✓ Neon ChromeWhile I understand not making the iOS build as robust as the Steam version... it still kind of stinks. This is a fantastic game, and would have only been made better by including online modes. Don't let the fact that there's 'only' 25 levels turn you off... it's 25 levels for each playthrough... once you beat Overseer 1.0, you move on to replaying and beating Overseer 2.0... 3.0... ect... there is always more challenge to be had. The additional battery saving mode, and extra graphics options allows for smooth gameplay across quite a few devices, all the way back to the iPhone 5. So... if you're running iOS 8 or above, and interested in twin-stick roguelikes... you should definitely dig deeper into this one to see if it's something you'd like. ✓ Best five bucks I've spent on an iOS gameIt's a simple game: shoot and kill your way up through 25 or so levels until you're able to take out the final boss and replace the "Overseer." Gameplay is smooth and the graphics are great. You use dual-stick controls and the whole experience is dramatically improved if you use a game controller, such as the SteelSeries Nimbus. After you've finished the first set of levels, the game starts over at a higher level of difficulty. It's addictive and fun..Version: 1.0.11

✓ Best mobile game I've ever playedThis game has every element needed for a game to be entertaining. Not impossible, but difficult enough, an actual storyline, cool weapons, great gameplay and even a great soundtrack. Highly recommend buying this one, well worth the money. Very refreshing change of pace from all the "pay to play" games that have infected the mobile game market. If I had any complaint, and it's not even a complaint really since I figured it out rather quickly, there could be a better tutorial for the controls. Otherwise a five star game. ✓ Brilliant twin stick w/RPG elementsI picked this up on Steam a few months back, and I'm still playing it on the PC. When I saw it on the app store, I didn't hesitate to pick it up. In terms of content and sheer fun, NC is in the same league as Enter the Gungeon, Binding of Isaac, or Nuclear Throne. The translation to iOS is brilliantly done, with the controls and aim assist combining to make NC easy to play on both my iPhone 6+ and my work phone (iPhone 6). The only hitch is in using secondary abilities (like missiles etc)... It can be a bit awkward on the larger screen. The devs have implemented a helpful "slow-down" mechanic (game time slows to a craw to allow you to comfortably aim the secondary fire) which mitigates the issue a bit. There's an absolute ton of content here. Each run is procedurally generated, and you have to complete multiple runs to unlock all the equipment/skills/traits... Of which there are a small mountain. Graphics and audio are both outstanding, and set the mood beautifully. (In fact, I'd love to be able to buy the soundtrack)... It feels very Shadowrun / Bladerunner / Neuromancer -y. If twin stick shooters or ARPG's are your poison, give this a crack and you won't be sorry..Version: 1.0.8
✓ IOS Game Of The Year!!!Well, at least for me anyway. If you are a fan of ANY roguelite and the Hotline Miami series, then this is going to probably be your new favorite iOS game as well. This game is near perfect! My only setback is as one of the other reviewers stated, it will drain your full battery in less than an hour and make your phone overheat real bad IF you leave it on high display settings. THIS IS IMPORTANT! Anyone having either of these issues, go into the options menu>display settings>from here you can customize any of the settings, but I recommend to turn it onto LOW if you plan on playing this game for a long time like I do. This will cure ALL the overheating and battery drain issues, the only sacrifice with this that I have even noticed is a MARGINAL decrease in some of the real bright neon colors in the game. After 10 minutes of playing on this setting though, I didn't even notice it anymore, and have now been enjoying hours & hours of gameplay with no overheating and battery drain past normal battery consumption. And for the people that complained about not having a manual reload button, the tutorial tells you in the beginning you can turn the reload button on in the settings! I've had the reload button the whole time! After you turn the initial display settings down to low & turn the reload button on, this game plays amazing and I rarely ever rate games, especially rarely with a high rating and I can confidently say this is my game of the year! Neon Chrome, while at times is hitting the frantic pace, is a twin shooter that relies more on good positing and careful aiming. ✓ Exquisite game!My only gripe is that it can’t go from landscape to portrait screen mode interchangeably. This is a very important feature if you want to recharge your phone while playing the game. One might think a game such as this wouldn’t be able to do such a thing but “The Binding Of Isaac” did it, and it has quite a similar play style when it comes to an Action-Roguelike-Shooter, so I think if the devs looked into this they could accomplish it. I mean, the game is perfect in every way otherwise, so I think this feature is only a matter of time. Ps: the controls take a minute to get used to as apposed to being automatically a synch because, in my opinion, without controls such as the ones in this game, everything wouldn’t be so amazingly tight and tactical. Good job devs, Took me a while to realize anything that could make this game better, and the screen orientation flip is all I can think of. Please don’t let me down, phones just don’t have long enough battery spans for a game as exquisite as this, especially if I am running my tunes in the background with it. ✓ Great game, coop?This is a really good game, the visuals are beautiful and the controls are spot on. I only bought this because it was high on a list of coop games. As far as I can tell, the only way to play coop is to pay for the arena DLC pack, which is more money. Asking for even more money on top of a £7 game seems a bit....cheeky to me. I might be wrong. ✓ Alien Breed meets Deus Ex/System ShockI'm a snob for Cyberpunk. I played Neon Chrome simply because it offers cyberpunk themes and visuals. I had a blast playing game. The combat is fun, the powers and weapons feel great, the visuals play fine on the iPhone 7s and the mix of neon and darkness give a DOS era vibe. I ran through a bar in the game and immediately though of Dreamweb and other Cyberpunk games and media. The music is good. And the game has a quick play vibe. Which is my only complaint. It borrows a little too much from the arcade era. Which is great if that's your thing. But I would have liked some save systems to add some longevity to the feeling of progression. ✓ A Fun DistractionThis game has everything a simple mobile port needs. Easy controls, addictive gameplay loop, and a clear objective to guide you forward. Everything is randomized so no two runs are ever the same which keeps things fresh for awhile. And there is still enough complexity where you won’t turn your brain off completely since this game is still very challenging and you are guaranteed to die a dozen times before you get the grasp of things. I enjoy the music, sound effects and graphics. It remains to be seen just how randomized the levels are, but so far I have seen a good variety. It seems the boss levels might be static in design but I'll have to play a lot more to verify that.
