✓ Smart... I wish I could play itI play on iPod 5 I love this sort of game like infinity blade but free games like these often crash when they are released so I exept it but I'm not willing to give a good review for a game that's broken. I'd love to change my review when an update to fix it comes out but the style of the game is stupendous. Ad more of an ingame shop for players to buy outfit parts and add levels of texture detail to prevent crashing and improve graphics. I under stand that making a video game is hard but if you would like to make a pay to win game I suggest fixing its bugs and adding more in app purchases. But I have to suggest downloading this game and if you in counter bugs please report them to make this a better game for people to play. ✓ Great gameI have a few things I would liketo point out such as the actual pirchase system if you choose to decline a purchase or click the button on mistake it will no longer work. The dodge mechanic is also terribly unresponsive as mentioned before please switch it to a button or something so dodging is a little easier. Otherwise this game reminds me of my good old day in infinity blade and I appreciate that..Version: 1.4.10
✓ A great time waster... with some bugsFirst off, I have little against this game, other than it's not my usual cup of tea. I actually greatly enjoy it in small doses. But what little I do have against it is frustrating: 1) the smallest issue, on some levels, doors don't actually open, you phase through them instead. This is actually kind of funny, so I almost would say keep it in, if it weren't for the fact the rest of the game has similar jankiness about very specific things. 2) the connect to Facebook feature is completely broken, which means the rewards it offers for doing so are unobtainable, which wouldn't be so bad if it weren't for 3) this game requires So. Much. Grinding. And the game never gives you enough per level to make it seem like it's worth it. The difficulty curve greatly surpasses the rate at which you acquire currency. And yea, it's pay to win, it is a free app, but it's frankly ridiculous how large the disparity is..Version: 1.4.10

✓ Average Action GameStormblades is an average game, and doesn't really bring anything new to the table. There is no story or character development WHATSOEVER, which is annoying due to the games potential to be a better than average game. The level design is linear with almost no gameplay apart from the fights, + there is little reward and gratification for completing levels, its just grinding through them without too much thought. The graphics aren't even that amazing, and looks a bit rough around the edges. While the animations some what redeem the graphics, it doesn't make up for lack of good gameplay and story. Now onto the gameplay: The battles/sword fights in the game are fun, but it plays like most her games eg; Infinity Blade. The game does an ok job of introducing new enemy types and boss types, and each time you encounter a new enemy, you have to get used to their attack patters. The game also tries to implement finishing attacks, but does it poorly, as it is not in the tutorial and are sometimes very hard to predict, coming up with almost no warning, and going away if you don't swipe in the right direction. In conclusion, Stormblades is a generic and average game which brings nothing new to the table, with gameplay that is a cross between temple run and infinity blade, but lacking story and emotion. It is a good game to play to waste time and can be played without wifi, which is a handy feature. If you liked infinity blade or temple run, this game might appeal to you, but otherwise, don't bother getting the app. Thank you for reading my review, watch out for my other reviews and remember that this is just my opinion..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Love the sceneryI wish I could slow down or stop and just look around - there are so many slasher games. But I have been looking for a jungle tomb scenery app. This ones the best. ✓ Game closes constantly durring gameplayI liked the action, I had little to no problem with reaction speed within the game, and 50% of each level was enjoyable. What was not enjoyable was having the game close its self on EVERY single level, about 1/2 way through the first playthrough of each level. By the time I reached level 5, and had the game close its self for the 5th time in the middle of a great battle scene I said enough was enough. Maybe I'll give it another try once the bugs are worked out. For now, it's tough to enjoy a game that won't let you play it..Version: 1.0.2

