✓ Grief... What a horrid racket!On launch Boom2 takes over your Mac's audio settings. Taking ambient sound measurements without notifying the user how the sound is being captured it starts generating all manner of audio sounds and sounds. Impoently one has to sit and watch the frquency response being maladjusted by some algorithm. A fe wminutes later the Boom 2 sound generator ceases and leaves you staring at a frequency response looking more like the Himalayas than a millpond. Selecting to accept Boom 2's calibrations I was faced with a loud wall of badly distorting sound as all outputs were being driven beyond clipping. Alarmed at just how dreadful Boom 2 made my Mac's audio sound I hit the "fidelity" icon to restore a flat response and rescue my ears from tinnitus. I'm really not sure what this app is trying to do or how it's doing it. I only know the end result is a sound system performing like a room full of dogs and cats mid-strangulation. Clearly, it's going to be a while before I determine whether this app is good or vile..Version: 1.2

✓ No EQ adjustGood app with a great music sound effects. Like really great, but this app, although very sweet in its simplicity and function, doesn’t allow EQ adjust. Yea, you can select presets, but you can make your own custom presets and select those with remote. So wet up might be an extra step for the advanced customization. Also, wish advanced had more than 31 frequencies, but it’s pretty good for the sale price. I hope it’s supported for a long time. I do like Boom3D. Looking fwd to finalizing the setup..Version: 1.3.2

✓ Like the idea, needs a little workI totally understand that this is the very first release of this app, so I don't expect it to work perfect. My main issue is that it doesn't stay connected in the background. As soon as the phone is locked, or the app isn't in the foreground, it disconnects from the computer. I'm not sure if this is an issue on the phone or the computer, but I'm guessing it's the phone since multitasking is more of an issue there. Hopefully this issue gets resolved, but overall, I would rather use this than Apple's default remote app..Version: 1.0

✓ Needs to offer solutionsI installed this after installing Boom3D on my iMac. I tried using it and it said Boom3D was not running system wide. I still haven’t figured out how to make it do so. Their site offers a video titled How to Run Boom3D System Wide, which then only gives a sort of ad of it working thusly. But no instructions on the setting. Frustrating..Version: 1.3.2

✓ Good but needs better preset switchingI really like Boom 2 on the mac. This remote app is a nice bonus, I appreciate it being free. It all actually works really nicely. My main issue is when choosing for an EQ preset. When it's night time, I like to change my EQ to a "bass reducer" preset. The app makes it difficult to just select said preset. I have to scroll through all the other presets (and these presets toggle on while scrolling through) this means I pass the super bass booster presets and get booming bass when I'm trying to get the opposite. So now at night time I have to disturb the neighbors with some booming bass while I'm trying to tame the bass. Not a huge issue but I think the presets feature needs to be re-thought so you don't have to enable every preset in your list just to get to the one on the other side of the alphabet..Version: 1.2
✓ Still needs a lot of workI appreciate that this is a new release, but the app is not very reliable in it’s present state. Most importantly the app only appears to work when it is the active app on the iPhone, if you hit the home button the app disconnects from Boom 2 on your Mac, even turning the screen off disconnects it. So it basically does not work in background mode. Integration with VLC and iTunes seems good, any changes made in the app are reflected instantly on the Mac, equaliser & volume changes are instant. You can control the volume of both Boom2 and the Mac native speaker volume. One nice feature is the background of the app is animated and it reacts with the volume coming from the connected Mac (think a visualiser type thingy) I guess my main gripe would be the lack of background operation on the iPhone, if Global Delight get this bit sorted then I would give it 4 stars, if they sorted the inconsistent operation it would be a 5 star rating. One last thing, before the app will connect, you have to allow it to from the Mac (a pop up allows you to do this).Version: 1.0

✓ Released too soonThis dev LOVES releasing things before he ought to, compound that with tremendously horrible customer service if you rub him the wrong way and you’re going to find upset customers. So yeah, it’s buggy. Oh well, he’ll get that fixed ASAP, for certain. What’s more, I can’t find a single time when I think I would ever use this. ✓ All New Boom AppsUsing El Capitan - I was hesitant to write this until now, even though I am getting (some) help, but not what any person would expect - little, except hours and hous of emails back and forth of why my Boom 2 for Mac seems to completely quit then needs to be reinstalled.
