sideways once in the two days I’ve been using it. I cancelled my subscription before being charged luckily they gave a free week. Unfortunately, i will never try the paid version of this app again, and now need to find a new TOR browser. Dudes. How do you sleep releasing a flawed update at the same time that you start charging for your product? ✓ Not anonymous at all!!!Ok first I downloaded this app specifically to submit what I mistakenly believed would be a completely anonymous crime report to a law enforcement agency. After submitting my crime tip, I next went to a Wikipedia page and checked both "talk" and "contributions" based on my IP address. (Before I started using this Tor app, I specifically deleted my cookies and temp files.) The Wikipedia page correctly identified my IP address and all of my prior Wikipedia contributions with that specific IP address. This means that this app is a 100% complete and total fraud because it did not conceal my identity or location..Version: 1.6.5

✓ Nice browser but...Overall this is a nice browser. Well laid out and functionality seems good so far. However, since downloading I’ve initially noticed it seems slower that safari. That may be due to the vpn it’s currently running through though. More time will tell. The other issue I’m having is circles with a play symbol in moving around the screen then multiplying. I move them away and even clicked on one but nothing. Seemingly just there to irritate you? Other than that so far so good. The full version may be better but I will persevere with this first as not buying a browser if I’m not happy with it first. Give the free one a go and see what you think. ✓ Anti tracking but they track youI just downloaded the app and the very first screen you get is a subscription screen. For starters, it’s $9.99 a WEEK! $520 a year to use their services, WHAT?! A VPN and Tor on a PC is less than $50 a year, and that’s for pure animosity! Why would I pay $480 more a year to be tracked by the very company claiming to help us not be tracked? That’s just the start of my issue with this app. The second complaint comes down to the fact that you have to subscribe through Apple ITunes. This poses a massive issue with me about security. The entire purpose of Tor is to be anonymous, which isn’t possible if you are being tracked by Apple. As well as Apple tracking you now, you also have their hosting service tracking you. For an anti-tracking type of business, this doesn’t seem right. You have to sign up to be tracked by multiple companies in order to not be tracked? One of those companies being APPLE?! I’ll pass, and I recommend anyone who actually cares about privacy to delete this app too. They are NO more secure than Firefox, chrome, or explorer..Version: 3.4.1

✓ This isn't real TorA simple ip check on google revealed that this did not mask my IP address. If sites load quickly that is massive red flag, Google should be throwing up Catchpa checks. ✓ Impossible to unsubscribeI am sure this works fine. I have not really been able to use it. But I’ve tried to unsubscribe and have searched settings as the app says to do but can find NOWHERE to unsubscribe. If this were a reputable company, this should be a simple, straightforward process with an easy access and clearly labeled location and button to unsubscribe. I’ve searched the app, the settings on my iPhone and in the Apple iTunes Store on my computer and it is not to be found. ✓ Works ok but issuesThe app does almost what it is supposed to do. However, like many other apps it's not as good as it could be. It is slow, much slower than certain other dedicated vpn's. It also occasionally freezes and crashes if you tap the screen to fast or ask too much of it. But the worst thing is the ad pop ups. I understand that the dev has to make money but at least get the app right first, put it out for beta and then charge for a great app. While I would like to try the premium version I would not pay for it from what I have seen on the basic and in my experience it may not make much of a difference. ✓ Loaded reviewsSo, I was chugging along dealing with this app - it’s not the best but I was getting used to it’s bad points and was resigned to it. For instance, the catchpas (sp?) were all jumbled so you can’t really fill them out. The browser back button is badly located if you’re using the keyboard I have cause you cant reach it. The list goes on. But I was all “whatevs, this is entertainig” and then all of a sudden the app stops and demands that I leave a five star review or else I could not continue to use it. Which...OK...I paid MONEY for this???? So....I’m not sure where you guys get off demanding crap from me when I already gave you money? ✓ Want my money back...It was working fine during the free trial although it’s slow as hell even with Wi-Fi, I was still able to surf the web. After I paid for another week of usage that’s when it started to crash especially if I leave the page to check on my other page. I consistently have to close the app and try again. What I will say is that this app isn't part of, programmed by, or even promoted by the original TOR project developers. These crooks are trying to profit off of others recognition and hard work. The real TOR browser is open source meaning it's free. Always has been, always will be. This crap app is definitely not "powered" by TOR. A side note, all these users that call any private browsing software a "TOR browser", STOP! There is only 1 TOR browser. ✓ Doesn't work, but the ads do!As soon as I installed this app I immediately tested it by browsing to an IP geolocation service. Sure enough my real IP, location, and ISP were displayed. Clearly I am not in fact browsing through Tor! Meanwhile all the controls get covered by a play button that forces you to watch a full screen ad. Even after you watch the ad it reappears after a couple minutes. This is in addition to a giant animated ad at the bottom of the screen. ✓ Forced use of a trialI am forced to use the 'Free Trial' which makes it feel like less of a complimentary gift and more of a forced experience in order to persuade you to continue the trial in the circumstance you actually remember about the subscription and don't cancel it, only for it to bill you monthly which is the idea behind forcing you to begin the trial. In my personal opinion, it's scummy and disingenuous to instead earn money off hard work solely but to also rely on people forgetting the monthly bill which some consider borderline thievery. It also limits accessibility for those who wish not to add a payment method to prevent accidental charges from in-app purchases or people concerns of privacy. ✓ Used to workPost purchase the App was working well for a short time. A little slow but that was to be expected. Fast forward a few weeks and it only loads a very small handful of sites, at most. All other sites I try to access thru this just sit there 'loading'. I am also still on an older version since every update has continued to break this application further, per the reviews. ✓ NOT free, just so you know...I missed that even the anonymous browser portion of the app requires a subscription of $4/week. It won't work at all unless you login with your apple id (a potential security/privacy issue on its own since now somebody is tracking how many days you have run the "free" trial or how many months you have subscribed) and enable the 30 days "free" trial. There were a couple of confusing clauses in the fine print as to when that trial could be cleanly terminated without dinging your credit card. I didn't take it any further, I don't run my devices constantly logged in to Apple servers for no good reason. Tor for desktop doesn't have a subscription component, while it may be worthwhile for this application, be aware that if you don't terminate exactly according to the terms you may end up paying..Version: 3.1.17