✓ Would've been goodThis is a nice game but it crashes waaaaaaaay too much. It's crashed on me over 70 times and I'm only on level 19. I'm actually writing this review right now because it crashed 5 times and I didn't feel like try again. Oh and I have an iPod 5th generation and not a single other app running. I would have given 5 stars but all this crashing is annoying. Yeah I'm back after redownloading this app I think redownloading just made it worse. ✓ A poor man's Infinity BladeWhy? Why make a clone of another game but not make it any better? There's no two ways about it, Stormblades is a clone of Infinity blade. The heart of Stormblades is a gesture controlled one-on-one sword fighting game that was pioneered by Infinity Blade set in a Lara Croft style jungle with temples, but with an added running element collecting 'essence' in between the duels. The sword fighting aspect plays well and is fun but we've seen it all before...three times before, each time from each of the IB trilogy. The first thing you notice is the graphics. It just lacks polish. The frame rates run smoothly and is very good for a 3D world game but once your mind is blown away by the world created in IB; the character design, sword design and background in Stormblades are just inferior and coarse. There is no storyline to speak off, which normally doesn't matter if a game is fun just for gameplay's sake, but IB's gameplay was enriched by its well crafted story and also provoked an emotion, a reason to fight to the end, just to see the ending. Without the story, Stormblades become more of a soulless hack n slash. The glaring weakness of IB was it's repetitive fighting element but it redeems itself in gameplay with your eagerness to upgrade and try different weapons and armor; and here lies the problem with Stormblades. It takes the repetitive sword-fighting element from IB but fails to capture the upgrading system magic. Sword upgrading in Stormblades is linear and dull. Cloning could be positive if it takes the original and improve on it or put a different spin on it. It's like X factor contestants who make a well known song 'There own', but also like most X factor contestants, they force the changes and it rarely superior to the original. By going for a well polished gem like Infinity Blade, Stormblades fails to meet such high standard and just becomes another wannabe put up for eviction..Version: 1.0.2

✓ There is one fatal flaw to this game!This game is super fun, easy to learn, not pay to win, and has a quick playtime so if you have 5 minutes you can play a round. There is simply one major problem with this game and that is it's dodge mechanic. As it stands you dodge by double tapping the screen, but due to the finicky nature of the iPhone a double tap can be misinterpreted as a single tap or a slash. Simple quick fix to this problem, put in a dodge button. You have the screen space and most of the work done. Just throw a button on the bottom right side of the screen, and map the dodge mechanic to it. I'm at level 26-7 and I can't progress because 90% of my dodges fail..Version: 1.1.3
✓ Really?When I hit level 8, I knew this app would either be a one star or a five star, depending on the reason it crashed. If it was my iPhone being junk, I would understand and rate the game five stars for being awesome. However: I rebooted my phone, tried playing many other levels and guess what? The only one that didn't work was level 8, and there wasn't anything in it that should have been particularly intensive. If there was, then I would assume it was just my phone. Since there was not, the only option left is that this glitch was created through bad programming on the part of the developers. So, if you are able to play this game without crashing, great! ✓ Not well thought throughAbsolutely ridiculous: I spent the last 10 days in this "sword quest" assuming that the rewarded sword would be of some value to me. Turns out after all this anticipation and effort, the rewarded sword was much weaker than the sword I'm using and MUCH worse than the swords available to me for purchase. Firstly, I see no point in the sword quest in the first place if the reward is so meaningless and useless. Secondly, at least show the stats of the reward so you know whether to aim for it or if it's going to be a complete waste of time. ✓ This game could be greatBut there are a couple things that are annoying about it. First, the game crashes fairly often, every 30 minutes or so of gameplay. Second, I'm playing on an iPad mini first gen and I get lots of lag on certain levels. The lag is bad enough to where it is impossible to dodge unblockable attacks which causes me to die when I shouldn't. Third, the shop doesn't get new weapons often enough and the swords you earn for free are garbage. They really only serve to unlock a new special property of swords you can buy in the store. All that said, this game is a solid time killer and is fun beyond its flaws. I do really enjoy that it truly is free to play. ✓ An average game let down by poor delivery.Essentially, this game focuses on twitch reactions as opposed to actual skill, or strategy. Whilst this isn't a bad thing, the game lacks any storyline whatsoever, has you repeating the same levels with the same 3 enemies (with slight armor variations). The biggest fault I find is the game slows down and freezes too often for a game that focuses on reactionary play. All in all, the game is quite fun, but feels rushed and quite frankly, lazy. Simple additions could have included interaction during the free running parts, even a choice in paths, enemy variety and adding actual strategic choices.
