✓ Out of date poor serviceI would never buy from Luxe again. 50% of the locations are closed. When I complained they offered me a “free guide” through a link that didn’t work. Then suggested I lie to Apple to get a refund. Total shonks, sad because Luxe used to be great..JB0zVersion: 3.0.1

✓ These guides used to be greatThese guides were great when they were paper based. They have lost something special over the last few years. It feels like someone has just pulled reviews from the web. The content is basically useless. The current Shanghai version has just one suggested itinerary. In addition, the information is often incorrect. For example, the information for one of the best local restaurants, M on the Bund, is just plan wrong (the map shows it as being on the other side of the river and doesn't tell you the entrance is off a side road!). ✓ Nowhere to redeem book code?I purchased the hard copy guide to Hong Kong which promised a free app. When I log in I am only offered a free preview or an upgrade costing £14.99. ✓ Good content - poor execution and managementThe app content is great when you can access it but being stranded after paying £7.99 for an app - without being able to log in due to the app crashing - doesn't make for a great product. ✓ UpdatesDoesn’t seem like they are keeping these guides current, some restaurants and bars have a lot negative reviews on tripadvisor and some bars are completely closed out of business. Might be good to cross reference but perhaps Luxe is only advertising businesses that pay them to promote those businesses which would be a real disappointment. Further, I have bought several of these guides yet they have an update or when you try to restore your purchase you still cannot get access to a guide previously purchased that isn’t right because the consumer has already purchased it - so clearly they are just charging twice - they need to fix this or be more transparent in their costs if they are charging you multiple times for the same application- I feel ripped off..AthfbirdwatcherVersion: 3.0.1

✓ Very Little informationI would give this guide minus if I could. I paid $22.99 and received the Miami Guide which consisted of little info, one or two photos of each entry and a paragraph of info which you could with little effort find more out for free. ✓ Not so good anymoreI have been buying Luxe guides for over 15 years and they used to be very good. However, since COVID I have bought 3 and they were all outdated. Many of the shops and restaurants have been permanently closed but the Luxe guide doesn’t say so. They need to be updated. ✓ Not available offlineThis app requires a daily update so can’t be used offline. The update process seems prone to crashing so even with an internet connection I’m currently unable to use any feature of the app as the update won’t complete. ✓ Don't buy this appThis is the most ridiculous waste of money for an app. $9.99 for an app that tells you less than I gathered in a day and a half here. There is almost nothing on the Paris guide. Considering that this is the most visited city in the world, it is appalling how little info is actually available, though they promise you five times as much in the preview. ✓ Luxe Guide - out of date as of 2023I have been using luxe guides since 2003 and purchased the full digital set in June 2023. Unfortunately most of these (eg Hong Kong, Istanbul, London) are 2+years out of date (post covid) with simple info available on most tourist sites - vey disappointing as Luxe used to be great with unique insights.Mir_USVersion: 3.0.1

✓ Limited and disappointingI bought the Barcelona guide and found it very disappointing, especially for the price. Several times we were in pretty basic neighborhoods (Barrio Gotic, El Born, Eixample) and found more to do from searching recent posts on local or travel blogs. For one restaurant recommendation, the name was completely wrong (or it closed). ✓ Virtually uselessI used to love the fold-out cardboard guides with wonderfully written copy that was bang-on, but these guides are terrible in comparison. The information is scant and the maps just don't work, so rather than helping, they helped get us lost. The technology just isn't up to scratch but neither are the guides themselves. ✓ Current version is a rip off. One year access only!I used to be a big Luxe guide fan. These little guides were useful, stored in my phone for easy reference and had some fantastic shopping and dining recommendations, and they were updated regularly. With a recent update, these guides are now $14.99 each and it expires after a year! I've also since realized there's nothing very special about their recommendations, with a little bit of effort, you can find them anywhere online for free! Sorry Luxe, you've just lost a user who used to buy your guides religiously! Update 31/7/17: my digital guides were accidentally removed due to a technical glitch.
