✓ A hunter, their gun, and the mutant who dislikes bothThere is something to be said for a game that understands its core premise. Grab a weapon, go into a dark and dangerous place and shoot monsters. There isn't a story to clog things up, and I say that as some one who loves stories in games, there isn't a lot of subtext. You have two guns, no go in there and clean out the level before moving to the next one. My only quibble is more that the map is found through the pause button rather than being displayed on the screen. I'm not sure if it's because I am playing the game on a iPad mini 2, or because it's never visible, but some help with the layout when I'm moving about would have been appreciated. But then again, it would spoil some of the surprise of things coming out of the dark..Version: 1.2.8
✓ Brilliant stuffThe update made it better; the previous version was too easy. Having said that, the three times I've died have either been due to carelessness or random bad luck (teleporting abomination?!?). Graphics a great, and weapons interesting. 'Overheating' is the reload mechanic, but to be honest, unless you're on a kill combo run, it isn't an issue. Enemies evolve nicely over the three levels (watch out for the ones that suddenly become invisible!). Would recommend. I already completed the previous version and had uninstalled when it looked like an update was a ways off, so am currently replying through it. It's changed from the previous incarnation - mutated you might say - and I can't yet comment on the IAP mechanic. It loses a star just for the inclusion of IAP to be honest..Version: 1.2.8

✓ Alien Swarm MobileXenowerk is an excellent game in its own right, although it bears an uncanny resemblance to the free to play, PC exclusive Alien Swarm. Levels are short, played from a top-down perspective and rewards you for clearing rooms and floors quickly. Gets grindy toward the end, but it’s all skill and no pay to win..Version: 1.3.8

✓ Just Pure Shooting FunI bought this game when it was new on the App Store and played through all the levels. Then they added more. Played through those and they added more! It’s been a while since they added anything because they put out other games like Space Marshall 1 & 2. There is another Xenowerk game but really it’s a completely new game and shares none of the characteristics of this one which I like much more. I love this game because even after I played it it’s still fun to run through the hardest levels shooting at things. I went through a tough break up and played this every day to work through my emotions as silly as that seems. It very relaxing to just power through different levels. Grab different weapons and use different strategies to kill the big brains that are everywhere in the later levels. The controls are the best I’ve used on a tablet or phone. It’s just a lot of fun. There’s kind of a story but this is not a story heavy game. It’s a third person shooter and your character just wants to keep her job. Help her. Dev, I’d love to see a version 2 with new environments and weapons..Version: 2.0.7

Amazingly responsive and precise controls (both touchscreen and MFI controller), beautiful graphics, nice animations, great enemies and enemy variety, tons of armors and weapons to unlock, nice power sets to add variety and tactics, immersive sounds, and a great scoring/unlock system that has you seeking kill sprees for the bonus points. The only twin stick shooters that come close to this game in fun and quality are the same developers Space Marshals 1 and 2 and the two Halo games (Spartan Assault and Spartan Strike). I love and recommend all five. For how little all five cost, you can't go wrong (I've had more fun with each of them than with games that cost 2 or 3 (or in the case of Xenowerk, 10 times) as much). All five games work great with touchscreen controls, but all five are even better with an external MFI controller, so thank you to the developer for including controller support..Version: 1.3.4

✓ HONEST REVIEWThis is my honest review of this game...and what can I say? This game is FANTASTIC, the visuals are sick, the plot is straightforward, the gameplay is like the old school run-and-gun style, the controls are smooth and enjoyable, and the whole concept is something quite new. The only downside to this game is the paywall, which also locks the rest of the campaign. I understand that you developers need the profit, but I’m suggesting that you make the campaign free, but then add a DLC or extension story lines to the game. I’m sure the is will attract much more people. There are so much possibilities you can do with this game, so here are some of my own suggestions: 1. Add co-op mode The idea of partnering up with another player and walking into a room guns up and blaring just makes we so excited. 2. Add editor mode Editor mode: basically a sandbox mode where people can create their own maps. Just imagine what people can with it, maybe they’ll make a huge maze filled with enemies? 3. Add more characters Currently we only have a female character (nothing sexist here), It would be pretty cool if you could implement a male or also a robot character. They could even have their own unique abilities! This is all I have to say, don’t give up on this game! There are many cool things you could still do with it..Version: 2.0.6

✓ Still No Full iCloud SupportI really enjoy this game; it’s one of the first games I downloaded when the App Store came to tvOS in 2015… which is where my problem lies: full iCloud support has never been brought to this game (a.k.a. the tv version does not sync with the iPhone/iPad version of the game. So, if you start a game on tvOS, you have to start all over on iOS/iPadOS, and vice versa). I was really hoping – seven years later – this would have been resolved by now. ✓ Amazing gaming experienceThis game is phenomenal. Everything from the graphics, controls and difficultly. It’s not to hard, while not being too easy either. Once you’ve played some levels, you have to pay for the whole game to continue. I think this is really good because you get to experience the game before you choose wether to buy it or not. Overall, I would highly recommend trying out the game. However, like some other people have said, it would be a good feature to have a multiplayer mode, so you can play with friends over a local network or through a lobby..Version: 2.0.6

✓ A superb game. Sublime.I truly love this game. It is gorgeous to look at and is incredibly atmospheric. The music is well suited to the feeling of the game. It's a dual stick shooter with serious chops, not one for the squeamish. I play with an MFI controller (a Mad Catz Micro) and if I connect my iPhone 6+ to the TV this game beats most current gen console games for immersion and action. The game sets you as a female protagonist in a series of maze like laboratories where an experiment has gone wrong and endless streams of creatures are swarming to attack. Clearing the mazes and completing the objectives is great fun, I'm on level three after clearing the labs and a military base and I can't get enough of it. You start with meagre weapons and armour but these can be replaced and upgraded with pickups from the game. The upgrade path is really nicely done and I'm always experimenting with new load outs. There are power ups and boosts and I have not felt the need to buy in game purchases. A recent update has added more levels and weapons and I can see me playing through the rest of the levels and then replaying again. Challenge mode through Game Centre adds even more to do. This is a flagship title for IOS gaming right now..Version: 1.2.8
